The Mahanarayana Upanishad is an ancient Sanskrit text embedded within the Krishna Yajurveda. The Upanishad explores themes of metaphysics, ethics, and the pursuit of knowledge, influencing various Indian philosophies. The Mahanarayana Upanishad is notable for its detailed descriptions of rituals, particularly the "Samdhya" ritual, and its focus on the individual and the divine.
महानारायण उपनिषद कृष्ण यजुर्वेद में रचित एक प्राचीन संस्कृत ग्रंथ है। यह उपनिषद आरंभिक वैदिक ग्रंथों और अथर्ववेद के बीच एक सेतु का काम करती है, जिसमें "आत्मा" और "ब्रह्म" की अवधारणाओं पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है। यह उपनिषद तत्वज्ञान, नीतिशास्त्र, और ज्ञान की खोज जैसे विषयों पर प्रकाश डालती है और विभिन्न भारतीय धर्मों और दर्शनों को प्रभावित करती है। महानारायण उपनिषद अपने विस्तृत अनुष्ठानों, विशेष रूप से "संध्या" अनुष्ठान, और व्यक्ति और परमात्मा के बीच संबंध पर जोर देने के लिए जानी जाती है।

Pancha ayudha Stotra, is prayer of the five weapons possessed by Lord Vishnu. These weapons are: Sudarshan Chakra, Panchajanya Shankha, Kaumodaki Gada, Nandaka Khatgha, and Saranga Dhanush. These are the five weapons possessed by Lord Vishnu, and this stotra celebrates the possessor of the weapons- Vishnu Bhagwan himself.
The way Vishnu ji came to obtain these stotras is quite interesting. Sudarshan Chakram and the gada, Kaumodaki Gada, were made by Vishwa Karma, the Architect or builder for the Gods. The Saranga Dhanush was made by Lord Brahma. The Panchajanya Shankh was obtained by the Lord after killing an asur or a demon who went by the name Panchhaja. This demon used to reside in this shankh.
The sword called Nandak was obtained by Lord Vishnu during one of the Maha Hom (or yagnas) performed by Brahma jii. While performing this Hom, an Asur with a thousand arms used to obstruct the rituals. The name of this Asur was Loha. Lord Vishnu appeared in front of Brahma ji, seized the Khataka, called Nandaka Khetaka from the Asur. He used that very weapon to slay the Asur.

Nine days of Navaratri are divided into three parts, each representing Tamas, Rajas, Satva
First three days represent Tamas: Goddess is fierce and in the form of Durga and Kali.
Next three days are related to Goddess Laxmi : Materialistic oriented.
Last Three days are dedicated to Goddesss Saraswati- Reading, learning and enlightenment.
On the day of Vijayadashmi, it is said that we have conquered all these qualities, we participated in these days, but overcame and did not give in.
Dussera also is symbolic of the ten headed Ravana- each head representing one bad quality or ill. Siddhi means perfection. Goddess Siddhidatri has four hands, and wields a gada (mace) and chakra (wheel) in her right hands had a shakha (conch) and lotus in her left hands. She rides a tiger, and is known to be a perfectionist. She governs planet Ketu. Devi can grant 18 types of Sindhis that humans desire for their betterment. In addition she can also grant 26 other types of wishes.
It is said that when Lord Rudra (Shiva) worshipped the Adi Shakti or energy, she appeared in the form of Goddess Siddhidatri.

Kaalaratri Devi is the destroyer of darkness within. She is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati and is said to have destroyed the demons Shumbha, Nishumbha, and Raktabeeja. She controls Lord Shani and also Sahastrachakra (the seventh chakra, situated in the head).
Her ride is a donkey, she is dark in complexion, and carries a sword and an iron hook. She controls the last milestone of human evolution, and is also known as Goddess Shubhankari.

Katyayini Devi is the sixth form of Devi or Goddess. She is a warrior goddess, and is known to protect the principles of Dharma and Satya. She rides a lion, has three eyes and four hands. She rules the adya chakra (the spot between the two eyes)- the centre of clarity and wisdom.
On the fifth day of Navaratri Festival, we worship Devi Skandamata. She is the Goddess responsible for action and activity. The represents icchaskakti (the power of intention), gyanshakti (the power of knowledge) and krisyashakti (the power of action). Devi Parvati in this form is the mother of Skanda (Kartikeya), and she is called Skandamata.

This is a day that falls on the Full moon day of the month of Magh. There are many other names for this Purnima.
Magh Purnima is considered to be one of the most auspicious days and a major day for bathing at the confluence of rivers (Sangam) during the Kumbha mela. Lords Vishnu, Hanumanji, Parvati and Brihaspati are worshipped on this day.Some devotees perform Satyanarayan Puja on this day.
In Tamil Nadu a float festival is celebrated, when beautiful idols of Meenakshi and Lord Sundareshwar are taken out in procession. Buddhists also consider this day to be auspicious- Gautam Buddha proclaimed that he would leave the world.

The festival of Makar Sankranti was celebrated recently on January 15th. This festival marks the first day of sun's transit into the Makar Rashi (Capricorn). It is believed that from this day onwards, the cycle of longer days begins. It is one of the few festivals that is observed according to solar calendar.
Makar Sankranti is known as as Maghi or Lohri in North India, Makara Sankranti in Hamarashtra, Pedda Pandaga in Andhra Pradesh; and is also celebrated in West Bengal, Karnataka and Telangana. This festival is known as Sukarat in central India, Magh Bihu in Assamese, and Thai Pongal by Tamil Nadu.
