This week, Angie and Stevens reiterate the importance of accountability, submitting to that with other brothers and sisters, and how that can encourage you to avoid sin. In contrast, not having accountability, or enough of it, can also encourage sin. In the case of Steven Lawson, the information we have is limited, but one thing is for sure, the importance of guarding your heart and mind with scripture and that Ephesians 6 armor of God is a must, and a non-negotiable in the life of a disciple of Christ.

This week Angie dives into 2 Peter 1:16-21 and how we can apply it to our lives today. Peter makes a defense as to why his testimony of Jesus should be believed: his eyewitness testimony and prophecy fulfilled.
CLARIFICATION: Angie says, “You have been blinded to think that you can only be saved by your faith and by your faith alone.” What she meant is, that when you are saved by faith alone, there is evidence of that faith, just as James 2:24. This week Angie and Stevens discuss a book they both read recently that speaks to God’s grace. Dark Journey, Deep Faith”, by Roy Ratcliff is authored by the Pastor that not only performed Jefferey Dahmer’s baptism, but also discipled Jefferey until his brutal murder, a week before thanksgiving in 1994. The response to Jefferey’s open confession of Jesus as the only God, Lord and Savior over his life, generated a lot of disgraceful responses, especially from proclaiming “Christians” that said things like, “if Jefferey Dahmer is in heaven, I don’t want to be there.” It is because of this sad and repeated response and responses like it, that we decided to dedicate this first episode of season 4 to God, and the grace he offered even a wretched person like Jeffery Dahmer. The difference between Jeffery Dahmer and most of the rest of the world, isn’t necessarily his crimes alone, but his response to God’s offer of salvation. Tune in to find out more!!

Angie and Stevens remind us that we must humble ourselves in submission to Christ, so that the Holy Spirit can work through us; and when the Holy Spirit works through us, not to be quick to take part in God’s honor and glory. Angie and Stevens encourage us to remember that anything good we do is of the Spirit, and anything bad; mistakes, etc, is of the flesh. We are imperfect and if we are not careful, we can do serious damage to the body of Christ.

This week Angie and Stevens discuss that while the end times talk May cause many to be afraid, it should actually create a sense of urgency and hope. As Christians, we know how the story ends, and according to scripture that time is fast approaching. Angie and Stevens discuss some of the things that they believe point to a soon tribulation that is already casting a shadow over this world. Angie and Stevens also discuss the importance of churches not just preach God’s word, but also exercise God’s word. As it seems, the Supreme Court of the USA is on the verge of overturning Roe v. Wade (1973), which legalized abortion. Stevens discusses the 1973 case briefly and the implications of it being overturned, reads what scripture sayas about abortion and spilling innocent blood, and gives practícale examples on why abortion is simply unconstitutional. There is only ONE instance where the death of the unborn cannot be grounds for prosecution, but it also is not abortion since. In one instance, the hope and attempts are to save both mother and baby. In abortion, the deliberate end goal is to brutally dismember a baby, more times than none, with additional disregard for the mother’s life and/or mental health. Angie and Stevens are back this week discussing some issues Stevens has found when talking to atheists and agnostics. Stevens claims they redefine what the word “faith” means and how it is used. Stevens floors on to explain that many non-theists use the word faith when the really mean to say “blind faith”. Faith and blind faith are not interchangeable terms and Angie and Stevens explain why. Additionally, Stevens has found that atheists in particular l, not all, but some, are clinging to an aspect of intellectual laziness when opting to refuse to give a reason for their negative claim, stating that the burden of proof is exclusive to the person making the positive claim and not the negative claim. In this case, the positive being, “God does exist”, and the negative being, “God does not exist”. As Stephen Law, PhD in an article he wrote in, “Psychology Today”, on 09-15-2011, says and Stevens has now adopted, “assuming that a negative claim cannot be proven is folk logic”. This week Angie and Stevens talk a little bit about the atheist delusion. No, it’s not a new book, though it should be, and maybe Stevens should write it. Stevens explains why most atheists live contrary to their own belief system. Stevens goes on to say that a true atheist has no option but to abandon any and all moral standards, and commit to living without fear and in acceptance of any and all consequences. Stevens elaborates that by his guess, about 99% of atheists are actually agnostic at heart because even though they intellectually reject the existence of a creator, they whole heartedly do not want a creator to exist, thus the atheist delusion, ironically has to do more with the heart and less with the mind.

This week Angie and Stevens discuss Yom Kippur, a Jews holiday; Day of Atonement. Stevens explains the importance of this Jewish holiday and its relevance to their Judeo-Christian beliefs. They reiterate the importance of repentance, acceptance, belief in your heart and verbal confession in obtaining salvation by grace alone, in faith alone, through Christ alone. Finally they end the podcast with their favorite topic; eschatology. They talk about the hope in the end times, which we have been since the first century, but where we are almost actually at, coming full circle in God’s ultimate plan with the 2nd return/coming of Jesus Christ. Then they briefly discuss some differences in opinion in their respective eschatology and how it is healthy to discuss this amongst yourselves as Christians, and do it with gentleness and respect just like Peter says in 1 Peter 3:15. This could be a good place to start that could get a Christian out of the shell so he/she can start witnessing and evangelizing to Friend’s, family and strangers.
