Istanbul Modern was founded as Türkiye’s first modern and contemporary art museum back in 2004. But its building wasn’t designed as an art space, instead, it was a customs warehouse. So the museum moved to a different venue until the building gained a more suitable futuristic and solid structure. Now it’s back at its original location and its architect says, this time it’s here to stay.

From Egypt and Brazil to Mexico and China, Spanish photographer Isabel Munoz has made her way around the world to tell new stories. But those new stories are often related to ancient traditions, and historic places - just like the archaeological sites in southeastern Türkiye where life once existed around twelve thousands years ago. Munoz went there and brought her perspective to Istanbul’s Pera Museum.

Over the weekend, Ataturk Cultural Centre held the Istanbul Digital Art Festival. The third edition of the event highlighted the potential of digital art to bring people from different generations and cultures together. And maybe we should also say different entities, as one of the festival's curators is artificial intelligence.
The fourth edition of the London Design Biennale is under way at the city’s Somerset House. More than 40 participants from all over the world are exploring the theme of collaboration. Türkiye is also there with an installation by architect Melek Zeynep Bulut.

British artist John Craxton once said; 'Life is more important than art'. He was a free spirit with no obsession for fame or money. All he wanted to do was to live under the sunshine and paint pleasure. So, in 1946 he visited Greece and it was love at first sight. Three years later, he saw Istanbul and fell for its culture and colours. And just recently, our presenter Esra Durust was joined at Istanbul's Mesher by writer Ian Collins who told her more about the late artist's decades-long obsession with the Mediterranean.

Turkiye has finally landed some Michelin stars. The world's leading restaurant rating system has handed out six of them and added around 50 Istanbul eateries to its guide. But it hasn't come without a dash of criticism.
