Daniel Chapter 9:1-23 takes break from apocalyptic prophecy to zoom in on the intimate prayer life of Daniel. So looking at verses. 1-3 Pastor JT zooms in on what What Inspires Daniel to pray? What should inspire us to pray?
In order to understand the Gospel we must first understand the Law. God's Law is summarized in the 10 commandments, which Jesus summarizes in Matthew 22:37-40. Loving God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and loving our neighbor as our self is what God expects of His creation. Well who has ever done that perfectly? We see then that the Law functions as a mirror that shows us our need for the gospel.
Daniel 8 is all about a vision of a coming season of suffering for God's people at the hands of a tyrant king named Antiochus Epaphanes. Antiochus embodies the spirit of the AntiChrist (1 John 2:18) by opposing God, eradicating the worship of God, and by crushing God's people. But Why does this matter for us? God is forewarning His people so that they may know and prepare for what is coming. In the same way in John 15:18-16:1-1 Jesus forewarns us of coming persecution. This has many practical implications for how believers today must live for Christ in the 21st century.
What is the gospel? In this brand new series Pastor JT is attempting to teach the middle school students the most important truths of the Christian faith. The gospel is what separates Christianity from every other worldview or religion in the world. Our hope is that students would receive Christ by faith and be equipped to share their faith boldly with their friends.
Are we in the Last Days? Is God really in control of what is going on? Daniel 7 is the most important chapter in all of Daniel and one of the most confusing to interpret. God’s people were pressured by the Babylonians to worship and serve their God just like we are pressured everyday to reject God and serve the world and ourselves. The goal of this chapter is twofold: First to reassure us as we are pressured by the world, trials, and temptations that we have a God who is able to deliver us from these things. GOOD NEWS - God in His grace will not leave us to die in our sins due to our breaking his law. In this episode we learn of another covenant God makes with mankind. Unlike the covenant of life based on works, this is a covenant of grace based on the works of God's son.
