Andy reminisces about being the host of Christian Educator Weekly (and Monthly). He talks about the origins of the podcast and the transition to a new host and shares about a few highlights and lessons learned in between.
Remember - Let God guide you this week as you educate others and administrate the church within the kingdom of God for the glory of God.

Andy dives into an administrative concept by having listeners consider how much time, money, energy, etc. is put into each of the five core areas of the church. But to make those areas work, a sixth area is needed. Where is your church? Where is your ministry? Where are you in relation to these areas?

Teaching and preaching are not the same and both have importance. Andy shares a key distinction between them. He then dives into how a recent situation in a church led to a request related to cancel culture on the podcast and why he turned down the request.

The mic was flipped on Andy on a different podcast (Biblical Perspectives on Aging) to discuss his faith and beliefs as he joined Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries as Vice-President of Operations. The episode was re-purposed for this podcast which has now transitioned from Christian Educator Weekly (CEW) to Christian Educator Monthly (CEM).

Using 1 Timothy 3 as a launch-point, Andy shares why personal administration is important and how his decision to move Christian Educator Weekly (CEW) to Christian Educator Monthly (CEM) is due to him seeking to manage and lead himself first.

It is helpful to know the different levels (as defined on this podcast) and how to minister to each group, but something is missing. We need a system to track and help move people along. In this week's episode, Andy shares a few thoughts on why a system is needed, and a few considerations for building the system.

The fourth and final step in the discipleship process is D4. At this step, people move from engaged to empowered. And because they are empowered, the should seek to be empowering others as well. The empowerment comes from the Holy Spirit (which happens at the D1 level), but now includes being empowered by others who are also at the D4 level.
Music: ·Fearless First· by Kevin MacLeod. Used by permission. License #: FML-48466-4778
The third step in the discipleship levels (D3) is one when true engagement begins. While people need to connect with others in the previous levels, in this step, the service becomes about moving from involvement to engagement. Deeper, and more focused, study is a part of this level as well, all of which can prepare for opportunities of leadership in the future.

This week's questions are the result of a phone conversation with a student. The topics are:
What is important in a new church plant?
How do you deal with silos in ministry?

With a renewed voice, Andy continues the series discussing the D2s and shares why this step is critical in the present and for the future.

CEW will hopefully return next week as normal. Andy did not have a voice at the time this episode was to be recorded. The discussion on the current series, with a look at the D2's, is scheduled to continue on Monday, January 24, Lord willing.
The series continues with a brief look at the D1s and a couple of ideas on what is important for them as they get plugged into the Church shortly after their new birth (salvation).

Just after the pandemic began to shut down much of the world in March 2020, Nathan Rose joined Andy to talk about THE CHURCH, and how his church (Liberty Baptist Church) was navigating the early days.
Recently, Andy interviewed Dr. Nathan Rose (he has completed his PhD) to get an update on much of what has transpired with during the last twenty months.

In the last group of the unchurched individuals (U1s) as defined by Thom Rainer, we find a group that is on the brink of making a decision to receive the gift of eternal life from God through Jesus. Andy covers some research (from 2008) about the group and how to help them connect with others who are a part of the church.

Andy moves to cover the level of U2 (Unchurched 2s, as defined by Thom Rainer). This group still has some confusion on biblical matters, but has a general understanding of heaven, hell, salvation, etc. Andy shares several insights about the group and some thoughts on helping these individuals to get involved with a group or in a church.

This week, Andy moves to the U3 level (Unchurched 3s, as defined by Thom Rainer). This group has some knowledge of Jesus but is generally confused on the real truth of the gospel. At the end of the episode, Andy shares a few ideas on how to reach this group.
Music: ·Fearless First· by Kevin MacLeod. Used by permission. License #: FML-48466-4778
As he did with the group most hostile towards God and the church, Andy provides a few characteristics that are generally true of those who are one step removed from the previous group. This group is still unchurched, but has been labeled (by Rainer) as U4s. Near the end of the episode, Andy shares a couple of options to attempt to reach this group of individuals.

In an effort to provide a quicker look at moving people through the process of guest to member, And discusses an article from Church Fuel that provides a five step process. A link to the original article is included below.

Many years ago, Rick Warren introduced a very simple, and effective (because it was simple) model using a baseball field to help communicate moving people to higher levels of commitment and engagement. Andy expands the model (admittedly complicating it) to encompass more of the levels he mentioned in last week's episode.
