The Spring
The Spring is a weekly worship podcast by Zak Wilksch. The purpose is to see what God has for us fresh each week. Late last year I felt like God gave me this idea and I feel like its time to put it into action. The 'spring' refers to a mountain spring, and the idea is that instead of trying to bottle up what He gives us, we come continually and drink from his flowing fresh springs of life. I'm really excited to share this and see what comes out. It will be raw and probably not perfect musically, but I feel like that is the idea. You are welcome to soak, and even take a line or two and put it into your own worship time. I will write a short description of what I feel was coming out of each worship time.
Podcast 27 is finally up, after having a short hiatus from doing the podcasts.
"For You" is a podcast about taking the time to get to know God just for who He is, not just for what we can get from Him.
"26. Rabbit Hole Down" looks at our tendency to measure and balance how much we enter into connection God. It addresses the fear that we could get lost in our own "nice" time with God and never go out. It shows that when we dive right in all the way down the rabbit hole, what we actually find is that we look through new eyes, and it transforms everything around us. We can't help but impact others when we are in this space.
As I was worshipping this week, I found myself singing a bit about my story. I went through a time of deep confusion and questioning, but at the same time I never felt disconnected from God. This week's podcast really highlights his constancy and His willingness to give us time and space to heal.
This week we look at seeing God's Kingdom being fully experienced in our lives, so that we can in turn see it being experienced throughout the earth.
Its an amazing thing to explore everything that Jesus has won for us through His sacrifice. This week is about making sure that we do explore this freedom and the relationship that we can have with our King.
This weeks podcast is a bit of a shorter one. Its a refrain of the "Take It" podcast from a couple of weeks ago, and reminds us that He is always close.
Hi guys, this week's podcast is called "Deep Down". It continues to delve into what God has placed inside of us, and the time we need to take to spend with Him, so that we can draw it out. This is really the heart of The Spring. God's put His living water inside of us, and He wants us to let it all pour out.
Our time of worship this week explores making sure that we are taking full advantage of the price that He paid for us by stepping into all that He won for us and everything He made us to be.
This episode is called We Adore You, and its really just about enjoying being in His company and telling Him how much He means to us.
3rd time lucky uploading this podcast without big issues. The bridal minstrel is a podcast about a picture I got of the place where the bride and bridegroom will be wed. It was fun time exploring what God was bringing. I hope you have fun exploring too.
"Who Do You Say I Am?" is The Spring episode 17. It is about us knowing Him and Him knowing us. He longs for us to know Him for who He really is, not just the perceptions we have had of Him. On the other hand, He also wants to know us in relationship. He knows everything about us, but He doesn't "know" us until we let Him, this only comes by spending intimate time with Him.
This weeks podcast is about being venerable in the time we spend with God. Its about really letting everything go and not being afraid of letting Him see us as we really are. Dancing in His eyes is a concept that seems scary, but I believe He loves to see us be exactly who we are. He wants to know us completely, which means letting ourselves be venerable and to be really seen by Him.
Podcast 15 is about throwing out our extremely "productive" way of relating with God. Its about understanding that we can take our time with Him, and that He has everything in His hands, so we don't have to rush and try to achieve things at the pace of this world just for the sake of it. He will prompt us when its time to move, but it comes out of us just being and resting in Him.
Podcast #14 is about dispelling the lie that God is the tyrant or the hard taskmaster. I find it interesting to read through the Psalms and to see the light and shade between the struggle and continually professing that He is good. So often we talk about the struggle and already have the "but You are good" line ready to spit out to God. Maybe this in response to the structure/form of the Psalms. Maybe its out of fear that we would be so bold to complain to God, and thus we need to cover it up quickly with praise. Either way, I do not think that He wants us to move away from owning the struggle that we go through, and I do not think that He wants us to apologise that we have the struggle in the first place by shifting it straight to praise synthetically. I would like to think that the greatest lesson we can learn from David and the other Psalmists is that we can come boldly and honestly to our Father with our troubles, doubts and despair, and we can then, through relationship with the Holy Spirit, transition into praise as He guides us into truth through His Word and His promptings.
Podcast 13 is about letting His light shine upon us. One of the lines talks about his light shining bright but soft to touch. It brought the sense that His light is tangible and His presence real. Its great spending time in worship and letting Him show us more of who He is.
The overarching theme of this week is the call of God for us to come into partnership with Him not only to release His redemption to people, but also to reconcile the earth to Him as well (Rom 8:18-26). He has called us to be a part of this, and I believe it is intimately connected with bringing freedom to His people. Sometime things need to be broken or awakened in the spiritual realm over a particular physical location before people can be fully set free. I hope this encourages you to be aware of what God may be speaking to you about your place in the world.
I've had a pretty crazy few weeks, so I apologise for the sporadic podcast posts. Here is the one from last week. This week is called,"Love to Look in Your Eyes." God woke me up at like 3am the other morning and I felt to do this worship session. So this is what came out. Enjoy!

This week I had an old song that my mum wrote on my heart, so I decided to worship over it for this episode. It was her birthday this week and it seemed timely that this song came on my heart.
Hey everyone! This podcast is a little late in the week, but we got there eventually. This week is about trusting and intimacy. The two go hand in hand. If we don't trust God, we aren't going to let Him get very close to us. We will be guarded and create distance between ourselves and Him. However, He continues to woo us and as we take steps to trust Him more and more, our intimacy can start to grow.
It really is just so good to lift God up in our worship and proclaim Him above everything else. Some familiar themes from previous weeks were flowing through the worship time this week. Some these themes were crying out to God to speak and letting Him know that we really do want to know what He has to say. His words bring life and we want Him to know that this is the spring of living water from which we want to drink every day. I love how God will continue to weave in similar words through a season and how He is fine to stay in a particular place until we grasp what He has for us.
This week's podcast is called Reservoir. Through the start of this year, I have had many prophetic words and songs about the amazing unique substance that God has in each of us, and how a lot of it is largely untapped. God wants to join with us and release all that He has placed in us. It is like a massive underground reservoir of His living water that He wants to come up and out , so that the thirsty can come and drink. He longs to unlock this reservoir in each of us as we spend time in His presence.
Episode #6 of The Spring podcast. I really feel like this week captured that place of peace and joy that I personally feel comes from continually sitting and spending time in His presence. Hope you enjoy.
This one is all on a wurlitzer :) I think you'll have a great time just soaking to this week. It goes a bit longer than usual. The time just seemed to float away haha.
The first keyboard podcast! Sometimes there is a season and grace for God calling us up and out of a place staleness. I feel like God was singing over his kids in this podcast. Speaking truth, dispelling lies, and calling out who we really are. Leading us into the realisation that we have a unique piece of who God is just by being, and that the world won’t see that part who He is until we come into the fullness of who we are. A big shout out to Alexander Foreman, some of the lines in the podcast came from a song that we wrote together.
(Updated track) This week's podcast really frames that leap of trust that we take when we first decide to really look into Jesus' eyes. This can be a quick process for some and this can take time for others, but He woos us so gently and with such care until we are ready to take that first peak. We can be so scared of what we are gonna find when look into His eyes, but boy is it worth when we do.
Week 2 already! This week the theme that seemed to develop was all about how much God wants us, loves us, and how he really sees us. It is about Him pursuing us, freeing us and then how amazing it is to respond to Him from that place.
In this first podcast I was still discovering how this was all going to work. At first I was going to record a session and then condense it. However, after recording the first sitting I realised that I needed to just upload the whole thing.
Some of the themes and lyrics that seemed to repeat in this first sitting were: "I wanna hear what you think (about it all)/ I wanna know what you've got to say/ I wanna see what you've got to bring"
"Coz a word (straight) from your lips/ is like a cool drink from your fresh spring"
It was really exciting to see that some of prophetic words I was singing out seemed to speak of the heart and vision of the entire podcast.
