A fun interview with friend and colleague Seth Rigoletti. Seth is a leadership communication coach. We discuss his new book Into The Wolf: What It Takes To Speak & Be Heard. Additionally you get to hear all the different endorsements I gave him to be included in the book which somehow mysteriously got deleted. And if you'd like to see how I've gotten revenge on Seth for doing that, follow me on instagramas there's a daily story devoted to that.
The stories within his book illustrate how Seth works with clients to be more self-aware and effective in how they communicate. This book asks us to make friends with our own “wolves:” those fears that keep us locked in habits of passive-aggressiveness, self-doubt, and avoidance.

The theme of the 2020 World Economic Forum was “The Great Reset”. They were referring to a reset of capitalism.
Don’t worry, this ISN'T a political post. It’s the furthest thing from it.
It’s about you, me and what we each have had an opportunity to do during the pandemic.
We’ve all had an opportunity to do our own “Great Reset”—personally and professionally. Reset meaning change and in this episode I unpack the changes I've made from 2020 to 2021 and beyond. Plus how you can do the same thing.

This episode of the pod kicks off 2021 a little different, it's a sample of my other podcast I host called The X Factor Podcast.
Here's a quick description of the show:
A coach & a Navy officer walk into a bar... Just kidding, they used to be a coach and an officer, now they're entrepreneurs and they walk into a podcast studio not a bar. But they do pour a glass of bourbon, sit down, turn on their mics and talk about what it takes to win at the highest level. Whether that's in a stadium, a nuclear sub, the business world or anywhere else for that matter. What does it take? It takes the X-Factor. Everyone wants it, few possess it and even fewer recognize it when they see it. These two guys will show you what it is and what it takes. Tune in (or don't).

We often brainwash ourselves into thinking “our business is different” or “our industry is different.” Or that political campaigning must be different than entrepreneurship. This misconception couldn't be further from the truth. The fundamentals are fundamental in every industry and when you can create a system, you bring calm to chaos and clarity to confusion.
Whether you’re a politician or entrepreneur, you’re in the same business. You’re first and foremost in the relationship business, then the business of whatever field you work in. A campaign, whether it’s a political campaign, a crowdfunding campaign or a business-development campaign is essentially a system with a clearly defined outcome, starting point and finish line.
In this episode we break it all down with guest expert Paul Weaver, who is a career educator (college professor) and is running a campaign for local office in his town.
NOTE: We do NOT discuss politics, merely the parallels between an election campaign and new business development. You'll IMMEDIATELY hear about numerous opportunities and strategies you previously hadn't considered.

An in depth interview with Steve Colfer, Head Coach of the 2019 NCAA Champion Cabrini University Men's Lacrosse Team.
In 19 seasons at the helm of the Cabrini men’s lacrosse program, Colfer has mentored the Cavaliers to 19 consecutive conference championships and 18 straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Colfer is a 13-time Coach of the Year and owns a commanding 284-72 career record. His .798 winning percentage ranks among the top 10 coaches of all-time in Divisions I, II and III.
In 2019, Colfer led the program to the University's first NCAA championship with a 16-12 victory over Amherst College. And in the process they closed the season on a 15-game win streak, finishing the season 22-2, one win shy of the NCAA record for wins in a season.

An in depth interview with perhaps the most controversial and widely misunderstood coach in America, Jason Brown. Jason is the star of the Netflix documentary series Last Chance U. Seasons #3 and #4 feature Jason and his team at Independence Community College.
We dive into how he is such a lightning rod and polarizing public figure, as well as WHY he's misunderstood. The conversation also turns to authenticity in a world of fakes as well as the fact that there's very little "reality" in reality TV.
We also discuss Jason's terrific new book Hate Me Now, Love Me Later as well as his time at Indy and the experience of being followed around by television cameras 24-7.
There are a lot of people I meet who I recommend write a book, most don't. Jason is one of the few who not only took the advice but also did it in record time. You get to see a VERY different side of the man in his book, I recommend you get yourself a copy here:

Intellectual Laziness is destroying our country. It's also destroying your team's results if you allow it. Stadium Status billionaires practice what I call The 60 Minute Rule. They invest at least an hour a day in learning.

The worst thing you can do is expect results. The best thing you can do is just put in the work, one step at a time based on a system with a track record of success. When you expect results to occur and they don’t magically appear your mind assumes nothing is happening. In reality a lot is actually happening, you just don’t see it.
This episode shows you that when it looks like nothing is happening is precisely when the most growth is actually taking place.
