Cameron Arnett was just getting his big start as a Hollywood actor, and was offered a great role. But there was just one problem...the role required him to compromise his integrity as a follower of Jesus. So he had to make a choice: Christ, or his career. Jeffrey Tenant worked for many years at McDonnell-Douglas (now Boeing). As a financial analyst in the very technical Department of Defense aerospace industry, he specifically asked the Lord for innovative ideas that would bless his company through his work. And God did not disappoint!
As a new analyst working on his very first project, the Lord gave Jeffrey wisdom on an idea. Then the Lord gave him miraculous favor that fast-tracked this idea from Senior Management all the way to the CEO, who approved and immediately implemented it!
On his next project, Jeffrey had another supernatural strategy that was once again approved and implemented extremely quickly. Before Peter Demos surrendered his life to God, his marriage was a ticking time bomb, only salvageable by divine intervention. This week's guest is Ellis Hammond, Founder of Kingdom Capitalists (a real estate mastermind group). Ellis talks about how he transitioned from being a full-time missionary and campus pastor to stepping full-time into business in the real estate investing sector. God showed Ellis that he had "superpowers" Ellis always had in a ministry context, that he could start using in a business context; aided by mentors with the wisdom to speak into that and draw it out. Ellis shares his journey of buying a duplex for his family in 2017 to only about a year raising $9.5 million in funds in his first-ever syndication deal.
Through God's leading, as of now Kingdom Capitalists has over $2 Billion (with a "B"!) under management. Though it looks slightly different for him now than it did before, Ellis and his fellow entrepreneurs have not changed their focus from serving God and expanding the Kingdom. Ellis's passion is still very much evangelistic, and is believing for many souls to be reborn and much Kingdom resources to be created through this new form of ministry.

3 months ago Chris and Bri Gordon were just about to close the deal on their first home, which they shared about in episode ABW 55 - Expecting God's Best During a Mess. Just a few days after that episode went live, Chris called me to tell me that the deal had fallen through at the last minute. It was completely unexpected and terribly disappointing. This week is Part 2 of last week's episode with James Rea. In this conversation, James shares how seeking God's Kingdom above all else turned what easily could have been business competition into collaboration and partnership. By choosing to serve another man's business, James became the Executive Vice President of this other person's business, while still retaining 100% ownership of his own business. This resulted a beautiful office to use for free, paid marketing/leads, and over 60 client events. These events had 3x the typical industry response/attendance rate, 1.5-2x the industry standard for follow-on appointments from the events, and closure rates significantly higher than industry standard.

Join Ryan in this episode of "A Better Way" as he interviews Blake Schallenberg from CoLabor Ministries about bringing Heaven to earth in and through business. Starting in 2009, seeing the desperation many business owners were experiencing during the Great Recession, Blake and others in his ministry expectantly prayed for businesses to experience breakthrough. Setting aside their own human thoughts and expectations, they simply asked the Holy Spirit what to pray for and listened to what He said. What resulted is beyond comprehension. There are so many testimonies I can’t possibly roll it all up here, but are a few highlights from several different businesses:
-A museum exhibit company that went from zero sales to 400% of average annual revenue within 90 days of receiving prayer, releasing the owner to sell the business at peak revenue and follow his dream of being a full-time pastor.
-Within 1 year of praying forgiveness over former employees who had stolen from them, a staffing business owner had a 970% revenue increase and placed 1600 jobs, 54% of which went to people with criminal backgrounds. They have now placed 10 times more jobs for former criminals than any of the city’s social services agencies.
-By praying and living from Heaven’s value system, Blake’s company has a closure rate 3x higher than their industry’s average, receive 98% of clients by referral, and 2.2x the industry average for revenue per client
There are numerous other examples of terminal conditions healed; lifelong dreams realized; families and businesses restored; miraculous transformation of individuals, employees, companies, and communities.

This week’s interview is with Judah Musick, a serial technology entrepreneur with a sincere drive to see demonstrable city impact through business. With a desire to see the simplicity and power of The Great Commandment (“Love God, Love Your Neighbor”) at work in his own backyard, Judah started the Community Impact Fund in Denver, CO.
One powerful testimony is when Judah went to a family’s house on Christmas Eve to deliver food. This family looked outwardly affluent but was in desperation because the husband had divorced the wife and left the family with huge debt. One of the daughters was anorexic and suicidal, and the mother was at her wit’s end. After Judah dropped off the food, the mother later told him that because of this practical demonstration of love, “God is real. He heard me; He sees me.” Within one month of this, $250,000 of donations were raised and there was a clear call to go further with this model.
This has also led to a larger effort to help businesses create Employee Care Programs that meet the previously unmet needs of their workforce, 30% of whom are in financial desperation. So far, they’ve had an 80% employee participation rate in the pilot program, with many more exciting things to come. This is an example of businesses demonstrating God’s love and transforming cities and communities by living out the Great Commandment.

This week’s episode is an interview with Jason Clark. Jason has been self-employed for 15 out of the last 20 years and has experienced times of amazing abundance as well as times of desperate circumstances. In one of these seasons of financial lack, God told Jason that “Desperation is illegal for a son or daughter of God”. As a result, Jason’s life and business demands a supernatural explanation for which only God can be credited:
- Just as Jason was about to give up God gave him a business idea that helped double his income every month for 6 consecutive months, and generated $500,000 in sales within that 6 months
- Jason’s family was forgiven of 18 months of non-payment of his mortgage and a $60,000 second mortgage for the home he still owns and now has equity in
- At a time when Jason was so broke he couldn’t afford a cup of coffee, a very wealthy friend who appeared to have everything confessed he was jealous of what Jason had and wished he could switch places with him because of the supernatural joy, peace, and freedom Jason exudes!
Jason’s one life message is this: “God is love; His love is always good”. Through this revelation, Jason has learned the secret to contentment in all circumstances by steadfastly believing in and saying “yes” to God’s perfect love and affection towards him.

In what has quite possibly been the most emotional interview for me personally, this week's episode is with Mike Sipe. This is another episode where Nathaniel Spiers is interviewing me (Ryan Haley) about my own testimonies that are part of the revelation that's birthed A Better Way.
After making a seemingly foolish decision to leave my growing real estate practice in the D.C. area and wait on God for three months to “drop something in my lap”, I met a highly successful serial entrepreneur who offered me a job at a technology startup company in beautiful Vail, CO. At the same time but independently, I was offered an amazing ministry opportunity in the same area. Despite a critical housing shortage in what USA Today ranked as “the most unaffordable county of the United States” at the time, before I moved there I was given essentially my own private wing of a $14 million mansion for monthly rent in the form of a $500 monthly tax-deductible donation.
Most importantly though, I had a much deeper revelation of God’s Grace and of Him as a good, good Father who cared more about my personal fulfillment as His son than dutifully serving as a cog in His divine wheel.

Jumping right in after last week's interview, this is another testimony from my own life that Nathaniel Spiers interviewed me about. It was originally one interview, but I split it into two parts because it was really two different stories.
This one is all about letting go of a situation once you've exhausted your own abilities and letting God take it over the finish line for you. In this particular instance, I describe a critical juncture of my life when I was getting out of the Navy and was under an extremely tight timeline trying to get a physical exam done to qualify for Veteran benefits once I separated from the military. After doing everything I possibly could to schedule this exam with the VA, it looked like it wasn't going to happen. I released it to God and ceased from my own striving, when literally at that exact instant of letting go and giving it to God, my phone rang and it was the exam scheduler!
I was able to get my exam done and in a miraculous, unusually short timeframe after getting off active duty I was receiving VA benefits. These VA benefits were a huge blessing because they gave me the passive income to have the financial freedom to pursue the things God has put on my heart for the last several years. This is a testimony of the fact that there is supernatural power and provision in ceasing from our own human effort and depending on God for our provision.

“He makes me lie down in green pastures” (Psalm 23:2). In this episode, Nathaniel Spiers interviews me about my testimony of submitting to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and forcing myself to take a two-week vacation (that I was worried would hurt my ability to generate business as a Realtor and cause me to miss opportunities). God was working while I was resting to give me what would be my biggest paycheck of all time.
The seller client was a family I was living with at the time, and the wife strongly encouraged me to take the vacation. When I got back she said that I “looked different” and for no apparent reason committed right then and there that whenever they sold their house, I would be their Realtor despite their previous plan to use the 30-year veteran Realtor who had helped them purchase that house.
Several months later this was my first listing ever, which sold for $825,000 within 6 days of being listed, to the perfect family we’d all been praying for! This resulted in a commission check of $24,750. By submitting to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and taking a “real rest” with Jesus (Mt. 11:28 MSG), I had been shown how to prosper greatly from embracing what Pastor Joseph Prince calls the principle of “restful increase”.

For this episode I am being interviewed by my close friend and fellow Grace junkie/radio show host Ed Melick on his show, called Grace in 30. For the first time, I wanted to share some of my personal journey on the show about my revelation of God's grace and rest and how that intersected the supernatural with the practical in my own life. Ed and I discuss my own journey from crashing a helicopter in 2007 and the amazing journey of my return as the former prodigal son to our Heavenly Father's loving arms.

By the way, that was in an area that USA Today ranked at the time as the most unaffordable place to live in the country! I couldn't even make this stuff up if I tried...but that's where God's grace and rest lead to the bottom-line results we always talk about on the show.

This is Part 2 of an audio recording from a Charis Bible College Business School class on the economy, taught by Paul Milligan. In Part 2 of this episode Paul gives his real-life testimony of how maintaining internal peace in the midst of external business chaos played out in an undeniably miraculous way. After having to lay off 65 employees overnight during a recession and loss of a major defense contract, Paul thought it was all over for his business. This is an inspiring follow-up testimony to a previous episode, “ABW 14 - Taking Back Family Entertainment”, with Butch Hartman ( listen at this link: https://anchor.fm/abetterway/episodes/ABW-14---Taking-Back-Family-Entertainment-e3ll6d) . In the previous episode from July 2018, Butch describes his Spirit-led journey out of Hollywood and Nickelodeon, to starting his own family-friendly entertainment network called Oaxis.
At the end of last episode, Butch made a bold declaration that they would collect the rest of the $250,000 total funding needed for the Kickstarter campaign. At the time of the last episode, they still had over $100,000 left. In this episode, Butch describes a miraculous “divine appointment” with an investor he met with for 45 minutes (and didn’t know at all before!) who felt led to contribute the last $30,000 needed to fund the campaign. This was incredibly timely, since the fundraising deadline needed to be reached within less than 6 hours from the time of the meeting. They went on to raise a total of $268,000 to surpass their goal. God truly is “the God of the Suddenly”! This serves as an amazing testimony of the power of declarations made in faith, “calling those things which do not exist as though they did” (Romans 4:17).

This audio recording is from a Charis Bible College Business School class on the economy, taught by Paul Milligan. Paul has been a founder and CEO of several multimillion dollar businesses, one of which now is publicly traded on the NASDAQ. Paul is also the CEO of Andrew Wommack Ministries and Director of the Charis Business School.
In this episode Paul contrasts the economy of the world (which is based on lack and scarcity) with the economy of the Kingdom of God, which is based on abundance. He then shares an amazing testimony from his own business in which he refused to take a bribe that could have made him millions of dollars, but by refusing the bribe he lost one of his biggest contracts and 85 employees. As a result of heeding the Word of God and the Holy Spirit against all human wisdom, it had the following practical results:
1) All 85 employees had their jobs back within 6 months, at his company or others
2) He avoided 8 years in prison (which is what the other people in the bribery scandal were later sentenced to)
3) He later got a formal letter of apology from the company that had previously offered the bribe, along with
4) A 5-year,exclusive defense contract (very rare for that industry), which
5) Made his firm 20 times more money than they would have made had he taken the bribe
Finally, Paul had the satisfaction of knowing he did the right thing and has an eternal reward in Heaven for trusting God when it cost him. As Paul says, "righteousness pays"!!
