This message explores the often-overlooked gift of myrrh and how it points directly to the cross. While Christmas is filled with joy, light, and celebration, myrrh carries a heavier meaning—one of suffering, sacrifice, and prophecy. Given at Jesus’ birth and present again at His burial, myrrh preached a silent sermon: this Child was born to suffer, serve, and save. From the manger to the cross, God placed the message of redemption in the cradle.
Through Scripture, we see Jesus revealed as the true Prophet who did not speak of suffering from a distance, but willingly walked into it. He chose humility, embraced the cost of obedience, and refused comfort so that salvation could be complete. Yet the story does not end in death—humility leads to exaltation, and the cross opens the doorway to glory. This sermon reminds us that real love always includes sacrifice, and that even in pain, God is present, purposeful, and redeeming.
This message explores the gift of frankincense brought by the Wise Men and how it reveals Jesus as our Great High Priest. Just as certain scents mark special moments, frankincense in Scripture symbolized holiness, prayer, and access to God. It declared that Jesus came not only to rule as King, but to reconcile humanity to God through His priestly role. From the very beginning, His identity and mission were recognized as One who would bring heaven and earth together.
Drawing from Hebrews, the sermon highlights Jesus as the High Priest we have always needed—sinless, compassionate, and fully able to sympathize with our weaknesses. Unlike earthly priests, His work was finished once for all, yet His intercession continues even now. Jesus still speaks on our behalf, extends mercy in our need, and opens confident access to the throne of grace. The gift of frankincense ultimately calls us to worship fully, pray boldly, and live with assurance, knowing our High Priest is alive and actively working for us.
In this Christmas message, we explore why the Wise Men brought Jesus gold—the gift reserved for kings. Their offering declared that Jesus wasn’t becoming a King; He was born King, worthy of honor, authority, and our very best. Their gift also showed how God perfectly provided for Jesus’ mission, just as He promises to supply every need in our lives.
This sermon calls us to let Jesus rule our hearts, homes, decisions, and finances. Just as the Wise Men invested in His mission, we’re invited to honor Christ through the Christmas Gift Offering and Heart for the House, giving not leftovers but our best to the King of Kings.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood before the most powerful king of their time, facing a fiery furnace. Their words, "But even if He does not..," show us that real faith isn't based on outcomes but on trust in God's sovereignty. True faith believes God is able, surrenders to His plan even when it hurts, and worships Him simply for who He is.
Like them, our greatest witness often comes in the fire, not around it. Trials can become testimonies when we refuse to bow to fear and trust that God's presence is with us in the heat.
