For more than 25 years, Joanne DiMaggio has been a student of esoteric studies. A professional writer with a background in advertising, public relations and marketing, she developed her writing skills at a very young age, writing plays as early as third grade. But what she also developed was her ability to write in an altered state of consciousness. At the age of 9, she said a prayer asking for guidance to develop a secret code she could use but her parents would not be able to read. Sitting with pen and paper under the bathroom sink, she closed her eyes, said her prayer and waited for guidance. She received her secret code--only to find out 25 years later that it was the Phoenician alphabet, dating back to 1000 B.C.

Today mystery and histroical author Florence Weinberg is the guest on my show. Florence has produced eight novels, ranging from fantasy to historical romance and mystery. Five are in print as well as one in press: three historical novels, a romance about the French Renaissance, published in France in French translation, a novel about the founding of San Antonio, and a third novel about the so-called Chamuscado/Rodriguez Expedition, in 1581, forty years after Coronado's. At the age of ten, Jennifer Archer made up her mind to become a writer. Then she grew up, became “sensible,” and earned a business degree with a minor in accounting instead. After years of trying to find her way through a confusing maze of debits and credits she realized that, for her, accounting was no more sensible than becoming a World Federation wrestler. So in 1993, she enrolled in a creative writing class, and five years later, sold her first novel. Since then, Jennifer has published several novels for adults, as well as numerous non-fiction works. Author of "The Canker DeathJames R. Bottino is a self-admitted computer geek and a creative writing teacher rolled into one. He earned a BS in English Education from Illinois State University and taught high school English in a suburb of Chicago for several years. After teaching all day, he studied creative writing in graduate school at Northern Illinois University. All the while, though, in the deep corners of the night, when no one was looking, he led a double life hacking and building computers and networks. Eventually, unbeknownst to him, word of his activities leaked out, and employment offers started coming in. In the end, he switched his hobby with his profession and became a senior computer / networking administrator for a scientific research laboratory. Just six months into this position, however, tragedy struck when, at the age of 31, James was diagnosed with cancer. Given ten to one odds of living out the year and knowing that his infant daughter would never remember him if he died, he began the fight of his life, enduring massive doses of chemotherapy that killed the cancer but nearly killed him as well

James R. Bottino is a self-admitted computer geek and a creative writing teacher rolled into one. He earned a BS in English Education from Illinois State University and taught high school English in a suburb of Chicago for several years. After teaching all day, he studied creative writing in graduate school at Northern Illinois University. All the while, though, in the deep corners of the night, when no one was looking, he led a double life hacking and building computers and networks. After years of struggle, he survived, but only after enduring systemic nerve damage from the treatments that left him permanently photophobic, phonophobic and with frequent difficulty in using his hands. Stephanie Osborn is the author of a new Sc-Fi mystery series, "The Case of the Displaced Detective" series, book oone of which is called "The Arrival". The Displaced Detective Series is a science fiction mystery in which the brilliant hyperspatial physicist, Dr. Skye Chadwick, discovers that there are alternate realities, and said alternates are often populated by those we consider only literary characters. Her pet research, Project: Tesseract, hidden deep under Schriever AFB, is her means of looking in on these continua. In one particular reality, continuum 114, a certain Victorian detective (who, in fact, exists in several continua) was to have died along with his arch-nemesis at the Reichenbach Falls. Knee-jerking, Skye intervenes, rescuing her hero, who inadvertently flies through the tesseract wormhole connecting his universe with ours, while his enemy plunges to his death. Unable to send Holmes back without causing devastating continuum collapse due to non-uniqueness, he must stay in our world and learn to adapt to the 21st century.
