This topic is very close to home for me, which is why I decided to speak to Brendan, another alienated father - so that we can speak out and hopefully help other fathers out there who are going through this.
Our judicial systems have failed us. They don't see fathers as important people and we are left out to sea like drift wood.
So what do we do when we face these issues? sit and observe? No. We learn more about this problem that fathers face and help others who are thinking of getting married so that they can look out for the red flags when they're thinking of getting married.
Who you have children with is very important - especially when it comes to a marriage breakdown and co-parenting is much needed to keep the children stable somewhat. But if the mother goes against the father, and shows anger and resentment towards them, it becomes an all out war to get to them through the children. This is when child abuse begins. We will call it out for what it is.
Refusing to allow a child to have good contact with his/her father is child abuse and a modern day version of kidnap. It has become legalized kidnap because the law is allowing this.
It's time we spoke up about this farce and raise awareness so that our children no longer have to suffer. We will not be silenced. We are fathers.

Welcome to our first Friday Night Show on Men's Mental Health - the podcast that delves deep into the often overlooked subject of mental health in men. Hosted by Farooq Name, this podcast provides a safe space for open conversations, shared experiences, and expert insights to empower men to prioritize their mental well-being.
In a world that often encourages men to suppress their emotions and adhere to societal expectations of strength and invulnerability, discussing mental health can be perceived as a sign of weakness. However, this podcast aims to challenge that narrative and shatter the stigma surrounding men's mental health.
Each episode of The Friday Night Show on Mental Health features thought-provoking interviews with mental health advocates, and individuals who have bravely confronted their own mental health challenges. Through their stories, we explore a wide range of topics, including depression, anxiety, stress, addiction, trauma, relationships, self-esteem, and personal growth.
Listeners can expect to gain valuable insights on various coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, and ways to cultivate resilience in the face of adversity. The podcast also addresses the unique societal pressures and expectations that men encounter, providing guidance on how to navigate these challenges while prioritizing mental well-being.
Whether you're a man struggling with your mental health, a concerned friend or family member, or simply interested in understanding the importance of men's mental well-being, The Friday Night Show on Mental Health offers practical advice, relatable stories, and inspiring conversations that foster understanding, empathy, and growth.
Join us on this transformative journey as we unravel the layers of men's mental health, challenge stereotypes, and create a supportive community dedicated to breaking the barriers that hinder emotional well-being.
Remember, it's okay to not be okay, and by engaging in conversations like these, we can redefine what it means to be a mentally healthy man.

In the past few years, during Ramadhan, I would read the Qur'an, put it down, read it again.. and the days would pass - but I felt this disconnect. Something had to change.
This year, 2022, I decided to read the Qur'an and then looked through the translation of the Qur'an, and then listen to the commentary via some videos online.
This method gave me a better view of the Surah I was reading. I felt: Connected.
So this is why I decided to record a few podcasts about my journey in the hope to allow you, the listener to start your own.
The Qur'an is our source for life. Not just to be read in Ramadhan and then left on our shelves to gather dust.
Make the Qur'an your companion today.

bu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said when the month of Ramadan arrived:
The month of Ramadan has come, a blessed month in which Allah Almighty has obligated you to fast. In it the gates of the heavens are opened, and in it the gates of Hellfire are closed, and in it the devils are chained, and in it is a night that is better than a thousand months. Thus, whoever is deprived of its good is truly deprived.

We need to talk about this. Someone out there, right now, is going through some sort of abuse.
If you're going through abuse, know that there are options and you need to get yourself out of a hole that only you can climb out of. You don't have to live like you currently do because you deserve better.

When we help others, especially through hardships, Allah will surely help us - without a doubt.
Allah loves that we are kind to others - check out this Hadith on helping others:
Abu Nu’aym reported: Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Admiration is part of faith and envy is part of hypocrisy. The believer admires others and does not envy others. The hypocrite envies others and does not admire others. The believer overlooks the faults of others, admonishes others, and gives good advice. The hypocrite disgraces others, insults others, and betrays others.”

This episode continues with the Stories of the Prophets: Destined for Greatness: Prophet Yusuf A.S
Since Prophet Yusuf had his dream that night, he knew he was destined for greatness - even though he had brothers that envied him. Every turn in his life seemed like it was faced with difficulty. He was betrayed by his brothers, sold as a slave, and unjustly imprisoned.
He carried on regardless, praising and thanking Allah and asking for help. Without a complaint in sight. Yusuf knew by just focusing on being the best he could, treating people right and with respect, doing more than what was requested that Allah would take care of him.
*“There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was the Qur’an a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and guidance and mercy for a people who believe.” – Surah Yusuf Ayah 1*

"There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart." Sahih Al-Bukhari 52
In this episode, we talk about protecting the heart and why it is an important part of faith - especially when it comes to the shaytaan and his deception. We must find ways to strengthen our fortress and not invite him in.
So what can we do to protect ourselves?
We turn to Allah and the Qur'an and Sunnah - we turn to those things that keep shaytaan away. We turn to prayer and remembrance of Allah - for that is where hearts find peace.

Hope my listeners are doing well In-Sha-Allah! :)
This episode covers what we can prepare ourselves for on the Day of Judgement when we are in front of Allah with our good deeds.
Just like we need lawyers for big cases, who will fight for us whilst we remain silent or cannot say anything, we can also have intercessors that will be our voice on that Day.
A person passing away in Madina is a great virtue and allows our Prophet Muhammad SAW to intercede for that person, but this may seem almost impossible for some of us, but do not worry, for there are other things that will intercede for us, such as our fasting, recitation of the Qur'an, having righteous friends, etc which is covered in this podcast.
May Allah allow us all to enter Jannah without reckoning - Ameen!
I ask that you remember me in your du'as and may Allah accept our efforts to draw everyone close to Him.

This episode covers the Day of Judgement and provides reminders to myself and my listeners about preparing for when we leave this world.
Narrated Anas:
A man asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will be with those whom you love." We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (i.e., "You will be with those whom you love.") Therefore, I love the Prophet, Abu Bakr and `Umar, and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs. - Sahih al-Bukhari 3688

In this episode, I talk about Mental Health, and how we must address it within the Muslim community and our families.
There are remedies within Islam and just as we seek help from the doctor for physical problems or healing, we must also seek professional help for the mind if necessary.
Therapy can start at home, or with a friend you can trust - but if it is not within their capacity to help you, you should seek help through the Qur'an and Sunnah, through prayer, and also consider professional help.
Muslim scholars are only recently starting to address this in the correct manner, and inshallah we can tackle this properly by acknowledging it as being an issue.
I hope you take benefit of the podcast as much as I did because this is still a learning process for me. May Allah guide us to the correct methods of healing and grant us Shifa - Ameen.

In this episode, I talk about - The first of the Greater Sins: Shirk.
Associating anything or anyone with Allah is a major sin and there is no salvation for anyone who follows polytheism.
Allah says in the Qur'an:
“Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with him, and forgives what is besides that to whomsoever He pleases, and whoever associates anything with Allah, he devises indeed a great sin.” (Surah an-Nisā’ 4:48)And for those who are polytheists, Jannah is forbidden:
“Surely whoever associates (others) with Allah, then Allah has forbidden to him the garden, and his abode is the fire; and there shall be no helpers for the unjust.” (Surah al-Mā’ida 5:72)
So what must we refrain from that we do in the daily lives that could lead us to commit shirk?
Are we even aware of some of the 'indirect' or 'unknown' shirk that we see today that individuals are doing and calling it normal or OK to do?
Make sure you listen to this podcast from start to finish - I've added some great points for you to be aware of and also we must affirm our faith daily as mentioned in this Hadith:
Repeat Daily: YAA MUQALLIBAL QULOOB THABBIT QALBEE 'ALAA DEENIK
Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would often say, “O Turner of the hearts, affirm my heart upon Your religion!” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, we believe in you and in that with which you were sent. Do you fear for us?” The Prophet said, “Yes, for the hearts are between the fingers of Allah. He turns them whichever way He wills.”

We all want Paradise, but are we working for it?
Are we acting like we are dwellers of Paradise?
If you want to book your place there, work for it now and show that you are a worthy inhabitant!
Anas b. Malik reported: The Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations. Sahih Muslim

Alhamdulillah, this episode is all about starting something you're passionate about.
We all procrastinate one way or the other, but putting pen to paper and starting something with Bismillah is better than doing nothing at all and waiting on it.
I remember when I started this podcast, I had nothing. No vision, no purpose, nothing.
I'm just a guy standing in front of a mic, asking the mic to accept him - haha that was an altered movie quote from Notting Hill. -but seriously, there's nothing to it. You just gotta bite the bullet sometimes and go for it.
The only thing that is stopping you is yourself.
As part of helping startups that assist individuals with their life purpose and bringing them closer to Allah, I'm going to team up with you and throw some ideas your way. All you have to do is submit your idea via my contact page and we'll touch base and discuss it further In-Sha-Allah.

In episode 35, we try something different - I feel like we are much due for some reminders because of the covid situation and we're all just tired. Tired of life in general and not feeling like getting out of bed sometimes or just wanting to give up on life.
If you're depressed, stressed out, anxious about the uncertainties ahead, listen to this podcast.
See this is where we're tested the most. Who do we turn to when times are bad? What do we turn to? We need to build our strength back and jump on that horse and keep going!

In this podcast, I talk about how important it is to live as a Muslim in this day and age.
We must respect everyone around us whether they are Muslim or not. We must not think we are superior to any human being. Our character speaks volumes so we should read about the life of Prophet Muhammad SAW and implement the teachings into our lives.
The Qur'an and the Sunnah are the best sources for us to live by and to live simply as good human beings.

Naseem is back in this great episode as she interviews Kenzie. Kenzie shares her wonderful story about coming into Islam. She has a great revert community around which helped her transition into Islam.
Before Kenzie took her Shahadah, she was involved with the Muslim community as she explains "climbing a mountain". She also shares her challenges with having her family question her reversion and also having been impacted by a relationship with a Muslim. Nevertheless, she found Islam when she eventually climbed that mountain and "could she see clearly".
Knowing about your faith is one of the fundamental aspects and Kenzie shares this so well with her message. "We're so caught up with judging people over little things". Great discussion with Naseem who raises some great points about Islam and women's rights.
"We need Allah" - A Great Message to conclude on.

Part two of this topic is here! Have a listen to this great podcast regarding the Islamic Perspective of the Law of Attraction. Inshallah, we will upload more content similar to this.
It is important to emphasize that Allah controls everything that is in the Heavens and the Earth and we submit to Him alone. Don't fall victim to this "secret" everyone is talking about because it will simply lead you down a path of disbelief.
Allah is our Provider, Our Creator, Our Sustainer, The Most Merciful, Most Kind.
Let us not lose sight of this. May Allah guide us all and keep us steadfast in our Deen - Ameen

In this episode - we talk about the Law of Attraction. Something that has been around for so many years, and almost caught me off guard when I started reading it. But there is a hidden message within that will be revealed as you look further into it. Something I decided to talk about and now did a podcast on the very subject!
This will be the first of many In-Sha-Allah on this subject so stay tuned!
Remember that guidance comes from Allah and we are nothing without Him.

In this episode, I discuss toxic relationships in our daily lives. Whether that be a spouse, family member, or friend, we will come face to face with someone toxic - and we may not even know it. Better to prepare oneself to overcome these types of characters and seek guidance from Allah to open a path for you.
Toxic people can impact you on an emotional, psychological, mental, and physical aspect - which is why you need to look after number one - YOU.
May Allah assist those who are going through these types of relationships and help them to a better quality of life - Ameen!
If you or someone you may know is going through a toxic relationship, ensure you reach out to your support circle, family, and friends to help you. It is also advisable to seek professional help through counseling services. While doing this, also seek help and guidance through istikhara (prayer) and Allah will open the door for you In-Sha-Allah.

In this new episode for 2021, Naseem interviews Kay who shares her life experiences and journey to Islam.
Kay is a pre-school teacher and a Muslim Revert for 4 years Alhamdulillah. Her life was chaotic and unstructured. She grew up around Lutheran and some Paganism.
She understood through nature around her that there was a "Creator" and this life isn't just as it is. And as she progressed through life, what she did in church etc, nothing was making sense to her. She started to disbelieve in anything.
But then she discovered Islam through educating herself, and with having to live in Kenya, she was able to live around Muslims, hear the call of the prayer and that allowed her to start something different.
This is a great episode for your playlist - have a listen and share!

In this episode, I discuss how we are literally brainwashed throughout our lives to be self-sufficient, self-empowered, etc which is, directly and indirectly, removing Allah from the equation. This can have a huge impact on our belief in Allah.
We must remind each other that nothing is possible without the Will of Allah.
We're going to close 2020 with this episode, and I hope you take benefit and share it with others. Let us not be of those who forget our purpose.
As mentioned in the Qur'an regarding Allah:
It is You we worship and You we ask for help. (1:5)
We need Allah, He doesn't need us. We are created to worship Allah alone.
Part of strengthening our deen and learning more about Islam, allows us to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong.
May Allah guide us all. Ameen

Meet Danyel. Danyel is a very new Muslim (reverted in November 2019) and started out working for an Islamic Kindergarten. Here, she was initially afraid of her surroundings and then saw Islam for what it really was - a beautiful, peaceful religion through the eyes of innocent children who showed their passion for learning new things about Islam. She gradually learned more about Islam and made a decision to take her Shahadah. But being a Muslim wasn't easy for Danyel. Receiving backlash from family members, especially her Grandma, was and still is emotional for Danyel. Although she is feeling this initial resentment from her family members, Danyel is passionate and steadfast in her faith and Trust in Allah. She understands this beautiful gift she has been given by Allah, and nothing supersedes that.
