In a 2-part Worthington ISD #518 Education Forum, Radio Works Jared Rademacher talks with Communications Coordinator Parker Sandhurst. First we talked about the upcoming November vote and what questions will be on the ballot. After that we talked about Back to School Conferences and the upcoming All Sports Eligibility Meeting on Tuesday (8/6) at Worthington High School
ISD #518 Superintendent John Landgaard came out to the Radio Works headquarters to talk about what happens during the summer to prepare for the upcoming school year, summer time programming and the latest referendum questions in the next vote.

We talked about Alternative Learning Days and how the district is working to make those days the most effective and efficient as possible for students and teachers.

Minnesota West's Le Lucht came out to the Radio Works Headquarters to talk about an event on the Minnesota West-Worthington campus coming up on Thursday (3/7) as The Culture Corner (Through Minnesota West and the Nobles County Integration Collaborative) present The U Turn, the third documentary in Luis Argueta's immigration trilogy that will be shown at the Minnesota West's Fine Arts Theater on Thursday at Noon and 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Gwendolyn Middlebrooks will be speaking on Tuesday, January 22nd at Noon at the MN West Fine Arts Theater on the Worthington campus. She is an original member of the Atlanta Student Sit-In Movement (1959-1960) and she used to work as a babysitter for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

Radio Works Jared Rademacher talks with John Krisel, who will be speaking at the Center for Health and Wellness on the Minnesota West Worthington campus at Noon on Wednesday, November 14th. The event is free and open to the public.
In 2006 Kriesel was nearly blown to shreds by a 200-pound roadside bomb in the parched sands of Iraq, but battlefield angels in army uniforms kept him breathing long enough to reach a field hospital. He died three times and was shocked back to life. Somehow he survived through four hospitals, 35 surgeries and months of recovery. He lost both legs and suffered numerous other major injuries, but it was the loss of two close friends that hurt the most.
The guy who wasn’t supposed to survive and was told he probably would be in a wheelchair the rest of his life walked out of Walter Reed Army Medical Center after nine months. Working with author Jim Kosmo, Kriesel reveals his motivational story in “STILL STANDING: The Story of SSG John Kriesel,” winner of eight national book awards.
