Marie found herself broken open to the word of God in 1993 after tragedy befell her life: her six-year old son was shot, a victim of inner-city gang violence; her father was found murdered and buried in a shallow grave; there was even a revelation that her children were experiencing sexual abuse at the hands of her then-husband. Trying to cope with the enormity of the trauma and tragedy present in her life, Marie battled addiction until the sweet voice of God’s word pulled her out of the darkness. Now standing strong in her recovery, Marie is a successful insurance broker and works with groups such as the NAACP, Denver’s District Attorney’s office, and the Colorado Rockies owners to help establish a non-profit that will fight the plight of homelessness, drug addiction, and at-risk youth. All this happened after Marie found the power of prayer and the power of God’s love and mercy. Her ministry consists of short meditations and prayers that Marie has written in the hopes that it will inspire others to find faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and know that He walks by your side, no matter how dark the road gets.
