To celebrate the 3rd anniversary of our podcast, USA Judo, USJF and USJA decided to end the American judo alliance agreement. We talk about how things have gone and what we have done the past 3 years with this Judo podcast. Not missing a single episode the past 3 years and putting out fun content for our fans every two weeks. What an interesting ride it's been the past 3 years to episode 75. As we hope to produce even more content for many more years. We then go into talking about one of the first tournaments that was held last year after the pandemic lock downs and restrictions lifting, the changes and improvements they made to it this year. In episode 74 of Tatami Talk with Juan and Anthony. We talk about the UFC 285 fight between Tabatha Ricci and Jessica Penne. With Tabatha Ricci using her underrated Judo skills to get the win over the BJJ black belt Jessica Penne. We then go into talking about the One Championship grappling match at One Fight Night 7. Between Danielle Kelly a BJJ black belt and Ayaka "Zombie" Miura a Judo black belt. We give our opinions on the match. As well as the One Championship grappling rules. What we thought of it and who we thought won the match. We finished up talking about certain misconceptions about Judo. Misconceptions about weakness and exaggeration in some judo techniques. Like back taking and holding on to the person while you're being thrown. As well as the difference between getting thrown on a soft mat, compared to concrete, asphalt and dirt. A Kazakhstani judo player bit a Belgium judo player on the calf well trying to escape an armbar. We then go into the -57kg finals in Tel Aviv. With an all Canadian final. Where Klimkait finally beat Deguchi with a throw. But with it not being without some controversy in the end. We finish up talking about the Clarisse Agbegnenou comeback troubles. Some of you may or may not know but she signed a sponsorship deal with Mizuno, but the French national team is sponsored by Adidas. At this tournament she decided to wear her Mizuno sponsored Gi.
