But we do think grace in our lives go a long way during the busiest of seasons! We are praying for safety, happiness and great harvests over your families. Until next time!
Welcome back as we end the week with some farm safety.Agriculture ranks among the most hazardous jobs in the world.Farmers are at very high risk for fatal and nonfatal injuries; and farming is one of the few industries in which family members (who often share the work and live on the premises) are also at risk for fatal and nonfatal injuries.Did you know about 84 kids die each year in accidents on farms, according to a new study, and 26,570 are injured badly. That is why it is so important to us not only as Farmers, but as Mothers to educate those on our operations, our kids and to all of you! You can never have enough education on safety in our eyes.
When tragedy struck Hunter Pinke's life at a young age of 22, the thought "Why Me?" Only crossed his mind for a couple days. With the help of the verse Proverbs 16:9 that the Lord showed him months before his accident, he was able to flip his mindset as has said "Why not me?" for over the last 1300+ days.Listen in to his story and how he is taking on life in a new mindset and using the new door God has opened for him.Find him below:https://www.instagram.com/hunter_pinke/https://www.hunterpinke.com/Follow his Mom:https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=katie%20pinke%2C%20the%20pinke%20post

Hey! We are back, thanks for understanding life is bonkers right now in the heat of harvest. We all wear so many hats, sometimes one title just doesn't fit each of us!

We are proud of you for being brave enough to get where you are! "Remove yourself from people who treat you like: your time doesn't matter, your feelings are worthless and you are replaceable!"

Look....no matter how strong we think we are, we always need somewhere to vent, voice frustrations or wins in the week and to hear someone else has felt the same. Sure our husbands are our best friends, but sometimes having another woman on the other end of the line and saving your husband more added stress is super important. Reach out to your friends, let them be your vault and bring yourself that added happiness from repour with another human. Phone a friend y'all, make the time in your busy day and do it.

Unrealistic expectations, Imposter Syndrome, Comparison, Unworthiness....all things we are sure you may have felt at some time as well. We have both felt we have dis credited what we do everyday in our homes and lives to the point that it makes you mentally struggle. This episode is pretty raw and made us feel better to get it off our chests.
We apologize for the kids making noise but this is the real reel for us both! A chatty two year old and a baby row who loves his momma!

This one may sound a little funny at first with the intros, but this is our speech for Cultivating Courage 2021, the women in ag event that Whit hosts every year.
We hope you enjoy and begin to realize every choice we make is ours. And that we have to stop playing victim to the things that happen to us. We are always one choice away from something better or more positive. "If you don't like where you're at move. That's how feet work!"
Enjoy!

"Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety. It also plays a role in preventing the development of mental health problems and in improving the quality of life of people experiencing mental health problems." “Time is non-refundable, use it with intention”
We are in the midst of winter time and Motherhood: the struggles, guilt, balancing acts and time crunches. Its a short chat but one we both needed to talk out together. We hope whatever season you are in you know you aren't alone, and each day that passes is still a blessing!

Whitney's back, back again! Harvest is over in Kansas but still rolling on in Missouri. We pray you all are finishing stronger than you started and are feeling grateful in whatever season you are in. We salute the THEYS on the operations this episode and are thankful for those folks on our operations, we hope you take a second and appreciate those people too! Holidays are upon us and with covid could make things more challenging. We pray you take some time to take some deep breaths, slow down and appreciate the little things in life because one day or a year from now may seem like big things. See you in two weeks :)

Wow, its been a while! Kylie and Whitney are both in the trenches of Harvest 2020 as we are sure most of you are as well.
We haven't had the extra time or energy to catch up for a podcast quite yet so we thought we would improvise. Whitney hosted a women in ag event, cultivating courage at the beginning of 2020 and had several amazing speakers. We thought to get you a couple episodes we would share our speeches, Part 1 is Whitney and Business owner, Farm wife and soon to be momma Katie Dowson.
Thanks for your loyalty and understanding the craziness of farm life.
Enjoy!

We are know how much the weather can affect us as farmers. Seems we are gamblers and the weather is the dealer. To plant and tend to seeds solely on our faith that God will provide the right amount of rain and the right amount of sun is what farming is. And when things unpredictable happen and take away what we have worked so hard for, its a hard uncontrollable pill to swallow. So we are sending out big prayers to all the farm families and folks struggling in Iowa currently. If you have missed it on the news (mainly because it hasn't been recognized) August 10th 2020 the Midwest, mainly Iowa was hit strongly by Derecho, hurricane like winds that took out crops, homes, grain bins and so much more. We welcome back Kylie with big virtual arms. She is back from vacation and ready to talk all things hard in the mom-ing department. Seasons and circumstances change in life as Moms and it also brings new hard situations to face. Crops are struggling in Kansas, but thriving well in Missouri! We hope wherever you are your crops are growing well in 2020 and if not that you are controlling what you can and staying as positive and grateful as possible. We also hope that whatever season you are in and struggling with as a momma, you are not alone. We are always here for you and praying each other stronger! This pandemic has proven to make it tough to feel your feelings freely and not fear judgment or shame, but here at the MWFW podcast we are behind whatever decisions you make and choose kindness and acceptance, even if its different than our own opinion!
We chatted a few favorite podcasts we currently have listened to, so here they are: Pioneer Tour podcast- https://bit.ly/32MCP4p Grace and Growth with Addie- www.addieyoder.com Moving on podcast- https://www.movingonpodcast.com/

Welcome back friends! Kylie and her sweet family are on vacation this week, but i still wanted to be able to chat and bring you some light so I had a friend guest co host with me! Mrs Amanda Nigg from South Dakota. Amanda and her family have been through more trials in the past year than any of us would ever like to see. Their home burnt to the ground and all their belongings, memories and valuables inside with it. She is a truly amazing woman and lights up the social media world!
We wanted to talk today about toxic people, toxic relationships and how its ok to want to leave them. Living in today's age and so much unknown makes us appreciate our lives, our health and positive uplifting people more than ever. So wanting a break from the toxicity is understandable and e have both been through it. We hope this makes you feel a little less alone and more brave to protect your "circle".

Hey y'all. We are back and this episode we are chatting some deep topics: deepening our faith, embracing our current season and growing right where we have been planted! We truly hope you enjoy this episode and feel right at home chatting with us. Kylie and I needed this chat with one another more than we thought.

Welcome back, this episode we talk something we both feel advocating for is important- SAFETY.
Not only do we as mothers try to learn scenarios, tips and get advice for farm safety but we like to research on our own as well. Midwest Farm Wives teamed up with PERC (Propane Education and Research Council). They have an amazing website for kids and parents both. Listen to this episode as we chat #safetysunday tips that Whitney hosts each Sunday and some propane safety on the farm or ranch.

Above are two very good links: One for kids to learn, play and interact. And the other for info and tips for adults!

We have both been busy and too honestly didn't have a great topic this week so we thought we would chat our farm planting updates, some government assistance happening currently, life in general and our upcoming Safety episode we are both very passionate about. Hot and heavy into planting and the busy growing season in MO and KS for us. So we figured what a good time to chat ways to be a better farm wife and also the things NOT to say to the farmer in your life. Just a light hearted episode and planting update from us both. Happy PLANT2020 and into GROW2020 to you all.

"Be strong now, because things will get better. It might be stormy now, but it cant rain forever." Welcome back! In this episode we discuss plant 2020 and some current events. As always we chat that limiting your news and keeping a positive and grateful outlook on life will keep a smile on your face. Times are tough but so are farmers. We fully understand and feel how hard 2020 has been and will continue to be. But we are planting seeds because we believe in tomorrow! ( Our friend Amanda Radke has a great tee with this saying on it) Have a happy and safe planting season from the Eppersons and Larson crew!

Here we are entering the time when we do it all alone while our husbands are in the field. But hey we were made for this right? This social distancing farm life? Well we seem to think so. And we also truly believe approaching each season and time in life with gratitude and extra optimism is how we cope. Do we still have bad days or not so okay times? Of course we are human, but we don't un pack and live there for long. We feel those feelings accept it wasn't a good day and realize that its still a good life. Fail forward and keep finding the light in all the dark friends. #stillfarming

Welcome back friends! This episode we talk about how farmers feel the farm defines them. We want every farmer to understand that they are more than the farm. They are important, loved and so appreciated! We welcome a special guest Kate from Uptown Farm who wrote the blog, Farmer you're not the farm. As always stay grateful friends!
"So I need you to hear me again - YOU ARE NOT THE FARM.
You are a man who works harder than anyone I know. You are a man who is honest to a fault. You are a man who always finds new ways, better ways. You are a man who can keep the big picture in mind while maintaining laser focus on the details. You are a man who quietly, and humbly, prays for God to help you on the tasks he’s laid before you.
You’re a husband. A father. A son. A brother and an uncle. You are a farmer, a damn good one too, but you are not defined by the farm.
Your family and friends - we love you, regardless of your corn yield or planted acres or the price you sell your calves for."

Hey guys, I'm sure like the rest of you we have had so many highs and lows mentally in the last two weeks and we just wanted to chat some ways we have coped. Staying positive in such an unknown time is really hard but very necessary for your mental health to stay at its best! We are praying for each of your families health and well being during the duration of 2020.
"The lord is near, do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Welcome back! This episode we chat on how we advocate for agriculture to bridge gaps between producer and consumers.
The funny thing people seem to overlook is that we as producers are also consumers. We mothers shop and have the options to choose in the grocery store as consumers as well. We share our story to try and bridge these gaps, bust some myths and bring light to how amazing we feel Agriculture is!
We also interview Brandi Buzzed on advocacy and fear based marketing as well.
You can find her here- https://www.facebook.com/BuzzardsBeat/ or Instagram @brandibuzzard
We feel she is a great advocate for the beef industry and are humbled she took time to be on today!

This episode definitely goes out to all our Working/ Stay at home Momma friends and listeners this week. As Kylie and Whitney struggle in their own day to day guilt as moms, wives and home makers we decided to chat it out and let you know its OK to not always feel OK. What you are doing in your current season is enough, do what you can with what you got and keep failing forward! Remember to always stay grateful even when times are hard. Even the smallest gratitude can make up for a pretty crummy day.

This episode we chat the Missouri trip. The tour of the farm, hogs and much more. We also hit on some topics trending right now; the super bowl performance and the state of union.
While our farms are so very alike we found out our differences as well. It was nice to be able to chat farm life, social life and parenthood free of any shame or judgement. Wish the world was filled with much less judgement and a lot more happiness and acceptance of others differences. "Lighting another candle off your own candle does not take away any of your own flame." We challenge you today and this week to even if you disagree with someones operation, beliefs or the way they do something to accept it is their decision to make and maybe offer a compliment in another area of their life!

Hey friends and welcome back to our 2020 season of podcasting. This episode we are going to discuss living with an abundant mindset vs a scarce mindset. We think this applies to life in general and we compare to our farm lives. In a nutshell someone with an abundant mindset is an optimist and is genuinely happy for others when they are successful. Those with a scarcity mindset are competitive, jealous and resent others success. "The secret to having it all is believing you already do."

As most of you know we began this journey without ever meeting in person. Building a relationship via Instagram and daily texts. Well we finally got to meet up in Nashville last week. To say we hit it of and had a blast would be an understatement. Love at first sight? Haha maybe for best friends. Our husbands equally enjoyed one another and all the farm talk, which made it bitter sweet! We want to say happy holidays and new year to all of our listeners, and as always thank you so much for your support!

Hello and welcome back to PART 1 of a 2 PART series. This week we are chatting all things mental health. It can get deep on some levels, but is all so real and raw that it is a must listen to men, women and adolescents alike. Going through tough things is hard enough in itself ,let alone trying to battle it all alone. Because for some that is what it is a daily battle. And we are here to tell you, you are not alone. You are not crazy, over sensitive or anything you may have heard before. We support each of you in every battle you are fighting and pray you can overcome it. "Just keep swimming, Mental health isn't a battle to be won, it is a journey to continue walking. There is someone or something our there worth swimming for." In this episode we reference our friend Jessica Peter and the work she is doing with Secrets of Ag. https://docs.google.com/forms/... Please go to the above link to partake in her amazing effort to feel someone else less heavy.

Hey y'all! Back to single seasonal mom life! In this episode we chat about preparing for harvest. We explain what our roles are during harvest and then we offer some life hacks and tell you a little about our operations during the harvest season. The one thing we want to emphasize is whatever you feel during the harvest season, you are for sure not alone. And please please, don't fall into the comparison game of another farm wife doing something more of less than you. "Its OK for someone to else to do more than you or even less than you and its especially OK for them to do things differently" -farmwifeguru Listener review from apple podcasts- 5 stars! If you are looking for a bright and uplifting podcast to listen to look no further. Whitney and Kylie are two farm wives who keep it real and always look for a silver lining in life. The lessons they have learned from farming are so valuable, that can and should be applied to everyone's life, farmer or not. I love that they don't pretend to be perfect and end each podcast with a positive quote. If you are feeling down, turn on their podcast for a dose of positive energy and encouragement. You wont be disappointed. -Jackie O. As always thanks for listening friends!
