We start into the chapter that deals with the end times, the return of Christ and the advent of the man of lawlessness. We will look at some principles that we will help us as we consider this issue.

Paul warns the church not to quench the Spirit, or despise prophecies, rather we are to test everything and hold onto what is good.

Coming towards the end of this letter Paul challenges us to get behind our leaders and to always do good to others always.

As we continue our study of 1 Thessalonians we think about the challenge for us to love others. This is not a message about loving those we like, but loving those we don’t like and allowing God’s love change us.

As we dig into 1 Thessalonians we look at how the recipients of the letter received the word of God, treated the word as the word of God and allowed it to work in their lives. We are to do the same, the big question is if we have the same attitude?

Following on from the tabernacle we look at the pattern given to us when Jesus taught His disciples how to pray.

We move from the holy place and stand on the threshold of the Holy of Holies, and consider our great High Priest - Jesus who has made the way for us to enter in.

This morning we are moving into the holy place and consider the covering of the tabernacle. We go through some of the steps in preparation we need to take before coming into God’s presence.

We go further into the outercourt of the tabernacle, using the tabernacle as a pattern for drawing closer to God. The bronze basin is like God’s word, helping to cleanse us.

We continue considering the tabernacle and we start with an overview of the tabernacle and enter through the gate and come to the altar of sacrifice.

Continuing to look at the tabernacle of Moses we consider, we looked at the pattern that was given for building the tabernacle, down to the implements and furniture. We also look at how the tabernacle was to be provided for. We will build on this next week and journey through the tabernacle to discern the pattern set down for drawing close to God.

Having looked at putting away mixture in our lives, forgiveness and the impact of unforgiveness join us as we begin considering our approach to drawing close to God. We are going to look at the tabernacle of Moses over the coming weeks as a pattern for us drawing closer to God. This is an essential step on the road to consecration.

This instalment considers the practicality of forgiveness. If we are obliged to forgive then how are we to do this. We look at debt that needs to be released when someone has transgressed. Listen in as we continue in the journey to be a consecrated church.

In the sixth instalment of this series we continue to wrestle with the implication of forgiveness and un-forgiveness and the implication for us living a consecrated life. If we are to move forward we need to address the really important issue of forgiving those who have hurt us.

Consecration means taking stock of where we are and what we need in order to move forward together. In this instalment we look at the critical issue of forgiveness. The lack of forgiveness is an issue that will stop us in our tracks. Join us as we continue in this journey of consecration.
We continue looking at the implication of consecration and look at 2 Timothy 2:20-21. This passage describes how we are to actively clean ourselves and how this makes us useful in the master’s hand.

In the third instalment of this series we consider the example of Jacob. On his way back to Bethel Jacob stopped and consecrated himself and his household. He did this before coming to Bethel. Again we apply this example to our lives in the context of consecrating ourselves.
In the second instalment of this series we look at the life of Gideon. Before Gideon responded to the call of God, he had to deal with the idolatry that was in his life. This gives us an example of consecration in action.
Preparations for the New Year 1 We are starting a series that seeks to set out direction for DCC as we face into a new decade. In this first instalment we deal with the need for consecration in the Church. This means on an individual level and corporately we get rid of anything from our lives that shouldn’t be there.
Matthew 28:18-20 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Joshua 7:1 1 But the people of Israel broke faith in regard to the devoted things, for Achan the son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things. And the anger of the Lord burned against the people of Israel.
Joshua 7:13 13 Get up! Consecrate the people and say, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow; for thus says the Lord, God of Israel, “There are devoted things in your midst, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted things from among you.”

They are not hidden from me, nor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. 18 But first I will doubly repay their iniquity and their sin, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable idols, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.”
