Target China - A Careers Forum - Video

On the evening of February 12, the Careers Service connected 127 UCL students from China and Hong Kong with representatives from 6 participating organisations recruiting for roles in their home countries or the UK.

Target China started with a panel discussion in the Old Refrectory where representatives from IBM and Mayer Brown JSM helped students navigate their global careers. Before and after the panel, all participants were welcomed by the calming sounds of traditional erhu music from UCL's own Nicolas Wang. A special thanks also goes to UCL student Evelyn Yip, who volunteered her time to assist with marketing before the event and registration on the night.

After the forum, the event then moved to the North Cloisters where students made the most of their networking opportunities with BDO Stoy Hayward, Harvey Best, IBM, Linklaters, Mayer Brown JSM, PriceWaterhouse Coopers. Harby Janagol from Harvey Best said it was the human connection that a student can make at a networking event such as this that could make the difference in a successful application with an organisation.
