What once felt like a deep loss has become a sacred trail—a path where I’ve come to know the Savior more personally than ever before. He’s shown me that nothing we go through is wasted. Every heartbreak, every waiting season, every tear can become a way back to Him.

“We focus so much on the problem in front of us… and not enough on the Savior who has overcome it all.” — Elder Alonso
This episode has been resting on my heart since I attended the Farmington, New Mexico Temple media day—a trip I almost didn’t take, but the Spirit whispered clearly: “Yes. Go.”
What unfolded was sacred and soul-deep. I share what I learned about covenant relationship, the beauty and meaning woven into the design of the temple, and the quiet whisper I heard in the celestial room:
“This is your home. You are Mine.”
I also reflect on something my son said while reading Lehi’s dream:
“Maybe anything can be a mist of darkness… if it blocks you from the Tree.”
Even good things can cloud our focus if they pull us away from Christ.

A while back, I was telling my husband about a heart wrenching trial my sweet friend had passed through. I started to cry thinking about the years of pain and grief she has had to carry. And the process of giving it to Christ.
My husband’s response floored me. “Honey, broken things heal. They are meant to heal. That’s why we have Jesus.” Even though I believe this phrase, The words cut me and made me think “Of course!! Nothing is meant to stay broken. That’s not the plan.” Even though healing can happen through the ultimate source of wholeness, it is a process. One that many of us are on and indifferent stages of.
Divorce, grief, betrayal trauma, abuse of any kind, and many more hurtful situations can make us feel broken. But as Aaron reminded me, broken things heal, they are meant to heal, and that’s why we have Jesus.

Brother Brad Wilcox came to chat about the FSY pamphlet, the children and Youth Program for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and allowing the Savior into our lives. Have you ever thought about the word receive?
It's an action word that implies us accepting something or to come into possession of something. When we receive revelation, we make the choice to accept and take possession of the truths we find through the spirit and claim them as our own.
Sometimes its hard to understand others and be to understood. The best way to see things with a full view of truth, is asking God to show us things "as they really are."
Praying is not a hotline where we pour out all our wishes. It is not just us communicating with Him, but communing with Him. Giving and receiving.
We dive into what forgiveness is and why its such an important process for sexual abuse. We also dive into if there are limitations to the atonement of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Sidney Simon describes, “Forgiveness is freeing up and putting to better use the energy once consumed by holding grudges, harboring resentments, and nursing unhealed wounds. It is rediscovering the strengths we always had and relocating our limitless capacity to understand and accept other people and ourselves.”
This is the podcast I initially did not want to write. Anyone who has been through sexual abuse and betrayal trauma hold their story dear, for worry someone may trivialize their experience.
But, I felt compelled by God to offer hope and maybe a little insight of how powerful the atonement of Christ can be in our healing. It is miraculous and powerful, just like the Savior who offered it.
Here is my heart, my love and my faith. I pray whoever needs this story will find it. Again, healing is attainable through Christ.
