Success #manifestingsuccess #journeytosuccess

Belief is a powerful and necessary thing, governing our societies, our day-to-day and inner lives, our thoughts, hopes, plans, and relationships. You believe that the plane will leave the runway, that working hard will lead to a promotion, that the candidate you support is the best one for the job. Some things you believe because a pattern of experience suggests you should: The sun has come up every morning so far, so why should tomorrow be any different? Eventually, our dependence on a pattern becomes a belief in its power.

Hello Everyone! This is Priya Mishra! Welcome to another episode of A Minute With Priya Here’s a Key trend that stood out when we researched virtual selling. Even if you think you are in control, companies are still struggling to understand virtual enablement.

Think about your buyers and current customers – you must understand that these have changed in the last two years than they have in the last seven years or so. Revisit your journey maps, document your challenges, identify points of friction and allocate resources appropriately, both digital and human - to stay ahead of the curve. Also, can your sales force keep up with the concept of decentralised inside sales?

Even if travel opens up, sales will be cautious and clients themselves will accept virtual working.

At the same time, if a visit is essential, then it is.

What’s the actual modality that your players can adopt going forward? Put a pragmatic roadmap that will accelerate your business to newer heights in 2021. This is Priya Mishra signing off until next time. Bye!

Hi everyone! Thank you for tuning in. There have been many inventions that have shaped the lives of humankind such as clean water, sanitation and vaccinations. Billions of people now have access to a clean water source, globally. A number of children have already been vaccinated against diseases like tetanus and whooping cough. Smallpox is gone and so has polio, almost. There are many other diseases that are in their ‘going out’ phase. People became more and more empowered with health, resources and later technology to enable them to lead their lives smoothly. As buying power increased, consumer confidence bloomed. Computers and the internet were big turnarounds. Then there was the rise of mobile commerce, smartphones, which put consumers in the driver’s seat. Shoppers are now critical influencers as they increasingly shop for things that they want from their mobiles. Consumer sizes are only growing and merchants are grappling to keep pace with a highly digitised consumer. The new consumer is now looking for engagement that goes beyond the marketing function. What should you as a brand do? How do you maintain a balance?

LISTEN – track what consumers are saying and engage with them directly

INSPIRE – develop tools that lead to consumer advocacy

TUNE-IN – co-create products with the consumers' Brands must adopt these initiatives to maintain the right balance between them and the consumers.

This is Priya Mishra, signing off until next time! Bye!

Hi everyone! Thank you for tuning in.

Today, more than before, the world around us seems to be disrupted and uncontrollably transformed. People are readily embracing the digital and accepting the biological environment for what it is. In the light of this situation, business leaders are looking for newer rules and fresher success mantras. Transitions are moving faster than industry coping mechanisms. To resolve the balance between being responsive and responsible, leaders must take lessons from India’s timeless scriptures.

Business, according to Vedic philosophy, is an integral part of society. The Chanakya Sutras and Arthashastra were written by Chanakya sometime in 300 BC and included specific guidelines for Emperor Chandragupta to run the Mauryan empire. It clearly states that responsiveness without responsibility will not do any good. Arthashastra clearly states that business leaders must reinforce responsibility and responsiveness the way it is accepted. Employees must stand first and the company should develop a flexible culture that can learn, unlearn and relearn. Ancient learnings from India can still be adopted in today’s changing times because even if the world changes, what remains unchangeable is human nature. This is Priya Mishra signing off until next time! Bye!

Did you know that in India, Hindustan Unilever’s managers are always in demand? Marketing, Advertising and Media, Product positioning, Pricing, Sales, Cost Management, and company values are some broad ingredients that come together to form the success of the company. Nine out of 10 Indian households use HUL products – they are quite affiliated to Dove, Lakme, Lifebuoy, Clinic Plus, Vim, and others, which are indeed, blindly used by consumers sometimes without even knowing that these brands belong to HUL. This is the kind of quality engagement that is expected out of brands. An important aspect of this success is HUL’s approach to advertising. It spends a whopping Rs. 3,500 crores on advertising and accounts for about 20% of the country’s ads on TV. This is because HUL believes that advertising is important and a senior person must lead the entire process right from the brief to its production. The idea stands, whether the person chooses to consult with other members or not. In the end, the advertising leader is the one single decision-maker. On that positive note, this is Priya signing off, until next time Bye!

There are no shortcuts to success. Whenever we look at a multi-million-dollar company or brand, we assume that luck had a big role to play along with ‘some’ work along the way. Many theorists allege that these successful people and businesses were in the right place at the right time. That is why everything worked out for them. And if there’s no success in your endeavor, then it’s just bad luck.

But luck, in fact, is superficial, and an excuse to not be able to perform. There is absolutely no substitute for hard work. Yes, products need to be at the right spot and at the right time. But luck will not do that work – great market research will – along with planning and implementation. The marketing department of a company actually needs to sit down, draft and think about how to position their brand and reach out to the customers.

A lot of research goes into understanding customer needs and establishing engagement. It’s quite obvious. No product enters the market with sufficient research, promotion, and strategy. It’s not luck, my friends! It's just good marketing. This is Priya signing off, until next time. Bye!

https://www.priya.sydney/

Nike’s logo is a great example of how a small job can lead to big payoffs. Carolyn Davidson was studying Graphic Design at Portland State University in 1971 when Phil Knight approached her and asked her to come up with a logo for his own range of athletic shoes. This was just a side job – he knew she needed the extra money. Carolyn charged a mere $35 dollars for 17.5 hours of work and came up with a ‘swoosh’ that represented fluidity, movement, and most importantly speed. The brand was named Nike after the Greek Goddess of Victory. Initially, Knight was unhappy. But went ahead and used the ‘swoosh’ beside the shoe. Since then, the logo has become one of the most recognized ones worldwide and the brand soared to great heights. Up until 1975, Carolyn continued to design for Nike and later, after graduating, began freelancing. While she didn’t immediately profit from the ‘swoosh’ logo, the company did throw a party in her honor later where she was also given a generous stock in the company and a diamond and gold ring with the ‘swoosh’ on it. This shows how important brand engagement and connection are and how small efforts can lead to massive gains. Thank you for tuning in. This is Priya signing off and I will be back with more!

conversationswithpriya #corporality #priyamishra #aminutewithpriya #starbucks #whynostarbucksinaustralia #australianstarbucks #australiacoffee https://www.priya.sydney/ Starbucks opened its first store in Australia in July 2000. The stint was not long after their successful expansion into China. Over-confident executives decided to draft and implement expansion plans, which soon diminished in 2008 with the closure of the majority of their stores. Starbucks’s expansion into Australia clearly wasn’t successful like their expansions to other developed countries had. Why? For one, they thought Australia was westernized enough to accept them instantly. Next was their rapid pace of expansion. So much so that by 2008, it had 90 stores across the country – but where was the popularity? Finally, Australians were already accustomed to Coffee – they were enjoying a range of choices from Greek and Italian immigrants. It was the lack of exploration, market study, and buyer persona building that led to this failure. On the other hand, they had already succeeded in China. Because their ascent into the Chinese market was meticulous and calculated. Lesson Learnt. It is extremely important to identify the preferences of your target market before you launch your product. Never put the cart before the horse! Thank you for tuning in this is Priya Signing off Until next time! Bye!

Lessons from Fogg Hi Guys! Welcome to another episode of A Minute With Priya. I am Priya Mishra, your very own marketing evangelist. Fogg was launched sometime in 2010-11 and today commands approximately 16% share of the Rs. 3500 Cr. Industry. It managed to overtake several big brands in the perfume and deo industry in India and displaced an iconic market leader.

There are several factors that drove Fogg to where it is today, and we marketers can learn a thing or two from them. Let’s recall the elements that lead Fogg to the top. First, Brand confidence. Fogg displayed tremendous confidence to displace a long-time market leader, which is also known for its branding capabilities. Second. Strategy. Pioneering deo brands in India that propagated exaggerated attraction were simply defeated by Fogg due to the strategy is applied. Fogg could have easily adopted the same marketing strategy to attract consumers. But it chose to go beyond the ordinary and changed the narrative altogether. Instead of talking about attraction, it adopted functionality and changed the consumers’ viewpoint about deodorants in general. It portrayed that other market leaders actually had more gas in their product than fragrance. Finally came promotion.

They promoted their brand vigorously to even surpass the market leader’s claims. Although the market leader was frequent in its advertising, it was not vigorous because the company assumed that people already preferred it. Fogg took this opportunity to build their brand in the meantime with high decibel advertising across all media. Their ads were extremely creative, to the point, and the company also established a strong distribution network.

Sheer ambition at work - don't you think? With more to come, this is Priya Signing off! Bye!

Hi Guys! Welcome to another episode of A Minute With Priya. I am Priya Mishra, your very own marketing evangelist. Today, I am going to tell you about 3 marketing mistakes that can kill your brand. Avoid these pitfalls made by most businesses and stop wasting your money on illogical investments.

Number ONE - Don’t jump straight into tactics – Most business owners only have a broad idea about what they need to bring a brand into the market and begin jumping into social media tactics, optimisation and the works. The reality is, they are not ready to market their brand yet because they don’t have a brand strategy and marketing strategy.

Number TWO - Don’t create irrelevant content - There is plenty of content in the world – in fact, there’s too much. We don’t need more content. But what we do need is better, relevant content. Therefore, you must think about the audience before you prepare one.

Number THREE - Undefined positioning – To connect with your audience, today, you have to actually mean something. You have to give them a reason to believe that they need your product. Don’t just go up to the marketplace and offer something that is already there. Use strategy, psychology and creative thinking to enhance your brand’s presence. Everyone makes mistakes in the beginning and a lot of these have cost money, time and effort.

Leverage the above tips to grow your own business.

With more to come, this is Priya Signing off! Bye!

Hi Guys! Welcome to another episode of A Minute With Priya. I am Priya Mishra, your very own marketing evangelist. Today, I’m going to go back several years to an ancient Epic called the Mahabharata, which propounds practical knowledge, applicable even in today’s modern world. Here are at least FOUR management lessons you can learn: Lesson 1: Leadership is not just about power – but the ability to empower others. In the entire epic, Lord Krishna was a leader, who guided, supported, and motivated the Pandavas, helping them develop all the skills required to fight a war. Thus, a leader organizes, strategizes, and manages people efficiently. Lesson 2: Strategy is all about utilizing the right tool at the right time. The strategy doesn’t just consist of people, material, system, and process. It is about invoking these at the right time and using them in the right way. Lord Krishna brought sons Abhimanyu and Ghatothgach at the right moment in the army to deliver distress to their enemy. Lesson 3: A good mentor is worth an entire army. Instead of choosing an entire army without an efficient leader, choose a mentor that will guide you through all problems. When Arjun chose Lord Krishna by his side instead of the Lord’s massive army, the Pandavas' win was fortified. Because all they wanted was a good leader, mentor, and a master strategist by their side. Lesson 4: Neglect No one. Even stepbrothers Nakul and Sahadev had their small roles to play in the great war. They healed all the soldiers on their side and helped them bounce back into the fight thus sustaining the army. The brothers were never ignored and consistently recognized for their efforts. It also means that leaders have to give all their departments equal importance because each of them has a role to play in the growth and progress of the organization. There are always great things to learn from our pasts. I hope you find your learning too.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of ‘A minute with Priya’. This is Priya Mishra, your very own marketing evangelist.  The end of 2020 pushed CEOs and CMOs into a mass reflection process. Leaders spent a lot of time mulling over the negatives and creating very long-term goals.  But not all reflections are productive.  To produce a tangible movement of your business in 2021 ask these questions:  What is your biggest challenge right now? Begin looking at enterprise challenges in layers.  Are we in a recovery reaction mode? As a leader, you must pause and reflect on your strategies before taking the next steps.  What is your immediately fixable agenda? Tackle that one resolvable layer for the moment.  Conflict in business is not unusual. It is how the business leader handles it that makes all the difference.  This is Priya signing off - until next time - See ya!

Hello, and welcome to another episode of ‘A minute with Priya’. This is Priya Mishra, your very own marketing evangelist.  Today I am going to talk to you about market expansion strategies.  In a growing market, you have partnership opportunities and broadcasting opportunities.  When it comes to broadcast, you must think about the channels that you wish to make yourself known and how you can cover these. You must also remember that due to the virtual nature of communication, you can actually reimagine reaching out to the market, in a way that you have never done before. Market leaders must think about broadcasting and channel distribution with a totally different mindset.   As far as partnerships are concerned, you must plan and then build your collaboration. Companies vying to survive are thinking about partnerships, which is actually a conventional thinking methodology. Trends indicate that market growth is currently experiencing an upward tempest and it is best that you make sure not to miss out on a single opportunity.  This is Priya signing off - until next time - See ya!

Hi! I’m Priya Mishra. Welcome to another episode of ‘A Minute with Priya’. Today, I am going to talk to you about THE BIG BANG IDEA. As a business leader, you are always innovating and reinventing your brand to expand into newer horizons. You are constantly looking for fresh ideas - but you need more than just finding an idea that makes a lot of money. Entrepreneurs have to tap into their motivating power for lasting success. The ideas that you conceive must be influential enough to make a major economic impact. But the challenge, of course, is identifying that business idea in the first place. So, then how do you identify world-changing business ideas? First, look within your own community. Issues concerning your local community and record your personal observations. Get out into the community to obtain insights. Second, explore personal experiences and challenges in your own life. Draw an inference and set out to solve them yourself. Don’t wait for someone else to resolve your problems for you. Third, try getting other people involved with an idea - it’s not just about a product. It could be changing the way day-to-day life is approached or altering a mental outlook. Fourth, indulge in philanthropic work and become a true force for good. Thereafter, map it to a business idea. Fifth is the best advice I can give you. If you want a world-changing business idea go wash the dishes or better still take a shower. Remember? The story of the ancient Greek Scholar Archimedes who stepped into the bath and had his EUREKA moment? This is Priya Signing off now, until next time. BYE!

We are back with another episode of ONE MINUTE WITH PRIYA. I’m Priya Mishra. I’m here to talk to you about some key sales and marketing predictions for 2021. Here's what happened and its impact on the way we do sales and marketing this year.  The B2B landscape has changed – forever. The idea of digital transformation is fast-forwarded. It means most B2B companies can now work online to promote and sell their products. In fact, companies that were stuck on physical selling events were forced to fully digitally transform themselves. CMOs will be accountable for revenue generation. Lead generation mapped with your business creates prospective customers. Traditionally, this could never be tied to revenue. So evolved the role of the CMO. Revenue marketers are now driven by the CMO’s decisions. It is not just about leads anymore. It is about bringing in customers and measuring revenue impact.  Magical AI will create an employment shift. Humans will have more impactful jobs. Most people think that AI will cause the displacement of jobs. On the contrary, it will make way for better abilities and better jobs.  With the advent of new technology, we can actually catch the voice of the customer and create a new source of truth. We may not want to relive 2020 but we can hope for a brighter 2021. I believe that massive disruption brings massive opportunities.  This is Priya, your very own marketing evangelist, signing off. See you soon.

Have you ever thought about whether you are driving your business at all?  Are you simply surviving, or maybe just observing? If you are a survivor then you are on a defensive mode. You are still hanging on to dear life as things around you are overwhelming. Your go-to-market strategy also seems stagnant.  If you are a spectator, then you are not responding to the situation, you are only reacting. Whenever you find an opportunity, you are using it to make some careful, small moves. But then again, these moves are not well-planned.  Here’s a tip. The best way to prepare for 2021 is to be a market leader or a driver.
