If we aren't "competing well" like St. Paul all throughout our Christian life, can we really be sure that everything will work out in the end? How is the Lord challenging us to do more, so that we may finish well?

Advent is a season of waiting, but after a long time of waiting, we can feel discouraged or even fall into despair. What does the Lord have to tell us when we can't wait any longer?
Don't settle far being simply an "OK" Christian. We all desire greatness and Jesus calls us to it. Choose greatness and follow Him, an let go of whatever stands in the way of following Him.
"It's your Church, Lord. I'm going to bed." Do we have faith that the Lord will bring forth good works and fruit? Does our faith inform the works we do for the Church?
The ministry of the Church is not ours to own. It is God's work, the work of the Church.
"It is not good for man to be alone." God knows that we are not meant for isolation. He has created us for each other. He has created us for communion.
God has loved us enough to send angels to guard us and guide us to Him. Do we cooperate with them?
Divide and conquer. One of the greatest strategies of the enemy against us. How do we fall into this trap? And how do we work against it?
"To do what is right and just pleases God more than sacrifice," because true sacrifice to God should lead us to do what is right and just.
Sometimes we misunderstand what it means to be humble, what it means to be a saint. What does Christ demand when he demands humility? How does a saint really act in the face of injustice?
"You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe -- and shudder." (James 2:19) What separates the believer from the demon? What is real faith supposed to look like?
Have we closed our ears to the word of God? Have we been struck mute in our spreading of the Gospel? Jesus offers us the remedy: "Ephphatha...be opened."
Are you just going through the motions? Do you know why you stay Catholic? Do you know the reason why you do what you do?
"Do you also want to leave?" In dark times, such as these, this question sits on the hearts of many in the Church. Where are we to turn for the answer? "To whom shall we go?"
This is a homily given about the recent scandals in Washington and Pennsylvania. I encourage you not just to listen to this and do nothing, but to act in the ways that our Holy Father, Bishop Fabre, myself, and others have called us to. In the words of Fr. Mike Schmitz: "Do not leave the Church, LEAD the Church."
Happy Feast Day! And the question today is: what's so special about Mary? What does she have to do with the ark of the covenant?
The mess is back! This time, it comes in our prayer life. Zechariah teaches us about trusting in God's Providence.
Life can be messy. But there's good news; God is not afriad of our mess.
