of God's eternal plan—that through Jesus, outsiders are brought near as full heirs and equal members of God’s family. Rather than viewing his imprisonment as a failure, Paul shows us why the gospel is worth enduring hardship for, challenging us to consider what we are willing to sacrifice so others can know Christ.
) [14:03]John 21: The Second Fishing Trip and Restoration [22:50]Audio recording from the St Albans Baptist Church Christchurch service
Christian. We are designed to experience spiritual growth, accountability, and regular community together, not in isolation [27:16].Expect His Presence: God desires to dwell among us in increasing power and grace [30:51]. Reflecting on historic moves of God like the 1906 Azusa Street Revival, we are reminded of the global impact that happens when a humble church seeks a genuine outpouring of the Holy Spirit [31:39].The Challenge: Let’s be a people who passionately pursue God’s presence, making space for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in our homes, our church, and our community [37:21].
What is the biggest threat to your spiritual fire? It isn't doubt or persecution—it's amnesia [01:04]. When we forget what God has rescued us from, our passion fades and church can feel mechanical [02:24].In this message, we dive into Ephesians 2 to see how Jesus radically redrew the boundary lines of faith. Before Christ, we were completely alienated and without hope [10:02]. But through His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus didn't just mend our vertical relationship with God—He destroyed the hostile, horizontal dividing walls that separate us from one another to create one new humanity [14:35], [17:16].Because we share the same Holy Spirit, our unity isn't something we have to manufacture; it is a reality we are called to live out [19:40]. Living in disunity or harboring bitterness is like a spiritual autoimmune disease where the body attacks itself [21:52].Listen in as we challenge ourselves to take the cross seriously by prioritizing authentic, loving community and letting the Holy Spirit make our biblical unity a tangible reality.
? In this message, we peel back the layers on the Bible to explore how we got our modern translations, how we can faithfully interpret what scripture is saying to us today, and—most importantly—the practical tools we can use to study it well. Whether you're a lifelong believer or just starting to open the pages, this message will equip you to approach God's Word with fresh confidence and clarity.

Thriving is a great word to describe the kind of life God wants us to live. The sense of thriving comes as we live with others in mind. Serving and witnessing to them about Jesus love. We can all grow in doing this as a lifestyle.
The church is the Hope of the World.... but its success rests on its leaders. Richard Starling is retiring. He has spent the best years of his life reaching out to his community with the Love of God in Jesus. Lets celebrate Richard, and learn more about leadership for our own race we are running.
Our recent addition of two new Elders gives us a great opportunity to examine the role and requirements of Eldership. Senior leadership is demanding, and yet one of the great blessings for the Church and individual. The Apostle Paul holds it up as a very worthwhile goal.
God loves his Church, yet within church life people get offended. Every time that happens we are faced with a choice. Will we become bitter or will we forgive? They are two completely different paths....heading in different directions. Which will you choose when it happens next?
We are created to be a people who don’t give up, who overcome. Jesus gives hope love and faith to all in his Kingdom. You will be encouraged by Peters story.
God wants to use all of us to see people come to faith. It's possible, it's doable, it's an adventure. It's outside our comfort zone...yet possible. Some people are especially gifted. The two referendum questions at this year's election will have HUGE impact upon NZ society were they to pass. They are 'hot potato' issues that we need to think about as we all will be voting if we are over 18 yrs of age! What does God say about recreational drug use?
Many people from other faiths face significant backlash for converting to Jesus. As the title suggests there is a way individuals can stay connected with family and culture yet follow Jesus.
Imagine if, without even thinking about it, you just naturally turned everything in your life into an opportunity to worship God...

Yes we live normal lives. Not everything goes as we hope. Sometimes there is trouble. Christianity can sometimes be pitched that everything should always go perfectly. That's called triumphalism. Instead we know what walking through the valley of the shadow of death feels like, as well as what it's like to be anointed with oil and have our cup run over, and play in green pastures.
God is good at tearing down walls between people. Jesus tore down the biggest one possible. No race is more special than another. Sometimes people say unkind things about others. God calls it sin. There is a better road.
As a Christian the image I should see when I look in the mirror is SAVED. So many Christians are still trying to earn our status with God rather than living from that place.

Covid19 has taken many out of our routines, and some out of our regular work or careers. People often assess themselves by what we do yet God doesn't use that grid. He calls us Sons or Daughters, adopted, loved, favoured. As we look at going back to level 3 then 2 then 1, will we use God's grid or the old one, to tell us who we are?
Are we positioning ourselves in the right camp for achieving our best future post lock down? God’s purposes and promises for us aren’t limited because of Covid-19 circumstances.
We can think that the world is falling apart, trouble every where. However there has always been trouble and always will be. It’s a journey for all of us but God desires to show us how to live above anxiety and fear. His advice is count it all joy!
To a Jewish person, for a man to claim to be God...a God whose name alone was so sacred they couldn't even say it...was so beyond belief, it would have been akin to someone being a lunatic. Yet they turned to follow him after his death in such numbers that something must have convinced them beyond any doubt. RESURRECTION.
We live in a strange season when fear lurks around us daily. Overseas particularly, people are dying, and close at hand we stand 2 meters apart at the supermarket. Does is really matter what we say? Do my words really come from what is in my heart and out of what I believe?? 'For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.' the Word says. What were the first things God said to Adam and Eve? He declared and he blessed, I'm thinking we should follow His lead.
Nehemiah reveals a biblical truth. The joy of the Lord is our strength or said another way, our strength comes from our Joy in God. But how do we develop it and grow its capacity, and how can a God focussed, enthusiasm and optimism for life help us to live well and fulfill God's plans?
Joshua taking the people into the 'Promised Land' represents aspects of God taking each of us into our own personal 'promised land'. However in the promised land are giants! So many Christians live 'sub par' today..... not fully inheriting their promises from God due to giants in and around their lives. Too many of us have forgotten that we have to 'fight' for every new promise God has for us.

Jesus was loved and accepted by people who were quite worldly (sinners), but he was loathed and rejected by the religious! Often today people in the church have it the other way around.... we're comfortable and accepting of the religious, those who appear to have it together, but don't have time or interest or compassion for those who are messy and (perhaps) sinful. How can we become more like Jesus?
This one powerful word sums up the New Testament era but how do we get it working and increasing in our lives.
People often perceive God to be angry and quick to punish us. Nothing could be further from the truth. Come and hear how obsessive about you and me, he really is. Don't confuse the work of the devil, and the selfishness and greed of people that causes so much harm in this world with the activity of God. He is magnificent.
Is heaven vaguely like earth....where earth is the substance and heaven the copy....or is it the other way around? Could it be that the best locations on earth are only shadowy copies of what heaven will be?

July 15: John Alpe Who do you think you are? Part 2 of 9: I am a saint Gods new default setting for us!
