If you experience the same challenges, and find traumatic events continue to control you + your emotional state, this episode will bring you much clarity!

Inspired by the athletes of the 2024 Paris Olympics, and one who truly inspired me in the realm of mental health recovery, Noah Lyles, I share the golden lessons learned over my month break from the podcast, and what all these athletes have in common that contribute to their greatness. It has been scientifically proven that trauma can neurologically alter the brain, which keeps one in a constant state of hypervigilance or "fight or flight", and also may block the brain's ability to form new memories, which triggers vivid memories of the trauma they experienced.

In this episode, I share 4 powerful ways to reprogram your subconscious and conscious mind to recover and heal from past trauma, and instill a deeper knowing within you that your past does not define you, you do!

Are you easily picking up on other people’s energy, almost porous? Do you you find it challenging to be around certain people or places, and want to know how to protect and love yourself while in those spaces?

I felt compelled to release this talk from my Insight Timer live as so many of us highly sensitives + empaths struggle with setting and maintaining healthy boundaries in our lives. Especially around this time of year, when family dynamics + people in our aura can be very triggering.

This episode (Part 2 of a 2 part series) will help you return home 🤍 to yourself and help you feel more safe and connected to be yourself. To speak up when someone is not respecting your boundaries, and how to show up for yourself when others are constantly demanding your time + energy.

In this solo series, I will discuss how to:

  1. Believe you have ownership of your own experience.
  2. Develop a strong sense of self.
  3. Decide what type of energy you will bring into the room, event, situation you’re going into.
  4. Set an energetic boundary around yourself.
  5. Be aware of what your body physically feels like in the moment + your nervous system response.
  6. Decide what you will/will not tolerate with a "tolerance tally".
  7. Practice this. Affirm to others what you are needing in this moment, and what you will no longer tolerate in your life.

Part 2 also dives even deeper with 12 distinct types of boundaries + how to build resilience in relationships and your life by setting an intention to start with choosing just ONE of these today!

The collective chaos feels like a lot, especially for empaths and highly sensitives souls who carry so much.

The collective chaos becomes collective trauma if you're not protective of your energy and where you place your attention. I've personally been feeling this, and wanted to continue the conversation from Ep. 125: We Are All Exhausted Right Now + How to Recover from Burnout (for Empaths) with what helps me RISE ABOVE the chaos.

In this episode, I share the current energy forecast in Leo season, and how to harness the powerful energy of the LEADER (and Lion!) of the Zodiac.

I also share how prayer, the Pivot Year book, and channeling divine messages from the Ancient Stones oracle can be such comfort to reprogram your reality + subconscious mind.

The collective energy in the cosmos right now is INTENSE, and empaths and highly sensitives especially feel this.

I wasn't physically able to record last week + release an episode because of this, and dedicated this episode to sharing my experience giving light and reality to our collective exhaustion, and how to recover with compassion, grace, and mad LOVE for yourself.

Burnout is a buzzy word, but really for those who have experienced trauma, especially medical and health trauma, feeling the same symptoms again and again can be an emotionally taxing experience.

How do you hold this, with everything else spinning out of control (or appearing to be?) in our world?

In this episode, I share 6 tips on how to move these moments and recover from exhaustion and cyclical burnout to BREAK THROUGH!

If this episode spoke to you in any way, would love to hear from you! Send me an email to my pod inbox below in the show notes, or DM me on Instagram @mozen_wellness.

Are you hard on yourself? The harsh inner critic is very common for women caregivers, especially empaths and highly sensitives in the spiritual and recovery communities. What started as resonance in response to a post on Instagram has led to a beautiful connection + kindred spirit with my guest in this episode, Kelly Greene.

She came into my life at a time when I lost faith in the spiritual community, and entrusting so many healers and spaces that simply didn't have the trauma informed approach or empathy to hold all that I was carrying.

Kelly speaks to her path to her work with Prana Reiki after her divorce + loss of her brother to cancer in 2012 to a dream that guided her to a deep love of Reiki healing for recovery.

In our conversation, we touch on how to heal and integrate in layers, allowing for ample rest and space to process your emotions without getting stuck into states of depression or stagnation.

Kelly speaks to the suffering of society's obsession with highs and lows, and how the messy middle is truly a place to become your own healer, and learn how to cultivate wild self compassion and humanity through healing.

Make sure you stay tuned through this 2-part series where Kelly invites us to join her in a distance Reiki session to experience her magic LIVE!

While feelings can be fleeting, the resonance remains and lives inside our bodies, our hearts, and our minds. Trauma is the body’s response to a lived experience that was not processed, causing emotional distress + living inside your own mind!

In this episode, I speak to how to let go and live and find emotional freedom through 6 tangible tips that integrate Yogic wisdom based on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.

When you can't get outside of your mind, attuning to your body's innate wisdom is central to trauma recovery.

The reason many diseases, illnesses and problems are "rebuilt" into your physical structure is related to mental thought patterns.

Thoughts of jealousy, fear, worry and anxiety tear down and destroy your nerves, glands and your bodies ability to rebuild itself with perfect harmony with Nature.

My inspiration for you in this episode is to reprogram the emotional patterns + subconscious reality from running the show!

It's time to let that old story go. If this episode touched you, please rate with a 5 star review + share with someone who needs this message.

Being human can be challenging, especially in light of the global shift over the last 4 years. How can we embrace these changes with grace, and not pressure ourselves to live up to cultural standards that are honestly, unattainable and rooted in the presumption that you, as you are, is "not enough"?

In this episode, my guest, JodiGolda Komitor, unravels the gold laced within what it means to be HUMAN and how to embrace your messy ways as much as you do your Instagram-worthy side?As a visionary herself, and pioneer of the Kids Yoga Movement, with over 25 years of entrepreneurial and small business experience, it was an honor to host JodiGolda on the podcast and learn from a true leader that embodies leadership with authenticity, truth, and freedom to be one's self unapologetically.

I first found JodiGolda by listening to her episode on the Healing Her podcast about this concept of the "inner winter" and how she moved through this following the sale of her business after abundant success with the Kids Yoga Movement.

Despite what the world sees as success, she stepped away into the spirit of what she calls a "somatic unpacking", developing a relationship with the part that is outside of you, this conversation with your harsh inner critic.

Once again, she is in a stage of following her inner calling by leaving everything that she knew here in the States to explore life in Portugal as a digital nomad, and what this new season is unearthing within her, gathering the gold in both the highs and lows of life!Connect with JodiGolda:

If you’re struggling, or want to know how to support someone and be an ally for mental health 🫶 this message and episode is for you! 💕💕

In this last of a special series to honor Mental Health Awareness month, I share both a somatic + spiritual approach to trauma recovery and suicide prevention.

As something I've been a devout advocate for many years in my trauma informed practice, is knowing how to support someone (and yourself) to avoid isolation + feeling like a "lone wolf" in your struggles to survive, be seen, and fully understood in your asking for help.

To truly feel SAFE when seeking support is challenging in a world that doesn't quite offer the tools and resources for people struggling inside.
I speak to concepts like common humanity, compassion, and honoring those who we have lost in their legacy to be a light for others in their own darkness. I also pay respects to the life and legacy of Grayson Murray of the PGA tour, who we lost to this struggle.

In his beautiful words,"When you're tired of fighting, let someone fight for you." @graysonmurray **We continue to fight for you, Grayson and all who struggle. This is for YOU.

In continuation of honoring this month's series for Mental Health Awareness Month, this epsiode unlocks another aspect of our own internal struggle with all or nothing thinking and how this plays a role in triggering trauma or emotional disregulation.

I touch on the Tantric framework of polarity + bring to light the the Cosmic Couple, Shiva and Shakti, that exist in all of creation, and within ourselves!

What happens when you lean too heavily into masculine construct of Shiva, or the feminine in Shakti, and say with conviction THIS IS THE WAY (or the only way) is to lose touch with half of its entire existence! If you're already lost, I clarify all this in the episode! The secret to healing + elevating your consciousness exists in knowing, honoring, and LIVING in both realities, and learning how to "live in the grey".

The Principle of Polarity states that all manifested things have ‘two sides’; ‘two aspects’; ‘two poles; and, ‘everything has its opposite’ with manifold degrees between the two extremes.” – The Kybalion, a text of hermetic wisdom

If you’ve ever been gaslit, or have dealt with this challenging dynamic in your life, this episode is your elixir to a deeply intimate and enlightening conversation on what gaslighting looks like, and how to take your POWER back!

To me gaslighting at its core is a denial of your lived experience, and NO one has a right to have that say over YOU.

With May being mental health awareness month, I felt very passionate to bring this topic to light 💡 as suppression of our lived experience is the source of physical somatic symptoms + many chronic conditions when left unhealed.

Our bodies remember what our brains want to forget.

I also share some exciting news on my brand new ALIVE merch 🌈💕🫶 available through the end of the month of May!

I'M BACK!!! Just in time for the divine month of May, a window in time that celebrates Mental Health Awareness month, Jewish Heritage Month, and my birthday on May 12th!

Each episode this month will feature the real lived experience of what it feels like to be ALIVE and recover and heal from past trauma, along with my personal wisdom to help you navigate this season of healing fully embodied!

Overthinking is one of these common lived experiences, especially in the psyche of one who has experienced any level of trauma, which we all have been feeling deeply more so in the past 4 years.

In this episode, I will cover:

*1. What causes the overthinking mind, and how it shows up subconsciously without you even realizing what's happening!

  1. How the connection to past trauma heightens this experience, and why it's actually here to HELP you release this from your physical body.

  2. Where you can get started to break the cycle of this conditioning in a trauma informed and somatic approach.

"*Overthinking shows up as this quiet voice that never stops anyone but YOU."
- Jessica Silverman, @mozen_wellness

Are you the woman that is expected to hold it together, where all of your energy is consumed in the everyday? The type of woman who has wild dreams, but your obligations are overpowering, and those beautiful dreams stay on the backburner of your heart's greatest longings? If so, this episode is for you! In one of my MOST cherished conversations on the podcast, New York Times bestselling author Lauren Grodstein joins me for an intimate and heartwarming discussion about living as a woman in what is still a Virginia Woolf world, indoctrinated as "women of labor" and the demands of life as the oldest daughter of her family.

In this conversation, we also speak to how womanhood poses challenges as a Jewish woman specifically, in light of the tragic events on and following October 7th, and how her latest book release We Must Not Think of Ourselves was unintentionally a timely message sharing the stories of the Warsaw Ghetto in 1940 and keeping their stories alive.

We are once again living in a time when no choice feels like a good choice, but Lauren does an impressive job depicting this in her novel, and in real life on this podcast.

She truly has a way with words that awakens your senses to truly see + feel as if you are there, and encompassing all emotions.

Be sure to stay tuned till the end, where she graciously also shares with us secrets of the publishing process and how to make writing your book easier - bye bye Writer's Block, hello Paris?About Lauren:

Lauren Grodstein is the author of five novels, including the Read with Jenna selection and national bestseller We Must Not Think of Ourselves, New York Times bestseller A Friend of the Family and the Washington Post Book of the Year The Explanation for Everything.

Lauren’s work has been translated into French, Turkish, German, Hebrew, and other languages, and her essays and reviews have been widely published. She teaches in the MFA Program at Rutgers University-Camden and lives in New Jersey with her husband and children.

This is such a good episode and divine reminder from March 2023, I wanted to bring it back. The message is still potent.
____________________________________

For centuries, women and the feminine embodiment have been silenced, and our voices not heard. Society runs on masculine energy, seeking logic and what can be seen as the only proof of existence. But in the Cosmos and conscious reality, both masculine + feminine energies exist. So why the weight only on the masculine as the golden rule?

In this excerpt from a live talk I hosted on the Insight Timer app, I discuss why WOMEN SHOULD SPEAK UP NOW, and how silencing the feminine embodiment causes trauma within one's physical body if not expressed.

Many chronic conditions for sensitive souls, and women especially, are a result of underutilizing the throat chakra, and her voice to express her needs, wants, desires, and emotions throughout life. Even as a child, we may have been taught to be "seen and not heard", and as a result found other ways to cope that stuff our needs away, thinking "I am not worthy of _____".

In this episode, you will learn 4 ways of healing the feminine wound of being silenced from a trauma informed perspective to heal the inner child + ancestral trauma wounds.

Stay tuned at the end for a special LIVE premiere of my meditation, "This Belongs", where you get a chance to practice the first steps to healing with me through radical acceptance + compassion therapy.

Trusting your inner knowing can be challenging, especially in the world we live in with overwhelming information at your fingertips that conflicts and fuels this self doubt within to TRUST WHAT YOU KNOW!

This inner knowing is activated by opening your Crown chakra, and development of your 4 Clair's which we speak about in this episode.

As she says so beautifully, "expectation kills connection", so relax + listen to this conversation with an open mind that whatever is meant to be revealed will come through for you. Follow the breadcrumb trail, and allow listening to this episode to be your first step to "dabbling in the divine!"

About Destiny:

Destiny Hwang is a healer and intuitive. While she is trained in both the Usui and Karuna Reiki lineages and incorporates Reiki into her healing work, her healing sessions mostly consist of Shamanic techniques and energy techniques that she’s created or learned from her guides. Her focus is always on healing all parts of the person, not just the physical body, but rather the emotional body, the spiritual body and the pain body. Destiny’s goal is to help remind her clients how to connect to their own inner knowing and trust it. She often includes inner child work as well as shadow work and intuitive development. Her BIG reason for being here is helping others learn to connect with their own intuition and spirit guides. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Southern California. When she’s not doing her spiritual work, she enjoys yoga, painting, hiking, and gardening.

Your inner child longs to come alive in your creative spirit. Yet we live in a world that overemphasizes the power of form and technique over living in the play, or creating just for the sake of the person you become along the way.

In this episode, Sheryl Benjy shares how her art is more than just the tangible piece she creates, but more of a moving meditation and a process that invites play through creativity and emoting the experience.

In the emoting, Sheryl helps people heal through trauma and challenging life experiences in both the creative process + by immersing in the piece as a divine reminder that the spirit always remains.

I personally connected with Sheryl through a painting of one of the hostages following the events on October 7th and was so deeply moved by how she uses her art to express what cannot be put into words, and evokes this same feeling in both the families of the victims and the entire community at large who feels so helpless in such a tragic time.

She also speaks so beautifully to the dynamic of being both Iranian and Jewish, and how this interplay of ancestral experiences continues to influence her artistry in a way that moves others to become more resilient and feel peace amidst the chaos.

This is my art, thank you for supporting by being a listener. 🩷 If this podcast has helped you in any way, please leave a 5 star review here so more can find this show.

The Radiance Sutras is a beautiful book that is a tantra, or manual of practices, that is a conversation between lovers, Shiva and Shakti.

Within you is both Shiva, the Divine Masculine and Shakti, the Divine Feminine.

This episode honors that in this essay entitled, "Love is a Practice" which I see as an embodiment of self love and cultivating compassionate conversations with yourself so you know what it is to LOVE another.

As it says in this passage,

" Love is a particular practice of yoga – complex, demanding, and exhausting. It can also be the most meaningful and rewarding practice in the world. When we give our total attention to someone, a special quality of spaciousness and tranquility can emerge."

In this episode, you will learn how to practice LOVE as a form of yoga to honor the Shiva and Shakti within you.

Let's continue the conversation on Instagram or Facebook, wherever you fancy!

If you are craving more connection to your inner guides + having more compassionate conversations to silence your inner mean girl, it's still not too late to join the Live Vibrant Sisterhood!

Have you been experiencing unusual symptoms that Western medicine has been unable to help you with? I know this feeling wholeheartedly, as I've been sharing my experiences in decoding this mystery throughout the podcast since my initial episode back in August 2022.

So many conditions are undiagnosed in Western medicine, often being put into a label called "autoimmune conditions", or "chronic illness" - but is this truly chronic, or are there stones left unturned that can help you heal in a more natural and holistic way of living?

These are some of the secrets uncovered on this episode with one of the founders of the FIG (Food is Good) app, Andrew Hollar.

I have no idea how I was guided to this app, but it was Divine intervention as I truly do believe having this powerful resource at my fingertips has helped me cut through the noise online about what foods can help heal versus trigger the symptoms I was experiencing.

If medicine is prescribed that is taken through the mouth, why isn't the Food you eat also considered as medicine?

This episode will reveal all, including how to heal the "invisible illness" through any dietary restrictions you have without feeling restricted by a list of 5-10 foods! From a Vegan or Pescatarian diet, to Gluten, Soy, and Dairy free needs, to the Low Histamine diet (which inspired Andrew's journey and my own), the FIG app will help you release the food anxiety, and learn how feel the FIG (food is good) again!

About Andrew:

Andrew Hollar is the co-founder of Fig, an app that helps people with dietary restrictions find food they can eat. Andrew started Fig after discovering that a modified diet was the answer to years of mysterious health issues in his own life. He and the Fig team are committed to helping everyone feel their best through food.

Do you feel safe to express yourself within your physical body? In today's episode, I had the divine pleasure to speak with Jamie Gavagan about her five- year journey of healing chronic pain to ways of expressing herself as she never could.

We speak about the grief and rage that is felt when you can no longer do what you easily could before the condition, and how chronic pain can feel as if it's controlling your life.

Jamie shares with us how she was able to shift out of this frustration through her practice to a mindset of "I can move freely while being in pain" to overcome the fears of hurting yourself in movement.

In this episode, Jamie uncovers five key tips to become the healer you seek, including how to empower your own inner trust, and way of knowing yourself (and your body) to living free of the labels of chronic pain + conditions.

I am honored to have Jamie as a teacher in the upcoming round of the Live Vibrant Sisterhood to bring her expertise on self healing practices to teach us a session on Radiant Self Compassion, taking us through a breathwork session, meditation, and journaling practice. There's not always a reason for what you go through, but everything you go through makes you who you are, it's all how you respond to life. These are the beautiful and profound words of Karen Conner, my dear friend, and guest in this episode.

In this deeply intimate conversation, Karen shares her journey through healing trauma and her autoimmune condition, known as POTS syndrome. She is a sensitive soul healing and coming back to who she knows she is BORN to be, gifted with the voice of an angel and the power to create music that pierces your Soul to evoke EVERY emotion within you.

A grand part of her message is healing through feeling, and how not processing your emotions, rooted in past trauma, eventually can lead to illness, pain, and suffering from the suppression of what is meant to move through you to be released!

She does this through her music to help us feel less alone, and process and flow through emotions with ease, grace, and a compassionate heart.

I am blessed to have her join us as a guest teacher in my upcoming round of the Live Vibrant Sisterhood to teach lyrical therapy, even if you're not a talented musician like her!Click here to see if this speaks to you.

I certainly am not a musical genius, but believe we can channel the energy of the frequency of sound healing to feel the same benefits as the creator themselves.

Stay tuned through the entire episode for a sneak preview of her first original song debut, Pieces That Make Me which will speak to everything this episode speaks to, and Karen's healing prowess!

Karen has also shared a special offer for you as a listener to join her WAITLIST for free "Pieces That Make Me" Song Lyric Self-Reflection Prompts to take this song to the next level in your own healing journey. Click here to join!

Triggers can feel emotionally overwhelming, especially when you're a highly sensitive person (HSP). In this beautiful conversation, I had the honor to have Alissa Boyer back on the podcast to share more of what it means to live life as an HSP (highly sensitive person), and how to know if you're even sensitive yourself?

I didn't know this until I watched the documentary with Alanis Morissette called "Sensitive: The Untold Story", but I knew my whole life that I felt deeply, I loved hard, and I was overwhelmed with a floodgate of emotions I often didn't know how to process, let alone know how to help myself self-regulate.

In this episode Alissa shares how her journey has shifted since Ep. 74 - Stop Apologizing for Your Sensitivity + Start Harnessing Your HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) and answers these powerful questions:

1. What does it mean to be highly sensitive?
2. What are some common experiences of being highly sensitive?
3. Why doesn't the world embrace HSPs for their gifts?
4. What tools help you self-regulate to RISE above the stories?

I’m super excited to have Alissa join us as a teacher and member of the upcoming round of my Live Vibrant Sisterhood sharing one of her favorite modalities for self regulation, EFT for Empaths! Does your "inner mean girl" creep in when you even think about slowing down? This has been the spirit of my life for SO many years, and it's often right after the New Year that I start to feel the PRESSURE TO SHOW UP, when all I want to do is ease back in after the holidays.

I'm questioning the status quo in this solo episode, inviting in the energy of starting slow + somatically in 2024 where you FEEL into your feminine flow, instead of letting the New Years Intention Setting + wellness buzz make you feel FOMO.

Since I am celebrating 20 years since my spiritual path began in a Yoga for Stress class (shoutout to Yoga Jane!) back in 2004, I tie in Patanjali's 8 Limbs of Yoga as a model for how to do this from a state of doing-ness to a state of being-ness in 6 SIMPLE STEPS.

I'm also SUPER STOKED that I am reviving my Live Vibrant Sisterhood again this February after a wild 2023 of challenges with my chronic conditions, and give you a sneak peek in this episode as to how you can practice Patanjali's 8 limbs of Yoga in just 5 mins a day. Let it be easy, as Suzie Moore says!

If you're seeking more connection this year, you can also practice LIVE with us in the Sisterhood , because I don't know about you, but I'm craving much more connection this year. Flying solo can be oh so lonely, and incredibly draining!

Seeking Sisterhood? Peek here at the pre-sale (33% off) which ends Tuesday, January 16th!

Have you always been spiritually curious, or seeking deeper connection with the Divine? In this episode, I had the devout honor to interview one of the most spiritually influential people on the planet, the goddess + creator of Moonology, Yasmin Boland.

Yasmin shares with us how she fell into the Moon's secrets from a career as a former journalist. She started off with writing alternative stories in her column, and followed the breadcrumbs that trickled through to her from various sources, almost as though they were seeking her out.

In Yasmin's words, "the goddess came and found me", and speaks to the Dark Moon Cycle we have been in for about 5,000 years, which explains the collective chaos that is leading more and more souls to awaken and seek the secrets of Astrology and Moonology, which is a beautiful immersion of both art + science.

Yasmin also shares with us how you can thrive as an astrologer + creative for a living in her inspiring journey, as she has now taught thousands of women how to work with the Moon’s endless beautiful cycles.

Stay tuned towards the end where Yasmin shares with us a special 2024 astrology forecast on "How to Have a Better Year in 2024" + begin your path to mastering the secrets of Moonology today!

In fact, her Moonology oracle deck, diary and calendar are a devout part of my weekly spiritual practice, and what I use with my clients to help harness one's own Divine Design.About Yasmin:

In a time when so many of us are struggling, I wanted to offer you solace from the storm with a minisode on how to find the light in the darkness.

In this episode, I share 3 powerful concepts:

  1. How to begin again, a Japanese concept called "Mushin" or beginner's mind
  2. Connecting to a community where you feel safe to be yourself, whether that's here on this podcast, my Instagram family where you can follow me here @mozen_wellness, or you feel called to preview my Live Vibrant Sisterhood, kicking off in January 2024!
  3. The spirit of G-d consciousness, and how to embody the energy that transcends your physical reality + connect to the Spirit realms.

I wholeheartedly believe that we as a society have abandoned this concept of G-d and Universal consciousness which is the root of our suffering.

Happy 100 Episodes!! Thank you so much for your support in listening + sharing in my collective mission which was birthed with Ep 1: Come ALIVE with Me in September of 2020.

Join me in celebrating this milestone with a very special episode with my first guest on the podcast, my husband, Ryan Silverman. We last spoke on Ep 6: Faith, Finances, and Stigmas of Starting (or Pivoting) an Online Biz with Ryan Silverman and SO much has shifted in the last 3 years for us as a couple, and the collective at large.

Ryan Silverman and I have been on quite the wild ride in our 10 years together (7 married), including 2 cross-country moves, the purchase of 2 homes which had undisclosed safety issues, the pandemic which led to my now chronic health conditions, family and ancestral traumas, and now the collective trauma as a Jewish people in the Israel - Palestine war.

It has felt like a constant barrage of traumas coming to light, both individual and as a couple, and we felt what better way to celebrate 100 episodes of ALIVE with the spirit of redefining resilience and how relationships (marriage, and of course any relationship) can thrive in the face of trauma through co-regulation practices.

Ryan also shares his extensive knowledge of the current conflict to shed light on how to uncover what is really TRUE online through the psychological warfare of social media and media at large.

Join Ryan and I in this "divine dance" as I call it of how to lean into the resiliency of the challenges you face individually and collectively, and through HONEST and REAL conversations which respect the other, we can truly find the ALIVENESS within. As we say in Hebrew, "May you live until 120" (Hebrew: עד מאה ועשרים שנה‎) - cheers to 120 more episodes of coming ALIVE together!Thank you for your heartfelt support - please subscribe here to help more people find this podcast, or leave a 5-star review if this show speaks to you.

In a time of collective chaos, how do we stay grounded, let alone work on raising our frequency that we emit to the world?

It seems like such a tall order, but today's guest, JJ DiGeronimo has a beautifully enlightening perspective on frequency alignment, and how to learn the lessons of our collective and individual "tower" moments.

The tower card in Tarot symbolizes the castle crumbling, a complete destruction of what was, the ultimate goal being a cleansing of what is no longer part of your Soul's path to rebuild anew, a phoenix rising type energy.

To release the stale, the tattered, the torn pieces within you that are blocking your energetic centers from rising above what is keeping you down.

JJ gives a fresh perspective on these crossroad moments in our lives where we ask, "What is this all for, why now, why this" and lean into our intuition without judgement to hear the whispers within.

To practice the great words of Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl in Man's Search for Meaning, the concept of the "space between thoughts".

In Frankl's words, “Between the stimulus and response, there is a space. And in that space lies our freedom and power to choose our responses. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” (Frankl, 1946)

Who better to learn this than from a man who survived the horrors of the Holocaust of which we are reliving again as Jews in the modern-day world.

What will you choose?
What is calling you?
How will you take this moment by moment?
What will release you from the chains that bind you?

In a time when the world feels incredibly broken, amidst my own internal traumas coming alive day to day, I am finding it incredibly healing to hold space for fellow healers, and in doing so, to REMIND YOU OF WHO YOU ARE.

In this beautiful conversation, I had the honor to connect with the creative force behind the Cosmic Collage brand, @cosmiccollage, that I have followed and embodied in my spiritual practice over the years.

In a time when the collective sense of safety and security, our Root chakra, has been clouded with the tragedies of terrOri$m, the questions of "Am I safe?" continue to arise, as has been so prevalent for the triggers and traumas of Lori Menna and her spiritual path. I know we can all resonate with this right now.***This is a calling for us all to return to our creativity (when we are able to), the Cosmic Collage within that is your own divine design.

"***This the thing that will transform this energy, this darkness, the alchemizing of our anger...." - Lori Menna I hope you enjoy this episode of acknowledging and feeling into our darkness and transmuting this energy as alchemy.

This Carl Jung quote embodies the spirit of Lori Menna + Cosmic Collage.

“People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”― Carl Jung

In a time when I am finding it so hard to put how I feel in words, I was blessed to have my first guest interview since the October 7th attacks on Israel with a woman I met in a trauma healing community, Jill Pagano.

Jill is the host of The Power of Expression pod and this conversation felt so fitting for the times we are living through as to how important the "power of expression" is RIGHT NOW, at least for those of us who are called to this mission.

From the moment I remember hearing some of Jill's childhood trauma stories, I felt instantly connected to her at a Soul level, and this conversation was the first time we both met live to share each other's experiences and why a deep level of awareness is calling us now to break the cycle of our robotic nature as a collective, and ask ourselves some of these powerful questions to fully awaken:

  • How robotic am I?
  • What is my routine, do I even have one?
  • What is my self care?
  • How do I handle challenge?
  • What triggers me? Why?

Just pause. Deep breath. Hand on your heart....connect inward.

In the beautiful words of Jill Pagano in this episode, "listening to this pod is a first step"!

Thank you for supporting our collective missions of the power of expression!

XOXO,
Jessica

In light of the recent tragic events in Israel, I am taking a moment to honor World Mental Health Day and share with you my listeners what is on my heart. Mental health affects all of us. 1 in 4 suffer everyday. I vow to say this stat is probably an understatement.

I myself am doing the best I can to show up + spread truth while honoring my own mental health. However, I am finding myself at a loss for words.

Seeing people deny our reality is heartbreaking and perpetuates this collective trauma.

This is why I’m ALIVE.

If my grandparents hadn’t survived the Nazis in the Holocaust I wouldn’t be here to share this message.

Why ALIVE to me is such a powerful word.

I’ve lived an entire life as a Jew where our very existence has been challenged time and again.

Sending you all so much grace to whatever you are feeling right now. Hold yourself with deep compassion in knowing just being there for you right now is ENOUGH.

Much love.

Continuing with the conversation of how to deal with uncertainty from the last episode, today I speak on how to find emotional freedom and liberate yourself from the need to know.

From a spiritual perspective, unknowing is where you free yourself from the constant connection to logic and the physical world of societal expectations and surrender to the feminine flow of the Divine Mother and let Spirit guide your path.

I recorded this episode from a very wounded place, but it is in these moments that one surrenders to Spirit to allow whatever is meant to move through me to be shared with you, a live example of the theme of this episode. I let go of the expectations of what I had planned, the constant mind chatter of whether or not this episode would be everything I had intended, and just allowed myself to release the chains that bind me emotionally to record and just RELEASE.

This is a metaphor for life, as the great Mark Twain says, The trouble with the world is not that people know too little; it's that they know so many things that just aren't so. — Mark Twain

Therefore, I challenge you to let go of your expectations today and see what unfolds for you in the experience of listening to this episode. Would love to know what comes up for you, DM here on Instagram.

Many blessings!

Uncertainty is very unsettling. It is human nature to want to know what lies ahead, and how to best protect yourself in situations that arise as anxiety.

If you have experienced trauma in your life, there's an added layer to uncertainty in the form of hypervigilance, which is when you're constantly on high alert for potential threats around you, even if it's not a physical threat. The feeling of being a canary in a coalmine! (Love the song, not the feeling)

The elevation of your mental and survival state becomes your modus operandi in that moment.

But it doesn't have to when you know how to deal with uncertainty and the anxiety that comes with it.

This description may seem very sobering, but I know more than anything the feeling of being so crippled by the uncertainty that just moving through your day feels hard, where you feel frozen (literally!) and have no energy or insight as to how to move forward from this state of being.

Inspired by my own personal experience this past month, this episode unlocks 5 ways to deal with uncertainty + see the signs amidst the chaos that surrounds you.

**To give yourself permission to feel all the feels, and not gaslight yourself and your experience as the world often does - and learn how to wildly LOVE yourself in the process of transformation and healing.

To know as Kacey Musgraves says in one of my fave songs, "there is always be a rainbow hanging over your head"...and that clouds are always passing, never here to stay.**
Sending you wild love through this!!! If you feel called to continue this conversation with me, please send me a message here. I love to connect with my listeners. This is why I do this, to be the rainbow above someone's head as I would have wanted in my storm.

XOXO,
Jess

Are you tired of staying small just to fit in, and feel like you belong? If so, this episode will evoke inside of you the feeling that "you are safe to take up space" and MAKE SOME NOISE!

Today's guest, DeAhn Robbins, is a mindset + empowerment coach who after years of living the labels, has learned what it means to BEGIN LIVING BOLD, to live out loud unapologetically and hang her freak flag HIGH!
She always felt like something was missing, her uniqueness, her inner power, and her JOY in living by feeling obligated and giving away her power to "go along to get along".

In her beautiful words, "When you don't use your voice, you give away your power."

She shares invaluable wisdom on what inner power truly means, and how to begin in small steps to take your power back. To release the chains of perfectionism and societal pressures to motivate, and not restrict you, and surrender the harsh self critic within you.

A must-listen for anyone who has felt like a people pleaser, and truly desires to take steps towards asking for what YOU need, and living for yourself unapologetically! After this hour, you will finally FEEL SAFE TO TAKE UP SPACE.About DeAhn Robbins:De Ahn Robbins is a mindset and empowerment coach living out her passion by helping women recognize and re-ignite her authentic self (her inner power) and understand how to integrate that into the life of her choosing.

After accomplishing all of the things she felt she “should” do in her life in order to be successful and happy - earning her degree, getting married, raising two amazing children., and having a long and successful career, it always felt like something was missing or not quite right.

Through her personal inner work and journey, she found the missing link ~ she forgot to choose “herself” as well. De Ahn began living her life of joy and contentment by living her life through the lens of “could” ~ without limiting herself to what’s possible in the “should.” She now lovingly speaks her truth, prioritizes her needs and boundaries, and takes up all of her divinely given space in this world.

She finally feels SAFE to take up space! And it is her soul’s desire to help other women feel the same. To live the life of their choosing feeling fulfilled and empowered.

Living in today's world can be incredibly overwhelming, on top of what you already carry in your own personal life + past traumas. There are some days I feel so consumed by it all, especially being a highly sensitive soul and empath, that I have to completely disconnect to hear my own voice and Soul's needs and desires.

But what if I told you that all of this can be transmuted for you to find the "magic in the mess"? What if those feelings of overwhelm, or emptiness inside are just the physical and emotional body's natural intelligence letting you know that "something needs to shift"...before it becomes a bigger issue. Or, maybe the challenge is a test of your emotional and spiritual resiliency, so you can work this muscle, just as you would physically to train your body to perform at its peak?

Without a healthy dose of stress, one cannot taste the sweetness. Where this can become "chronic" is when the stress reaches what is called its "allostatic load" which is **the cumulative burden of stress + life events.

In this solo episode, I uncover 5 powerful ways to uncover the magic in your mess. To guide your perspective towards a new level of consciousness that transmutes your energy from hurting to healing. To learn how to embrace the "messy middle" on your journey towards living in alignment with your Soul's true longings, and tune out the noise of what society says you SHOULD be, towards understanding that your body + Spirit already knows the way.**Failure is simply a sign that your energy + efforts will result in a desired outcome sooner or later, just not in the expected timeline we as humans feel is REAL. Surrender to Spirit, and know there is a purpose to the pause. Healing is happening.

Storms don't last forever.

Stay tuned till the end where I pull a card for you from my Inner Star Magic deck to give you clarity in all the confusion!Where is the magic in your mess? There are so many things you don't know until you know. As a sensitive child, no one taught you how to navigate life and deal with the emotions you are feeling, the same way we learn the ABC's.
As we grow older, this translates into carrying these emotions within the physical body, but again - often not knowing what's happening inside of you, other than feeling "something is amiss", or beginning to open to the signs around you.

In this episode, Athena Monet brings her Shamanic wisdom to uncover what this looks like, and how to see the signs of a "breakdown" so you can shift into a state of "breakthrough" which is where you have agency, and freedom of choice to live a different reality.

Awareness brings wisdom, and through this wisdom, you can see life with new eyes, and CHOOSE differently. This is the Shamanic way, to first uncover what has been weighing you down physically to discover the emotional + spiritual body underneath the pain.

Ultimately, Athena shares, it is about bringing you back home to yourself, in classic Alice in Wonderland style!

Listen now to open yourself to curiosity, wonder, and the modern magic that the Seaside Shaman has gifted you today!

Who were you as a child, and how does that reflect who you are today?

From a trauma-informed perspective, inner child healing is a beautiful practice of falling in love with yourself and knowing and LOVING your inner child.

In this episode, my special guest Jana Wilson shares a wealth of knowledge on the concept of the Wise Little One and unearthing the wounded child within each of us.

Triggers are the inner child at play, and when you can access your child, or even through the work of past life regression, as Jana speaks to, you can "unhook" from your parent of the past to call forth the nectar of reparenting yourself with the love, grace, and care you never had.

Jana shares her powerful testimony here on the show as she does in her memoir, Wise Little One, a deeply personal journey of triumph over childhood trauma and the transformative power of connecting with one's inner child.
Wise Little One is a guidebook for anyone who seeks to rediscover their authentic self. Jana's heartfelt anecdotes and practical advice offer invaluable tools for self-reflection, self-care, and cultivating a loving relationship with yourself. Through her own journey, she shows us how to harness the power of self-compassion, forgiveness, and resilience to overcome and learn from the past to manifest an inspiring future.Words cannot do this episode justice, as Jana's energy and wisdom is infused with GOLD that evoke a sense of reconnection not just to your inner child, but to help heal your heart that holds so much. The heart has 5,000 times the signals to the brain, as the brain does to the heart. Let this episode heal your heart. Use memory, don’t allow memory to use you.” ~ Deepak Chopra

Do you feel like you never have enough time, or become easily overwhelmed and stressed? If your answer is yes, this episode is solid GOLD for you to understand WHY and how your brain is wired!
If you have experienced trauma, this may affect your cognition even more, which is empowering as we learn how to rewire these trauma patterns so you can find freedom from your traumas + see life through a new lens.

In a wildly fascinating conversation with Brain Engineer, ST Rappaport, this episode bridges the gaps to share how our minds work as an integration of cognitive function + cognitive emotion.

In the trauma informed and spiritual wellness world, we talk a lot about managing and calming our emotions, but rarely is the concept of cognitive function and how to rewire our brains spoke about with a blend concrete + spiritual ties.

According to ST, scientific research indicates that the root issue lies in specific gaps within your thinking skills that demand your attention.

In this episode, we uncover:

  • The concept of time + what "time blindness" means
  • Reuven Feuerstein's inspirations in cognitive work as it relates to his family's trauma in the Holocaust
  • Why some tasks are easier for you than others!
  • The trauma brain + how to retrain your brain to improve cognition and heal your trauma ties.

About ST Rappaport:

I'm ST Rappaport, a brain engineer and in 5th grade I still couldn't read properly. After endless hours of tutors that left nothing but high bills, it was time to take another approach. Let’s rewire the brain and solve the real problem.

Usually, when a person has a problem, they solve what they see at the surface. Let’s say, for example, you never make the deadlines you set for yourself and it’s getting really frustrating, so you decided from now on you’ll finish all your tasks 24 hours early. It might work for a week or two but pretty quickly you’ll be late again. Why?

This is because there is a reason WHY you are constantly being late. You’re not trying to but there’s another problem. Maybe it’s because you never know how to start or maybe it’s because once you get distracted it’s extremely difficult to refocus or maybe doing research just messes with your brain and you can’t seem to do it.

When you solve the real core problem (and there might be a few!) then everything else will fall into place.

Are you a creature of habit, or do you feel challenged to break the cycles + stories of what has been conditioned in your life? As a trauma-informed wellness expert and fellow #cyclebreaker, the 3 words "breaking the cycle" run deep as a practice to healing inner child, ancestral and intergenerational trauma wounds.

In a fun, light hearted conversation with Emily + Stephanie of the Cycle Chats pod, this episode demystifies not only what "breaking the cycle" means, but how to even understand the essence of the profound question "Who am I", and what does it truly mean to be "myself"? Is this me, or am I repeating cycles of stories that have been passed down through family, or even friends in childhood?

Em + Steph and I go deep into how we can become our own #cyclebreaker by making decisions that break the cycles and go against the grain, saying NO to what doesn't feel aligned, and choosing your own path as a programming of your own design!

We talk about what loving yourself looks like, what is love even, and how do you not lose yourself in a relationship?

Again, everything you do is connected to a cycle, so this episode is guaranteed to spark revelations within your world to join us in the revolution of "breaking the cycle" not just in stories, but in healing the mental health epidemic and traumas we all carry.About Cycle Chats - Emily + Stephanie:Emily and Stephanie were twin flames brought together by bright pink lipstick. Though their friendship began with Stephanie stalking Emily through costume racks they quickly became sisters. They worked together at a children’s theater where they taught their students to be brave, thoughtful, and most importantly themselves. Once the pandemic hit they both lost their jobs, and as Stephanie says floated in a pool of insecurity knowing they couldn’t sustain that lifestyle.

They both truly missed educating their students, working together, and having real conversations about real issues….so Cycle Chats was born!

They started their podcast to educate, empower, and inspire women of all ages to be the best versions of themselves. So here they are almost 18 months later, forever changed from the amazing women they get to work with and their community of cycle cats who are constantly showing them love.

So much of what you carry is not your own. Intergenerational trauma can carry up to 7 generations through your lineage. While it may be a part of your family's history, it doesn't have to be your burden to bear in this lifetime.

In fact, it may be your calling to break the cycle for your lifetime + future generations to come, your children, grandchildren, and their children (up to 7 generations forward!)

In this powerful conversation with Manpreet Johal Bernie, host of the Heart's Happiness show, we uncover the intricacies that lie underneath ancestral wounds, and how these feelings and ways we felt we needed to be as a child was simply a means of survival passed down from our parents.

Interestingly enough, I found Manpreet through a blog that was sent to me by my own brother on this very topic, and the resonance of both of our family's struggles intertwine, even though we come from very different cultures and lineages.

The stories of survival, women feeling controlled by the Masculine way, arranged marriages, the narcissist + empath dynamics, and a contemplating a life worth living are all unravelled in one of the deepest and yet uplifting conversations I've had on the show to give you hope in your healing journey to uncovering and recovering from the traumas we all carry (we speak to this too!)

Manpreet and I are dedicated to this mission of trauma awareness to break the cycles for generations + to leave a legacy of healing what has been wounded within for centuries of our bloodlines!About Manpreet:

Manpreet Johal Bernie is a trauma transformation coach and the creator of podcaster Heart's Happiness. She is a Childhood trauma survivor and mentor to help others to rewrite their stories and find their own happiness.

In her words,

I want to help people heal their inter-generational trauma so they can live healthier and happier lives. Life is just too short to be living in pain. When we heal our trauma, we not only heal ourselves but we are also healthier people for our partners, our children, our families and the world we live in. Regulating your mental state, especially in times of feeling triggered, can be quite challenging. How do you bring yourself back, without continuing to feel reliant on others?

Or even worse, feeling like you're asking for help and not getting what you need.

In the trauma informed wellness world, we speak about this concept of "self regulation", which is a way to calm your nervous system without being dependent on the outside world to help you in times of distress.

To literally, regulate yourself in a way that feels safe and nurturing to your emotions, so you can be there for yourself and break the cycle of self-abandonment. (Listen to my last episode on this if you haven't already!)

In this episode, I will uncover 4 powerful ways to self-regulate + naturally produce Serotonin, which is a chemical that carries messages between nerve cells in the brain and throughout your body.

Serotonin plays a key role in such body functions as mood, sleep, digestion, nausea, wound healing, bone health, and sexual desire - and has a longer lasting effect than Dopamine - which is a sense of temporary pleasure, or that quick fix!

Stay tuned towards the end of the episode where I do a live 3-card reading from Rebecca Campbell's oracle deck, The Healing Waters, for the New Moon in Cancer this week.

Regardless of when you listen, the resonance of these cards will help you anytime you are ready for a FRESH START!

Are you tired of feeling abandoned by others? Often times, you don't realize it starts with yourself and small ways you have neglected your needs.

In a society that is constantly telling you what you need, how can you blame yourself? Collectively, we are conditioned to thinking that our worth is tied to stories of societal expectations, or what others have told us we "should" be.

The world reveres the concepts of the "expert" to make you question your own intuition, and to give away our power to those that have studied the very essence of who you KNOW you are.

In this episode, I uncover the root cause of the abandonment wound, and how to recognize if you have been neglecting your needs + living the stories that have become your own.

There is a reason why you do what you do. From a trauma-informed perspective, this concept that "we are the sum of parts" comes from the work of Richard Schwartz with IFS, Internal Family Systems.

You will learn how to integrate these parts, both your light + shadow sides to begin to heal the abandonment wound and truly learn what it is to LOVE yourself beyond the bubble baths and pedicures!

I will also share 9 simple ways you can begin to start showing up for yourself, for even as little as one minute increments!

“The goal of IFS is not to eliminate parts, but to get them to work together in harmony. This leads to a greater sense of wholeness and integration.” – Richard Schwartz.

Are you an overthinker, or easily overwhelmed? If so, this episode is full of golden nuggets as to how you can stop overcomplicating + embrace the mantra of “let it be easy” from a trauma-informed perspective.

I will share 6 ways to learn to embrace the easy, and simplify your life with the spirit of ONENess and Somatic presencing.

When you can’t get out of your head, get into your body in a way that connects Soma (Greek for body-mind awareness) to your psyche.

Somatic movements repattern trauma/stress responses that are stuck in the body, help with vascular/fluid movements, and improve our body’s ability to pendulate – allowing more life force to flow through.I will also share some powerful Somatic practices on the podcast, a simple grounding practice to repattern your addiction to overthinking and over complicating!

Stay tuned to the end, where I will close with a message from Spirit with an oracle card reading, which is another enlightening way to embrace the easy!

Take it easy baby, take it as it comes - specialize in having fun!

As a podcast listener, you already have a deep connection to the healing power of audio + sound healing. Music is a frequency and a vibration that can transcend your current reality and elevate your mental state. In this 2 part series, we will uncover the magic and medicine of Mantra + music as a frequency healer through the beautiful creations of Nadav Kahn.

This episode is an experience of Nadav’s transcendent powers through sound healing and Vedic Mantra meditation.

From a trauma informed perspective, Mantra is also a beautiful tool to break cycles of past + ancestral wounds through Vagal toning + repetition in cycles.

In his time in India, he shares the richness of heart and the fragility of life we all experience in these transformative spaces, whether through travel or by transmuting through sound. His resonance reminded me of the Beatles time at the Ashram in India, which inspired 40+ of their greatest hits of all time, a creative renaissance for my favorite + one of the greatest bands of ALL time!

In discovering India, I discovered myself.

That is exactly the energy he exudes through his music, and make sure to stay tuned till the end where I will share one of his Peace meditations, an Ashtanga Closing Mantra from his Invocation album.

From Om to Shalom, my conversation with Nadav in this episode was truly one of the highlights of hosting this podcast!

Learn how music can heal mental health + become a simple part of your healing practice.

About Nadav:

Nadav Kahn is an Israeli-born, APRA award winning singer/songwriter, producer, meditation and mantra teacher & mentor. His first band Gelbison, was signed to EMI music, leading him to tour the world with various collaborative & solo projects, releasing 12 albums to date. Over 20 years, Nadav has spent extensive time in India on a quest for ‘something more’. It was there that he began studying the mystical powers of music, Vedic chants and also dived into Jewish mysticism. These experiences inspired his meditative albums in both Sanskrit and his native tongue, Hebrew. Nadav approaches his music-making as a sonic and meditative journey, using his voice as prayer to quiet the mind and open the heart to ones’ own innate wisdom.

In a conversation that is near and dear to my heart stepping away from the Wall Street way of being, this episode touches on hustle culture and the inner knowing of when it’s time to step away and off the hamster wheel of life. Society has ingrained in our souls the feelings of worth as a title, or elevation up the corporate ladder, where especially as women, we only feel our worth is a product of the masculine embodiment of DOING, rather than BEING as we are, and knowing this alone is ENOUGH.

From a trauma-informed perspective, staying in ANY situation whether that’s a toxic lifestyle, career, relationship, or patterning ingrained in your everyday habits can cause lasting energetic drains that not only suck your Soul dry, but leave you with the remnants of trauma that you carry long after the toxic experience is gone.

In this 2 part series, Sara unlocks her secrets of pioneering “The Great Resignation” movement to heal from the effects of her stress-induced diagnosis that left her nervous system traumatized and dysregulated, leading her to a spiritual experience in the Sacred Valley of Peru. She shares how to know when it’s OK to walk away, how to cultivate courage to make bold moves, and how she has created not just a movement, but a deeper message for women to embody a more feminine way of working to break the cycle of the hustle over heart mentality.

If you’ve felt the calling for change in your life, this episode will help you cultivate the courage and know your next move to STEP AWAY with grace, confidence, and connection to something deeper than yourself.

About Sara:

Sara McElroy is a former hustle culture devotee, ex-chief marketing officer, the Wall Street Journal’s poster girl for pandemic career burnout, and a two-time member of the Great Resignation: class of 2021 and 2022. Following a stress-induced shingles diagnosis in early 2021, Sara decided to hit the reset button on her life; she quit her hard-won CMO job and trekked to Peru's Sacred Valley to reset her frayed nervous system. When she returned, she relocated from the buzzy metropolis of Atlanta to the beach in South Florida for a new job and a fresh start. But she once again encountered deeply ingrained cultural issues in her new role, and ultimately, she walked away again. Finding herself in the company of millions of other women who also set unfulfilling jobs ablaze during the Great Resignation, she returned to her journalism roots and began to explore the stories, breaking points, and defining moments that led women to seek greater opportunity mid-pandemic. These conversations became the genesis of Raze to Rise – an organization created to amplify women’s voices from the Great Resignation and inspire others to blaze new trails in their own careers.

Have you ever felt imprisoned by the thoughts in your mind, when your worst fear becomes reality? In this episode, I had the pleasure of connecting with my fellow Podfest fam and host of the Nightmare Success podcast, Brent Cassity to speak about breaking free of the prison of your mind.

Brent and I were on a panel at Podfest called “Finding Freedom from Trauma” and aligned on the concept of feeling imprisoned by thoughts that can become addictive + self-sabotaging, we can’t find our way out, much like being locked away without a key.

Brent brings this fresh perspective having served himself 5 years at Leavenworth prison. He shares glowing insight of how to channel this freedom mindset and achieve what he calls “nightmare success” despite your worst fears becoming reality.

Nothing is ever as bad as your mind makes it out to be” is one of his mantras towards achieving liberation to differentiate between having a “survivor vs “victim” mentality.

He shares 5 powerful practices to rise from the depths of any darkness you are facing so you don’t lose what makes you YOU amidst life’s challenges.

Your rock bottom can be a new beginning.” - Brent Cassity

About Brent:

Brent Cassity is the author of the Book Nightmare Success: Loyalty, Betrayal, Life Behind Bars, Adapting, And Finally Breaking Free: A Memoir. He is a host of the popular podcast Nightmare Success In and Out. Brent was an innovative CEO of Forever Enterprises, a national company, which he grew from a regional company to operating in 22 states.

He was recognized by the national media; TIME, CNN, FORTUNE, Forbes, WALL STREET JOURNAL, cover story of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT to name a few. HBO even did documentary The Young and the Dead that spawned the popular HBO Series Six Feet Under.

Just when he thought he had it all, he lost it all and found himself standing at the Gates of Leavenworth to serve a 5-year sentence.

What happens when your worst fear becomes your reality? He has coined the phrase “Nightmare Success” because everything you want is on the other side of fear. How did the one thing that Brent most feared…the one thing he said would never happen to him…happen?

In light of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, and Taurus season (my birthday is May 12th), this solo episode is dedicated to DEEP HEALING, and connecting to this powerful Earth element within you.

Healing is not linear, even though the world pressures you to live in a linear fashion - to see progress instantaneously, the quick fix, or that magic pill that will cure your ailments, physically + mentally.

If you have experienced any trauma or mental distress, you know that "you can't rush your healing", for what actually happens is the body holds onto the stress and traumatic memories long after the event has happened.

As the great Peter Levine says, "trauma is not what happens to you, but what happens inside of you at the absence of an empathetic witness". These are the moments where you continue to carry the trauma with you, often stemming from childhood developing between the ages of 0-7.

In this episode, I invite you to liberate your limits + enter the quantum field of energy where all is possible, and healing can happen as if it was a "quantum leap", the true magic pill connected to the Cosmos.

I share with you how mental health becomes "chronic", your nervous system enters a state of dysregulation, and the body disconnects, and with this knowledge, SHIFT TO A HIGHER VIBRATION by the Peter Levine's concept of "waking the tiger".Animals experience stress, yet don't hold onto to traumatic experiences as we humans do!

I also uncover your 3 brains, and WHY affirmations alone are not enough, and how to truly EMBODY your emotions through somatic experiencing which will we practice together LIVE on this episode!

Stay tuned till the end where I share 4 ways to begin your healing journey with ancient practices( in as little as 30 seconds a day), because as Trevor Hall says in his song (which inspired this episode):

Well, everybody's got that chapter
Of dark and darker days, yeah
Saturn seems to be returning
And his essence can't be tamed
Some may like to fight it
Try to plan a secret attack
But the more you push it
The more it's pushin' you back. - Trevor Hall
I truly FELT connected to portals of a higher dimension, or diamond consciousness when recording this episode - one of my best yet!

If this touched your heart, and you want to give back...the greatest gift you can give me this month for my birthday is to reach out to me on Instagram @mozen_wellness, email me at jessica@mozenwellness.com, or rate + give my podcast a 5-star review!

Were you told as a child "stop being so sensitive", or felt the need to apologize for your sensitive + soft Nature? In a world that does not revere + respect sensitivity, this can leave those of us who are to experience micro-traumas (or as we talked about in Ep. 71, covert traumas) and feelings of aloneness, anxiety, and frustration in not feeling understood and accepted as you are.

In a beautiful conversation with Alissa Boyer of the Sensitive and Soulful podcast, you will learn how to overcome this shame of being sensitive and learn how to harness your HSP powers which is the joy and divine gift of deeply experiencing life. As Alissa speaks about, being highly sensitive is a missing barrier between you and the rest of the world, but what if that missing barrier allowed you to access portals that create the visionaries and luminaries of life?

For those listening that are not highly sensitive, Alissa also shares guidance for being an ally and how to help those in your life that are highly sensitive feel loved, respected, and accepted for their sensitive nature without being ostracized. By the end of the episode, you will truly be feeling the embodiment of Alissa's teachings which is an "I have my own back" kind of energy to surrender the feeling of being a "canary in a coalmine" (which is one of my fave Police songs, fyi!) - listen here! In fact, my highly sensitive soul is even crying now writing this listening to this song, LOL.

About Alissa:

Alissa Boyer is a Mentor for Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) with a passion for helping fellow HSPs learn how to unapologetically embrace their sensitivity and use it as a strength in their lives. She’s the creator of several online programs including The Highly Sensitive & Soulful Membership and Sensitive & Soulful Self-Worth. Alissa also offers business mentorship to HSPs, hosts a podcast called The Sensitive & Soulful Show, and writes for the award-winning HSP blog, Highly Sensitive Refuge. Healing isn’t linear, although the world is designed to embody this masculine way of living and being, Nature and Source is cyclical. Meaning, the path to getting unstuck and healing is in cycles and seasons and taking it in small steps and doses at a time.

We are primed to adapt to change. It’s only the ego mind that keeps us stuck in spirals and staying the same, as it fears disruption of the current stress patterns and cycles.

In this episode, I share with you a myriad of ways on how to get UNSTUCK now, and create a practice of the "miracle" of healing in microdoses.

You will learn how to unravel the covert traumas (as my guest Alex Howard spoke about in Ep. 71) + collective wounds that created the childhood and ancestral wounds you experience today. What was created as "chronic" pain and traumas can be UNDONE through a life of shifting from the Newtonian to the Quantum, or from the limited and logical mind to the infinite 99.999999% quantum reality of consciousness.

Would love to know what ideas sparked for you, send me a DM on Instagram so I can celebrate and support you on your healing journey.

Healing in micro-moments is the secret "miracle" to help you get unstuck and finally begin to come ALIVE!

In one of the most magical and intimately REAL conversations I've had on the podcast, I had the honor of connecting with Rebecca Capps to talk about everything from food addiction, body shaming, childhood trauma wounds, and how to align with alchemy + the magic of miracles (ala, A Course in Miracles) as a way to RISE above the madness in your mind. Rebecca was even married by the master of A Course in Miracles herself, Marianne Williamson!

Breaking cycles of childhood and ancestral trauma wounds can be tricky, as it's deeply rooted within our DNA + subconscious patterns, which is the root cause of self-sabotage. Meaning, it become somewhat of a silent addiction, and one that is connected to everything you do, how you feel about yourself, and how you treat your body in the process.

As Rebecca speaks about in this episode, "The body is on display", meaning food as a coping mechanism can be challenging as it's the addiction you wear for everyone to see.

We also uncover the powerful concept of "Food as a sense of safety + control", which explains WHY you may have a deeply rooted relationship to food that may actually be limiting your life.

Rebecca and I both share a past of battling with our bodies, and the stories we keep telling ourselves, this narrative that Rebecca speaks about that is a pivotal part of trauma healing and uncovering root cause "sabotage".

How do we shift out of this trauma story? Listen to this episode to uncover the secrets of healing self-sabotage!

About Rebecca:

Rebecca Capps is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist committed to helping clients feel good about their body and happy in life—without food guilt or dieting. She named her practice Mind-Body Thrive, because she takes a holistic approach and believes that in order to thrive, one must consider both the mind and body. Trauma is often described as a catastrophic event that leaves resonance, but the concept of micro-traumas or “covert trauma” as Alex Howard defines, often goes understated and ignored in the healing world.

In this powerful episode with Alex Howard, I had the divine pleasure of connecting with a mentor of mine in the trauma field that finally helped me feel seen for what I have experienced most of my life, a series of covert traumas that collectively become catastrophic to your psyche and nervous system over time.

If you’ve ever felt sad, or anxious and don’t know why, this could be you. In fact, it was when I heard Trevor Hall on a podcast say these words that I finally felt seen for what I carried with me all my life.

What you carry over time becomes trauma in the body, and most chronic conditions or fatigue result from carrying past trauma, both from childhood or ancestral wounds.

Alex will “decode your fatigue” in this episode as he’s done in his book and teach you how to listen to your body so the signs don’t continue to become symptoms you carry for life.

A must listen episode for anyone experiencing physical symptoms from trauma!

Highlights:

  • Alex's Story + How It Inspired His Work
  • ACE's - Adverse Childhood Experiences vs. Covert Traumas as Conditional Love + echo throughout adult life
  • 3 Core Needs: Boundaries, Safety + Love
  • Building a sense of safety that is not dependent on others
  • Breakthrough as owning we have trauma
  • Diagnoses as labels for symptoms, not the condition itself
  • What's actually going on and perception as reality - "lens we see through the issue is the issue itself"
  • What is the place that feels safe, yet a little uncomfortable?
  • Book recommendation: Dan Millman, Way of the Peaceful Warrior

About Alex:

Alex Howard is CEO of the Alex Howard Group, an international group of businesses which includes leading clinic The Optimum Health Clinic, online learning platform Conscious Life, online coaching program the RESET Program, and professional training programs Therapeutic Coaching and Therapeutic Nutrition.

Alex is passionate about making physical and emotional healing accessible to everyone, and in the last few years his Super Conference series has been attended by over 1 million people, featuring trauma experts such as Dr. Bruce Lipton, Peter Levine, Thomas Hubl, and Britt Frank. Alex has also published academic research in publications such as the British Medical Journal Open and Psychology and Health, and is the author of Why Me? and Decode Your Fatigue. The words "there is no rush" can be so comforting in a world that constantly diverts your attention away from the present moment. From a trauma-informed perspective, our brains often live in the past which causes depression, or in the future, which causes hypervigilance and constantly living in a state of anxiety.

Neither one engages you in the ONLY state we truly live and feel ALIVE in, which is the present moment.

In a beautiful conversation with Padma Gordon, this episode evokes pure PRESENCE within you, beginning with the deep inner knowing that there is no rush.

When you savor simple pleasures, life slows down. You elongate experiences enough to truly feel them, instead of thinking them away by living in the past or future.

You no longer live in resentment, or hold back what lives inside of you so "what you really want to say" is what comes out, and you live in a true + authentic presence instead of what others desire you to be.

This is the wisdom Padma beautifully embodies in her book, Being Together: Practical Wisdom for Loving Yourself and Your Partner.

Feeling stuck, lazy, or crazy? You're not, and my guest today on the podcast, Britt Frank, is here to tell you why!

In a world obsessed with creating identity, labels have become normalized so much that it's driving those of us prone to experience mental distress to feel stuck, lazy, and CRAZY!

Britt is a breath of fresh air in this episode, offering her expertise and insight on the neuroscience of "stuck" as the author of the book, The Science of Stuck.

In her personal practice, she is an advocate of detaching from your diagnosis and not identifying with your circumstances so much that it becomes an obsession that keeps you stuck in the affirmation of your identity.

She encourages you to focus on anxiety (or your condition) as a "check engine light" that is a symptom, not the problem. You are not your illness, you are simply experiencing an "episode" in the moment that is a PART of you, not all of you.

She also brings light to the concepts of brain indigestion, shadow intelligence, and panic episodes (not attacks!)

Calm is not the goal, as is not the Zenned blissed out mind, it's to stay in a state where CHOICES are possible. A true GEM of an episode!

"Stuck is not a final destination." - Britt Frank

About Britt:

Britt Frank, MSW, LSCSW, SEP is a clinician, educator and trauma specialist. She speaks and writes widely about the mental health myths that keep us stuck and stressed. Britt

received her BA from Duke University and her MSW from the University of Kansas, where she later became an award winning adjunct professor. She is a Somatic Experiencing

Practitioner and Level 3 trained in the Internal Family Systems therapeutic model. Britt was a primary therapist at a drug and alcohol treatment center, an inpatient therapist at a children’s psychiatric hospital, and now owns a private practice. Do you trust the voice inside of you, or the divine signs that are messages from the Universe? Or maybe you are wondering how to even uncover these subtle signs? If so, today’s episode is a serendipitous conversation with my guest, Tina Conroy @theintuitivewoman, Medium + Spiritual Teacher.

We both felt drawn to each other’s energy and followed this intuitive nudge at PodFest to explore each other’s energy in this conversation around inheriting her grandmother’s gifts at a young age - which Tina says lives inside all of us.

If we have a connection with the world around us, what lives inside of us? Even connecting to the dream world can be a portal of divine signs through prophetic dreams, and channeling signs from your angels and spirit guides.

And if you’re someone that needs the science behind this to trust the wisdom within, Tina explores this connection with her Reiki practice in healing women through breast cancer, and reveals how to bridge the Spirit + Science connection which has been suppressed for centuries, especially within the feminine voice.

Make sure you stay till the end, when you have the pleasure of experiencing a live channeling session, which I wholeheartedly believe will uncover divine messages for you as there is a reason you clicked on this episode today!

Trust begins here.

About Tina:

It all started when…

Since childhood, I’ve known that I’m connected to something greater than me. At an early age I realized that I inherited my psychic grandmother’s gift of prophetic dreams – visions that were always vivid, full of sensory detail and eventually real. Since then, I’ve spent over 20 years attuning my mind and body to truly listen to that internal voice that can predict or advise and is inspired by a greater power.

Now I help others to strengthen their inner voice by improving mental and physical health to synchronize the mind - body connection. As an intuitive energy healer and medium, I host The Intuitive Woman Podcast, a weekly podcast that explores intuition. I’m a yoga instructor and Reiki Master Teacher at The Center for Wellness and Integrative Medicine.

I work with women to develop their intuition, connect with their inner guidance and create a passionate, spiritual life.

Love isn’t always easy. It is a conscious choice of your relationship to yourself + all in your world.

From a trauma informed perspective, "Love as a conscious choice" empowers you to CHOOSE a different reality, rather than leave it to a fleeting feeling or emotion, that can leave you feeling powerless.

In this episode, I uncover 3 ways to consciously choose LOVE in your life and take your power back:

  1. Self love - Self talk + how to reprogram your reality
  2. Love in relationships - Setting Physical + Energetic Boundaries
  3. Collective love 💘 - Practice of letting go, and acceptance as a ritual.

Make sure you stay tuned to the end where we will practice conscious love together in a meditation "Awakening The Divine Dreamer".

Om Kiri Kiri Swaha - May you receive your answers in your dreams.

At the end of the day, Love is all that remains.

How do you transmute your trauma? In a powerful testimony, this week’s episode with Danielle Matthews reveals the power of mind control, quantum healing, and defying her diagnosis from a brain injury that doctors said she would never fully recover in her “new normal”.

She says “anything is possible with mind control” and she shares with us the tools, techniques and her journey to recovery to defy the odds of the medical world to a breakthrough recovery that is miraculous and divine ✨, just as we randomly met at PodFest just weeks ago.

The immersion of spirit and science based evidence comes alive in our conversation and beautifully explains the awakening that happens when we honor both Eastern and Western traditions.

All belongs. ❤️

About Danielle:

At the age of 23 Danielle was hit by a drunk driver and sustained a life-altering injury to her brain. The medical world said there was no hope of recovery & told her to accept this life as her “new normal”.

Although her body was physically impaired, her spirit was strong & she refused to believe their diagnoses. Her mind was determined to recover…and she did! Through the power of what she refers to as ‘Mind Control,’ she attracted the mindset, techniques, and exact quantum healing technologies needed to fully recover.

She has since built an international business, authored an e-book called 'Mind Control' and shares her life-altering experience with countless people around the globe.

The collective is calling us to remember our roots. The spiritual path can sometimes feel lonely and unsettling as your Spirit elevates to an expanded state of consciousness. The ego presents itself as resistance, and the activation itself is a divine dance of Shiva and Shakti, or the masculine and feminine weaving to bring yourself back to a state of equanimity.

In the most memorable conversation to date I have had on this podcast, words cannot express the deep emotions I felt in connection with Rukmani and the essence of her pure soul. Since finding her serendipitously as a devout listener of her podcast, The Rise of the Feminine, I longed to be in her energy and get to know the woman behind her powerful voice.

She has a way of connecting to your heart chakra and awakening your aura, where time and space boundaries are limitless, and you, the listener, can become a part of this Kundalini experience with us in conversation.

In Rukmani's words, I exist, yet I don't, which asks us to question our very existence and aliveness on the physical + spiritual realms. To feel what it truly feels like to be held in the womb of your own transformation, and feel deeply supported by Mother Moon + Father Sun, in reverence.

Come heal your heart, and release your ancestral and collective wounds with us, and experience a LIVE channelling session with Rukmani herself later in the episode!

"It is an honor to witness and support other sisters as I had no real (physical) support when the Kundalini Awakening first happened. I had to figure it all out myself by surrendering to Source. I am glad I did though, so I can be the difference in others' lives; the difference I wanted to have when I struggled." - Rukmani Kaur

About Rukmani:

Born and raised in Lima, Perú, Rukmani battled with anorexia, bulimia, depression and anxiety for a big part of her life. During the darkest moments when she was massively suicidal, that she found her light. It was then that she began to trust her being and the Energetic Realms fully opened up to her leading to a Kundalini Awakening. The Awakening led Rukmani through deep shadow work in order to remember her power and awaken.

Highly intuitive and a Divine Channel, Rukmani guides sisters through their Spiritual Awakening Process in order to remember their power and story. She does so by connecting the Personal Consciousness with the Conscious Field to activate the Remembrance of who we truly are. This activation is what guides the Awakening Process to be more gentle and smooth since it is the unconditional love of existence itself. Rukmani uses different kinds of Light Languages and Divine Sounds as well as Shamanic Practices, Plant Medicine, Visualization, Meditation and Pranayama techniques, to mention a few.

What does anxiety really look like, and how quick are we to judge someone without knowing what truly goes on inside the psyche?

In this episode, I had the divine honor to interview the Netflix star of Love is Blind, Season 2, Danielle Ruhl, where she uncovers more of the truth of her story and gives us a peek behind the curtain in her openness about living with mental health and her lifelong commitment to being an advocate and ally.

In watching her on Season 2, I felt immediately drawn to her energy and I didn’t know why until she revealed more of journey in struggling with trauma, anxiety, and feeling her empathic nature which sometimes can be a struggle for those that are more sensitive in the world.

She also reveals how she healed through her own dark night of the soul moments, and shared her passion of channeling her pain through music with her latest release, Addicted to Pain!

About Danielle:

Danielle Ruhl, best known for starring on Netflix’s hit show, Love is Blind (season 2) is finally putting pen to paper and adding music in the background. The Chicago-native has always had a passion for writing and journaling as well as a love for music. Danielle, who began journaling as a form of therapy at the age of 14, has always been outspoken and an advocate for mental health. She has been a spokesperson for Mental Health America (MHA), the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to mental health as well as other local charities and hopes to be a lifelong advocate.

On Instagram, she openly shares her struggles + urges people to be more empathetic and to become advocates for mental health awareness.

She wrote, "Nothing is more beautiful than women building up women and I can't wait to grow and learn from empathizing with each other. I hope for nothing but happiness for all."

Aside from helping to destigmatize mental illness, she loves to travel and spend time with her loved ones. Her feed is filled with images of Ruhl on vacation and surrounded by friends and family. She's arguably one of the most interesting and inspiring people starring in this season of "Love is Blind."

To invite the fresh energy of 2023, I begin this brand-new season and year with a solo confessional to reflect back on the lessons learned in 2022 to harness in this year peering through life from a different lens.

For so many of us, 2022 was an energetically exhausting, yet incredibly healing to finally move through the traumas stored within our bodies, or feeling this grand RELEASE of what we can no longer carry into our future.

The last week of 2022 was an elevated experience for me of reliving all my traumas immersed into a crash course of leaning into love, surrender, acceptance, and deep healing.

In this episode, I invite you on a journey with me to this window in time to create a sense of ALIVENESS within the sorrow, the pain, the hard lessons, the dark night of the Soul experiences you had, and create a sense of safety within your nervous system that it is not only OK to have these experiences, but there lies within such POWER in its presence + reliving the memories.

And while I am not one to rush at the turn of the Gregorian calendar created by man to make sense of our humanity, I do feel you can find such grace and a deeper sense of purpose by harnessing the lessons learned from a previous year, inviting you to take one step forward from this Shadow side to envision and paint a more aligned reality, where Shadow + Spirit crystallize.

**This year, the podcast blossoms into a WEEKLY format, so stay tuned every Friday for a brand new release + more epic guests coming ALIVE with me!

In this episode, Lara and I talk about the state of the world regressing + progressing and how to harness this energy as a changemaker, exploring the creative life with curiosity, seeing artistry as a skill, asking what you're worth, and how the world is slowly shifting to value creativity in entrepreneurship over strategy.

Do you find yourself craving solitude, or do you fear what will appear when you silence the noise within and around you?

In this incredibly powerful episode, I had the divine pleasure to speak with Britt Johnson, @venus_rising_ on Instagram. I have been following her for years, and her content moves your Soul in a way words cannot even express for what she evokes inside you. She truly embodies the Spirit of her name, a Venus rising that invites you to appreciate all sides of your Soul, both the light and the shadow that is deeply ingrained in Mother Earth.

In this conversation, we unearthed so many elements that are seldom spoke about that hold such potent medicine such as the concept of solitude, the difference between loneliness + being alone, and learning how to love alone time as a ritual + rite of passage.

Britt says that solitude "is where G-d speaks the loudest, where you crave G-d connection more than those who don't see you."

We also speak about ancestral trauma and how your Astrological Blueprint + Cosmic mapping can be a powerful tool to heal 7-year cycles + shift these patterns into wisdom.

About Britt:

Britt Johnson is an Evolutionary Astrologer and Women’s Integrative Wellness, Plant Medicine & Womb Healing Guide.

She assists individuals by holding space as they map their trauma and pain stories with tools such as astrology, somatic healing techniques, plant allies, and sharing my own lived experiences /inner wisdom.

If you’ve been feeling stuck and seeking the motivation to “wake up and show up”, this conversation will give you a kickstart to evaluating what needs to shift in your life + wellness practice.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marci at PodFest this past May when she attended my talk on podcasting and mental health and felt the resonance of being part logical, part hippie brain!

In this episode, Marci uncovers the Accountability Code she created to help you create a system to measure your sleep, self-care, water intake, and movement to have the courage to take your health in your hands, in a way that’s sustainable and fun!

But like the title, “nothing changes till your mind does”, so open your mind and your heart ❤️ today as you listen to new perspectives on your healing and wellness journey through Marci’s lens on life.

About Marci:

Marci Barker is a life and fitness coach from Ogden Utah but has been coaching online since 2015. She started out with personal training and nutrition programs to help others lose weight and stay accountable to the right plan for them. Soon she saw a disconnect in physique and mental health in her clients while also battling mental health issues with her dad.

Marci continued striving for and teaching her clients to connect the mind and body through following through and tracking their progress through her app.

In an effort to scale her business and share the message of fun and sustainable Fitness with the world, in 2021 she participated on a reality tv show called Ace in the Hole. Although it was a roller coaster Marci established herself as an official expert by publishing her book called The Accountability Code Wake Up and Show Up.

Marci is a mother to 4 daughters, has been married 15 years and loves having neighbors over for dinner.

In the episode and conversation with Jen Gaita Siciliano of the Not As Crazy As You Think Podcast, I open up about my work in consulting, personal path of mental health, and the state of the Western medical approach to mental illness, and how we can be more vigilant in our healing.

Through a trauma-informed approach, I explore the landscape behind all forms of trauma, including collective and ancestral, and how working through these issues are part of the the beginning steps to finding purpose through the pain. During the interview, I also share self-care strategies and self-love rituals, as well as offer astute advice for those who are trying to find a better path to healing, but find it difficult to get out of bed everyday.

I honor getting to the root cause of mental distress, rather than throwing away the individual through the treatment of getting labeled and medicated through traditional psychiatry, and share my own special purpose in helping others on this healing journey.

About Jessica (yes, your host!):

The whole concept of "leadership" and what it means to truly be a leader in your life isn't something that has to involve a specific title or role you play, but an inherent feeling within you to take back your power and know you have all the answers already inside of you.

If you've been waiting for permission or a sign to take your power back, know it starts with YOU!

Maya Roffler of the MaYapinion podcast brings a fresh perspective to female empowerment and leadership, love + life in this episode where Maya shares her passion (and opinion, that's her MO!) for women in leadership after being on a reality TV show, Married at First Sight: Second Chances, and realizing her true mission and message was to be a voice for women to be independent and "become the leader of her life".

Who were you as as a child, and how does this energy transmute itself into the way you are in world today as an adult? No matter your age! Over 90% of our trauma was created up till the age of 7.

Come rewild this inner child inside of you in this powerful special 50th episode with Cendie Stanford of the grassroots organization, ACEs Matter on healing childhood trauma, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). ACEs are linked to challenges in adolescence and adulthood, and they can potentially negatively impact education, job opportunities, and earning potential.

I was honored to have connected with Cendie at my mental health talk at Podfest, and have felt our divine connection ever since in our collective mission to heal the mental health crises that impacts our society at a global and growing scale.

“I believe that Adverse Childhood Experiences are generational curses. I also believe that experiences from our childhood have the power to shape how we treat the adult version of ourselves and others. I firmly believe this vision was placed on my heart by our Creator and it is my life’s mission to spread awareness to others.” ~ Cendie Stanford

And being the 50th episode today, I wanted to share this:

Angel number 50 is a sign from the divine realm about independence, self-determination, and taking charge of our own lives. It appears
to those who may not be making their own decisions in life and those who may need to make some positive changes in order to
manifest their ideal future.
About Cendie:

Cendie Stanford has lived experiences with childhood adversities, most of which were experienced in zip code 79403. Unaware that her childhood adversities played a role in how she responded to stressors in her career as an educator, relationships, and even parenting, she sought out the why.

In 2020, Cendie Stanford founded ACEs Matter because she believed three things:

1) Many generational ACEs are passed down because of a lack of awareness, but the cards we are dealt are not our final destination

2) Every person in the world deserves to learn about ACEs

3) Everyone has to experience childhood to get to adulthood

Communities deserve to learn about ACEs and the associated risk and the mission of ACEs Matter is to start the conversation wherever it does not exist. The vision for ACEs Matter is to significantly reduce the number of ACEs that are passed down through generations and increase the number of positive childhood experiences within generations.

Since 2021, Cendie has made several public appearances discussing the impacts of ACEs as a lived experience survivor in underserved and professional communities. Communities are learning that ACEs impact us as a humanity and no one should look the other way.

At the age of 20 years old, Sam Mitchell is a true Pioneer fighting to end the stigmatism around mental health, and more specifically, from the perspective of Autism Awareness.

I had the honor of meeting Sam in person at Podfest Expo 2022 when he attended my talk on podcasting in the mental health space to stop the stigma. Sam has such a carefree and light spirit despite all his challenges in his youth, and his story to rise above his circumstances is a true light and blessing in today's world.

His mission is to spread the mission + mantra "don't let your differences define you" and this episode brings much light and clarity to help you capture the spirit of this message to rise above whatever you're going through right now.

Sam now wants to change the perspective of autism, destigmatizing the negativity that often surrounds this type of brain wiring. Sam is using his platform to first and foremost, help those on the spectrum or anyone that feels as though they do not belong because they simply feel "different."

About Sam:

Sam has Autism and runs his own podcast called, Autism Rocks and Rolls.Sam Mitchell, himself, has autism. He was diagnosed at the age of 4, and today at 20 years old, is a well-known podcaster, entrepreneur, writer, podcast coach, public speaker, TEDX Speaker, and Executive Director of Autism Rocks and Rolls NonProfit 501c3. Sam also has a published TED Talk called Souled Structure.

Sam just hosted his first GALA in Bloomington, Indiana, called “Success for All and How We Get There,” with his keynote speaker being Dr. Temple Grandin. Sam has also spoken at The Griffin Promise Conference in OK, the ASET conference in Ontario, Canada and the Podfest conference in Orlando, FL. He is scheduled to speak in Texas, Maryland, and Indiana in the fall.

Sam is doing what he preaches: Those on the spectrum can be successful, if given the correct opportunities and chances. Sam runs his own podcast called, Autism Rocks and Rolls. It has grown over the last three years and has become very, very successful.

Podcasting was an outlet for Sam. It actually saved his life. All self-taught, Sam wants to share what worked for him while he built his podcast and nonprofit and to spread the message that the definition of success is in the eye of the beholder.

Sam has gained several sponsors and this has boosted his mission and business exponentially. He is nearing 10K downloads.

He has had some big names on his show: Armani Williams, first NASCAR driver open about having autism, and American Idol Rocker James Durbin who has autism and Tourette’s. His biggest guest of all was Dr. Temple Grandin, professor in Animal Science at Colorado State University and Autism activist. He recently had the actress Sara Tomko on his show, well-known for her roles in Sneaky Pete and Resident Alien. He also got to meet his idol, WWE Hall of Famer, Mick Foley, and Foley was on Sam’s show.

Sam has a mission: To take the stigma off of autism and show people that he is not broken, therefore, embracing autism. Sam is not ashamed and wants to be the voice of those with autism or other disabilities. His podcast helped him be successful and is helping him change the world just a little bit at a time.

Just know that whatever you are going through in life right now, you don’t have to do this anymore. You have a life worth living. In this episode, Jason Carter explains why and how he moved through his struggles with anxiety, depression, and alcoholism to beginning his path to not only recovery, but dedicating his life to helping others who feel limited by life.

To learn how to choose a different path, and the first steps towards “breaking the cycle” outside of your circumstances. To confront your demons knowing that the answers you seek lie in the emotions you feel + moving through them with grace, humanity, and heart.

To know that you don’t have to do THIS anymore, whatever THIS is - a soul sucking career, a partner or spouse that is not for you, a relationship that isn’t serving your Soul, a business that does not align with your heart, or even your own negative thoughts that consume you and keep you stuck in spirals.

YOU are in control, and today, our greatest desire in this episode is to give you that spark of change to drive HOPE again.

To live a life worth living!

“The man who realizes his limits has no limits.” - Jason Carter

About Jason:

Jason Carter is a husband, father and entrepreneur who struggled for decades with depression and alcoholism before beginning the journey to recovery. In his new memoir, To Hell I Ride: When a Life Examined Became Worth Living (Lioncrest Publishing, Jan. 2022), he takes an unflinching look into the darkest corners of his past and how he found clarity—and ultimately redemption—on a reflective road trip from Texas to Telluride.

Years ago, most people assumed Jason lived a normal, happy life. (And certainly, on the surface, this was true.) He had a remarkable wife, three great kids and a spacious house near the country club. So, why was he engaging in suicidal ideation on his morning run? What no one realized was that, for 30 years, he had also lived with a combination of excessive drinking, deep-rooted insecurity and depression that was taking a significant toll.

That is, until one fateful therapy session. After discussing his thoughts of suicide with his psychiatrist, Jason was forced to address his drinking head on and reevaluate the effect it was having on his mental health—and the trajectory of his life. That’s when he piled his family into their Suburban for a 17-hour road trip to Colorado, simultaneously taking a parallel journey down memory lane to confront the memories that had influenced his descent into despair. This time, he would choose to take a different path.

In To Hell I Ride, Jason recounts how the insidious presence of alcohol crept into every fabric of his life, while also confronting personal demons that still haunt him today. Determined and darkly comedic, he bares it all with brutal honesty to dispel the taboo of speaking about alcoholism and empower others to know they are not alone in their struggle.

Jason is the founder and president of Pilot/Runner Communications, specializing in creating meaningful communication strategies and connective content for VC, startups and early-stage companies. He holds a B.A. in English from Texas Christian University and attended a graduate screenwriting program at UCLA. Jason currently lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife and three kids.

Mental health is at the core of all our suffering. The stigma stops with YOU.

It is such a taboo topic in our society that is attached to such shame and suppression, which exacerbates the issue.

In my talk at @podfestexpo last Friday, I shared how 1 in 5 people suffer from mental illness globally.

Among our youth, ages 18-25 this number increases to 1 in 3.

Yes, 1 in 3 people ages 18-25 suffer.

Most in silence.

It is not socially acceptable to admit our mental struggles, yet we continue to ignore the very root cause of human suffering in all forms.

When will we wake up?

When will we see that any ideology rooted in fear and manipulation of the mind to suppress the human Spirit is the very thing that is keeping us stuck?

The stigma stops with ME.

The stigma stops with YOU.

It’s our time to stop the stigma as a collective to finally admit we are all a destined part of the healing experience needed to elevate ourselves out of the chaos that is not our own to hold.

The month of May in mental health awareness is over, but my message remains strong and amplified.

This episode unlocks more portals of conscious and subconscious energies to help us collectively STOP THE STIGMA.

As Holistic Hilda teaches, everything in life is a map or a mirror. Something to guide you, or show you the place where healing happens.

In this episode, Hilda will reveal the ancient health hacks to heal yourself, and take your POWER back to have health autonomy and freedom.

The post-pandemic reality has been so challenging for many as we navigate a time when so much weight is placed on trusting the experts instead of trusting our own body + knowing what YOU need to nurture your needs.

Most importantly, trusting that the conditions you are experiencing are a direct reflection of your brain + your body telling YOU what it needs to heal itself.

Hilda speaks to the effects of technological stress + Spirit's perspective on how long exposure may "steal the essence of our Soul", how to align yourself with the Circadian rhythms, and cultivate a practice of stillness so you can truly HEAR yourself speak by tuning out the noise of conflicting information that may not be best for you.

How can you listen if you're constantly consuming? The Aboriginal tradition calls this cultivating "dadirri" or deep listening.

Hilda challenges us to think, "would you buy your life at the store"?

About Hilda:

Hilda Labrada is the host and producer of the popular WiseTraditions podcast. She is a certified health coach and an ancestral health advocate. She is known as Holistic Hilda and has traveled the world exploring traditional practices for optimal well-being. Hilda shares the best of experts, experiences, and epic adventures on the podcast, her Holistic Hilda YouTube channel, and on ancestral health tours and retreats that she leads. If so, this episode will be a breath of fresh air to know you are not alone, and will give you the courage to explore your own spiritual path in a way that feels aligned and resonant to your Soul - to come out of your own spiritual closet.

Carla has a way with words that will spark infinite possibilities with her Psychic abilities to channel and guide energy with the help of her Blue Team, call them archangels, ascended masters, aliens...it depends on your belief system, but at the end of the day, she calls this "connecting with your Divine energy", your Higher self that is longing to be seen, held, and freed in a society that shames spirit or the concept of faith for being misunderstood.

Carla even gives us a personal reading + channeling from her guides on the episode of DEEP LOVE, heart connection, and past lives, the kind of alignment that "dreams are made of", where she encourages you to step into the LIFE that is whispered to you in thoughts, dreams, and seemingly random encounters!

Yet, nothing in life is random. This episode will show you why....

If you’ve always been intrigued by the creative world, but never felt you were an “artist” or a Creative, then this episode will inspire you to see artistry in a new “up-cycled” light as a space for art therapy + healing.

I have always been around Creatives, but never felt I had the talent to create outside of my forte for writing. But Art truly comes in many forms, as it is simply an expression of our waking experience, where you can express how life comes ALIVE in physical form, as is the case for today’s guest, Alyssa Bird!

I was honored to be introduced to Alyssa about a year ago through a previous guest on the pod, and dear friend, Kimberly Kling, Herbalist + Owner of Joyful Roots (Episode 18), and I’m honored to share her wisdom behind the Artistry with her “Pictopowers” combined! (You’ll learn more about this inside joke on the episode!)

“Start with the scribble.” - Alyssa Bird

About Alyssa:

Alyssa Bird spent 3 years in the Los Angeles fashion industry and saw a desperate need to reduce the waste from clothing production. Her innovation, mission for upcycling, and love for learning reached a turning point when she developed a new mixed-media art concept by merging the rescued textiles with laser cut wood. Her 1st business, Regenerous Designs, unique upcycled fashion accessories, eventually lead into her new business, Picto Kits, which is an elevated hands-on experience of art and education that requires no previous training and delivers a playful adventure inspiring individuals of all ages.

Do you often feel misunderstood or alone as an empath? As a highly sensitive Soul, I often shunned that side of me in hopes of being heard, understood, and SEEN as I am, yet the world we live in doesn't truly understand what it means to be an empath.

And if you're wondering if you are an empath yourself, ask yourself if you FEEL the energy around you deeply, such as other's emotions, posts on social media, or crying during an intense scene on your fave Netflix show.

An empath FEELS all, often times without even logically knowing why, but a deeper sense of knowing that something connects, or feels "off".

Layer all of this with being an entrepreneur or creative, and you are porous to all the emotions + energies around you to the point of constant overwhelm, exhaustion + burnout!

So how do you harness the power of being an empath in business, and really at a deeper level, life?

In this episode, I welcome one of my fave podcasters and dear Soul, Robin Scott of The Empath Podcast to enlighten us with her wisdom on finding that "beauty in the balance" of honoring the Empath within you to find the FREEDOM you have been longing for, without sacrificing success!

About Robin:

Robin Scott is the host of The Empath Podcast and creator of the Empaths in Business program, an online course + coaching program teaching empaths how to create a clear plan for their business so that they can do the work they love.

Do you ever look in the mirror, and wonder who you are and how you got here? Being alive runs so much deeper than the physical existence of your everyday. If you find repeating patterns or thoughts in your mind, do you often wonder why they keep appearing? If so, Akashic Alchemy will light the way today. The Akashic records are your Book of Life, and a complication of the history of our Souls.

In this episode, Morgan will light the way for you to begin the journey inward to answer these 2 powerful questions:

What stories are laced within you, and what chapters are ready to be stripped away?

Your soul contracts, karmic ties, and free will are entangled in the subconscious programming that you are not even aware of that may be running your life.

Today, give yourself permission to be free, as Morgan so beautifully says is the meaning of “magic” and Akashic Alchemy.

"STOP WAITING FOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR LIFE AND BE THE MAGIC.” - Morgan

About Morgan:

Hi my name is Morgan. I am a soul coach and akashic record practitioner. I work with the akashic records and other subconscious tools to help others break free from old cycles and toxic patterning. We have the gift as humans to create what we desire and I am here to being that work to others.

At my core I have always longed to help others, to be a guide of lost souls, and to allow others to find their own worth and importance in this universe. I have answered the call of my soul to devote my life to serving humanity and seeding light consciousness on Earth. I am so delighted you have found your way here, I look forward to holding space for you, working with you, and helping you journey back to your light.

How do you bounce back when life feels like too much? When you struggle to see your way through, and wondering when something is going to shift?

We have all collectively been through a lot these last two years, and personally these last few months have been exceptionally challenging for me both physically and emotionally, so if that’s you right now, I created this solo episode to be your beacon of HOPE today.

In this episode, I share my own experience and what lessons I’ve learned in having to shut down my everyday for almost a month, just not having the energy or capacity to work and suffering a loss in the family.

Bounce back with me today, and know that the Universe never gives you something you can’t handle.

Winter isn’t forever. Spring always comes again.

Words and story are medicine. What I feel the world needs most right now is more of Sarah Robinson’s @sentiayoga Yin Magic, this way of being that invites serendipity and random encounters, than strategies and algorithms that are simply methods of control of what is naturally intended for us as souls having a human experience. The types of experiences you have over a cup of tea, feeling your “fairybrain” come to life!

How are we truly being human if we aren’t experiencing life as if is without the influence of “forcing agendas” and algorithms that control who can even experience our wisdom + teachings?

The Siddha (Yogic tradition) shares that the joy of the practice itself is the greatest reward. But how often do we truly embody and live that way? How do we surrender logic, the Yang, for the being, the feminine Yin energy?

In this episode, I connect with one of my favorite authors of the book Yin Magic by @sentiayoga, which has taught me to undo so many of society’s ingrained beliefs that have tainted my true existence.

This being one of them. Don’t show off, don’t talk others down, and don’t be so focused on the followers that you lose the essence of the joy and intention of your doing.

Don’t seek followers to tell you how great you are - just do the work”…speaks volumes. Sarah has such a way with words that really speaks to my heart in her writings and meditations on Insight Timer.

If any of this resonates with you, please leave me a 🌞 below not for anything other than to unite in solidarity and connection without letting the “forces that be” control our narrative.

Every connection with Sarah may find yourself journeying through myth, magic, legend, and your own inner world - as well as meeting a few goddesses along the way!

About Sarah:

Sarah Robinson is a Yoga teacher and Author based in in Bath, UK. Specializing in guided visualization meditation that she likes to call 'Story Journey'. She draws on her 30 years of yoga experience woven together with her writing expertise, love of mythology, and Celtic, Norse, and Saxon heritage. Her background is in science; she holds an MSc Psychology & Neuroscience and has studied at Bath, Exeter and Harvard University. Feeling the rush to be productive as soon as the New Year hit? If you’re a woman who struggles with the concept of “doing less”, this episode will really resonate! When I came back to Florida in 2019, I found her book “Do Less” and joined her Origin membership in hopes of understanding how to work in a way that didn’t feel “hard”, and then shortly after Kate moved to Miami in 2021, I met her in person at the DAYBREAKER yoga event at a time when I was trying to find this again amidst the pandemic stress + my first engagement back IN the world. Totally random, or was this sweet serendipity, and an act of the Divine?

Her book “Do Less” is truly eye opening to think of the concept of actually being more productive while working less. Her ingenious approach of saying YES to Yin aligns the masculine energies of doing with the feminine cycle (known as Egg Wisdom!) and tracking your energies with the Moon. With her motto of “body first, business second”, this episode will enlighten you to prioritize your body, Nature, and the Cosmos to learn how doing less is always more.

As Kate says, “The world doesn’t need you busy, the world needs you here. And that’s enough.”

It’s OK not to be okay - yet the world has increasingly become more and more addicted to the quick fix, or the magic pill that will dissipate our problems with one dose, or so they make you think. “Putting profits over people”, the pharmaceutical industry has capitalized on mental health for decades.

In today’s episode you will hear from Angela Peacock, whose story has been featured in the incredible documentary Medicating Normal, which I believe EVERYONE should watch as a wake-up call to empower and educate ourselves on healing holistically versus being dependent on a system that is capitalizing on being broken.

In this conversation, Angela shares with us her own personal experience serving in the military, and seeking solace through the VA system from a non-combat, life-threatening illness. Yet as Anna Lembke, MD, Associate Professor, Stanford University Medical Center, states, “the pharmaceutical industry] wants to disease-ify every single experience because they want to sell their pills to treat it”, where you will hear first-hand Angie’s experience in her story of overmedication versus finding natural ways to express her emotions not to “numb the pain”.

Let this story be the light for all who are suffering from mental health to hear how Angie has become a mental health advocate who is passionate about improving the health care system, for she believes this starts not with fighting Pharma (the system), but with empowering ourselves to KNOW what we need to heal ourselves to release this dependency on a system that is NOT serving us.

"It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society." -J Krishnamurti

About Angie:

Angela Peacock, MSW served in the U.S. Army for seven years as a communications specialist. She deployed to Iraq in 2003 and was medically evacuated due to a non-combat, life-threatening illness. After medical retirement and a long period of recovery, she earned her bachelor’s in science in psychology and master’s in social work from Washington University in St. Louis. She was the first veteran since World War II to be inducted into WashU’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. She is a leader in the St. Louis Student Veterans of America community building and growing three new chapters and organizing a consortium of chapters across the region.

Some of Angela’s past roles include Veterans of Foreign Wars Legislative Fellow, Wounded Warrior Project Courage Award recipient, member of the WWP National Campaign Team, and finalist for Student Veteran of the Year with Student Veterans of America.

Her story of overmedication after trauma appears in the new film Medicating Normal (2020). Her current work is to plan and host community screenings of Medicating Normal across the world where members of the audience are invited to critically think about our modern mental health industry, informed consent, and psychiatric drug use and withdrawal. She is a mental health advocate, a writer, and YouTube creator who travels in her camper van across the United States with her service dog Raider, to improve the mental health care system for veterans and civilians alike. In what originally started as a bonus session to my talk at PodFest 2021 on Podcasting to Heal Anxiety + Depression, this conversation with a Panel of podcasters crystallized into a deep + meaningful conversation that is not touched on enough.

In fact, speaking about mental health is taboo not only in the United States, but far reaching globally to Tanzania and Malaysia, where Paula and Peter in this discussion share is strictly silenced in their country to the present day.

This episode was originally a conversation that wasn't intended to become a podcast episode, but I felt so deeply compelled to share this message with you on the podcast, and inspired the guests to share on their shows as well, as this is the FIRST step we can take to bring light + awareness to those who feel they cannot speak openly about their struggles with mental health.

In a recent survey by Sermo.com of 3,334 physicians across 24 countries in January of 2021, 86% agreed that depression + mental health is the BIGGEST non COVID-19 public health issue in the coming year, which has clearly been the case with the continued rise in mental health and our global crises of addiction due to the the panic and constant fear-based methods of control in our environment.

I hope you enjoy hearing this behind-the-scenes conversation from a panel of podcasters all dedicating their podcasts to helping heal the world, one episode and conversation at a time.

Health is not one size fits all, as much as the world of conventional medicine would like us to believe! And even more confusing is the fact that health studies are changing now by the day, so what can we believe is real? What is the BEST for our bodies, and our overall quality of health + life?

In this episode, I speak with Jordan Trinagel about the future of functional medicine, and how this differs from conventional medicine by revolutionizing + personalizing the experience by giving you clarity for what YOU need. By asking the right questions + continuing to ask the right questions (Hello, Curious George!), functional medicine helps you get to the ROOT cause of your symptoms and not diagnose via the “pop a pill” quick fix system that keeps us sick + suffering as a collective in a broken healthcare system.

About Jordan:

Jordan Trinagel grew up in Rockland County NY and received her Bachelor’s/ Masters of Science degree from Towson University. She has been a healthcare practitioner working in rehabs and hospitals since 2015. She is a registered/licensed Occupational Therapist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist in the state of NY. Her professional career in healthcare and personal health journey led her to continuing research and self-education. She struggled with acne, IBS, anxiety/ depression, psoriasis, fatigue, ADHD; and after seeing many specialists, trialing medications and going through various therapy she learned about alternative, functional healthcare methods for herself and her patients.

She is now the founder of Health Reconditioned; an online health coaching and consulting business where her focus is on educating people about functional medicine and using simple at home lab tests to get the root cause of your symptoms to finally optimize your health! THE REAL QUESTION ISN’T HOW CAN WE TREAT YOUR SYMPTOMS; IT'S WHY ARE YOU HAVING THESE SYMPTOMS IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Today's episode couldn't have been more divine timing with Women's Equality Day this week on August 26th, and Lauren's birthday which was on August 23rd (Happy Birthday Lauren!) What a better way to celebrate than by soaking in her energy + POWERFUL message in fueling femme dreams and how she has been able to bring BIG ideas to life (Tits first, you'll hear the story behind this!)

Come ALIVE + climb the Lauren Spalding tree with me, rooted in LOVE above all else, which takes many forms such as the movement of music + anything creative that Universally speaks to your Soul. In her words, “Be present in the moment, and try to string together as many moments as you can that feel good, and do good.

Lauren is a beacon of hope to provide womxn and non binary folx the opportunity to become DJ’s, producers, and engineers in the music world through the educational non-profit Femme House, for which she co-founded with LP Giobbi. In 2021, still only 2.5% of non-males are producers + engineers.

More on Lauren:

Lauren A. Spalding graduated from high school on a Thursday afternoon, and started working as a publicity intern at Capitol Records the next morning (where the Beatles, Sinatra, and Nat King Cole recorded!) That was over fifteen years ago, and she hasn’t worked a “real” job since.

As an artist management consultant for her own shop, The Spalding Company, she's shepherded fruitful partnerships to help bring her clients' big ideas to life. As a managing member of Sofi Tukker’s artist oasis, Animal Talk Collective, she’s been a songwriter, party planner, publishing executive, and webmaster, sometimes all in the same day. As co-founder of educational non-profit FEMME HOUSE, she chips away at the equity gap inherent to the technical roles of the music industry, providing womxn and non binary folx opportunities to learn how to be producers and engineers. And as her artist alter ego, Hermixalot, she lives out her pre-teen Missy Elliot dreams, writing and performing songs to move the people.

Lauren A. Spalding, The Spalding Company

Music Curator, W San Francisco

Co-Founder + Executive Director, FEMME HOUSE

Manager, Animal Talk Collective

She is the Music Mentorship with Paty Cantú and Alicia Keys

I'm flying solo this episode to share with you what's on my heart + mind about how to navigate these wildly uncertain times we are living in! What truly makes you come ALIVE isn't always sunshine + roses, it's the shadow sides of our soul that long to be seen, heard, and revived...that's what truly living a vibrant life means.

Embracing it all, and not expecting perfection. Forgiving yourself when it all doesn't get done, or life doesn't look as you intended. The Universe has a grander plan at play.

But in this episode, I share with you 5 ways to give yourself the green light to PAUSE. To take a breath. To know that the "practice is the path"...and you are always where you need to be in any moment.

I share with you ways to be more like water, or as Bruce Lee says, "Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water."Click here to watch what I shared about Emoto's study of the energy of water, and being you are 70% water...well, you get where I'm going! Also, I have a special invitation for you listeners to join my Live Vibrant sisterhood, click here to take a peek and see if it speaks to your soul. Curious about the healing power of plants + botanicals? In this episode, I am honored to share a dear friend of mine and botanical beauty with you, Kimberly Kling. Kimberly and I connected years ago at a retreat out in the Redwoods of California, and our connection has only continued to blossom in her garden of "Joyful Roots"!

Kimberly Kling is the creatrix behind Joyful Roots, a botanical wellness brand located in Southern Arizona. Her greatest passion is to help women cultivate their inner joy by amplifying their self-care rituals and growing deeper roots in our Mother Earth. Kimberly is committed to offering small batch, 100% natural body-care and soul-care products that nourish our bodies, respect the Earth, and empower us into greater well-being.

In reciprocity to Mama Earth, every purchase over $10 from Joyful Roots webshop plants a tree!

Kimberly has been working with plants since as early as she can remember – making “magical plant stew” in her childhood backyard and becoming friends with the Rushes and Paper Birch in the Michigan forests. Looking back, she can see that her decision to get a Master’s in Landscape Architecture, was an attempt to reconcile her love for art, plants, and her background in civil engineering.

After moving to rural Arizona, giving birth to and mothering her son, and experiencing a health crisis, she was divinely guided to herbalism and rekindled a deep and enthralling passion for plants. Through the plants, she became empowered with her own health and wellness and is called to share this empowerment with others.

In her words, “The plants pulled me in to their magic and I am forever theirs…”

One connection, and one word can truly change your life. This episode is a manifestation of life's divine encounters, and how two souls can align energies with completely different life stories which continue to cross, as my guest today, Louise Valentine, and I have experienced.

This reminds me of the beautiful Steve Jobs quote, "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."

I trust that our dots have connected, and excited to unravel the synergy of Louise Valentine and I to dedicating our lives to the spirit of a vibrant life.

If you've been feeling the fire within, perhaps it's time to practice living life out loud with us today. Let this conversation be a little loving nudge!

Who is Louise Valentine?
Louise Valentine is an award-winning wellness expert, competitive athlete, and fierce military spouse. Regardless of where the Army sends her, Louise's career is dedicated to empowering others to live a vibrant, healthy life. She has worked with professional athletes, researchers, and senior leaders throughout the U.S. and currently holds a healthcare leadership position with Vheda Health.

Also working to reverse her own health diagnoses, Louise refuses to let others waste time or energy trying to figure it all out! She created the TeamValentineProject.com wellness platform with a mission to help others find simple and realistic ways to make wellness work. Most recently, she published The Art of Breaking Through: Five Simple Steps to Take on Any Challenge & Tackle Self-Doubt. Happiness and joy are often considered one and the same, but exist as two very different states of being. Happiness is a result of achievement from outside forces while joy is an inner practice. Joy can be experienced even in challenging moments, when one practices and knows how to cultivate it daily.

Come take a "joy” ride with me and Victorien in this episode to uncover how to experience joy on the daily, and how discipline is simply self love.

As Victorien says so beautifully, "It is loving ourselves everyday. It is not a 21-day practice, it's about all of your life."

In our conversation, learn more from Victorien about how music became a moving meditation from world-class DJ to flute meditations, and his energies toward social + environmental actions all with a mission to amplify collective JOY.

*Make sure you stay tuned till the end of the episode to join us to experience Victorien’s flute meditation LIVE on the show!

Meet Victorien:

Born and raised in northern France, I grew up with music at the center of my life. Outside of school, I spent my days mixing music, making music and playing in nature. At age 19, with a dear friend, we decided to tag team and create the project FDVM which lead us on epic 12 years adventures around the world. After releasing some successful songs, gathering millions of plays and playing shows worldwide, I recently felt called to a transition, to follow my heart, and keep on amplifying joy in new ways. While I still DJ, as I discovered mindfulness, meditation and the flutes, I now stepped onto new offerings with only one desire at heart, invite everyone to walk the path joy.

I also focus my energy towards social and environmental actions, with the co-creation of LitterRally and Bali Live, in the humble effort to invite ecological empathy and support those in needs.

My guest, Radha Agrawal, is a community force. She is the co-Founder, CEO and Chief Community Architect of Daybreaker, the early morning dance and wellness movement in 28 cities and five continents with a community of almost half a million people around the globe. Her raison d'être is collective joy.

But the experience of even having this conversation with her has been pure serendipity leading all the way back to the 2020 WW Vision Tour with Oprah, never even knowing that months later when the pandemic struck our reality, Radha’s ingenious community of DAYBREAKER would be my healing elixir every Saturday morning with virtual dance party themes that evoke a sense of curiosity + childlike joy. And at a more intimate level, evoke deep connection to a community of like souls. A community where everyone feels they belong.

Every week was an escape to a reality of pure JOY.

She and her team recently launched a science backed platform DOSE by Daybreaker, a first of its kind membership and community to practice JOY with the goal of making “practicing joy” as ubiquitous as practicing yoga and meditation.

She is a successful entrepreneur (Co-Founder THINX), author, speaker, DJ, inventor, and investor in mostly female owned businesses.

Her best selling book BELONG answers the questions, “how the heck do I find my people” and “How do I create large and meaningful communities in the real world?”. She was named by MTV as “one of the 8 women who will change the world.”

Radha lives between Brooklyn, New York and her farm in Rhinebeck along with her love Eli, her daughter Soleï and their dog Nanü. She is currently teaching joy practices on DOSE every week, developing a Functional Happiness Teacher training program and writing her next book, “The Joy Ride”.

It's the little things in life that make a house a home. This episode is your open invitation to gather and feel the goodness of home, not just as a physical space but an emotional connection to your environment where the sense of "home" comes alive.

In this episode, I had the honor to connect around The Good Table with Jenny + Dave Marrs of HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous, where I have come to know and love their work. But what's so beautiful about the Marrs family is their devout commitment to family, community, faith, authenticity, and giving back both in their hometown of Bentonville + with children in Zimbabwe.

Come gather around the Good Table with us, and learn how Jenny + Dave balance their marriage of 16 years and raising 5 children with being stars of Fixer to Fabulous on HGTV, running the Berry Farm, Marrs Developing company while never losing sight of the important things in life.

"Life should be framed with sweet, content moments of lingering at the table." - The Good Table

About Jenny + Dave Marrs:

Jenny + Dave Marrs live in a rescued and restored farmhouse where they have cobbled together a farm life full to the brim with five young kiddos, mud puddles galore and too-many-to-count farm animals.

Jenny is a wife and mama who loves all things creative. She is a designer, writer and passionate advocate for community transformation, family preservation and orphan care around the globe.

Dave works as a builder, while Jenny supports the design side of their business, Goodtable. Most recently, they work with HGTV to develop Fixer to Fabulous, a home renovation show focused on restoring historic homes in our beautiful Northwest Arkansas area.

Their primary focus after family is on building community in our own backyard and around the world. Their passion for furthering locally-active, globally-focused causes led to the founding of The Berry Farm.
At its simplest, the u-pick farm and its event barn allows local families to enjoy the experience of filling their own buckets with fresh, local berries and holding events in the gorgeous newly-renovated event venue. But the real mission of The Berry Farm is a domino effect rippling from Northwest Arkansas to Zimbabwe, where profits support vocational training, farming skills and food for orphaned children.

In this episode, I had the devout honor and privilege to soak in the knowledge of one of the most profound and consciously awake humans in our lifetime, Rainier Wylde. The craziest part about our divine encounter is that I heard him only weeks ago on LeAnn Rimes podcast, Wholly Human, and now, you have the honor of hearing him on our show.

The entire experience has been surreal, and I hope you enjoy this intimate conversation with Rainier on ruthless authenticity, accepting our masculine + feminine archetypes as a way to fully awaken + allow the ark to transpire, and translating "toxicity" with a refreshing and deeply profound perspective.

About Rainier:
An experienced teacher, writer, and speaker. Rainier has embraced life for all that it is. He has celebrated its highs and learned from its lows. He has managed a Fortune 500 company and built businesses, he has also elegantly blown them up, burned them down, and started over from scratch. Through the various positions he has held, he has discovered that life must be claimed to hold any worth. His work is to inspire others to live, fully and deeply, in the here and now.

I am honored today to share with you my kindred spirit, Milan Bush. I connected with her over 5 years ago, and while we haven't connected on a regular basis, every time I have touched her presence, she radiates PURE GOLD.

Milan Bush is the Founder + Visionary of Honoring Black Stories.

Honoring Black Stories was started in 2020 when Entrepreneur Milan Bush saw the need to highlight the empowering and positive stories in Midway’s Black community. Honoring Black Stories is currently the only Black owned business in Midway.

Honoring Black Stories was inspired by the lack of common knowledge regarding the contributions made to the commonwealth by Black Americans in Midway, KY. Bridging the gap of information by providing educational tours and contents, as well as giving back to the community in real-time ensures preservation for the future.

Honoring Black Stories is a place to learn and be heard. We wanted a way to share those mostly forgotten but so important narratives.

Honoring Black stories is a place where we bring black experience to life. By sharing accounts, we breathe life not into histories but into people and community.

In this episode, Milan and I discuss:

  1. What inspired her journey to create Honoring Black Stories?
  2. How has this evolved over time, what fuels your vision that brought this beautiful cause to life?
  3. What does it mean to share your gifts and amplify black voices?
  4. What impact has Honoring Black Voices had in your local community, and where do you see this mission blossoming into a Global force in elevating black stories?

Milan's Book Recommendation:

  1. Freedom Bound: Law, Labor, and Civic Identity in Colonizing English America
  2. The Scholar: A Novel
  3. The Bible + how we can relate this our modern day world.

In the world of social media, being an "influencer" seems like all the rage. Acceptance and love comes in the form of likes, followers, and engagement stats. Something I've learned in my 6+ years of running an online biz is that success can come from influence, but influence alone will not increase income, and above all, it should be about true fulfillment and LOVE for the work you do.

In this episode, uncover my key secrets to success organically through "influence" from a heart space, and how to take these lofty concepts and come ALIVE with tangible tools + ideas to explore.

We dive deep into how to show up on social consistently with courage, cultivating self-acceptance by loving yourself even when your life or biz is NOT ideal, and radiating pure LOVE in your leadership.

If you lived from a place of love, what would that look like? If you lead from a place of love, what would be different than it is today?

Or as an entrepreneur, how can you continue to take risks, emotionally + financially when you have to support your family?

With 2020 behind us, I wanted to kick off 2021 on a HIGH note with my first special guest on the show, my husband, Ryan Silverman, who will join me in sharing our story of how I stepped away from 6-figures in Silicon Valley with NOTHING but faith, and enough money to live on for a few months.

What kept us going, despite the odds, financially, and from the fears projected from our family + friends?

How did Ryan's emotional support help fuel the first year of my business to set the stage for future success?

And how can you keep the FAITH when you don't see beyond the boundaries life continues to throw your way as an online business owner?

Ryan and I uncover our secrets through story, and 3 tangible tips to inspire you to take action today in shifting your money story to start or FUEL your biz growth in 2021 and beyond!

Learn how Ryan was inspired to "Arrigato your Money" which comes from Ken Honda's theory on Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace with Your Money.

Ryan even has a surprise for you by sharing his recording of the Mode Ani Morning Song for you to download here!

Without the foundation of what we share on today's show, this podcast would never have been possible.

In the most engaged post in my FB community of 2020, I asked, “Let’s start a thread of good things that happened to you in 2020?”

In a year that has brought us more panic at times than any sense of joy, I was taken back by the LOVE that poured through this post. This love brought to light the first unspoken miracle of 2020, that of perspective.

Each day, YOU get to choose your perspective, the lens with which you see the world, your life, and how you relate to the chaos around you.

This episode unlocks a fresh perspective to close out 2020 to find the “catalyst” from these challenges…to ask yourself 3 powerful questions that will not only help you look back, but move forward with a guided sense of HOPE for 2021.

  1. How have you felt uprooted this year?
  2. What was this taught you about yourself?
  3. Knowing this, what will you bring into 2021?

Tune in to learn more about the concept of Kensho, which in Japanese and Zen traditions translates to Ken, which means “seeing, and sho, which is “Nature” which is cultivated from a place of suffering, challenges, and pain that pushes you to find the passion within your pain. It is our Soul’s way of calling on you to grow.

As I always say, your pain is your passion. It’s time to find out why.

Let your passions come ALIVE as we reflect back on 2020 together, and bring light to a dawn rising in 2021!

Do you trust yourself? Are you guided by your own inner voice, or constantly stuck in the spiral of social media, and outside influences to feel like yourself?

This episode opens the door to this inner conversation. To claim yourself as the "expert", and stop seeking validation by consuming MORE information which often leaves you with more questions than answers.

Especially in the chaos we are all experiencing as a collective, it's no wonder you feel SUCKED IN! #noshame

What if you took that time you spend soaking hours on social media, and carved out more time for stillness, to hear the whispers within your Soul. To do more of what YOU want, and less of what you feel obligated to do.

If a thought is constantly speaking to you, that is a SIGN. Are you listening?

What is your true self trying to say? How could you give your inner voice more grace + space to breathe?

Tune in to unravel the magic, and start listening to yourself.
