Shawn Perry, a native of Newark, NJ who currently resides in South Jersey. A wife, mother, worshiper, and domestic violence advocate who loves to inspire and empower people during their everyday walks of life. During her 20 years of working in the Human Services field, she had the privilege of becoming a Behaviorist for the last 7 years and was granted the opportunity to pursue and receive a Master’s degree in both Counseling and Behavior Analysis. Law Offices of David Paul Daniels has been family-owned and operated since 1979. Tamika N. Wyche-Greenidge, Esquire, started in the family business in 1997 as a legal secretary and -worked under the tutelage of her grandfather, David Paul Daniels, Esquire, until he passed on January 12, 2017. Tamika L. Chester values her faith, family, and community. I always wanted a vacation home in Florida. Five years I had this plan to purchase a home every time I tried doors were closed. Doors continued to close all the way to closing on the first home that we lost. We almost were not able to purchase this home because it appeared as if we had no income to purchase a second home because I was processing our taxes for years and was processing them incorrectly, so it appeared as we were not making any money. I was introduced to Business Bank Statement Loans and a broker that proved there is another way to purchase a home for Business Owners and Entrepreneurs.

On this episode of No More Excuses Wake Up! (Wisdom Tip) How I saved $170 a month for a year and a half to purchase a car with cash.
Having $50,000 in debt I had to decide to make some quick sound choices to not only get out of debt but to change the way I was thinking about money. I had to create a lifestyle of saving for things that were important to me. We had three cars and were paying $1300 a month in car notes not including gas and the maintenance of the car when the time came for the car to need maintenance. Do not wait for your car to break down to get back into a car note. Having a plan saving a little as $85 bi-weekly to save for a car.

I know you always hear about entrepreneurship which is why I am speaking briefly in this episode but from the heart. As I reflect on why I decided to be a business owner it came back to God showing me what He wanted me to do. In the process of my reflection, I asked myself why I took the path to be a business owner after working over 20 years in the field of mental health and education. I discovered my “why” and that “why” is what led me to continue to work in the field of helping others as a business owner.
Figuring out my “why” I am now able to help my staff and clients.
What is entrepreneurship to you?
Taking on a lot of risk and responsibility is the core of entrepreneurship. If money is the reason you should re-evaluate your “why” because money should not be the core of wanting to become your own boss.
My “why” is freedom. The freedom to follow my instincts, make the best administration decisions and follow what I believe is the right thing to do.

MONEY ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND LIFE- SKILLS THAT WAS NOT TAUGHT!
If there is one thing to know about me, I am serious when it comes to money and budgeting. Which is why I not only wrote about this topic in my book Whippin Debt’s Ass, but I also talk about the importance of sitting down each time you are paid and work on that budget to plan your monthly expenses. In this episode, "The Budget Is Real", I am breaking down how to utilize my personal budget spreadsheet. I separated each category that has a separate total, which you will be able to see what you are GOING to spend before you begin to pay your bills.
The bottom line is after all the bills are paid and you put money in the envelope category such as groceries, vacations, take out and date night, the left-over balance goes to pay your DEBT. This is called the burner syndrome. I will go into detail to break down the burner syndrome in another episode because the burner syndrome method will tell you what category to focus on in your envelopes. So, you are saving and living at the same time instead of having unnecessary envelopes and strategically planning.
I want you to focus on getting used to using a budget. If you do not have a budget you are not seeing your money perform. Which is why you do not know what you are spending and saving. Budgeting will be that guide to help you perform a better financial lifestyle.

- Budget is an outline for what you are going to spend before you spend.
- Commit to the budget which you will be committing to yourself.
- Execute the budget, by holding yourself accountable for making an agreement with yourself to improve your financial conditions.
- Plugging in, paying yourself and putting money away in the envelope category for groceries, take out, vacations etc.
- Spreadsheet categories, Income, Monthly household expenses, Monthly Debt payments, Envelopes.
- Special Circumstance is a place to put a surplus of money such as Child Support, Social Security or Survival Benefits to separate from your job income

On this episode of No More Excuses. Wake Up! I talk about different ways you can reinvent yourself in the middle of this pandemic.
I discuss how to make a change within yourself such as starting a company or writing a book that you have inside of you.
I realized during this stressful time that I do not need a brick and mortar for my staff to come into. I can continue to use zoom to run my businesses.
Reinventing yourself is about seeing what works and what does not work.
Parents need tutors to help them with their children schoolwork.
You are the author of your life. There are so many other ways to reinvent yourself.
You can start and invest in a IRA or Coinbase.
Passive income taste and smell great. Making money in your sleep is beneficial. You want to be on top of your finances by having multiple streams of income.
Income tax time is coming. You can reinvent yourself and get out of debt. Start a business or use your income tax for a down payment on a house. Look into your God given talent and make it happen.
The worst thing is to watch people change in front of you when you can change yourself.
Look at yourself in the mirror and see what you need to do yourself to make that change.

On today's episode, I share my personal experience as a Generation X in the sandwich generation taking care of my mom and raising my children.
A year ago, I notice a small decline regarding my mom paying her bills, taking her medication, and managing her finances. I had to take over and make changes in my life to include her. My mom is in the silent generation 1928-1945. I am in the Generation X 1965-1980.

My husband and I were tired of paying debt every 30 days. We became debt free on October 27th, 2018 after paying off $50,000 in one year using my financial burner method and spreadsheet.
