The military influencer community faces challenging questions about authenticity and service in light of recent Parade Deck controversy. I explain why I've maintained independence and chosen to align only with organizations like Act Now Education that share my values.
• Parade Deck organization has gathered numerous military podcasters under one umbrella
• Recent allegations have led to dissolved partnerships and questions about transparency
• Morning Formation Podcast has remained independent to maintain alignment with core values
• Military influencer space often divides between community-focused creators and self-promoters
• Awards and recognition systems can sometimes feel more like popularity contests than merit-based acknowledgment
• Many authentic military heroes don't seek the spotlight or maintain social media presences
• Important to carefully consider your affiliations and "know your circle"
• Legitimacy comes from service, integrity and impact—not titles or networking
• Recognition of authentic military content creators who prioritize service over self-promotion
• Remember: "Don't confuse looking important with being important"
Remember to stay tuned, stay focused, and stay motivated. Warriors fallout.

A combat veteran shares his perspective on America's growing political division and makes an impassioned plea for unity following recent political violence. Drawing from military experience and personal sacrifice, he argues that service to others provides meaning in life while highlighting the dangers of forming opinions solely from social media.
• Growing up as a military dependent with frequent moves and family challenges shaped his perspective on service
• Joined the Army National Guard at 18, later commissioning as an officer during wartime
• Combat experience in Iraq provided perspective on real suffering compared to American complaints
• People with limited real-world experience often form strong opinions based solely on social media
• Being "uninvited to the table" by family and friends over political differences is damaging America
• Material success and wealth don't provide inner fulfillment without purpose
• The Bronze Star medal he earned belongs to his entire platoon – achievements are rarely individual
• Having seen war-torn countries provides perspective on America's relative prosperity
• Time is precious – a cord from an IED he narrowly survived serves as a daily reminder
• Americans need to invite estranged family members back to the Thanksgiving table

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Hasara shares his extraordinary experiences from 24 years in the Air Force as a KC-135 aerial refueling pilot, revealing how tanker missions form the backbone of modern combat operations while offering profound leadership lessons.
• Childhood dreams sparked by watching aircraft at LAX led to a career flying the KC-135 tanker despite facing discouragement from teachers and counselors
• First combat mission during Desert Storm refueling Wild Weasel aircraft suppressing Iraqi air defenses — the specialized mission hunting and destroying enemy radar and missile sites
• Saved 32 F-16s that were critically low on fuel deep in Iraqi airspace, with one fighter down to just six minutes of flying time remaining
• Key leadership philosophy centers on relationships, trusting your team to solve problems their way, and thinking jointly across all military services
• Conned a 102,000-ton aircraft carrier during an underway replenishment — illustrating how small adjustments (1% throttle changes, 1-degree heading shifts) apply to both operations and life
• After being fired from his dream job, discovered it was "God's vector check" redirecting him to where his skills would be needed most following 9/11
• Modern air operations depend entirely on tanker support, with B-2 strikes requiring six refuelings and over a million pounds of fuel for a single mission
• Transitioning to civilian work revealed stark differences in mentorship, relationships, and purpose compared to military service
Check out Mark's book "Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit" and his YouTube channel (@MARKHASARA) for more insights into aerial refueling operations and leadership lessons.

Sergeant First Class Alexander Stewart shares his powerful journey as a combat veteran serving on three different fronts while becoming a mental health advocate and author. His raw account reveals how witnessing 9/11 as a child sparked his military service and how he's now channeling combat experiences into helping others facing invisible wounds.
• Inspired to enlist after witnessing the impact of 9/11 on his New York community just 45 minutes from NYC
• Deployed to Afghanistan (2013-2014), Iraq (2015), and Syria (2017), each presenting unique challenges and traumas
• Evolved his leadership style through deployments, learning that being technically proficient isn't enough without empathy
• Faced significant barriers when seeking mental health treatment despite clear PTSD symptoms
• Authored "Unspoken Words," a poetry collection giving voice to veterans who struggle to articulate their experiences
• Lost 31 military friends to suicide and now works to break stigma while still serving on active duty
• Helped over 27 veterans and service members who were contemplating suicide
If you're struggling in silence, remember: "It's completely okay to not be okay." Reach out to someone - a friend, family member, or fellow veteran. You have the courage because you've already faced challenges in uniform. One suicide a day is one too many.

Struggling with low energy, poor sleep, or diminishing physical performance? You're not alone. In this eye-opening conversation, I sit down with Matt Schaefer, a former Division I football player turned medical provider, and Yuan, the clinical manager at Ultimate Male Clinic, to unpack the realities of testosterone replacement therapy and modern approaches to men's health.
Matt brings a unique perspective, drawing from his background as an athlete, paramedic, and now a healthcare provider. This real-world experience allows him to connect authentically with clients—particularly military members, first responders, and blue-collar professionals who make up the majority of Ultimate Male's clientele. These high-stress occupations often lead to hormone imbalances that can significantly impact quality of life.
The discussion dismantles common misconceptions about testosterone therapy. Contrary to persistent myths, Matt cites recent research showing no increased cardiovascular risks with properly managed TRT. He explains how the clinic's comprehensive testing protocol ensures safety while optimizing results. The typical patient journey includes initial consultation, thorough blood work, personalized treatment planning, and regular follow-ups to monitor progress.
Perhaps most fascinating are the quality-of-life improvements reported by patients. Enhanced sleep quality is typically the first noticeable benefit, followed by increased energy, improved recovery, better mood, and renewed confidence. For veterans and first responders dealing with PTSD or TBI, hormone optimization can help regulate stress hormones and neurotransmitters disrupted by trauma.
Beyond traditional injections, the conversation explores alternative delivery methods including creams, subcutaneous pellets lasting 4-6 months, and newer oral medications. The clinic also addresses related concerns like hair loss, erectile dysfunction, and weight management through evidence-based approaches.
Whether you're experiencing symptoms of low testosterone or simply curious about optimizing your long-term health, this conversation provides valuable insights into how hormone therapy is transforming men's wellness. Ready to learn if these approaches might benefit you? Ultimate Male offers personalized consultations at their West Hollywood, San Gabriel, and Downey locations.

Ladies and gentlemen, standing across from your host today at 6’3” and 175 lbs is a military service member who represents our community through his Mixed Martial Arts endeavors.
Today, I am joined with an Air Force Service member who caught my attention on social media when I saw a short video where he had severely broken nose in 3 areas during one of his fights last August and this warrior opted to keep fighting. He even got it adjust shortly after the fight with no anesthetics.
Anyone who attempts to call him part of the “Chair Force,” will face off against a professional with a determined will to fight and the self-motivation rarely found in today’s society. I asked him to be a guest on The Morning Formation Podcast because I’m sincerely curious to learn more about this warrior.

Today, we have a special episode for the parents, guardians, and future leaders who wish to take the military into consideration and also complete college at the same time. I’m talking about the prestigious Army ROTC program, which is available in many colleges all across the United States.
I have a former coworker and friend, who also was deployed in 2004-2005 in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Mosul, Iraq. I was a lowly 2LT in a nearby Transportation Platoon and she was the Executive Officer of her respective Maintenance Company.
Today, I am very proud to say that our guest has managed to climb the Army ranks and is now a Lieutenant Colonel and is serving as a Professor of Military Science at San Diego State University, where she mentors, guides, and build our future military leaders. I’d like to welcome LTC Michelle Parlette to The Morning Formation Podcast.

Today, I have a guest whose educational motives involve breaking the status quo of a certification that has gone unopposed for over 20 years. Not only has this certification gone unopposed, but this certification across boundaries from the military to the civilian workforce is universally recognized to better your task efficiency, fully assures work completion, and relates work experience between the military and civilian professions. The certification that we’re talking about today is for everyone and is of very high value.
I’m joined today with the Chief Development Officer of DOL Coach, Heather Kuhns. And we previously spoke with another former executive from DOL Coach about his background and the importance of the certification. You see, DOL Coach is an educational organization that offers various levels of project management certifications. The unique thing about this is that it was founded by a Special Forces military veteran, Scott Kinder.
Now, our guest, Heather, was a military spouse and has worn many hats throughout her career. Honorably, she joined DOL Coach to apply her mission statement to serve others. In summary, Heather seeks to help others grow, both personally and professionally, and achieve their best self to make a positive impact on their respective communities.

Who says military spouses can’t also have their own business, write pages and pages of inspiring books, be a social media influencer to thousands, and all while running the household when the military spouse is away either in the field, or on a combat deployment?
In time’s past, military spouses were known to have their hands full with taking care of the kids, managing the daily household tasks, running or operating the Family Readiness Groups, and many also held down a full-time hourly/salary jobs!
Today’s military spouse breaks that old mold and I have one of those outstanding spouses with me today and her name is Mrs. Rietta Boksha who has written two romantic novels, runs a full-time podcast with her cousin, and she’s also a fully engaged social media influencer on Instagram.

Thank you for joining us today, warriors. We’re joined today with a US Army Signal Corps Commissioned Officer, but unlike many military officers, our guest today is unique. When our guest today is donning the United States Army uniform, some have to do a double take because most serving in the military are clean shaven wearing their issued head gear. Unlike most, 1LT Kanwar Singh is a devout Sikh, loves America, has a full beard with long hair neatly tucked under his turban.
In 2011, 1LT Singh attended a speech where Senator John McCain encouraged attendees to serve their country through the military. Shortly thereafter, SPC Singh took the ASVAB, scored within the top 1% and sought to somehow join the United States Army without breaking his deep religious beliefs in Sikhism.
In today’s episode, we’re going to learn more about 1LT Singh and his journey, which ended up challenging a policy that was held in place, since 1981, against honoring religious accommodations for Sikhs.

Today, we’re joined with a retired Army Command Sergeant Major, who now serves as a Veteran advocate for business and leadership.
His time in the military and education serves to qualify him as a trainer, coach, and mentor in organizational leadership, human resources, human capital management, talent acquisition, marketing and recruitment.
Mix all these skills and experiences together, and you get a professional with the ability to create an entity like “Veterans Growing America,” which is an organization focused on engaging and helping military community entrepreneurs accelerate their growth. They do this through marketing and hosting Veteran business expos. Veterans Growing America also partners with The Rosie Network and AFFES to create a robust event helping hundreds, if not thousands, of military community entrepreneurs.
Those of you in the “know,” and on the LinkedIn and online military community circle might’ve already guessed that our guest today is retired Army Command Sergeant Major Donnell Johns Senior.

Today’s guest came to a fork in the road, after being critically injured while serving in Afghanistan and decided to take the path of positivity, being an inspiration to his loved ones and created a legacy of a “can-do” and a never give up attitude…He decided to value the bigger picture of his family over the “here and now” of his unfavorable grave situation.
I am absolutely honored to have my guest today who served as a former Navy cook turned Army EOD Tech, Mr. Aaron Hale. And for those of you listening, Aaron’s Army occupation in EOD is considered one of the most dangerous occupations, especially in our current warfare. For anyone out there unfamiliar, the recent movie “The Hurt Locker” was the job that Aaron performed, while in the Army and was the job that would ultimately cause him to lose his eye sight and hearing from an IED blast while serving in Afghanistan.

Thank you for joining us today, folks on this very special podcast episode, we're going to be talking with an aspiring future military officer. He's also been serving on The Morning Formation Podcast as a volunteer apprentice for the last few months.
So, in the background, this gentleman has provided me with technical assistance, and the editing of many of my podcast episodes. And I wanted to bring him on board, because I think it's really important for us as military veterans and people within our military community to reach back and mentor and provide an experience of learning and leadership. So I'm very honored to have Mr. Avi Dhanraj, as a member of The Morning Formation Podcast team.
We're joined and I am honored to have the next generation of military leader on our show today. I met this gentleman while hosting the Military Mix-Up in the Mil-Pact Club on Clubhouse and I felt that this young professional has something going for him that places him ahead of his class and that is the maturity and brilliance to seek knowledge from his fellow military community. For him to be actively seeking information, leaning forward in the “foxhole,” in preparedness demonstrates this young commissioned officer’s overall maturity and professionalism because when I was his age and, in his position, I did not seek advice or help from anyone.
We have US Army 2LT Jordan Player who has been commissioned for only a few weeks, now. He’s a Signal Officer who’s eager and ready to lead from the front.

Today, we have two Army veterans on the show here to talk about an organization that prepares you for tomorrow’s job market with technological occupations, which will open doors to a lifelong career bc as you know our high-speed age of internet and security isn’t going away anytime soon.
The organization is called NPower and they have established themselves as a frontline leader in providing military veterans and underserved communities a great opportunity for up up-and-coming professionals looking for a window of opportunity.

Lately in the news, we’ve been hearing a lot about cyber security and its overall importance, especially as we progress further into IT automation and artificial intelligence managing some of our major infrastructures here in America. With such a rising emphasis, many opportunities have created to bridge the gap and lure professionals into a cybersecurity career.
In September of 2020, The University of North Carolina in Charlotte (UNCC), along with several other universities, was awarded a grant from The National Security Agency (NSA) to develop certification-based and national training for number of transitioning military and first responders.
The program is being offered online and free of charge to folks within our military community and today, we are very fortunate to have a Program Manager & Recruiter from The University of North Carolina in Charlotte, Mr. Steve Olson, to talk about the opportunities available and give some insight on himself, as a fellow military veteran.

“Project management involves the planning and organization of a company's resources to move a specific task, event, or duty towards completion (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/project-management.asp).
It’s that simple.
It does NOT specify ANY specific industry or position, it IS a skillset that is unknowingly practiced by many on a daily and weekly basis. Leading an idea from it’a initial draft to full completion is “project management.”
In this episode, DOL Coach’s Josh Cunio discusses how this certification IS FOR YOU and how his company is revolutionizing the way we learn and better understand project management.

Welcome to the Morning Formation. I’m your host Papa Kilo. Today, we have our guest Marine Corps Sergeant John Peck joining us.
During his military service he was deployed twice. During his 2007 deployment in Iraq he was injured while on patrol from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and suffered Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), which took him just about 2 years to rehabilitate.
SGT Peck then re-enlisted into the Marines, which would then take him on a deployment to Afghanistan in 2010, where he was critically injured from a landmine, which caused him to lose both arms and legs.
Years later, SGT Peck endured 16 hours of surgery to attach two arms for a bi-lateral arm transplant.
SGT Peck now has a book available which is titled, “Rebuilding Sergeant Peck.”
In this podcast, we focus on his life after the tragedy in Afghanistan. His love life, plans for the future, and his daily interests.
