Our world is a crazy one! How do we make sense of it all? The Bible has something to say about every inch of thread that makes up the fabric of our existence. Join me for 20-25 context-providing minutes so that you can begin to make sense of it all. At the end of the podcast, we will point you to extra resources so that you can dig deeper if you want to. Let's learn together from a Christian worldview. Give it a try!
Often in the Christian walk we enter dry periods where things just don't seem right in our souls. Or, we see others weather the storms of life but we, ourselves, seem lacking. Today Keith discusses where meditation, biblical meditation, might help.
The FDA was complicit with the Opioid Crisis that took 800,000 lives and takes 187 lives an hour today. They were complicit in running cover for the Pharmaceutical companies during COVID. What to do with both. Keith has a radical proposition and a biblical justification.
The US Secret Service no longer is capable of or interested in protecting the President of the United States. DEI hires, lack of training, lack of interest, lacking of vetting employees, and a "civil servant"s' rather than "soldier's" mindset contributed to the potentially catastrophic security lapses at the Correspondence Dinner. Keith explains.
Keith continues his discussion of the goings on in Minnesota (particularly Minneapolis), asking and answering the question--how did this happen?
There's a lot of inflammatory language and activity about what's going on in Minnesota. Who is really to blame? How did things get so crazy. Join Keith as he tries to get at the heart--with a surprising insight or two that surprised even him.
Foolish people doing foolish things suffer the consequences of their foolish decisions.
This is our first podcast of the New Year after a health-related hiatus. There's a lot we could cover. But we will start with fraud from protests to systemic Somali and government fraud, to developments with Keith's health, to a special announcement. More to come!
You can't help being struck by pictures of Ice Agents arresting and detaining illegal immigrants on YouTube, the News, and other means. The pictures are startling. But there is a story beneath this story that few examine carefully or logically--which is to say biblically.
Join Keith as he attempts to navigate this very sensitive issue as he explore the multiple layers of tragedy at play through the lens of a biblical (Christian) worldview.
This life is short (but eternity is long) and this life can be hard. Join Keith on the 9th anniversary of his daughter's "tragic" accident as he recalls the Lord's goodness in a dark, dark time. Maybe you will find hope in Keith's testimony of the goodness and grace of God.
Do you marvel at the seeming convergence of Islam, Gaza terrorist, left leaning college students, and the lgbtq agenda?
Is Islam a religion of gay ideals? Was Mohammed a proud trans-lesbian woman? Is this what your college student believes?
To be sure, Islam does not support homosexualism nor was Mohammed a woman, or gay. These are lies that a deluded and increasingly irrational left propogate and increasingly believe. Don't think so--listen to a sound bite and listen to today's podcat.
There are too many tall people in the NBA. Have you considered the implications? Where does DEI fit into the equation? Keith uses satire to make his point.
Let's objectively and humorously examine Donald Trump meeting with his millionaire and billionaire buddies and he wrecks the East Wing--with a little humor and under 5 minutes.
Another whistle blower has dropped a bit of a bombshell about COVID-19 Vaccines spurring the writing of a book I will discuss in the podcast. But the book also traces troubling practices dating back to the 1950's with a government practice in ignoring the obvious to the harm of its people and the benefit of large corporations. I discuss this book another podcast ad this disturbing trend.
Climate change alarmist Bill Gates says the Climate Change Crisis is overblown? What happened? Join Keith for a brief analysis.
Surprising, non-surprising thoughts on the No Kings Rally plus the Transgender Trends and how they intersect.
Pastor Keith considers the sad trajectory of BIOLA University in connection with the LGBTQ movement and community on Campus. A recent publication of the policy of BIOLA stated the following (excerpted):
"Students desiring to live in Biola-owned housing will be placed based on their sex at birth. However, as issues connected to sexuality and gender are complex and layered, we will walk with students on an individual basis who identify as transgender or experience dissonance with their biological sex and gender in order to provide helpful support, to arrive at decisions around facilities use, and to offer appropriate accountability....We also ask that transgender individuals refrain from the process of a medical transition during their time at Biola."
There's more... but you get the picture... Join Keith as he discusses the state of affairs in Christian Higher education.
Today is our mailbag podcast. And what a mailbag this go-around is! Among our questions is speaking to a friend or loved one on their deathbed about eternity, why Atheists seem to focus on Christianity rather than Islam, Hinduism, and even Indigenous Religions, and two or three others you will find interesting. Join us as Keith tackles these difficult questions.
Voddie Bauchum has passed from the land of the dying to the land of the living. He was kind enough in the past to minister three times at churches where I served. Seeing him up close and personal was revealing. Here I share a few thoughts and observations about this godly servant.
Charlie Kirk's memorial service was attended by hundreds of thousands in person and watch by millions around the world. What are our takeaways? Given what we've seen in the last few days we have to ask, "What might the future hold..." Keith touches on these things. Join us! Also, as a bonus gift for listening, Keith has included the audio book recording of the introduction and first chapter to his latest book, "Miracles According to Jesus: An Introduction to Miracles and the Miraculous. Enjoy this preview of this book due out the first week of December as a token of our appreciation.
Progressive Democrats often decry hate speech and violence. But do they promote it? Keith examines their recent track record in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination.
Today we live in the dark, dark shadow of Charlie Kirk's senseless murder (yesterday) and the anniversary of September 11th, 2001. How do we make sense of it all? And are they ideologically connected? Join us as Pastor Keith attempts to provide context and understanding.
Some say that the transgender people group and cause seems disproportionately violent. Why have there been so many transgender attacks on Christian Schools, from Tennessee to Minnesota? Keith provides a biblical analysis and explanation.
Imagine waking up to discover that the largest immigration raid in US history takes place in my hometown, Savannah, GA. Join pastor Keith's discussion of this historic raid and its implications regarding "economic human trafficking" and the potential involvement of large corporations like the Korean giant, Hyundai.
What about baptism? Should we baptize children who are not born again because of their parents' faith? Isn't this what "household baptism" is? Keith answers these questions and more, plus a bonus.
Today, people seem to have lost their understanding of and the value and nobility of work. Part of the reason is that they pursue useless degrees, often PhD's in useless fields of decolonization, feminist studies, masters degrees in bloated fields like sociology or psychology, and there's simply no market. Besides this they have no real skills and they become embittered. Keith explores this sad state of affairs and offers possible solutions.
Keith follows up his earlier discussion of Post-Millennialism and Christian Nationalism with a brief history of their unfortunate, checkered pasts.
How many times do we hear the statement, "Experts say..."? Do you ever stop to think, "What experts?" More often than not the people cited were ideologs or not experts at all. Join Keith as he explores the idea of "Experts say" in a variety of issues facing our culture today.
Pastor Keith speaks briefly on the state of the church. Is it all about lasers and fog machines? What would Jesus say about your church?
I worked at Grace Community Church for close to three years in the Outreach Department before accepting my first pastorate. I had the privilege of seeing John MacArthur minister. He also greatly blessed my family and my ministry. He even had a material impact on the ministry of Hillside Church. Here are my thoughts and reflections based on my experience, including an excerpt from a discussion about reopening Hillside during the pandemic.
Today, we cover a wide range of topics. First, comes a health update. Second, we deal with how you can help others in the Texas flood. Finally, we deal with how Donald Trump reveals your mental health. Don't miss this one.
Join us for this multi-topic episode as we conclude our discussion of racism, consider the recent events in Iran from an "End Times" perspective, and then lastly, Keith makes a special announcement.
Who is the racist? The Progressive Left. Listen as Keith presents a different perspective.
We return to our discussion of Illegal Immigration and the Refugee Crisis after a hiatus. Today, Keith talks about our responsibility to the sojourners among us and their responsibilities to us, according to the Bible. Many point to verses in the Bible suggesting that we have a responsibility, biblically, to accept "the sojourner" or visitor. But what does the Bible really say. And how do we avoid getting sucked into a political debate? Keith touches on all this and more.
Right now pundits and political operatives are blaming Joe Biden for their loss of the White House, saying he should have pulled out earlier. They portray surprise at the cover-up of his condition--shock at disclosures in books coming out on the Biden White House and his mental decline. Should Biden be blamed? Keith explains why not.
Today, Keith shares commentary on the real culprit behind the cover-up of Joe Biden's mental and physical decline from his dementia to his cancer.
We like to believe that it when it comes to heaven that we and are our friends are "going to make it.? But is that true? 80% of Americans self-identify as Christian. How does this relate to our previous question, "Are we all going to make it?" Listen as Keith tackles this discussion.
What is your vision of heaven? If you got an advance list of residents, would you be disappointed?
Do you picture heaven as an unending family reunion or a get-together with old friends?
Is heaven about you or God? Would you be disappointed if heaven doesn't match your human, earthly idea? Keith confronts these concerns using Jesus' comments to the Sadducees in the Gospel of Matthew.
The present immigration crisis is a complex societal and biblical issue. Keith begins a series of podcasts on this topic, starting with an introduction to Immigration and "Refugees" as he frames these matters from a biblical worldview. Join us for part one.
Here's a little surprise for (some of) you: an introduction to Keith's new book: "Miracles According to Jesus (An Introduction to Miracles and the Miraculous)." This book is the second in a trilogy that Keith is writing pertaining to "all things Holy Spirit related."

No one could have prevented the Santa Ana winds whipping across Southern California. They have been coming for hundreds of years. But could the spread of the fires been controlled? Why weren't they. Keith has a theory.
Keith talks about our moral responsibility and organ harvesting in China from live victims. You are in for a surprise or two, mostly unpleasant. But these things we need to know.
With the Fall of Syria after 10 years of Civil War we are reminded of the failures of the Obama Administration around the world and at home--as well as in this last election cycle.
Former president Obama nowadays an out of touch multi-multi-millionaire has become what he had once opposed and lost relevance. Join Keith as he explores this phenomena.
This is a special podcast of a talk recorded for Salem Broadcasting where Pastor Keith talks about making sense of our suffering.
Pastor Keith makes two surprising announcements and offers an explanation of a group of which he has been extremely critical.
Today much is made about being exclusive or inclusive. Some charge that Christianity excludes others and other religions because of its core beliefs. Consequently, according to the values of some, this is wrong. But aren't all philosophies exclusive to one degree or another? Join Keith for a clear discussion of these things so that you can explain your faith to others.
As the dust continues to settle and fall out materializes Keith concludes his deconstruction of the election.
Donald Trump just achieved electoral history in his landslide defeat of Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party. What happened to the Democratic Party? Why did they lose much of their traditional support? Much of their traditional support migrated to Donald Trump. But why? Keith begins an explanation in part one of this two part podcast.
People often disrespect church leaders without giving it much thought. They should not do this. Keith tells us why?
Here is a replay of the interview with the then president of the Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary, Dr. Adam Greenway about the importance of theological education in the 21st century.
This is a replay of the interview done almost four years ago before the incidents of January 6th. Today, it seems almost prescient and prophetic.
What's up with Israel? It seems that they are determined to prosecute a war to the death with Hamas, Hezbollah, and maybe even Iran and no longer listen to or coordinate with the West. Israel seems happy to become a pariah, if necessary. What's going on? Find out in today's podcast.

This is the conclusion to the previous podcast. If you haven't listened to the previous, go back and catch up before you listen to this one.
Recently, I had an epiphany: God answered 8 years of prayer... only not in the way I asked or expected. Here's Keith Crosby's confession in part one of this two part podcast series. Maybe you will find encouragement here.
Do you resent God when He treats you poorly? Can God treat you poorly? Does He? When "stuff" happens to us what should we think? How should we think?
What are we to think of Christians who do not attend or refuse to attend Church? What does the Bible say about church attendance? Join Keith for a "lively" discussion.
Does it matter if you vote or who you vote for? Should you, as a Christian, "sit out" an election. Pastor Keith takes up this discussion.

Joe Biden's catastrophic debate performance, the attempted assassination of former president Donald Trump, Joe Biden's withdrawal as candidate for president, and the seeming coronation or appointment of Kamala Harris by party elites. How then shall we pray? Find out... join us for today's podcast.
As the dust settles, the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump grants us a peculiar insight and perspective into the condition of our culture. Join Keith as he discusses the realities lingering beneath the surface.
This one is for Christians, primarily. July 11 marks the birthday of both my dad and my older brother. It is a day of some reflection but not obsession. Each died "prematurely" years apart (December 25, 1981 for my dad and September 11, 1992 for my brother). There's a lot more I could say... but I'll leave it to you to decide by listening to the podcast.
What we saw almost a week ago was more than a debate. It was and remains a national security crisis and a call to prayer. Keith explains.
What do we make of climate change? First there was the threat of Ice Age, then Global Warming, then Climate Change, and now "Extreme Weather." Can we trust the experts? What might the unchanging word of God tell us about climate patterns?
Are you part of the cult of the mask? People still wear masks inside their cars driving with the windows up, some wear surgical masks while they hike, run, or bicycle. Some where masks in every day life. Many wear the mask but they wear the mask under their nose, without the nose covered. Some call this the cult of the mask--it's like a sociological-religious symbol. Join Keith as he discusses the cult of the mask in light of objective truth and science--and scripture.

Which would you choose? Your son has had a mental health crisis, perhaps harmed themselves, and your son and his health care providers confront you with the following choices.
Would you rather have a dead son who perhaps committed suicide or a happy transitioned daughter?
Are you willing to affirm this choice to transition if you love your child? Wouldn't you rather see them happy? Choose!
Are these really the only two options? Join Keith has he discusses difficult choices.
The world has changed. Did you notice? Your idea of Christianity is likely gone and gone forever. Join Keith as he discusses the changes that brought this about.

Part two of the catastrophic implosion of the United Methodist Church looks beyond the recent departure of 1 in 4 Methodist Churches from the denomination (over 7600 churches) to the tell-tale signs of decay and decline since 2004.
We also briefly examine the parallel apostasy of the Episcopal Church USA and its decline, given that it serves as a harbinger of where the United Methodist Denomination (and those churches who remain) is headed. I've included a video referred to in the podcast from a bizarre Episcopal Rally, here.
What we see is what happens to denominations when they reject the Christ of the Bible, His gospel, and the Bible itself.
As promised, this podcast provides a biblical perspective on the schism in the United Methodist Church. This installment is the first in a series of podcasts where Pastor Keith breaks down what led up to the schism and what the schism means.
And what a schism this is! This schism represents the largest departure of churches from any denomination or group in almost 150 years. This implosion has also given birth to a new, more evangelical-ish version of a Methodist Denomination: the birth of the Global Methodist Church https://globalmethodist.org/).
What prompted this schism? Some say a picture is worth a thousand words... the video below will introduce you to SOME of the troubles facing this troubled denomination.

There’s been a lot of discussion about the apparent policy pivots leading up to and discussed in the State of the Union Address by Joe Biden. Some jokingly say, “It’s a miracle! Join Mark and Keith as they begin a discussion on understanding the Occult.
We hear a lot about self-care these days and just as much about mental health. Between COVID-19 and it's isolating lockdowns and people crumbling under pressure in business, entertainment, and sports mental health and self-care have moved more and more to the forefront of cultural awareness. Join Keith and Mark as they discuss this topic from a Scriptural perspective.
There has been a shift in our culture and in the American government’s attitude toward people of faith. Government, the Educational Establishment, and Corporate interests increasingly penalize Christ followers. Some wonder if we are already in “The Tribulation Period.” Others ask, “Is the Kingdom of God and His Church at risk?” Others wonder, “What to do about persecution? Should I avoid it?” Keith and Mark consider all these questions in today’s podcast.
What is "censorship?" Are we facing government censorship through proxies such as tech and social media companies? What do we make of the Biden Administration’s directors to Facebook and others to censor those with whom they disagree? What is "misinformation?" Listen and consider the implications of this latest turn of events.
No one likes confrontation. But in a fallen world, and especially among Christ followers, confrontation cannot be avoided. So how do we deal with people who hurt us, offend us, or sin against us. Join Keith and Mark for a lively discussion.
There are as many religions, almost as many as there are people. Who can understand them all? How do we talk to them and respectfully challenge them? What’s a Christian to do? It’s not as hard as you think. Join Keith and Mark as they discuss strategies for speaking with people of other faiths.
Should you have church YOUR WAY or His way? Sometimes churches abandon their mission in favor of letting members and attenders have it their way (like the old fast food jingle). This is how churches become social clubs (and die)! Join Keith and Mark as they discuss this grave problem.
This is another "interview Friday!" Is someone you know considering seminary or theological education? Join Keith as he speaks with Dr. Adam Greenway, president of The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas (one of the largest seminaries in North America). They discuss seminary online, in person, and theological education in the 21st Century.
In our series "The Lies People Tell" we are examining things that often seem true but can be false. Sometimes, in churches and families, the Gospel is watered down, oversimplified, and even gutted to the point we vaccinate people against the truth. Instead, we substitute a checklist to keep them out of Hell and to help them find comfort and do things to keep God off their backs. In so doing, churches make good things like praying to receive Christ, daily prayer and devotion, and even Bible reading lies because they are misrepresented as works that save us or ingratiate us to God. Join Keith and Mark as they discuss this knotty topic.
How should a follower of Jesus Christ, view the organization called "Black Lives Matter"? Black Lives Matter once "scrubbed" their website of objectionable content prior to the last presidential election. What could they possibly have wanted to hide? And based on what they have to say ab about themselves, how should we think of them as Christians? Keith and Mark examine this question by comparing statements from their website with the Bible.
Climate change bodes the end of the world (so says one female politician)! Trump will return to office as President June 30 (so says QANON)! Jesus will appear with me on stage (so says one charlatan rock-star type televangelist). God has a word for you (so says a prophetess in your church)! Is there a sane (i.e. Biblical) perspective on all this? There is. Keith and Mark explain.
In California, June 20 may well be the first masks optional Sunday in over a year. How then shall we do church? Keith and Mark discuss their own church and Biblical principles that apply to all churches.
The current crisis between Hamas, Gaza and Israel begs the question: “Who is right?” Reading media reports, there only seems to be one side to the story: Israel is at fault. If Gaza (Hamas) fires rockets at Israeli pre-schools, schools, hospitals, and residential areas and Israel strikes back, what is the appropriate and proportional response? Whose side is God on? Has God chosen sides? Keith and Mark tackle these questions and more. Don’t miss it.
What is progressive Christianity? Is it biblical? Is it another gospel? Join Keith and Mark for a helpful overview of the Progressive Christian Worldview (and its roots).
How the COVID Pandemic will reveal the heart conditions of some and sift the church? We are going to see more and more spiritual people decline to return to church. What do we make of those people who seem to say, “I don’t really need church… I can watch and worship online? Are they “Exvangelicals?” What is an “Exvangelical” Join Keith and Mark and find out!
As we look back on the death of George Floyd and the trial of Derek Chauvin as Christians, what are we to think? How are we to think? All over this fallen world people seek revenge for injustices. Should we do it unto others because they did it unto us? Join Keith and Mark as they grapple with the complexities of it all, using God’s word.
Is the new Georgia election law really Jim Crow on Steroids or Jim Crow 2.0? Or is it simply a tightening up of a law that had a few gaps? Is the State of Georgia a racist rogue or not? Should Major League Baseball have relocated the All-Star Game? Or not? Listen as Keith and Mark apply Biblical principles to these questions and give you an answer.
We often hear "clueless Christians" used to describe all Christians because our culture takes a dim view of our beliefs. But there's another kind of "clueless Christian" and we want to provide you a clue as to what that means. Join Keith and Mark as they discussed becoming a clued-in Christian.
What are we to make of a Christian activist (or Christian activism)? Christians don’t overthrow governments, riot, or “burn down the system.” But they do try and change the world. How then shall we think? Join Keith and Mark as they reason their way through this issue using the Bible.
With the spate of embarrassing (and forced) retractions, it has become painfully obvious that the news media is hopelessly biased. We see this from media scandals from the 1990’s until today. But how long has the media been biased and what can be done about it? Keith and Mark discuss the problem and solutions.
You’ve been groomed and manipulated by media, social media and cultural forces aligned with Critical Justice (or Critical Race) Theory. And it’s only just begun. Law abiding citizens are forfeiting their freedoms as the result of coordinated manipulation. How is this done and how can it be reversed? Join Keith and Mark as they discuss answers to both questions!
Is prayer returning to California public schools? If the authors of the new Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum have their way the answer is yes. Not only would prayer return but there would also be a "new kid in town"; a state religion with which our children would be indoctrinated via mandated ethnic studies. This is a top-down full-court press whose genesis began in the state university system and continues as a contagion. Has it spread to our public schools? What's up and what can you do? Join Keith and Mark as they tackle and explore this topic.
Jesus Christ is the God of mercy, grace, and facts—not lived experience. Today, as in Jesus day, we are confronted by legalistic Pharisee types who are woke, graceless, and merciless. What can we do? Join Keith and Mark as they discuss lessons learned from seemingly unrelated events like Meghan and Harry accusing the Royal Family of racism and the Bachelor’s Chris Harrison losing his job for “defending racism.”
Both LinkedIn and the Coca Cola Company come under scrutiny for racist ideology that potentially discriminates against “white people” on the basis of race. Employees are increasingly being subjected to reverse racism bullying. All discrimination is sin and evil. What’s an employee to do? Join Keith and Mark as they discuss the problem and recommend a way forward.
There has been a significant increase with young people between the ages of 14 and 21 coming out as LGBTQ. What's the cause and what should a parent or a family member do when a son, daughter or sibling “comes out"? Join Keith and Mark as they discuss this phenomenon.
It seems that the Church (capital C) is better at identifying homosexuality as sin than it is loving those who struggle with same-sex temptation. How should the church receive, love, accept, and support those believers struggling with homosexuality? Listen as Keith and Mark discuss this ministry opportunity of the Church.
As we continue our discussion of sexual identity and sexuality as gifts from God, join Keith and Mark for a gracious and sober discussion on the topic of homosexuality.
Is there a transgender pandemic? How is it that we go from a diagnostic rate of 1 in 100,000 girls and 1 in 30,000 boys, to 4 and 5 in a school or a Facebook Group. Join us as Keith and Mark tackle the topic.
There could not be a more controversial topic in today's culture (and the Church). Remember that conversations have a beginning, a middle, and an end. We humbly ask that you hear us out until the end before passing judgment. In our initial podcast episode and discussion we ask; are all things fluid or subjective. Join Keith and Mark for the opening discussion and consideration of Transgenderism.
Keith and, best-selling New York Times author and national commentator, Rod Dreher, discuss what lies ahead in an increasingly woke world where the institutions of "woke corporations" and the educational establishment combine to bring about a soft totalitarian state. Rod and Keith discuss the coming persecution of Christians and the challenges they will face as they try to survive under this new form of totalitarianism, looking to the lessons of the past in Eastern Europe. Join us and learn.
When a person is drowning you have to go and get them--or try to do so. The same is true of an addict. Sometimes, to help them reach rock bottom and come to their senses, loved ones must intervene and lovingly confront them. But how?! Actually, Jesus gives us an example in Matthew 18:15-17. Listen as Keith and Mark describe how this passage can apply to staging an intervention in the life of someone who has become addicted.
Where does addiction lead? There are two possible destinations—death or life (recovery). The path is difficult but not impossible to overcome. The obstacles are many. The greatest impediments to recovery are both the addict’s pride and sense of victimhood or entitlement, and the enablers who do dumb things with the best of intentions. Join Keith and Mark as they consider all the ins and outs addicts and those who love them face, and the choices they must make if the addict is to survive.
Last week's events at the Capitol building were hard to watch. A peaceful protest seemed to degenerate into a riot. What happened, and who is to blame? Join Keith and Mark for a discussion of this event, who is to blame, what the Bible says about such types of behavior and what the future may hold.
During the holidays and other otherwise happy seasons of life, people continue to struggle with addiction. In this miniseries within a series, Keith and Mark discuss addiction over the course of 4 podcasts. There's so much confusion about addiction. Is it a disease, a sinful behavior, or just what? Keith and Mark wrestle through these questions in today's episode, as always, using the Bible as their guide.

There are so many competing narratives today, depending on which side of the "political (or cultural) aisle" you sit. But for Christians, it seems like we have lost our narrative--our story--by tainting it or blending it with that of a political party or metanarrative. We don't want to be like Martha distracted by so many things--we want to be like Mary, keeping the main thing the main thing. Join Keith and Mark as they talking about shedding false Messiahs and distractions and reestablishing the right priority and reembracing the right narrative--particularly in light of Advent Season.
In our last podcast (Illegal aliens) we compared 1 Peter's 'aliens and strangers' terminology and today's terminology of 'illegal aliens' to employ a metaphor, to discuss how Christians should look and respond to outsiders as people who are not of this world (i.e. aliens and strangers). In Podcast 17, borrowing the popular term 'sanctuary city', we talk about how believers and the Church should have safe places of refuge in the home or elsewhere. Here we can learn in community, and invite "outsiders" inside for the cause of Christ. In a hectic world, we need quiet spaces to retool, refresh, and recharge our spiritual batteries. Places where we can help ourselves and others in the Christian community. In today's podcast, Keith and Mark discuss the need for such places and how they might work. Join the conversation!
Imagine being in some country "illegally." You may be living in a culture that doesn't quite make sense to you. In some cases, it may be a culture that is not welcoming or friendly. Because of your status as "an illegal," you have to be cautious and careful. You don't want to call unnecessary attention to yourself and invite arrest, sanctions, or retribution. How then do you live? If you are wise, for the sake of your family and children, you live and socialize among your own people. Relationships outside your group are formed wisely, intentionally, and carefully--purposefully. So it is with Christians! We are aliens and strangers on earth (and in our own countries). Increasingly our worldview is becoming criminalized (gay marriage, transgender rights, et al) and we find ourselves in danger of sanction, legal and civil penalties and "culturally disadvantaged." Therefore, we have to wisely live out our faith and invest wisely in those outside the faith. But how? Mark and Keith explain and address these challenges in today's podcast.
This week Keith and Mark discuss https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moralistic_therapeutic_deism (Moralistic Therapeutic Deism), a worldview that looks to supplant the content and theology of the Christian faith within the church. A 2005 study of 3,000 teens revealed that most teens subscribe to this view that was provided by churches and parents oversimplifying the Christian Faith. Many agree that it is this worldview, foisted on teens by churches and parents seeking to make good kids rather than saved sinners, that undermines the faith of many young people. Once they enter college they seem to walk away from a faith they perhaps never really had. Join Keith and Mark for a spirited discussion.
At the end of October, Pope Francis stunned the world by advocating for Gay Civil Unions. Many, including many Catholics, see this as a decided, gradual shift toward making Gay Marriage a doctrine of the Roman Church by first affirming the practice and then changing the official doctrine at a later date. Does the mean that the Pope also affirms sexual activity (homosexual or otherwise) outside of marriage? Does the Pope really see the practice of homosexuality as a sin? Did God or Jesus reserve marital relationships for one man and one woman? What does the Bible say? Join Mark and Keith as they discuss this event and its implications. This begins season three: "Christians, Christ, and the Culture."
It seems believers and the Church are heading into a season of persecution independent of this last election. It's not if, but when persecution will come. That's why Season 2 is called "The Coming Persecution." In today's podcast, we provide both perspective and prescription on what you can do to prepare through concrete principles from the hard-won wisdom of believers who lived through Marxist totalitarianism in Eastern Europe during the Cold War. In so doing, we try to look at it all through the lens of Scripture.
As Christians, we will be labeled many things after this election as we face the coming persecution. But we must learn to see ourselves as dissidents and be willing to embrace suffering for the cause of Christ. This episode introduces the concept of seeing yourself not as a victim but a dissident.
As we discussed in the previous episode we should expect to be persecuted. Things have been simmering for quite some time. But what can we expect and when can we expect it? This week's podcast sheds light on these very subjects.
This episode is the namesake of the entire season two! In Matthew 16:2-3 Jesus cautioned His hearers to take the metaphorical look around them. He observed that they would forecast the weather by observing the color of the clouds while failing to take in the signs of the times. We are losing our freedom of religion and assembly. People are startingly and overtly anti-Christian. In John 16:2, Jesus warns that some will persecute believers with a religious fervor. How then shall we live? Learn more and find out in today's episode!
You are being groomed. We are being gradually conditioned and manipulated to give up our rights--willingly! We've already given up our right to assembly... to worship. We are being conditioned to unconditionally and uncritically accept the abuses of power by governors, mayors, health officers, and others without the passage of a single piece of legislation. Those who differ or dissent are suffering fines, dehumanization, and demonization as those who don't care about their fellow man. From "vaccine refusers" to those who don't wear masks... those who don't comply with the prevailing narrative and its dogma are being marginalized. What does this mean? What can we do? Find out about all of this in today's podcast.
In this difficult and disheartening times people need the Church and its leadership. But sometimes pastors and elders are busy accommodating the culture, grasping at straws like relevance rather than clinging to God's word and God's ways. Between the complications of COVID and Cultural Marxism churches are seeking the path of accommodation by not meeting and jumping on the latest bandwagon. Maybe it's time to leave for a new church. Keith and Mark discuss such possibilities. In the context of the coming persecution that seems to be on the cultural horizon you need to be part of a strong faith community that can support and grow you spiritually.
We hear a lot about microaggressions in today's highly charged climate in connection with detecting hidden racism. In today's podcast, Keith introduces the topic of microaggressions, what they are, where they came from and warns us about a growing tendency by some to "cry wolf." Overusing the term and over-diagnosing incidents of racism can actually make racism worse. How should you approach this topic? Listen and find out in this introductory discussion.
What do you say to someone who has just lost a loved one? How does a fellow believer come alongside a brother or sister in Christ in a time of tragedy? What do we do? In today's episode Keith and Mark discuss this from both a pastoral and "layperson" perspective.
Public schools have long been a time honored institution of American (and Christian) life. But things seem to be changing for the worst. Every day it seems there's a new headline about bizarre and graphic sex education curriculum. Students are being pressured to confess their whiteness and white privilege. The public education establishment and teacher's unions seem to have become militant in advancing ideas such as gender fluidity and LGBTQ ideology. In places like Santa Barbara, there are curricula that attack Christianity outright. England had its "Brexit." Should Christians engage in a 'Schexit,' abandoning the public school for alternative education options? Listen to Keith and Mark's spirited discussion (and debate)!
Today we live in an era where prominent Christians seem to “deconvert” from Christianity. That’s shocking enough but what are we to make of it when a loved one who once claimed to be a believer abandons the faith? Keith and Mark make sense of it all in episode 004 of “Keith Crosby: Out of My Mind.” Keith and Mark will discuss the following five questions: You had originally entitled today’s discussion “Deconstructing Deconversion” why the change?
How does this connect with your previous podcasts on Critical Theory and Education and Critical Theory and the Church—and the Pulpit and Politics. I sensed in a theme in Season One, does this theme continue here? What’s the connection?
Whether it’s a Rock Star Pastor like Josh Harris or the YouTube Celebrities who used to be with Campus Crusade, or CRU, or Marty Sampson, a worship music writer, singer, and active member of Hillsong has publicly denounced his faith on social media—or someone’s son or daughter or sibling or parents—or a loved one walks away, the larger questions are: What happened? What do we make of all this? Can you lose your salvation?
Are you saying that these people were not saved in the first place? Because people would say that they sure seemed saved…
What do you say to a parent or family member who’s heartbroken and bewildered by all this? Sometimes, I know from my own ministry, family was never really engaged in a student’s discipleship but other times I’ve seen it where a parent, or both parents did all they could, and their kids walk away. What’s your take on this?
Separation of church and state. We have all heard it before and have all been told that its one of the defining principles in America. Is it really? Did the original founders of our country intend to keep politics and religion separate? Should we as Christians avoid political matters and political questions? Pastor Keith Crosby takes an in-depth look at the role religion plays in politics and why as Christians we shouldn't shy away from the political conversations going on around us today.
Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality have made the leap from the secular academy to Christian Liberal Arts Colleges and Universities. Parents, students, and pastors need to beware. Keith Crosby and Student Ministries Pastor Mark Stickler discuss this important topic and its relevance to the Church and its families.
Our ministry is a privilege, given to us by God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-10). God has saved us to do the works he has called us to do. God seeks to unite, Critical Theory seeks to divide. Romans 12:14-21 give us the blueprint for how we are to treat others. Racial Profiling in the church will destroy the church.
