"Rastafari in general, especially within the LionOfJudahSociety “trod” or tradition, use the term "testify" or "to give one's testimony" to mean "the story of how one became a Rastafari (New Name: Christian)". Commonly it may refer to a specific event in a Rastafarian’s life in which they have faith that JAH has done something deemed particularly worth sharing and testifying to (as St. Peter Tosh sings in his psalm, “Testify”; Peter Tosh - Testify. I said I, I'm gonna testify, What Jah has done for I.. I said I, I'm gonna testify, What Jah has done for I.). We as Rastafari, as True Christians do, often give our testimony at their own fire baptism or at Rastafarian events. In the current age of the Internet, many Rastafari sons and daughters have also placed their testimonies on the internet in word, sound and power.
