Music is still used as a platform for the expression of freedom of speech. With freedom of speech, artists have the power to control what messages whatever obvious or subtle we receive from their music. The mass appeal and distribution of music consequently can be used to expose numerous people to acts of injustice and opinions within society today, including but not limited to: Racism, Gun Violence, War, Poverty, Women’s Rights, and LGBT Rights. The evolution of music to educate and expose society has reflected challenges and issues of the time.
