Podcast Episode #339: Takeaways from The Social Media Marketing World 2024 Experience03/26/2024Takeaways from The Social Media Marketing World 2024 Experience1. Kara Whitehouse, CEO & Founder / digit-ALL marketing services
• We need to forget about follower counts and focus on genuine and authentic connections.
• This event inspired me to embrace AI and to not let the constant evolution of AI tools and daily technology changes overwhelm me to the point I’m frozen. Pick a couple of the tools and focus on those and incorporate them into our processes.
• There are so many people in this world that want to teach and help you grow! Embrace not being an expert and constantly be open to learning and soaking in the expertise of others. 2. Daniel Perez
• At first I was overwhelmed. I definitely felt like a small fish in a huge pond when I got there. Yay for imposter syndrome! The conference boosted my confidence both personally and professionally. 3. Christina Olivarez, Founder & CEO of The Social Butterfly Gal & Hustle + Socialize
Even in a crowded online world, there are people who are YOUR PEOPLE who understand and get you, find those people. You are also never alone. 4. Michelle Micalizzi
• Kindness truly is an art form, and Social Media Marketing World serves as a magnet for these compassionate artists!
• AI, when partnered with, exponentially amplifies our creative abilities.
• Authenticity never goes out of style! 5. Amanda Wilbur
• In December, 2023 I quit my comfy government job and hung my digital shingle up to begin my entrepreneurial journey as a psychotherapist in private practice. Only I wasn’t getting any clients adding my name to therapy directories. I knew I needed something more. In comes #SMMW24. I learned more about social media marketing but even more I met like-minded people. I connected with someone who gets my brand and will help with a marketing strategy. I met people that are already successful in this genre and I have hope for the future, and lastly, I made friends with people that understand this entrepreneurial path and encourage me to keep on keeping on 6. Antionette Taylor , Marketing and Communications Coordinator / Cempa Community Care
The connections are invaluable, I’m so grateful. It was a huge relief knowing I am not the only one dealing with “imposter syndrome”. 7. Kristine Scharsch, Sales & Marketing Manager / Mills Roofing Inc
• I came to focus on two things – improving my YouTube channel and with a curiousity about AI. SMMW more than delivered on this – but the people and the networking are what made it special (including yourself!). Plus seeing and listening to the speakers was inspiring not just because of their content, but because I am also a speaker, so I was absorbing tips and best practice. Safe travels – Louise Brogan, LinkedIn with Louise – a linkedin marketing agency and consultancy.
• It was a HUGE confidence booster both personally and professionally.
• I thought I was the only struggling with the disruptions but I wasn’t alone and that was refreshing.
• The people, I made 1 friend at the pre conference meet up and I walked out with so many more. 8. Phil Mershon, Director of Experience / Social Media Examiner
It was an unforgettable experience. Making genuine connections, diving deep into new insights, and getting hands-on evaluations for my clients' work were game-changers. Can't wait to apply all I've learned and bring that SMMW energy to our social media strategies!!! Khushboo Mazhar Web Worx (Social Media Manager)
• I noticed a greater energy, stronger interest in learning, and much more intentional networking. I was deeply moved by the introverts and first time attendees who stepped up to organize meetups and Table Talks. The atmosphere felt electric with serendipitous connections and curiosity.

Be sure to listen if you want to learn how you can volunteer and attend for FREE.

Podcast Episode #333: 6 Ways for Non-Profits to Grow with Social Media Marketing 02/13/20246 Ways for Non-Profits to Grow with Social Media MarketingIf you are the founder of a non-profit or work on the marketing team of a non-profit, this episode is for you!

Today we're talking about 6 ways that a non-profit can grow and have success using social media marketing.

  1. Authentic Storytelling: Sharing the profound impacts of your work through storytelling can deeply resonate with your audience. This includes crafting authentic, compelling narratives that highlight your mission, impact, and the lives transformed through your efforts. By weaving these stories through your social media channels, you can humanize your non-profit, making your cause more relatable and support more compelling.
  2. Community Engagement and Building: Fostering a strong, interactive online community is crucial for non-profits in 2024. Focus on creating engaging content and cultivating spaces for conversation, prayer, support, and shared stories. Work to strengthen your relationship with existing supporters and also attract new followers who share your values and commitment to making a difference.
  3. Value-Driven Content Creation: Understanding the importance of operating from a foundation of biblical values, ensure that your content strategies are designed to reflect your non-profit's ethos in every post, share, and engagement. From crafting messages that echo your principles to selecting images that align with your mission, ensure that your online presence is a true extension of your organizational identity.
  4. Strategic Use of Video and Live Broadcasting: Video content, including live broadcasts, continues to be one of the most effective ways to capture attention on social media. Share behind-the-scenes looks at your projects, hosting live Q&A sessions, or sharing testimonials from those impacted by your work for maximum reach and engagement.
  5. Targeted Social Media Advertising: Leveraging social media advertising can significantly expand your reach and attract new supporters to your cause.
  6. Analytics and Impact Measurement: Understanding the effectiveness of your social media strategies is vital for continuous improvement. Make uses of your analytics to see the tangible results of your social media efforts. This not only helps in reporting back to stakeholders and supporters but also in refining strategies for even greater impact.

In today's episode, I want to talk about 4 things you can begin doing right now to stand out on social media.

These four things include :
1. Create 1 pillar piece of content per week that makes your audience smarter
2. Optimize your social platform by being consistent, responsive and engaging
3. Tag someone else of influence, or in recognition, when you’re being social
4. Have a clear call to action on how people can do business with you

Podcast Episode #299: Why Podcasters Should add Video to Their Regular Recording Routine with Ross Brand4-11-2023Why You Should Consider Video PodcastingWhether you're new to podcasting and considering starting a new show or you've been podcasting for awhile, this episode is for you.

On today's show, I'm joined by Ross Brand as he shares with us why podcasters should consider adding video alongside the audio of their podcast.

And no, it doesn't have to be any more complicated, doesn't add a lot of more time or needed equipment to make the video happen and the benefits are infinite.

Favorite Quotes from this Episode* “Video is an important part of podcasting that is too infrequently used.” * “Not everyone who might do business with you or connect with you will download an app and listen to a podcast from you. But many will come into contact with you through social media and that is where video comes in. A 30-60 second clip from your podcast episode with video and audio is a great way to introduce people to your podcast and also stop the scroll on social media.”

Podcast Episode #298: God's Plan for Living w/ Matt Tommey4-02-2023God's Plan for LivingAre you feeling disconnected between where you and the abundant life you know is possible in Christ?

In Matt's new book, God's Plan for Living, he breaks down his idea of I.D.E.A.L.

I – Identity
D – Design
E – Expansion
A – Alignment
L – Love

When you have these 5 things come together in your life, you're set up to walk in fullness.

Favorite Quotes from this Episode* ‘We must be faithful to not only steward the vision but also the journey.' * ‘We can't have 5 talent dreams with 1 talent habits.' * We must learn to walk at the pace God wants us to in our lives.' * ‘When God changes the way He provides, it does not change His promise TO provide.'

Synopsis from God's Plan for LivingMost Christians want to experience the abundant life that Jesus promised, they just don’t know how. And not for lack of trying. They love Jesus and are doing everything they know to do but feel utterly defeated and unable to connect with God’s best for their life—despite their committed hearts and best efforts. They are faithful but frustrated. Saved but not satisfied with the life they are living. Multiply that reality across the Body of Christ worldwide, along with its paralyzing impact, and I believe it’s potentially the greatest issue facing the church today.

God’s Plan for Living will give you a simple roadmap that, when followed with faith and expectation in your heart, will transform your life. Not through vague spiritual platitudes but practical instruction on how to know and faithfully pursue God’s plan for your life according to Kingdom principles found in God’s Word. No matter how God has designed and assigned you in His Kingdom, this book will enable you to live the abundant life Jesus promised right now.

The book begins with uncovering and examining “The Great Disconnect” in the lives of believers and why it’s the most pressing issue facing the church today. Next, it dives deep into five key areas called “God’s IDEAL” which is an acronym for Identity, Design, Expansion, Alignment and Love. Five precepts that, when implemented in your life, can create a roadmap for successful Kingdom living. Finally, the book concludes with tips and strategies on how to cultivate an atmosphere of ongoing breakthrough in your life.

  4. Am I actually enjoying being on Facebook for my business?
  5. Are you doing what you want others to do on Facebook?

Podcast Episode #293: A Simple 3 Part Sales Strategy that Works2-28-2023A Simple 3 Part Sales Strategy that WorksThis episode is for those who are wanting to see results in your online social media marketing efforts and the stumped in your creativity as it relates to your content creation.

In this episode I want to share with you three components that you can use in your social media posts that will help drive sales and increase growth online.

It's the hook, story, lesson strategy.

Hook : the hook is used to capture someone's attention and get them to stop scrolling. For most, this needs to happen within the first 10 words or 10 sections, depending on the type of content.

Story : This is where you say what you were talking about in the hook. The story is a chance to go beyond the superficial to build a connection with your followers

Lesson : With the lesson, you tell your followers why the story was important and what's it in for them now.

Dive in deeper to each of the three pieces of this strategy by tuning in to this episode.

Podcast Episode #292: How do Business Leaders Fill Their Cup and Find Refreshment?2-21-2023How do Business Leaders Fill Their Cup and Find Refreshment?Let's talk about how easy it is to find ourselves over-scheduled, stressed, overwhelmed and simply just trying to do too many things.

We can also find ourselves doing things that are good, fun and life-giving but isn't what God has asked us to do.

In this episode, I talk about what it looks like to intentionally fill your cup and seek refreshment as a business owner or leader. The key thing is intentionality. Not doing things because they sound good or it's what you've always done but where do your values lie and what has God asked you to put your hand to in this season.

Favorite Quotes from this EpisodeKey Takeaways* Evaluate your life for what are the good things vs. what God is asking you to do. * Don't be afraid to have the hard conversations that are going to keep you in the vein of where you need to be with your business and family.

Dr. Qubein has been the President of High Point University since 2005 after previously being a business owner. He brings incredibly wisdom and insight into what it looks like to have everything be done from a place of surrender to Jesus.

In today's episode, we talk about what faithful courage has looked like in Dr. Qubein's life, what keeps him going despite pushback from culture and/or other challenges and one piece of advice for leaders of faith in business.

Favorite Quotes from this Episode* ‘When your foundations are built upon a rock, you can make decisions very quickly.' * ‘If you take risk out of your life, you remove all opportunity as well.' * ‘Doing things differently shouldn't be the goal. The goal should be doing things better.'

Meet Dr. QubeinNido is an accomplished university president and a nationally recognized author, speaker, and leader. As a university president, the story of his tenure at High Point University is known to many. In less than a decade, he led the institution to phenomenal growth (5,000 students) and significant academic advancement, tripling its size and moving it to the number one spot among Best Colleges in the South.

Podcast Episode #289: Building Wealth to Create Opportunities to Give Back with Gretchen Heinen1-31-2023Building Wealth to Give BackBuilding generational wealth isn't something that happens randomly.

It takes time and intentional, strategic steps to see true wealth come that can be based down to your kids and onto others.

In today's episode, I'm joined by Gretchen Heinen, founder of NetWorth It, as she shares 5 things you can do to begin building generational wealth.

  1. Get rid of generational roadblocks that could potentially hold you back
  2. Believe you are actually worth it (change your mindset)
  3. Level up your relationships
  4. Have strong money wisdom
  5. Build extra streams of income

Tune in to today's episode where Gretchen expounds upon these steps.

Favorite Quotes from this Episode* You're not going to wear a $25 dress the same way you would a $400 dress. We show up differently where there is value. * Engage and be social with those you're interested in.

Key Takeaways* Many people want to serve (and that's okay), but there comes a point when you need to actually start charging your worth. By not charging, you're potentially eliminating your ability to help anyone. You need to feed your family and if your business isn't bringing in adequate income, you'll have to find money somewhere else. This will pull you away from the thing you're passionate about doing.

Meet GretchenTraci is CEO of UNcoached and Creator of CEOFlo. She is a former top leader in multiple direct sales companies. Upon seeing the value in hiring a life and leadership coach to help her create fulfillment in top business and sales positions, she hired not one but three coaches. It made such an impact on her and her team that she decided to become a coach herself and build her private practice. UNcoached is the result of having turned everything she learned on its head and finally embracing more aligned strategies to attain both success in business as well as fulfillment and flow as a mom of 4. She now takes women through a complete inner overhaul in her signature program, CEOFlo.

In this podcast episode, I mention the new name of our podcast. The Infinitely More podcast.

Not much will change concerning content here but we are continuing to evolve and grow as a business and a podcast.

What can you expect? The Infinitely More podcast will focus on 4 areas : humanizing your brand, building relationships, increasing connection and community and increasing leads and revenue.

Podcast Episode #288: The Value of Hiring Someone with Shared Values1-24-2023Hiring Someone with Shared Values : For the 6 & 7 Figure BusinessesHave you ever felt that there was a disconnect between your heart and values and those of the individuals you've hired in your business?

As Christians, this can be challenging when maybe we don't find the same things funny as others do or there are certain standards you want to do life and business by. This can be true whether you are vocal about your faith in your business or not.

So what's the value of making the intentional decision to hire someone who shares the same values as you?

It's certainly not to live your life in a vacuum and only hear the ideals you believe in.

But there is a great value to hiring someone, particularly when it comes to social media and the voice and digital face of your business, that shares the same Christian worldview as you.

There is an added understanding that there are nuances to communicating and voice that others without that same worldview wouldn't understand.

Favorite Quotes from this Episode* ‘Human to human connection is where you need to thrive with social media issues you want the impact digitally that you desire.'

Key Takeaways* If you're a Christian business owner looking to hire someone to manage your social media this year, it's worth the extra time and effort to find someone who shares the same worldviews as you do. * If you really want to thrive and excel using social media this year, human – to – human connection is where you need to put the most time and effort for the desired impact.

Podcast Episode #287: 5 Social Media Trends in 2023 – What You Need to Know01-17-20232023 Social Media Trends – What You Need to KnowSocial media is constantly evolving and changing. This can certainly feel frustrating and be a barrier to entry for people.

It can seem that just once you get something sort of figured out, it changes again.

Thankfully, there are people (such as myself) who are here to help guide you and navigate through the changes and how you can best embrace the changes to see real impact in your business.

In today's episode let's talk about 5 social media trends I see for 2023 and what you need to know about them.

  1. AI / Chat GPT : If you don't know, AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. AI is certainly not new. I remember 4 years ago attending conferences where AI was being discussed. However, there has been a lot of buzz recently with the emergence of a software called ChatGPT. ChatGPT is a free chat bot that you can use to bounce ideas off of. Many will see this AI usage as stealing your expertise and trying to take your job. BUT – if used wisely, I truly believe that you can leverage the power of this resource. It's not there to be competition but to enhance what you're already doing. I encourage you to check out ChatGPT. How can you use ChatGPT for your benefit? 2 things to consider is having it help you work out prompts for videos or content ideas. Then, you have the opportunity to insert your expertise and who you are to make it work for your business.
  2. Be excellent in humanizing your brand : This goes with #1. If we're not actively working to humanize our brand, AI will absolutely take over. You, as a human, has what a bot will never have. Emotions and feelings that can resonate with others. Use that to your advantage.
  3. Attraction Marketing : Ask yourself this, “What am I doing as a business to gain more clients and attract more people? Are you putting content out there that is share worthy? Are your marketing efforts ‘attractive' so that they draw people in?
  4. Inbound Marketing : Inbound marketing simply means that people are ‘inbounding' to you. This can look like blogs or offers on your website that will draw people back to you from social media. Do you have things out there on the internet that you can talk about and use to bring people back to you.
  5. Implement timeless strategies : Even as we see the emergence of AI and other trends, there is (and always will be) the space for us to implement timeless strategies that have worked for years to see our business grow and thrive. What do these timeless strategies look like? Serve well, have good customer service, showing up on the right platforms where your people are, having a strong business foundation that you can always come back to, etc. These, and more, will always be important and can't be overlooked as we pursue the new trends and strategies that we see.

Podcast Episode #286: Mindset Matters as You Scale Your Business with Tracy Warren1-10-2023Why Mindset Matters in Your BusinessAfter being diagnosed with Postpartum Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Tracy encountered first hand just how important our mindset is when it comes to business, family and every other area of our lives.

I loved this episode with Tracy as it really caused me to think on a deeper level as to why we can feel stuck and action steps we can take in helping achieve that mindset shift needed to accomplish big things in your business.

Favorite Quotes from this Episode* ‘People will tell me they feel stuck. Rarely are they ever stuck, they just want MORE.' * “Ask yourself two questions : ‘Who do I need to be and what do I need to believe to make my goal happen?'.” * ‘Lay down your pride about being someone who can do ‘all the things' in your business. Get good at delegating.' * ‘Make the distinction between an expense and an investment.

Key Takeaways* Mindset truly does matter when it comes to how we show up and take action within our business.

Meet TracyTraci is CEO of UNcoached and Creator of CEOFlo.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for the rollout of this new iteration of the podcast show!

Podcast Episode #284: The 5 Key Elements to Focus on in 2023: Your Marketing Business Plan12-27-20225 Elements You Need to Include in your 2023 Marketing Plan2023 is coming and almost here.

Social media and marketing your business in 2023 is almost here as well.

It can be easy to shrug it off, cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Rather, since it is inevitably coming, why not plan with intentionality and sustainability for this next year.

In today's podcast episode, let's talk about 5 key elements to include in your 2023 marketing plan :

  1. Joy – have a joy for what it is you're doing and pursuing. When you enjoy what you're doing, your marketing plan will be so much more fruitful.
  2. Focus on God's leading – we must show up in our business knowing God is in charge. Focus on what God is doing and blessing rather than expecting Him to bless what it is that you want to be doing.
  3. Intentional stillness in your work week – this can be hard but it is so important. I make the intentional space in my work week this year to listen to worship music and focus on God. It wasn't always a lot of time but I set my intention upon keeping Him at the forefront of my life.
  4. Focus on giving and receiving referrals – referrals can truly be the bread and butter of your business. Make it a point this year to focus on taking the time to give referrals, which in turn, sets you up to receive referrals as well.
  5. Go all in somewhere on social media – find ONE place where. you can give it your all. Is it Instagram Reels? TikTok? Wherever you want to be this year, find one place where you can consistently show up and give it your all.

This certainly is not a concise list of what you need to be doing in 2023, nor are these are the highest of priority when it comes to marketing your business. However, I believe these 5 things should be considered in any marketing plan as we head into 2023.

Favorite Quote from this Episode* ‘When you have a joy for what it is you're doing, your marketing plan will be so much more fruitful.”

Podcast Episode #283: Best Practices for Instagram Reels with Chelsea Peitz12-20-2022Instagram Reels : Best Practices to KnowAt this time, Instagram Reels is one of the best ways for your content to get recognized and see by other people.

Micro-video content is where it's at and seems to be here to stay (at least for the time being).

So how can you, a business owner, seize this opportunity to get your content seen (even when you don't want to be dancing)…

  1. Determine how you're going to capture attention quickly : With reels you have, at max, 1 – 2 seconds to grab someone's attention. How are you going to do it? Movement, sound, asking a question etc. Know what that attention grabber is for you.
  2. Are you forcing your watchers to consume your content in one way? : Some people choose to watch videos on social media without sound, others simply don't have the ability to watch with sound. Consider using subtitles for videos that are predominantly speaking focused.
  3. Just keep showing up : this, of course, is the reality for so many things when it comes to social media. Be willing to just keep showing up. Keep producing content. Find a niche or content type or way of showing up that is sustainable and enjoyable for you.

Favorite Quote from this Episode* ‘Views do not equal value.” * ‘Don't let the metrics steal the joy of creating. It's too easy to become so focused on what does and doesn't work that we lose the fu of simply creating what we have fun creating.'

Key Takeaways* Goal : building up a library of content so that when someone comes across your profile that is in your niche, they want to hit the follow button. * Stay in your niche. People come for a reason so don't be all over the place with the content you're creating.

Meet ChelseaChelsea is an internationally recognized real estate keynote speaker whose superpower is breaking down complex concepts into actionable, easy-to-execute social media strategies.

For over 7 years, she has taught the real estate community how to leverage social media and technology to build a powerful personal brand and develop content that generates real leads without feeling ‘salesy.’

Chelsea is a frequent industry conference presenter and podcast guest whose signature style is to share actionable insights and tactical how-to’s rather than high-level fluff. Offering digestible step- by-step plans that empower agents develop a powerful personal brand that attracts their ideal audience.

For over two years, she has been producing The Voice of Social Sales podcast and launched her first book called Talking in Pictures, one of the few books about how camera-first platforms like Snapchat changed the way we build community through screens and how we communicate out brand. Her latest book What to Post: How to Create Engaging Content That Builds Your Brand & Gets Results launched in February 2020 and is a #1 best seller in 6 different categories.

Chelsea's most important role is being mom to Mason, wife to husband Brian and rescue-dog-mama to as many chihuahuas as possible. Her favorite thing to do is wine-tasting in Napa (or anywhere with a vineyard!)

Podcast Episode #282: What if we allow God to truly Lead us in our Decision Making: God-Sized Dreams Can Happen12-13-2022God-sized Dreams can Happen to YOURecently (at the time of the original recording of this podcast in September 2021), I had received the largest paid invoice in the history of my business. I was thrilled.

But here's the thing…I often found myself struggling to believe that this kind of stuff could happen, even while I was experiencing it!

You see, prior to receiving this invoice, I was frustrated.

I had put a lot of time and effort into a specific service that I was going to offer.

It was the kind of offer that business mentors told me I should create.

But here's the thing, it simply was not converting the way that I had hoped it would.

I became hyper-focused on all that was going wrong, what I needed to shift and pivot that I was frustrated.

So I went to the numbers. And they didn't lie.

What I would was that I was on track to have the best year financially in my business that I had ever had.

But I was frustrated and felt like I was failing.

I had to get real about what was currently happening and make a decision.

So I did.

I had lunch with a friend who provided great advice and I went to God and prayed and asked him to direct my steps. And I received such clarity.

And I believe that He will do the same for you so that you can pursue the God-sized dream of building a business that allows you to have the time freedom and to be present with those in your life that you love.

My encouragement to you is to keep going, even if the journey doesn't look the way you had originally planned.

Favorite Quote from this Episode* ‘I became so focused on what wasn't working and what I needed to shift that I became frustrated and actually missed the blessing that was in that moment.”

Podcast Episode #281: We've Got Big News!12-06-2022Our podcast has been around since June 2017. 281 episodes filled with amazing guests and insights on business, marketing and being an entrepreneur following Jesus.

It's been on my heart recently that I wanted to make some changes regarding the podcast, specifically the name.

I stuck with the sweet tea theme as that is the name of my business and is, hands down, my favorite drink. (and in my humble opinion, Chick-Fil-A has the best sweet tea).

However, I was feeling that there was more for the podcast, infinitely more, if you will.

So with that, I want to introduce to you the new podcast name…

Podcast Episode #239: My Journey of Losing Nearly 200 lbs: Me vs Me 02-15-2022

My Journey of Me vs. Me In this episode I'm being vulnerable and sharing with you my journey of losing nearly 200 lbs.

In 2005, I had gastric bypass surgery and lost 186 lbs.

Now you may be asking – Heather, what does this have to do with business, social media or marketing?

Here's what I would tell you… I wanted more. I knew there was more for me – both then and now as I pursue greater things with my health. When I had surgery all those years ago, I had many people who questioned my decisions, but what I've learned along the journey is that it is always me vs. me. It was me, showing up and stepping outside of my comfort zone. It was me choosing to not live in that place but to push for the greater things.

I want you to know that if you find yourself in a place of wanting more – in business, in your personal life, wherever – You. Can. Do. It.

Podcast Episode #237: Knowing Your Zone of Genius Will Transform Your Year on Social Media 02-01-2022

Leaning into Your Genius Zone this Year Do you know what your zone of genius is? Are you operating in that space in your business?

I'm sure there are things you are doing that you might be really good at that aren't what you truly thrive in.

So…if you feel like you're doing it all in your business or it feels your offerings are all over the place and it feels hard to settle on that one thing you're going to focus on, I want you to do this one thing. Sit down and pray. Ask God for clarity. Have a brainstorming session and write down the things you love doing and are passionate about and the things you're good at.

Then look it. Maybe there's one thing or 50 things on that list. Pray over that list and ask God what He wants you to lean into and boldly show up with. Be still.

I promise that when you find what that zone of genius, everything becomes a lot easier – your messaging, your offers, hiring people, etc.

You got this.

Podcast Episode #235: Where Are Your Receipts? 4 Tips to Leveraging Social Media Marketing for Business Growth 01-18-2022

Leveraging Social Media for Business Growth I'm a firm believer that where your receipts are, there your attention lies. What do I mean by that? Well, where you spend your time, money and efforts (receipts) is where your attention is focused the most.

I ask you to consider if your ‘receipts' are focused in the right directions for business growth this year.

Here are four things to consider:

  1. Focus – Where are you efforts regarding social media? Get REALLY clear on what you're going after. This is key to avoiding Shiny Object Syndrome that pulls you from your ‘why' (see tip #4).
  2. Consistency – I know this one sounds cliche and said too many times but without I don't believe you will see the growth you desire to see. Consistency is key to remaining relevant and staying top of mind to those who may be in need of what you offer.
  3. Know your goals – before you can create social media / marketing goals, you need business goals. You can't create a good social media strategy without first knowing what you're wanting to accomplish in your business. Don't forget to write them down!
  4. Remember your why – when you remember your why it diminishes all the other noise and helps guide you when there are setbacks.

Podcast Episode #232: 7 Mistakes to Stop Making ASAP on Instagram 12-28-2021

Instagram Mistakes to Stop Making in 2022 If Instagram is on your radar for leveraging in your marketing in 2022, this podcast episode is for you.

In my experience, we can become so focused on the deeper marketing strategies that we often overlook the EASY things we can do (and stop doing) right now that can have an impact on our social media efforts.

Here are seven mistakes you can stop making RIGHT NOW on Instagram that will have a dramatic effect on your Instagram presence:

Mistake #1 : Don't like 50 posts at one time on someone's page, particularly if you're new to that person. A general rule of thumb is to avoid any thing that could feel creepy or crazy on the internet. This would be one of those things.

What to do instead : Engage but don't spam. Let all your engagement be genuine. Consider the phrase, ‘Slow and steady wins the race.' This is a great approach rather than mass amounts at one time.

Mistake #2 : Having information missing from your bio. Ask yourself this: ‘Does my bio easily tell others what I do?'. If the answer is no, go fix it right now. This is the EASIEST but often most overlooked way for people to know who you are, what you do and make a decision on whether or not to follow you.

What to do instead : have information in your bio that tells people who you are, what you do and how they can find out more about you

Mistake #3 : Not having a good profile picture. You do not need to have an over-the-top professional picture but if you're picture doesn't accurately represent who you are or what your business does, this could turn people away by causing confusion.

What to do instead : ensure your profile picture accurately represents your brand. If you are your brand, make sure your photo has good lighting and showcases who you are. Please do not have an image that is blurry.

Mistake #4 : Focusing only on the news feed. This is so 2014. In 2022, there are many other features to Instagram where you could find increased engagement that you would be missing out on if you were to only be focusing on the news feed.

What to do instead : consider utilizing Stories, Reels, IG Live and DMS to engage with your audience

Mistake #5 : Prioritizing esthetic over content subject. I'm here to tell you that your Instagram account does not need to look like it came out of Vogue magazine.

What to do instead : Focus your efforts on the depth of content rather than what looks pretty

Mistake #6 : Lack of excellent value

What to do instead : Show up with content that makes your audience smarter. Let them know you have something to say that will benefit them.

Mistake #7 : Making every post about you

What do to instead : Have your content be focused on your audience being better equipped to know what to do, not only focused on you.

I'm a stronger believer in, ‘When you know better, do better.'. So let this podcast episode serve as a you knowing better how to utilize Instagram in 2022.

Podcast Episode #228: 5 Mindset Shifts to have a 6-Figure Year in 2022 11-30-2021

Six Figure Mindset Shifts Needed for 2022 When it comes to having a business and creating wealth and income within Christian circles, I find that people can question your motives – think that you're only in it for the money – or that you used a ‘get rich' sales and marketing scheme. I have you ever heard that or even FELT that in conversations?

While I'm sure that kind of thing is out there, I believe that you can show up as a successful business owner and create generational wealth that will allow you and your family to be blessed and to be a blessing to others for years to come.

I'm looking forward to 2022 and all the opportunities that are in store for myself and for you. If you're wanting to hit that six figure income level in 2022, here are 5 mindset shifts that I have had to make over the years that, along with God's grace and favor, have helped me get to the $100,000+ level in my business.

5 Mindset Shifts Needed to have a 6-Figure Business : * Shift #1 : You must know your expertise and zone of genius + In order to hit the 6-figure level, you cannot be all over the place with your offerings. Find the things you're good and and stick with them. That doesn't mean you can't change and add things over time but if you have too many products or services it can leave your customer confused and a confused mind never buys. It can also leave your mind pulled in too many directions that you're unable to fully develop and have your offerings be as excellent as they could be. * Shift #2 : Know that it is ACTUALLY possible for you to make six figures + Know that in your mind and in your heart. I love what Shae Bynes says about Kingdom Math. With the Lord we're able to do so much more, we first need to believe that it's even possible. * Shift #3 : Walk it out every day, all year long + Please don't show up on December 3 and wonder how you're going to make $100,000 before the end of the year. Generating wealth in business takes time and consistency over periods of time. Remind yourself of that when you're walking it out each day. * Shift #4 : Invite people to be a part of your offering + This might seem too simple but if people don't know what you have to offer, how will they possibly buy? And if they're not buying, how are you possibly going to make $100,000? * Shift #5 : Stop pandering + Boldly show up and decide that you're going to stop worrying about what every single person on your news feed thinks about what you're doing. Trust the Lord that when you show up as yourself and with the gifts and talents He has given you that you will stand out to the people you're supposed to connect with.

Sooo, are you ready for this to be a year of increase for you? If you found these tips helpful, would you let me know? I'd love to hear from you! Send me an email and let me know what you're doing in 2022 to create generational wealth in your business.
