This question goes out to my service industry colleagues, who is taking care of us during this pandemic? I have been hearing from my friends and colleagues in the restaurant/service industry on how this domestic and global pandemic is affecting us and our community. I know that every business is being affected. I also know being in the restaurant business for more than 20+ years that the restaurant industry will suffer the repercussions the most. I am not exaggerating either people, Restaurants are closed, perishable have perished. Small restaurant owners, waiters, bartenders, maitre’ds, food runners, bussers, all of the BOH are unemployed right now and are freaking out. Where will next month’s rent, mortgage, car payment.. etc come from? We in the industry are self quarantined and most of us are without health insurance. I want to hear from my friends and colleagues, our voices must be heard. What is the federal government going to do for us in need, right now? Once this pandemic passes, will we be able to return to business as usual? I need to talk about this, I want to hear what your thoughts, ideas, solutions are?
