In this episode I want to talk about lessons I learned as I launched a new YouTube Channel.
Lessons:
-Instead of feeling overwhelmed by what you are doing, decide to double down. Do more, not less.
-Don’t worry about results in the short-term. Focus on Synergy
-Do not despise the day of small beginnings.
-Do what you want to do and you won’t feel like you are working is a lie, but that is OK.
-Experiment: See how long it takes you to do something new
-Find the upper limits of your capability if you want to be successful in life.
-Your first efforts will be your worst efforts
-There is only so much time in the day, and something will have to give. That is OK.
-Don’t worry about success, at least not at first. Look for the trends.
-Do something meaningful. Motivation leads to sustainability.

By the way, you should know that the Russians passed a law penalizing the intentional spread of “fake news” with up to 15 years in prison. I have been watching what has been going on in Ukraine and trying to understand it. I think I have a good grasp of the situation, including Putin’s motivation for invading the Ukraine. Is Putin crazy? I think there is more to the story. He is not nuts. Is he trying to reestablish the Soviet Union? Not exactly. Putin thinks differently. Once you understand him, you will understand his actions.
In this episode, I will review his speech of 24 February, 2022. It gives us great insight into his state of mind.

I don’t know much about Bitcoin, and I am not sure that Mr. Goxx does either, but he has made 19.41% trading cryptocurrency and I am going to tell you how. I will explain how he did it. It is a strategy you can replicate, but you need to understand the risks. At any rate, I am confident that this is not a strategy you have considered before.

I am ignorant about country music, but during a recent trip to Nashville, I had the chance to visit both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry. In this episode I want to talk about what happened on the 4th of July—why it matters. It is not an irrelevant event or a holiday of the oppressor, but the key event that undermined the evils of slavery. It enabled the civil rights movement (MLK drew upon it for authority), and if we apply it, it can help us fix what ails us today.

Enrique is a former CEO of a publicly traded company. He made some unethical choices as CEO and served time in prison. While in prison, he talked to other inmates to understand how they thought about what they did and he found that it mirrored his experience. In this episode, I interview the author of one of the best books I have read on leadership—EVER. I am so enamored with this book that I require it in my first class on leadership in the masters program at Charleston Southern where I am a professor.
The book is profound because Scott has done the hard work of really thinking deeply about a theology of leadership. What does the concept of a biblical steward mean in relation to leadership? This thinking has impacted my life and the lives of my students in deep and amazing ways.

I am again talking to Ty Coleman. Ty is a good friend. We attend church together. He was on the last episode where he provided his top 10 reasons that people are denied a loan. Then he explained what he can see in the paperwork—how he can predict success or failure in life beyond the mortgage.
In this episode, Ty puts his credit counselor hat back on. He was a credit counselor before he became a mortgage broker. He made a bold claim that if ANYONE just does what he says, he can get them into a home within one year. He tells us exactly what needs to be done in exactly the order in which it needs to be done. In this episode, I want to tell you a story. The story comes from Rob O’Neill’s book, The Operator. O’Neill is the Navy SEAL who pulled the trigger and killed Osama Bin Laden. The story is from his memoir.
The story is not about killing Bin Laden. However, it is one of the best examples of thinking outside the box that I have ever come across and I am going to share that here.

In this episode, I review a number of quotes by W. Clement Stone. Stone was an incredibly successful businessman, and a disciple of Napoleon Hill. His advice on success is useful to this day.
Here are the quotes I will review. I unpack them in this episode:
“All personal achievement starts in the mind of the individual. Your personal achievement starts in your mind. The first step is to know exactly what your problem, goal or desire is.”
When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it.”

Unity? What is it? How do we gain unity? President Biden made a call for unity at the inauguration. He said, “
“We must end this uncivil war that pits red against blue, rural versus urban, conservative versus liberal. We can do this if we open our souls instead of hardening our hearts — if we show a little tolerance and humility, and if we're willing to stand in the other person's shoes.”
But the politicians who talk the most about unity are often the worst role models—and it seems the more zealous their followers, the more damage that they tend to do.
However, there is one group of people who can teach us a great deal about how to unify. These people actively build bridges instead of call names. I will talk about them and draw lessons from their activities that can help us gain the unity we seek.

It seems that the world is unhinged. Half of the country seems to be living in a parallel universe (and they think the same thing about your half). It is easy to disagree, and it feels like it is becoming easier to be disagreeable. How do you disagree respectfully? How do you disagree productively? How do you disagree politely? Last Wednesday the world watched in disbelief as Trump supporters, perhaps mixed with agitators, desecrated the Capitol Building. The new media has flashed these images relentlessly. The Left is outraged, but the Right is too. There is near-universal condemnation for what happened.
In the wake of these events, Pelosi and Schumer are calling on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment. They are formulating new articles of impeachment. Twitter cut off the leader of the free world—FOR LIFE.
In this episode, I will do my best to unpack these events and analyze them through the lens of leadership. I will do my best to see through both sides, and I will give you my analysis of what happened, what is happening right now, and what is likely to happen in the future.

I recently began a new segment entitled Notable Quotables.
I review the best quotes of one particular leader and I unpack the very best of what that leader has to say (99% lean beef; 1% fat).
The first episode covered leadership quotes by Jim Rohn. If you are unfamiliar with Jim Rohn, he is the father of the self-help motivational speaker circuit. Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, and Darren Hardy all attribute a good deal of their success to Jim Rohn.
Rohn passed away in 2009. In the episode, I talked with an old friend who is as close to a Jim Rohn expert as anyone out there. I brought him back to talk about Rohn’s primary topic—success. It is a great conversation. It is a very profitable conversation. It will change the way you think about being successful.
