Alex Bucko believes in the old saying “you are what you eat." After being diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 22, she found herself on a new path in life. While this was a scary and heartbreaking time, Alex found a sense of relief finally knowing why she had been sick for so many years, thus giving her a starting point for her healing to begin. But when the conventional treatments of western medicine did not work for Alex, she started searching elsewhere for the answer. Trying out a more holistic approach, Alex discovered that food could be her medicine.

Alex Bucko is a nutritional therapist focusing on mediating the symptoms of chronic illness within her practice. She believes that a shift towards ancestral nutrition and lifestyle could help to lessen the prevalence of modern diseases that have become overly common today such as cancer, diabetes, and autoimmunity.

Alex got her start in nutritional therapy after her own struggle with autoimmunity forced her to leave her first career and embark on her journey for self-healing. After being increasingly sick for over ten years, she had had enough. Alex was able to overcome her multiple autoimmune conditions without a long list of pharmaceuticals, and now sits comfortably in remission after making diet and lifestyle changes.

Today Alex and I dig deep into the food we eat and its relationship to our health. We talk about getting back to the way we evolved to eat through seasonal and ancestral eating, the domestication of crops and the evolution of the food industry as a whole, and how our gut health is vitally connected to our overall health and wellbeing.

Gabrielle Ortega believes self care is more than the luxurious treatments of face masks and spa days. It includes your spiritual care, mental health, and setting boundaries.

Gabrielle is the Owner and Founder of OM Therapy Coaching, a conscious life coaching business that aims to help people decode their minds, heal from past wounds, discover their power, and break through to live their ideal lives.

Formerly a trauma-oriented psychotherapist, Gabrielle integrates the Western sciences of Psychology and Neurobiology with ancient Eastern philosophies and practices, to create customized programs that focus on whole-person healing and wellness.

Gabrielle is currently working on her doctorate in clinical psychology at Pacifica University, where she is studying the neurological effects of meditation on trauma survivors. She also sees 1:1 clients virtually from her home in Los Angeles, California. She has been featured on podcasts like "She Did It!" with Sydney Nanberg, and is a current featured speaker for the "Authentically You Leadership" show with Tia Christiansen. Gabrielle will also be launching her first 12-week group coaching program in January 2020, Rebirth, where she will be guiding small groups of women through their own self-awakening journeys!

Gabrielle is considered one of the leaders of the new mental health paradigm, and looks forward to changing the way the world approaches emotional and mental wellness.

Today, Gabrielle and I dig deep into how we can become the biggest, baddest version of ourselves, the self awareness it takes to get there, and the importance of being radically honest. We have to own how we are showing up in our life and take ownership of the ways in which we may contribute to both our pleasure and our pain.

Let’s dig in.

Thank you so much for joining me today! I love Gabrielle’s reminder to have compassion and to forgive ourselves on our journey. We did the best we could with the knowledge and awareness that we had at the time of past events. Forgiveness and self awareness are where it is at.

Tiffany Cruikshank is a woman of many talents in the world of wellness. As a trouble maker in her early teens, she struggled to find purpose and meaning in her life. During that time, Tiffany discovered yoga and met an herbalist at a wilderness camp who would take her on plant walks, where she fell in love with learning how to use the environment around us to heal.

Tiffany is the founder of Yoga Medicine, a community of teachers focused on fusing anatomy & western medicine with traditional yoga practices to serve the medical communities. She’s trained thousands of teachers around the world, has graced the cover of over 15 magazines, is a regularly featured expert in many major media outlets, the author of 2 books and has over 150 classes on various topics on YogaGlo.com. With her background in Acupuncture, Sports Medicine and Women’s Health, Tiffany has worked with professional athletes & celebrities, run her own clinics, and created & ran the Acupuncture program at Nike WHQ in addition to teaching yoga there. Tiffany also founded & runs 2 nonprofits, one conducts research on yoga’s therapeutic benefits and the other supports a shelter for women rescued from trafficking in Delhi, India.

Today Tiffany and I discuss Chinese Medicine, the idea of bringing the whole person into balance to allow the body to be more resilient, and how yoga can be a great tool for teens as well as adults to combat stress and support both our mental health and our hormones.

Thank you so much for joining me today! I loved Tiffany’s suggestion to become the observer and to befriend our thoughts and judgments. By making peace with the layer of ourselves that judges everything, and empathizing with ourselves first, it makes it easier for us to empathize with the world around us.

They’re intent on bringing you all the essential love skills you need while having loads of fun along the way. Learning doesn’t have to be lame. In fact, when it comes to learning skills for love, dating and partnership, having fun and enjoying the process only make it stick faster and more efficiently. Their mission is to honour the sacred spaces of healing, repair and old hurts while also knowing when humour, lightness and open-hearted fun are needed.

Today Jamie, Kelsey, and I dig deep into what makes a great love relationship work, and how to create one through intention, self-awareness, and open communication. We talk about understanding our triggers and how to work through them, the the benefit of finding someone who is willing to do the work with you, and how to own the ways that you contribute to the relationship, whether good or bad.

Thank you for joining me today! I loved this conversation so much. I could talk about love forever. I love Jamie and Kelsey’s advice to seek for wholeness over happiness, and to meet ourselves fully within so that we may embrace the magical connection to the world around us. Remembering that self-acceptance breeds so much power, and the most valuable thing we own is our story.

Guy Golan, Ph.D. is an executive coach who specializes in empowering clients from the highly demanding fields of medicine, tech, finance and law. He also specializes in coaching the spouses of high achieving professionals who are often the unsung heroes of their spouses' highly demanding careers.

Guy and I talk about the clash of identity and success in life and career. He shares that high achievers may not be able to reprogram their vision of success, but can instead create a sustainable home life through reprioritization. Guy shares the importance of quality over quantity in personal time spent and asks his clients “What are you doing when you are available?” and “What kind of energy are you bringing to the family when you have time with them?”

The #1 dynamic Guy experiences with his clients is strained relationships with their partners. He talks about the unique dynamic of the supporting spouse who has many time seen their own careers and dreams suffer, their needs being unmet, faded identity, and a feeling of disempowerment.

Guy argues that who you marry has everything to do with who you become. Your financial future, mental well being, physical health and who your children become is dependent upon who you select to live life alongside you.

Then we nerd out on the science of identities.

Guy Golan has published more than 45 peer reviewed journal articles in the field of media and social psychology. His research was cited nearly 4,000 times in peer reviewed academic journals. Applying research findings to the real world, Golan has been quoted in the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Bloomberg News and Slate Magazine.

Thank you so much for joining today. I absolutely 100% adore the notion that your partner is the power player in your life and to those singles out there worried about clocks… I hope you find some relief in the idea that you find the best person for you, not to fit someone else’s timeline.

Amanda Herlihy spent nearly a decade in finance, but after the financial crisis, began to feel a pull in a completely different direction. She put herself through night school and began moonlighting as a massage therapist. Though she’d laid the groundwork for a massive shift, it was a single day when she was both laid off and found out she was pregnant with her first child that her path was forever altered.

Amanda spent the following six years immersed in the birth world. From carrying and birthing her own three children, to supporting other women and families as a birth doula, and body and energy worker. She now empowers others to seek alignment with their soul’s purpose by illustrating the power of asking the right questions and deconstructing beliefs and paradigms which no longer serve this new alignment.  She is walking this path right along with those she serves, this is why she calls herself a "ReBirth Ally."

Amanda Herlihy is the creator and host of the podcast “Freedom Journey” on Apple and Spotify, and most recently the host and creator of the virtual summit entitled “The ReBirth Of Women: Together We Rise” which spans the varying aspects of the transformations women often face throughout motherhood.

Amanda lives in Chicago, IL with her devoted partner Josh and their three beautiful children.

Today Amanda and I talk about Motherhood and the reasons why it can shake us to our core, how children are mirrors, and why they have such a profound ability to ask the right questions that cause us to really disassemble our belief structures.  We also discuss what it's been like jumping into something totally new as she reacquaints herself with her gifts.

Let’s dig in.

Thank you for joining me today! I love Amanda’s journey to a path of soul and purpose. She was truly inspired by listening to her own internal call to heal, and then transitioned to the role of supporting women as they become mothers. I appreciate her reminder for us to fill our cup first, so we can serve others.

Lisa Pongrass had the “dream life”… A big beautiful home, cars, boats, and a perfect marriage with a fantastic husband.  All of that came crashing down after the Great Financial Crisis of 2008, forcing them to sell everything, but also inspiring “Chapter 2." Lisa shares with us the struggles she faced after leaving Australia for a fresh start in NYC, and how she went from "1950’s housewife" to a self-reliant entrepreneur.

Dr. Christine Schaffner is an advocate for health and wellness. She digs deeper where conventional medicine might fall short or tell you “it’s all in your head," and believes in getting to the root cause of why people are sick. Her desire is to expand the conversation of health and wellness to include biophysics and accelerated healing through the electromagnetic field which has led her to co-create the Body Electric Summit: Energy, Frequency, and Vibrational Healing.

Dr. Christine Schaffner is a board certified Naturopathic physician who graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Prior to Bastyr, she completed her undergraduate studies in Pre-medicine and Psychology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Dr. Schaffner is passionate about practicing medicine and creating healing spaces. She is the Clinic Director of Sophia Health Institute; the clinic she co-created with her mentor Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt in Woodinville, Washington. She actively sees patients at Sophia Health Institute and through her practices Marin Naturopathic Medicine in California, as well as Bella Fiore Organic Med Spa & Klinik in Seattle, Washington.  With her diverse skill set, Dr. Schaffner seeks to improve access, outcomes, and speed of recovery for patients struggling with chronic illness wherever they may be.

Today Dr. Schaffner and I discuss the importance of being your own health advocate, the link chronic illness and auto-immune disorders may have to GMO and pesticides in our food supply and stress in our lives. She also shares with us the vital connection a healthy immune system has to a healthy functioning gut.

Let’s dig in.

Thank you for joining me today! I love Dr. Schaffner’s simple steps to advocate for your health by starting with your environment at home through clean air, clean food, and clean water.

Crystal Escobar has spent the last decade learning who she is as a mother, a wife, friend, blogger, woman and Mormon. After much time soul searching she has realized that in her journey to becoming authentically herself, the religion of her childhood no longer resonates with who she has become. Crystal discusses her transition of faith, the announcement that lost her thousands of followers, and the surprise that was her husband’s own decision to leave the church at the same time.

Crystal is the author of My Life As A Wannabe Balanced Mom, the host of the Wannabe Balanced podcast.

Crystal and I talk about the cultural and social implications of leaving the faith of your family and what it means to live your own truth. We dig into the emotional fallout when you lose your religion, the fear-based search for the “absolute truth,” and how to approach faith conversations with your children when you are still trying to understand your own.

I love Crystal’s vulnerability and reminder to be open to all things.

Amy Taylor-Kabbaz studies the profound new concept, “Matrescence,” that has been researched by Columbia University and covered by psychologists worldwide. She truly believes that we should support mothers so they understand the transition between lives when becoming a mother.

After more than a decade covering breaking news and current affairs for the ABC around her home country of Australia, her “traditional” career took an unexpected turn when she found herself lost, overwhelmed and diagnosed with a thyroid condition after the birth of her first daughter. She is now the author of the bestselling Happy Mama: The Guide To Find Yourself, the host of the The Happy Mama Movement podcast, runs numerous online programs for mothers all over the world, is an international award-winning coach, the creator of the #1 iTunes meditations for children Bedtime Explorers, and is currently working on her next two books, to be published by Hay House international.

Amy take us through her journey from self to mother, and then the work born from the struggle to find identity within her new role. We talk about society’s expectations of womanhood and motherhood, and the perceived failures if your birth story or identity doesn’t fall in line with those notions. She encourages us to lean into our transition so as not to become overwhelmed or burnt out trying to fit into a box that isn’t meant for us.

I love Amy’s reminder that matrescence continues as you grow as a mother and woman. She offers us the opportunity to see ourselves born as Oracles and wise woman because of our new lens and love her gorgeous path to healing and honoring the mother.

Megan Accardo was running events for the biggest talent agency in the world, Creative Artists Agency. She had her dream job, working directly with A-list celebrities, throwing swanky Oscars parties, traveling around the world, and "in the room" with the most well-known business leaders. At the top of her game, she was also dealing with burnout and struggling with infertility. Holding it together through adrenaline and caffeine, she finally realized she wasn’t living out her true potential.

Megan and I discuss the hard decision to leave a comfortable job to find your passion, the death of identity, and the birth of impact.

Megan Accardo created the platform and podcast “Power Your Purpose,” to empower women to step into their true purpose and potential in life. She hosts events and experiences around the globe to bring women together in a meaningful way for greater impact.

Megan digs into the transition between lives, the messy start that is so important, and the difference between those on the sidelines and those in the arena. She gives us some practical tips for productivity and throws the term “multi-tasking” under the bus. She encourages us to focus on those things that truly matter in order to be more effective.

I love Megan’s advice to focusing on our future self as we think through our goals and plan out our next steps.

Everyone in Ruthie Arumala’s life knew she was going to be a doctor. Except Ruthie. She had a ton of big ideas about fashion, interior design and being a physician to the stars, until her brother’s untimely death and a trip to Botswana where she got first hand experience with women’s global health. After understanding how cervical cancer changed a woman’s life, body and personal identity, she knew she found her calling. Ruthie details her grief after her brother’s death and how empathy has changed her as a person and a physician.

We talk about a women’s relationship with her doctor, what women still don’t know about their bodies and her awareness that we manage sex through fear in most cultures. She also discusses sexual assault from the perspective of a physician and a woman’s rights advocate.

Dr. Ruthie O. Arumala, is a Georgetown University trained Ob/Gyn with a passion to discuss health in way that is accessible to every woman. The sole OBGYN at Texas Hugley Medical Associates in Mansfield, Texas, she takes care of a range of OBGYN concerns but specializes in care for PCOS, fibroids and infertility. Dr. Ruthie is also the host of the Pretty + Pink Podcast in order to empower women to make better decisions when it comes to their personal health and wellbeing.

Dr. Arumala also digs into the importance of modeling behavior and how her mother became her mentor.  There is no “do as I say, not as I do.” She talks about choosing your mentors, curating your own social media experiences, and why it is important to “shoot your shot,” when asking someone to mentor you.

I love Dr. Arumala’s encouragement to “move, girl” and that - nothing is that serious.

Ashley Callen believes you have to leave good to get to great, but it wasn’t an easy road. In 2014 she tested positive for the BRCA 1 gene mutation, most commonly known as the breast cancer gene. Directly after choosing to have a preventative double mastectomy, something she calls both the hardest and easiest decision she’s ever made, her husband Dave was severely injured in a helicopter crash which left him with a broken back and a collapsed lung. While the parents of toddlers healed - Ashley preparing for reconstructive surgery and Dave in physical therapy - they also realized they were just surviving, in all ways, and life is too short to settle for “good.”

Ashley and I talk about the emotional fallout of removing her breasts and what she saw as the sign of her femininity, the power of the family she has found within Police Wives of America, and the tough work Dave and Ashley had to face in order to strengthen their marriage after difficulty.

We get deep in relationships and talk about communication, compassion and hard conversations. Ashley also shares the rough spaces she and Dave navigated that then put them in the spotlight as national speakers for Bless the Badge Law Enforcement conferences and became the foundation of the book they are co-writing that drops later this year.

Let’s dig in.

Thank you for joining us today. I love how deep Ashley went with me in talking about the importance of communication and how conflict is many times the door you need to enter to take your relationship from good to great.

Sydney talks about the benefits of intuitive eating and how we’ve learned to ignore our body’s own brilliance.

Vitale Buford is a self-professed expert in numbing behavior. From a complicated relationship with achievement and perfectionism, to a long-term relationship with Adderall, Vitale looked to things to heal the wounds she hadn’t yet met head on. At the height of her addiction she began to doctor shop, and once she kicked Adderall and alcohol, she then found herself dealing with an eating disorder.

Vitale had a moment of clarity, and began a deep process of understanding her triggers, healing her past trauma and learned to overcome the compensating tools she utilized to deal with life.

Now sober for five years, Vitale is an executive coach, speaker, host of the Fresh Eyes podcast, and author of the upcoming book Addicted to Perfect. Aside from a professional coaching certification through iPEC and 10+ years of corporate experience and coaching, Vitale has a superpower for helping stuck individuals and companies take action through learning one necessary, fundamental truth – They’re worth it. She has infused her professional education with her personal experience of overcoming a 10-year addiction to create a unique coaching system. She has a very specific process she takes clients through that involves Awareness, Perspective, and Action.

I am so appreciative of Vitale’s vulnerability, will never forget her reminder that your life unfolds in proportion to the amount of scary shit you are willing to do. I love her desire to use her pain for purpose.

As the Adult Child of an Alcoholic, I hope to reach the hearts of those who deal with addiction or love addicts. We need to talk about these things and if you are finding yourself within Vitale’s words, or hiding within your pain, reach out to someone. Tell them about this episode and how it made you feel.

Rabbi Jacob Rupp is the most woke Orthodox Rabbi I’ve ever met and this conversation is next level amazing. We talk about the fundamental need to ask yourself what it is you want in life, to understand what excites you, and why you should follow your own heart, not the guidelines man provides. He also reminds us that many times religious concept has been lost behind the human and to go back to the fundamentals, not the one who has framed it for you.

We walk through the unwinding of belief systems, turning them from parent-formed to a personal relationship with your Higher Power, be that God, Universe, Allah, etc. Rabbi Rupp reminds us that God desires a broken heart and is bigger than petty human emotions. Then he quotes Tupac.

Rabbi Jacob Rupp grew up in a spiritually ambiguous home with a loving, but highly dysfunctional dynamic, and a desire to help others. He realized he wanted to become a spiritual teacher before he truly understood Judaism.

Rabbi Jacob Rupp is a rabbi, coach, syndicated columnist, podcast host of Lift Your Legacy, speaker, and business strategist. He helps clients achieve clarity on goals and strategies, become honest and forgiving with themselves and others, and live more spiritually connected lives. He does one-on-one performance and marriage counseling, group coaching, and is a keynote speaker. Rupp draws from the gamut of cutting edge business, relationship, and leadership strategy and roots them in ancient Jewish tradition.

Rabbi Rupp has been happily married for over a decade, has four children, lost over 100 lbs., and built his own business, Lift Your Legacy. He helps those who are driven and spiritually seeking to obtain access to the tools they need to live purpose-driven lives. He also started and grew a social media marketing platform, focusing on helping workers who wish to identify and create alternative income streams and communicate their messages out to a wider audience through the medium of podcasting.

Rabbi Rupp holds two BA’s, one from the University of California, San Diego and the other from Ohr LaGolah Hertz Institute for International Teacher Training, and was ordained by the former head rabbinic judge in Jerusalem. He is an avid reader and is continually engaged in the study of Torah, leadership, psychology and related fields.

I LOVE this conversation and reminder that sometimes the way we understand the world around us, faith and path, is through a very narrow lens. Get clear on what you want in life and be open to what comes next.

Norma Bastidas is a single-mother, a survivor of sexual violence and human trafficking. An ultra athlete, she broke the Guinness World Record for Longest Triathlon after swimming, biking, and running 3,762 miles from Cancun, Mexico to Washington, D.C., a known human trafficking route. She views athletic feats as metaphors for the incredible trials faced every day by the survivors of sexual violence. Norma's mission is to educate and empower, demonstrating to the world that one's past does not dictate one's future, and prove that everyday people are capable of making extraordinary strides in the fight against the problems facing the world today.

Norma talks about her son, who lost his vision very quickly due to a degenerative disease, facing her past, and advocating for self and others through running. We also dig into mental health and why it is so important that we normalize the conversation around mental illness diagnosis, end the stigma and unfortunate labels.

The woman is strength, grit and determination. I love her reminder that no matter how tough things get.. it will be ok and that you are not your circumstances. Your identity is not what happened to you.

You can join Norma and I live at EmpowerCon at the LA Convention Center on August 31st. Information is on IG @empowercon2019 and don't forget to follow Norma on IG @ultrarunwild.

Lauren Zoeller and I both whole-heartedly believe in the alchemy of active choice orientation, but to get there we have to recognize our own victim/blame mentality. Lauren shares how she got out of her own way, but only once she realized that she was ostracizing those she loved by her own “this is happening to me” internal dialogue. She thought everyone was against her and soon realized she was the common denominator.

Lauren’s own story of overcoming diagnosed depression and anxiety through natural solutions after life crisis has led her to advocate for a non pharmaceutical approach to life. She is now the President and CEO of Lauren Zoeller Coaching, as well as the founder and host of The Balanced Boss Podcast. A show that interviews high achievers who are following their dreams and staying healthy in the process. Lauren has been featured in international publications such as Prevention, Shape, Business Insider, Total Beauty, Thrive Global, Goalcast, Money Inc., Healthline, Greatist and more.

Lauren Zoeller is a CTA certified Life Management Coach, Wellness Expert, Motivational Speaker and podcast host . She has achieved overwhelming success in helping burned out, high achievers shift their viewpoint and find an alternative approach to crisis management. Lauren is the creator of the Four Step Transformational Process™, a cutting edge coaching system that elicits lasting change to overcome burnout and avoid a misdiagnosed clinical disorder.

Lauren digs into the awareness required to dig into your relationship with victim/blame, vulnerability and whether or not you find yourself consistently complaining. Leveling up requires deep self awareness and the ownership of your own “stuff.”

Lauren lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her sweet Persian cat, Ellie and teaches yoga at multiple studios in the Nashville area. When she is not teaching or coaching, you can find her traveling, speaking and leading workshops to promote her ultimate message of living a healthy, unmedicated life.

I love Lauren’s outlook and the way she helps us understand our relationship with ourselves, those we love and her admonition that we “feel the feelings.” Never forget that your connection to others will always be more important than the grind and the goals. Thanks Lauren for the reminder that there is no space for fear to live when we are guided from a place of love.

You can connect with Lauren on her website www.laurenzoeller.com, on Instagram @laurenzoeller, and on Facebook at facebook.com/lzoeller

Josh Dittmer is the host of The Live More, Regret Less podcast and I’ve been so fortunate to find him in my podcasting journey. We had an incredible conversation on his podcast about the duality of femininity v masculinity and I finally found a guy who could talk the importance of rites of passage and how we view boys. Josh digs into the natural initiation he went through that moved him from boy to man, the emotional wounds he dealt with head on, and the desire to learn from elders. We talk physicality meets emotion and a desire to grow into yourself. He harnesses his incredible energy and the own deep work he’s done and coaches men on the transition from boyhood to manhood, influence, success, direction, self reliance and responsibility for your own reality. He is my new favorite Aussie.I love Josh’s very clear direction, “Boys need roles models to show us how to be men. We learn through experience and we learn through guidance.” I appreciate his emotional honesty and the space he takes up in the world. Josh, you have a voice and a platform that is very needed. She spent the last year of her life on a mission to bring awareness and conversation to this issue as a proud advocate. Finding Perspective with Aalia Lanius

Aalia Lanius is a hard woman to describe and in the best way possible. It was tough to decide what subject to cover in our time together on Gold and you will see why. What came of our time together was the theme of perspective in all manner of ways. She is a 3x cancer survivor, writes books to change minds and hearts and lives with chronic illness and a resiliency that is unwavering and inspirational.

Aalia is the founder of Unsugarcoated Media, an American novelist, business leadership coach, inspirational speaker and advocate. As an American Muslim with a German and Mediterranean background, Aalia is fully aware of the conflicting psyche living in America.  Her first novel, Tough Love, in 2018, began a journey of authoring fiction that strikes at social issues. In it she shatters the belief that women should sacrifice themselves for love, and hits on an undercurrent of domestic violence. In her second novel, Jugend, she felt pulled to empower under-represented groups in society by directly challenging hateful rhetoric and racism through a beautiful story of two men throughout time.

Aalia resides with her husband, Hollywood Film Attorney and Executive Producer, Joseph Lanius, and is a mother of four.

I can’t even tell you how valuable this conversation is to me personally. Aalia is all heart and I am thrilled she is on this earth to share her story and her call to find perspective in all things.

You can find Aalia on IG @aalia_unsugarcoated or her website unsugarcoatedmedia.com

Lisa Chastain had to rewrite her “money story” and change her limiting beliefs surrounding money. It changed her life. She recounts the day she tearfully realized money coaching for millennial women was her calling. Lisa shares with us the bullet points of “adulting” when it comes to money, debt, savings and throws the dirty word “budget” out the window. She advises, instead, to “Design Your Life.”

Lisa has been coaching, mentoring and advising millennials for nearly 20 years. Her company, Millennial Consulting LLC inspires women to be the boss of their finances and lives by teaching and mentoring them on control of money, living purposefully and loving their lives. Her #1 Bestselling book Girl, Get Your $hit Together, teaches millennial women how to own their history with more so they can boss up and own their futures.

Lisa was recently featured on CNBC, O - Oprah Magazine, Fortune and Entrepreneur magazines and was one of Las Vegas Women Magazine’s People To Watch in 2018.

Lisa’s advice is brilliant in its simplicity. It’s a whole lot of accountability and the brave act of removing your blinders, love. Get clear on what you have, what you want, and you can move financial mountains. I’ll never forget her charge, “I want everyone to wake up and love your life, but you have to know what that life costs you.”

Gina Bennett takes the scare out of national security and approaches it as a woman and mother. She talks resiliency, how women experience personal security differently from men and the importance of including girls in our conversations about security.

Gina is a member of the CIA’s Senior Analytic Service, and long-standing member of the Senior Analytic Service currently on assignment as the Senior Counterterorrism Advisor in the Directorate of Strategic Operational Planning in the National Counterterrorism Center. She is a seasoned counterterrorism specialist who authored the earliest warnings of some of today's terrorism trends, including the 1993 report that warned of the growing danger of Osama Bin Laden and the extremist movement he was fomenting. We talk about her shift into national security and what I’m calling her sixth sense when it comes to the insightfulness of her work over decades.

Gina was featured in the 2015 Showtime documentary, Spymasters, the HBO documentary, Manhunt, and in the PBS documentary, Makers: Women Who Make America in their episode on women in war for her role as a trailblazing woman in the counterterrorism field. She has been featured in the cover story of Newsweek’s issue on “Women in CIA” in 2016 and in a previous Newsweek article for her role as a female pioneer in the targeting; and in a variety of media for her book, National Security Mom. Gina teaches ethics in intelligence as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University in the Security Studies Program of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and at the George Washington University in the International Policy and Practice program at the Elliot School of International Affairs. She is also a founding board member of Girl Security, an educational program to familiarize elementary-to-high school girls in national and international security issues. She is a single mom of five children.

Lacey Johnson lost her mother, her grandmother and two aunts in one terrible tragedy when she was six years old. She shares the path of a child navigating grief, her anger at having been abandoned by the women in her life and how she disavowed her femininity. It was as she became a mom that she unpacked all of her grief, layers of shame, old beliefs, and finally allowed herself to embrace what she calls her most divine assignment.

Lacey is an award-winning editor, essayist and journalist who earned her degree in media studies from Belmont University in 2011. She has worked with a broad range of celebrities and entrepreneurs — including fashion icon Betsey Johnson, spiritual guru Deepak Chopra, and Shark Tank's Daymond John, just to name a few. She is Founding Editor of The Wonder Report, Editor-in-Chief for The Connect magazine, and her work can be read in a variety of print and digital media sources including Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Woman’s Day, Mirabella, PopSugar, and others. She is also deep in the process of co-authoring her first book, which is a gutsy exploration of the illusions of fame, power and success, told through narratives involving some of the people the world most idolizes.

In this episode Lacey encourages people to delve into radical honesty and leave behind the masks of perfection we put on in order to survive. She also shares that holding on to old beliefs blocks us from the things we truly want in life and argues for the deep work we all must do to free ourselves. She ends the episode by sharing her advice to her younger self and dropped some serious gold nuggets.

Dominique Gonçalves is a Mozambican ecologist focused on elephant conservation in Gorongosa National Park and a National Geographic Fellow. Her interest in biodiversity protection and human population increase inspired her to earn her MSC in Conservation Biology and now start a PhD in Biodiversity Management at Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at University of Kent. Dominique and I talked about the restoration of Gorongosa National Park after war, the loss of over a million Mozambicans and the decimation of many animals and land. She gets very personal about her own experience pursuing education when there weren’t always shoes or food to support her education. Yet, she is using her experience and education to build her community and ensure that the young girls outside of the park are not victims of child marriage. Dominique currently serves as Manager of the Elephant Ecology Project where she investigates elephant movement and range expansion in relation to habitat use and Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC). Working with law enforcement and sustainable development colleagues, Dominique hopes to build coexistence between communities and wildlife throughout the buffer-zone surrounding the park. In addition to this, Dominique works closely with park Girls’ Club programs; she is a passionate advocate for girls education to prevent early marriage.

Alexis Michaud spent the better part of two decades as a tax and corporate law attorney. She most recently held the title of Deputy General Counsel for a large company she took public, and then promptly left. She went from inking deals on private jets to creating her own real estate and design practice as a newly minted entrepreneur. It was her father's stay in the ICU for 30 days that created a shift within that snapped her from long days, long nights, working weekends, skipping vacations for nearly a decade, taking 3 days off after the birth of her daughter via section to a moment of being DONE, "If not now, then when?" Alexis flipped her steady path and hard earned career on its head, took 6 weeks off with her family, and decided it's never too late to design a life you love.  She's now an entrepreneur, Realtor, community enthusiast and is not looking back.  She's coming home and living a life of purpose, passion, and is the driver of her one wild and crazy life. Alexis and I talk about the scary steps between lives, what the word HOME means to us, supportive friendships, and how the sidelines are the place your soul goes to die. Alexis is soulful and determined. You are going to love her. Follow Alexis on IG at @pineappleandpinecones.

I just returned from a life-changing trip to Tanzania where I traveled amongst lions, zebras, wildebeest. I am still unpacking all of the lessons that a fully immersive trip serves up, but was struck by two very specific moments; one on the Serengeti and again during my time on what felt like the edge of the earth wading into the Indian Ocean off the coast of Zanzibar. You cannot leave Africa unchanged and I wanted to pop on and share the biggest lessons I am taking with me while they're still fresh in mind (and heart). I will share stories about the beauty of the people of East Africa, a heart of service and the difference between support and dependency.

Today I am joined by Dan Mason. Dan is a nationally recognized career and life transition coach and host of the Apple #1 debut podcast, Life Amplified. His work has been featured at the Huffington Post, The Good Men Project, and the Nationally syndicated Elvis Duran Morning Show. Dan has helped clients in 13 countries discover their calling, leave their soul-crushing corporate jobs, and create careers that are meaningful to their bank account AND the world at large. Dan and I dig into what he calls the “Fresh Hell” of a Monday morning in a soul sucking career and why it is important to know who you truly are and what desires are just outside that 9 to 5. We talk identity, titles, the reassessment of comfort zones and the death of the old school “American Dream.” I love this conversation because Dan has successfully moved his clients from muted dreams into actionable next steps after he, himself, left a big deal job in radio to create his own life of service. I love the way Dan pulls together research and soul. It is so important that we understand why we are chasing money over dreams, whether that is a passed down generational message or if it is time to lean into that secret passion.

Dr. Mel was in Las Vegas so we sat down in the sound studios at The Space LV to talk relationships in all their forms - partners, family or friends. We dug deep into conflict and intimacy, hashed out the difference between emotional vulnerability v emotional availability and talked love, significance and security. Dr. Mel shared her thoughts on relationships where one partner is growing and the other is not and we agreed purposeful relationships are where it is at.
