A podcast about underwater photography, diving and adventure travel hosted by Todd Reimer and Dalton Hamm. As the podcast grows, we are hoping to have discussions with some of the most interesting folks in the industry. We will also give tips to those starting out, talk about our favorite places to travel and dive, and do photo critiques. But as we divers like to do, we also will talk shop with friends and trade fun stories with our community. We hope to make this an interactive community, so please send us your question and comments of what you would like to hear on future episodes.
Taryn and Logan have given up traditional living and are working on realizing their dreams of sailing around the world from their home base in Canada. They have been documenting their trials, tribulations and triumphs on their fantastic YouTube channel, called "The Wayward Life".
In this episode, we talk to them from their newest boat, Papa Rumba about what it has taken to get to this point in their sailing adventure, their plans for the future and so much more. Of course talk about diving and photography along the way, and even get to meet their doggie crew member, Max.
So, put on your captains hat, practice tying some knots while you listen to 2 of the nicest folks you've ever met explain how adventurous life is like out on the high seas!

Ronan Debelius was the cruise director of the prestigious Coralia Liveaboard in Indonesia when Todd met him last year. Ever since we started this podcast, we wanted to have Ronan on to chat to share his experiences.
Ronan was born in Germany, but his mom is Indonesian. A desire to get in touch with his roots, and strong family ties to the dive industry lead him to work all over Indonesia at some of the most prestigious dive operations all over the country for the past 7 years.
In today's episode, we chat about everything from what it is like to be one of the youngest cruise directors in Indonesia, to how COVID has impacted the dive operators and staff, and much more! Of course Ronan shares some of his favorite places to dive and answers the 'Dive Brief' questionnaire too.
Check out the YouTube version of the interview here!

Like many of us divers, Francesca Trotman grew up with a love of sharks. Unlike most of us, she parlayed her passion into a marine biology degree from Southampton University and then established a non-profit in Mozambique, called “Love The Oceans” with the goal of establishing a marine protected area in the province where she resides.
However, when you listen to the podcast episode, you will hear there are so many other amazing programs that she is also running that benefits the local community and the environment.
Francesca is also a fellow underwater photographer, so we also spend time talking about her photography journey, and ask her for tips on where to dive in Africa.
We recommend using the Overcast podcast player so you can see Francesca's photos as they are discussed. Otherwise, see her pictures in our show notes.

Split shots (or 'Over / Under' shots) are some of the most iconic underwater images out there. Most underwater photographers strive to have these shots in their portfolio, but realize that getting a good shot is easier said than done.
In this episode, Dalton gives his 5 tips for getting great split shots, which will help you get out there and get your own amazing image.
Dalton also recently released a YouTube video that goes in depth on one of the tips (keeping your dome spot and streak free). Check it out here!
(Main Topic Starts at around 22:00)
We also chat about what we've been up to (electric mountain biking) and what we've been watching (Eco Challenge Fiji: The Worlds Toughest Race on Amazon Prime).
In our getting started in underwater photography series, Todd and Dalton debate about whether newer underwater photographers should start out shooting with a wide angle camera setup or concentrate on macro instead. Each discipline has its benefits and drawbacks. Have a listen to Todd and Dalton's debate and let us know where you stand on the topic.
