3 The Holy Spirit is present

● John14:15IfyouloveMe,keepMy

commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 2

● John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. 12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

● Jude1:20Butyou,beloved,buildingyourselvesup on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit

● Rom8:26LikewisetheSpiritalsohelpsinour weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Pastor Jeremy | BFBC-Glendive | SundayThe Barna study on the state of church/religion in this
next generation.
● Church, marriage, family, & truth are all on the
chopping block.
● Today we are fed this “do what you want” agenda
that is opposite christianity’s assignment of
denying yourself & serving others.
1 Thes 2:13 For this reason we also thank God without
ceasing, because when you received the word of God
which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word
of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also
effectively works in you who believe.
● They heard the Word - selective hearing or paying
attention
● They received the Word - daydreaming or meditating
● They welcomed the Word - critical Carl or faith
● They became imitators of the Word - doer or hearer
only
● The Word began to work in their lives.
○ It became operative, productive, functioning
○ (TPT) And the word continues to be an
energizing force in you who believe.Rom 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD
shall be saved.”14 How then shall they call on Him in
whom they have not believed? And how shall they
believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how
shall they hear without a preacher?
● Preach the Word
● Hear the Word
● Believe in Him
● Call on Him
● You’re saved!

Parable of the Sower Matt 13
● The sower and the seed in this story are both
consistent.
● The variable in the production is the soil.
Family: Eph 6:1, Col 3:20, Prov 22:6
Marriage: Gen 2, Eph 5, 1 Peter 3

Introvert - Extrovert

● Gen 2:18 It is not good that man should be alone
● Luke 5:16 Jesus often withdrew into the wilderness
and prayed.

There is a time to gather, connect, and encourage one
another.
There is a time to find a solitary place, separate, and be
alone w/ the Lord.

When searching for direction:
● Mark 1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long
while before daylight, He went out and departed
to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And
Simon and those who were with Him searched for
Him. 37 When they found Him, they said to Him,
“Everyone is looking for You.” 38 But He said to
them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may
preach there also, because for this purpose I have
come forth.”When making big decisions:
● Luke 6:12 Now it came to pass in those days that
He went out to the mountain to pray, and
continued all night in prayer to God. 13 And when
it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and
from them He chose twelve whom He also named
apostles.

During demanding seasons:
● Matt 4, Mark 1, & Luke 4 Jesus fasted and prayed
for 40 days before overcoming temptation.
When missing someone or grieving:
● Matt 14:13 When Jesus heard it, He departed from
there by boat to a deserted place by Himself
● Matt 14:23 And when He had sent the multitudes
away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to
pray.

When committing to the call of God for your life:
● Luke 22:39 Prayer in the garden
What to do during my “alone time”
● Pray - communication w/ the Lord
● Meditate - Renew you mind - Think about the Lord
● Fast - Exercise control over your body

Pastor David continues his series, The Open Hand Of God, Wednesday in Dickinson.

“This is the year of the Open Hand of God. In the midst of more chaos and disorder, I will

open my hand and freely give to those who refuse to be shaken by it.” Psalms 145:15-16 (NKJV) The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them

their food in due season. [16] You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every

living thing. 1. Momentum:

a. 1 Samuel 17:1-11, 26, 41-50

i. The Israelites saw the giant (vs. 1-11), David saw his God (vs. 26, 41-50)

ii. The facts the Israelites saw:

  1. Goliath was 9 ft tall

  2. If the philistine army was a modern army, Goliath would’ve

been a navy seal: he was a champion fighter from his young

age

  1. His coat of bronze scales (like a fish) weighed around 125

pounds

  1. He had a bronze helmet

  2. He had a bronze javelin strapped in between his shoulder

blades

  1. He had an iron spear, which had a head that alone weighed 15

pounds! What the Israelites heard:

  1. Twice a day for forty days, Goliath would come out and curse

the armies of the Living God What David heard:

  1. Goliath laughed at him; mocked him; told him he was a child,

and that he would kill him. David said,

  1. I come to you in a Name greater than any other name!

  2. He spoke directly against what Goliath said, saying “God will

deliver you into my hands, and I will strike you down and

remove your head from you.” David knew that you cannot

defeat a voice with a thought: you have to speak to it!! David knew:

  1. It wasn’t him being taunted, it was God. He knew he didn’t fight

alone! (verse 37)

  1. Psalm 18:1-2,28-42 b. 1 Samuel 17:49-54 The Israelites had momentum!!! And they chased the

Philistines approximately 3-4 miles

c. Isaiah 9:6-7 “His ruling authority will grow, and there'll be no limits to the

wholeness he brings.” (MSG) “His government and peace will have unlimited

growth.” (GW)

God’s kingdom (His dominion and rule and authority) is expanding and

cannot be stopped! (Matthew 16:18-19)

d. Isaiah 14:27 God is talking about judgment against Assyria, but the same is

true for His covenant people. No one can turn back His hand of blessings

toward His people! All the plans that God has cannot be frustrated! He

always makes His plans come to pass!!

i. Ephesians 1:11 (NKJV) In Him also we have obtained an inheritance,

being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all

things according to the counsel of His will, e. Isaiah 44:1-5 God’s blessing and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit cannot and

will not be stopped! Example: Trees (especially in ND) grow mainly by the water.

It’s easy to tell where a river or a creek is because of the trees that are growing

around it! They cannot be stopped, they grow so well and fast 2. What Causes Momentum?

a. John 2:1-8 DIVINE ACCELERATION Making wine in Jesus’ day took between 4-

5 days. This was not just a miracle of creation but also a miracle of

acceleration. God is accelerating things! There’s work to be done, a harvest to

get in!

i. Pastor John & Sharon Bendixen | 4.28 - 5.2.17 | “The Bump Up”

Everything is going to be bumped up, made larger, greater, more

numerous. Everything increasing now, intensifying. God is going to

complete everything & release everything now. He is even going to

bring things that are not here, here! EVERYTHING necessary to

complete his [Pastor Larry]…

What used to take 10 years, will take one. What used to take 20 years,

will take two.

HIS MARVELOUS/MIRACULOUS HELP CAN BE EXPECTED

ii. Jeremiah 1:12 There’s a harvest to get in!

iii. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus is the same!!! b. Psalm 67:5-6 PRAISE

c. Revelation 12:1 STANDING ON THE WORD OF GOD

d. Acts 2:1 UNITY IN THE BODY

i. Vision brings unity. We have a vision from God: to Reveal a Friend to

ND and MT e. #1: WHEN WE MOVE WITH THE HOLY GHOST, MOMENTUM BEGINS. YOU

CANNOT STOP A MOVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT! THE DEVIL TRYIING TO STOP A

MOVE OF THE HOLY GHOST IS LIKE AN ANT TRYING TO STOP A FREIGHT

TRAIN. IT DOESN’T WORK!

i. Romans 8:11 The devil couldn’t keep Jesus down! The Holy Spirit

raised Him from the dead!

ii. Acts 2:1-4, 14-21, 41-47 The devil couldn’t silence the Holy Spirit

moving in the early church!!!!

iii. Acts 4:31 The Holy Spirit gives boldness!

iv. Acts 9:31 The Church continued to increase, regardless of their

situation around them!

v. John 7:38 We have the same Holy Spirit living in us, flowing through

us! 3. Expect suddenlies!

a. Jesus’ coming will be a suddenly: Mark 13:35-36

b. Oaul experienced a suddenly on the way to Damascus: Acts 9:3

c. In the prison: Acts 16:26

d. Ezekiel 37:3-10 (vs. 7) SUDDENLY! The Bones came together suddenly!

i. Job 36:32 Expect the lightnings of God!

ii. Luke 11:2 God is moving in Dickinson, in this region, and in this

nation. We will see this nation return to the Lord, starting right here in

Dickinson, and in ND and MT! We are establishing HIS kingdom on the

earth! “Happy (blessed) are the people whose God is the LORD!” -

Psalm 144:15

Pastor Jeremy continues his series on the Blue Light Special of Faith on Sunday in Glendive.

Heb 11:1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things not seen.

New Century Version: Faith means being sure of the

things we hope for and knowing that something is real

even if we do not see it.

New Living Translation: Faith shows the reality of what

we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

Passion Translation: Now faith brings our hopes into

reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire

the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to

prove what is still unseen.

The Voice: Faith is the assurance of things you have

hoped for, the absolute conviction that there are

realities you’ve never seen.

The Difference between Faith and Hope

  1. Faith is present tense

a. Now faith is, or you might say it this way faith

is NOW!

b. Salvation is now, present tense

c. Faith believes that it receives now, today, not

tomorrow.

d. Mark 11:24 faith believes that it

receives...now!!

e. Mark 5:25-32 Woman w/ issue of blood, your

faith has made you well

f. Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bart, your faith has

made you well

g. Mark 2 “5 guys” when He saw their

faith...they weren’t getting their miracle

tomorrow, they were gonna get that thing

TODAY!

  1. Hope is future tense

a. We have the hope of heaven, you’re not

going there yet, but you will in the future.

b. The return of Jesus is a hope that is in our

future. It’s going to happen, but not now.

c. The rapture is a hope that is in our future. It

is going to happen, but not now.

d. The resurrection of the dead in Christ is a

hope that we have, a promise in the Word,

but you cannot believe that you receive by

faith today...this will happen but it will

happen in the future.

e. 1 Thes 4:13-18 But I do not want you to be

ignorant, brethren, concerning those who

have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others

who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that

Jesus died and rose again, even so God will

bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15

For this we say to you by the word of the

Lord, that we who are alive and remain until

the coming of the Lord will by no means

precede those who are asleep. 16 For the

Lord Himself will descend from heaven with

a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and

with the trumpet of God. And the dead in

Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive

and remain shall be caught up together with

them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the

air. And thus we shall always be with the

Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with

these words.

f. Hope is a good Waiter, but a poor Receiver

Faith responds to the Word of God. Responding to the Word leads to blessing. It's far better to respond and be in the will of God, then to reject and be out of the will of God. Hebrews 11:1

  • Faith is evidence that PROVES what is not seen.

Hebrews 11:6 Genesis 12:1-4

  • God told Abraham to do something. Something unfamiliar and uncomfortable. And Abraham did it!

Hebrews 11:8-10

  • Abrahm was motivated by faith.

James 1:22-25

  • Responding to the Lord is what caused blessing. Just hearing and waiting produces nothing.

Hebrews 11:32-35

  • These people saw quick victories in their life, but victories aren't always quick. What are we going to do when the victories aren't quick? Will we stay the course or give up?

Hebrews 10:35

  • Hold fast to your confidence in God. Hold fast to your faith in God and what He told you.
    • Hebrews 11:35
      • Faith enabled them to endure.
      • 1 Timothy 2:3-4
  • Hebrews 11:35-40
    • These people lived by faith no matter what came their way.
      • Hebrews 12:2-4
        • Look away from the natural and focus on Jesus. The One who birthed faith in us. He is our example and the One who motivated your faith in the first place!

1 Thessalonians 5:24

  • God is faithful, and He will do what He says.

Genesis 37:1-8

  • Joseph was a man that had a dream from God and endured many years and many trails before it came to pass. But he stayed faithful and saw the promise.

Hebrews 11:22

  • The faith that Joseph lived by inspired him to see the future and prophesy the exodus of Israel from Egypt.
    • Joseph's faith affected generations.
  • Your faith matters. What you believe matters. What you DO with what you believe matters.
  • Faith will motivate you. Faith will enable you to endure. Faith will strengthen you.
  • DON'T GIVE UP!

When Things are in their proper place and functioning as they should it allows for more productivity.

  • Easier on the eyes
  • Easier on the Pocket books
  • Easier on the family unit

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:14-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“I know that whatever God does, It shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, And nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him. That which is has already been, And what is to be has already been; And God requires an account of what is past.”

I Corinthians‬ ‭12:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭7:20-24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

:17 “But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches.”

:20-24

‭‭“Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called. Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned about it; but if you can be made free, rather use it. For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ’s slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called.

  1. Easier on the Pocket Book: When we are positioned, even what we already had coming in will become more effective, it’ll last longer than expected and stretch farther than it should.
  2. ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:1-2, 4-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
  3. “These are the words of the covenant which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which He made with them in Horeb. Now Moses called all Israel and said to them: “You have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land— Yet the Lord has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this very day. And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or similar drink, that you may know that I am the Lord your God. And when you came to this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we conquered them. We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh. Therefore keep the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.”

    1. The positions He places before us are not given lightly. In fact it is a covenant matter. To be in position is to be standing in a covenant place that His blood cleanses, a place that His healing flows, a place that His provision is seen. These men and women were only partially obedient. After disobeying, they saw some of the benefit of being in covenant but not all.
    2. They didn’t give themselves wholly to His will.
    3. 1 Kings 10:1-13 Queen of Sheba Brings goods to Solomon…

When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Lord, she came to test Solomon with hard questions. 2 Arriving at Jerusalem with a very great caravan—with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones—she came to Solomon and talked with him about all that she had on her mind. 3 Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her.4 When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built, 5 the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at[a] the temple of the Lord, she was overwhelmed.

6 She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true. 7 But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard. 8 How happy your people must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! 9 Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the Lord’s eternal love for Israel, he has made you king to maintain justice and righteousness.”

10 And she gave the king 120 talents[b] of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

11 (Hiram’s ships brought gold from Ophir; and from there they brought great cargoes of almugwood[c] and precious stones.12 The king used the almugwood to make supports[d] for the temple of the Lord and for the royal palace, and to make harps and lyres for the musicians. So much almugwood has never been imported or seen since that day.)

13 King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for, besides what he had given her out of his royal bounty. Then she left and returned with her retinue to her own country.

  1. Proverbs 1:33 But the one who always listens to me will live undisturbed in a heavenly peace. Free from fear, confident and courageous, that one will rest unafraid and sheltered from the storms of life.”

    1. When our confidence remains in His instruction, we will marvel at the provision and care He gives.
    2. 2 Corinthians 9: abundance for every good work…

Rom. 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing

by the word of God.

Heb. 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please

Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is,

and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek

Him.

● If God demands us to have faith when it is

impossible for us to have faith, then we have the

right to challenge His justice.

BUT, if He places within our hands the means faith can

be produced, then the responsibility falls on us whether

or not we have faith.

The Message: The fundamental fact of existence is that

this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under

everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle

on what we can’t see.

Different types of faith:

  1. Natural Faith (Human Faith): This type of belief

comes from the physical realm. You perceive

information and experience in this realm via your

5 physical senses.

a. This type of faith is something you can touch,

see, smell, taste, or hear.

b. Thomas faith: sight, and experience will

make decisions in this arena.

c. This type of faith won’t believe until it sees.

Until the symptoms are gone, until the

marriage improves, until their kids serve the

Lord, until the need is met.

d. The Israelites on their way to the promised

land. We don’t have anything to drink, we are

going to die. We don’t have anything to eat,

we are going to die, we can’t overcome these

giants, we are going to die. 2. Mental Ascent (Soulish Faith): This type of belief

comes from the soulish realm, your intellect, your

will, and your emotions. You perceive information

and experience in this realm through your mind.

a. This type of faith is something that “makes

sense” to you.

b. Pro’s, con’s, opinions, emotions, & your will

(opinion) make decisions in this arena.

c. This type of faith needs everything in the

mental arena to line up or make sense. This

type of faith needs everything to be figured

out.

d. Genesis Chapter 16 Hagar and Ishmael.

Sarah wasn’t having any luck with this whole

kid thing, so she figured why not give my

maid to my husband so that we might have

kids that way. 3. Spiritual Faith (Bible Faith, Heart Faith): This type

of belief comes from the Word of God. You

perceive information and experience in this realm

by your spirit.

a. This type of faith, this lifestyle, walking by

faith is not based on physical senses, seeing,

knowing, experience, emotions, intellect, but

it is based on the Word of God.

b. The Word of God, the inward witness, the

inward voice (still small voice), the voice of

the Lord & revelation knowledge are used to

gather information and make decisions in

this realm.

c. Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he

was called to go out to the place which he

would receive as an inheritance. And he went

out, not knowing where he was going.

i. Gen 12:1 Now the Lord had said to

Abram: “Get out of your country, From

your family And from your father’s

house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I

will make you a great nation; I will bless

you And make your name great; And

you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless

those who bless you, And I will curse

him who curses you; And in you all the

families of the earth shall be blessed.” 4

So Abram departed as the Lord had

spoken to him...

What is the VISION of BFBC: “Revealing a Friend" to this REGION

  • This is our “MISSION STATEMENT” BFBC: is a Church as a Force mentality - The church is PEOPLE - who are equipped TO SERVE kingdom purposes
  • When the SAINTS start doing the ministry, they get excited, and the church truly becomes A FORCE for God in the world.

Isaiah 54:3 [KJV] "For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited." * *Break: to burst out, spread abroad, compel, disperse, and grow * Forth:to show lineage + Psalm 71:18 [NLT]* Now that I am OLD and GRAY, do not abandon me, O God.Let ME proclaim your power to this NEW generation, your mighty miracles to ALL who COME AFTER me.

Matt 9:35-36 [NKJV] "Then Jesus WENT about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd." * One of the things that MOTIVATED and STIRRED the heart of compassion in my dad was while driving at night … he would look out and see a “YARD LIGHT” * JESUS saw the multitudes … and it “MOVED” Him to action + It’s PEOPLE … that’s why BFBC continues to grow – change – enlarge the place of our tent(s) * Isaiah 54:2 [NIV] Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.

Without a vision … we struggle With a vision … we flourish - we achieve success, and fulfill our God-given ASSIGNMENTS It takes OPERATING IN FAITH for a VISION to come to pass Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [TPT] Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. Vance Havner said, “The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps – we must step up the stairs.” * James 2:26 [GW] A body that doesn’t breathe is dead. In the same way faith that does NOTHING is dead.

Mark 9:23 [NLT] “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible IF a person believes.” We are to HEAR THE PROPHETIC WORD – CATCH THE VISION OF IT – SEE IT THROUGH THE EYE OF FAITH – REFUSE TO GIVE UP until it comes to pass Genesis 15:5-6 Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” 6 And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. * It became REAL to him

Proverbs 2:2 [TPT] So TRAIN your heart to listen when I speak … * VISION comes when HE SPEAKS

Proverbs 4:21 [TPT] Fill your THOUGHTS with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. * This is keeping THE VISION in front of you

4 Then my father taught me, saying, “Never forget my words. [GW Translation: “Cling to my words wholeheartedly”] IF you do everything that I teach you, you will reign in life.” * Reign: dominating power or influence - to have control, rule, or influence of any kind – possessing royal AUTHORITY

Josh Pennington said, “It is one thing to see a vision. It’s another thing to be seized by a vision.” * Seized: take hold of suddenly and FORCIBLY

Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled

at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that

followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great

faith, not even in Israel!” 10 And those who were sent,

returning to the house, found the servant well who had

been sick.

● The centurion didn’t need Jesus to come to his

house...he knew who Jesus was, His ability, His

authority, His will regarding the matter at

hand...the centurion needed just the word...or the

command.

Heb. 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please

Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is,

and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek

Him.

● If God demands us to have faith when it is

impossible for us to have faith, then we have the

right to challenge His justice.

● BUT, if He places within our hands the means faith

can be produced, then the responsibility falls on

us whether or not we have faith. Rom. 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing

by the word of God.

● God has told us it is impossible to be pleasing to

Him w/o faith.

● He has also told us how we can get faith.

● If we don’t have faith, God is not to blame.

Example: Salvation

Rom. 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you,

in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of

faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your

mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God

has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For

with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and

with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will

not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction

between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is

rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on

the name of the Lord shall be saved.” 14 How then shall

they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And

how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not

heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15

And how shall they preach unless they are sent?

  1. Faith for salvation comes by hearing, and hearing

by the Word of God

  1. Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through

faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of

God.

  1. Acts 10&11 Conrelius and his house hear the

gospel, believe, are saved and filled w/ the Spirit

  1. Acts 8 Phillip sent by angel to preach gospel to

Etheopian, who hears the word, believes, and calls

on the Name of the Lord.

Example Healing

Acts 14:8-10 And in Lystra a certain man without

strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his

mother’s womb, who had never walked. 9 This man

heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and

seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10 said with a

loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he

leaped and walked.

  1. We see here that faith for healing comes the same

way as faith for salvation.

  1. This man was not healed by a gift of the Spirit, or

by Paul’s faith, or because Paul was an apostle.

  1. Paul did 3 things.

a. Preached the gospel

b. Perceived the man had faith to be healed

c. Gave the command to rise up and walk

  1. The man did 3 things

a. He heard Paul preach the gospel

b. He had faith to be healed. You could say it

this way he believed the message that Paul

was preaching.

c. He responded to the Word, being a doer, and

rose up and walked.

Habakuk 2:2 … “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may RUN who reads it.

Mac Hammond said, “There’s something quite supernatural about writing your vision down. - I’m not

talking about writing it down and putting it in a file cabinet somewhere and never looking at it again.

You write it down so you can read it, so you can speak it. The Holy Ghost will help you add to it. It’ll

become clearer with each passing day.”

One of the things that MOTIVATED and STIRRED the heart of compassion in my dad was

while driving at night … he would look out and see a “YARD LIGHT”

JESUS saw the multitudes … and it “MOVED” Him to action

It’s PEOPLE … that’s why BFBC continues to grow – change – enlarge the place of our

tent(s)

Isaiah 54:2 [NIV] Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold

‭‭

I Corinthians‬ ‭12:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.”

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭7:20-24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

:17 “But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches.”

‭‭

Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called.”

  1. Easier on the Eyes: When I’m in the proper place I have eyes that see, Clarity of Vision-Not clouded with grief.

    1. Prophets: were also called seer’s(in other words the Lord anointed them to see what others couldn’t)

      1. ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭9:8-11, 19-20‬ ‭NKJV‬
      2. :8-11 “And the servant answered Saul again and said, “Look, I have here at hand one-fourth of a shekel of silver. I will give that to the man of God, to tell us our way.” (Formerly in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he spoke thus: “Come, let us go to the seer”; for he who is now called a prophet was formerly called a seer.) Then Saul said to his servant, “Well said; come, let us go.” So they went to the city where the man of God was. As they went up the hill to the city, they met some young women going out to draw water, and said to them, “Is the seer here?
      3. 17-20 ” Samuel answered Saul and said, “I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you shall eat with me today; and tomorrow I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart. But as for your donkeys that were lost three days ago, do not be anxious about them, for they have been found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on you and on all your father’s house?””

        1. Even today we must remember that God gave gifts to the body to bring edification, exhortation, and comfort. Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Paster, and Teacher. (Eph. 4)

          1. We must expect to receive from these gifts otherwise we will be short-sighted (We’ll only see and be concerned with our own matters) 4. ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭4:1-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
        2. (We must demand the blinders to be removed that have been placed upon those that we come in contact with(family, friends, coworkers), and that the revelation light of the Word would produce a continual change in them.)

  1. Blessing and Favor: (Psalm 145:16 [AMPC])
    1. The Open Hand of God always denotes blessing and favor. Blessing, and favor

      1. Blessing:

        1. Genesis 12:1-2 (AMPC)

Now [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage ] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]. 2. Galatians 3:14 (NKJV) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

        * The Open Hand of God brings blessing and favor. We are blessed with the blessing of Abraham!

        1. Abraham was blessed with abundance in his relationship with God, in his family, in his possessions, and through all of these three things, the entire world was blessed because of Him.

          • We are blessed for two reasons:

            1. 1 Timothy 6:17 So we can enjoy what God has given us

              • 1 Timothy 6:17 (NKJV) Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 2. 1 Timothy 6:18-19 So we can be a blessing to others

              • 1 Timothy 6:18-19 (NKJV) Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, [19] storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 4. “Blesssing” is from the word “Eulogia” (where we get our word “Eulogy.” it means “Good speaking… invocation of good” (Mounce). You could say, “A good word.” It also means “ “Of God: 4a) to cause to prosper, to make happy, to bestow blessings on 4b) favoured of God, blessed” (Thayer) 5. 2 Corinthians 13:1 The Word must have a witness! You cannot stand on the Word without it bearing witness within you

          • Bear witness:

Romans 8:16 The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God

1 John 5:7 The Father, the Word, and the Spirit. They are in perfect unity, and they must agree! * 2 Corinthians 4:13 we believe, and belief always has a voice. Use your voice of faith! * Romans 10:9 No matter the promise, no matter the surety, no matter the debt that was paid in full, if we believe but do not confess. Every word from God, every blessing that He speaks, every promise, MUST be spoken by both you and God in order for it to be established in your life. What you speak, you establish!

2 Corinthians 13:1 (NKJV) This will be the third time I am coming to you. "BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY WORD SHALL BE ESTABLISHED." * James 3:3-12 (MSG), Deuteronomy 30:19

2 Kings 4:1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of

the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant

my husband is dead, and you know that your servant

feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my

two sons to be his slaves.” 2 So Elisha said to her, “What

shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the

house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in

the house but a jar of oil.” 3 Then he said, “Go, borrow

vessels from everywhere, from all your

neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4

And when you have come in, you shall shut the door

behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those

vessels, and set aside the full ones.” 5 So she went from

him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who

brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. 6 Now

it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said

to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to

her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. 7

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said,

“Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your

sons live on the rest.” 1. She was a doer of the Word...even if she didn’t

understand or could figure out how this whole

thing would work out.

a. Jesus said doers of the word would be able

to withstand the storms of life (Matt 7)

b. James said that doers of the word would be

blessed in what they did (James 1)

c. Joshua said doers of the word would be

prosperous and have good success (Josh 1)

  1. She endured the monotony of collecting jar after

jar after jar with no end in sight and no clue if what

she was doing was even going to make a

difference.

a. Praying momma

b. Training momma

  1. She becomes a business owner, in charge of

marketing, sales, accounts receivable, accounts

payable & ultimately wealth management.

a. She was able to adapt, grow, learn, develop,

train, do whatever it took to care for her

family.

VISION is the ability to see what is INVISIBLE to others

SIGHT is a function of the EYES

VISION is a function of the HEART

Vision: is the POWER OF SEEING - The ability to perceive something that’s not actually visible

Proverbs 29:18 [VOICE] Where there is no vision from God, the people run wild, but THOSE who

adhere to God’s instruction know genuine happiness.

Adhere: to hold fast or stick by or as if by gluing, suction, grasping, or fusing [love this

definition] – to STAY attached

[TPT] When there is no clear prophetic vision, people QUICKLY wander astray. But when you

follow the revelation of the Word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul.

Bliss: Complete happiness – paradise – heaven

God gives the VISION … it’s OUR FAITH and the DOING WHAT WE SEE that brings it to pass

VISION gives YOU something to AIM YOUR FAITH towards

ADHERING to … FOLLOWING the revelation of the Word = TAKES FAITH

Vision: is SIGHT or REVELATION from God

What you see through your NATURAL EYES isn’t always “true” [may be fact – but not truth]

2 Corinthians 4:18 … we do NOT LOOK at the things which are seen, but at the

things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things

which are not seen are eternal.

FAITH is eternal

You’re in positions. You’re in positions that I’ve put you in. Positions to be a voice and to speak forth. Positions that I need. Positions that I want. Positions to speak for Me. And your positions that you’re in will demonstrate Me, will point to Me, will lead to Me, so take your position. Take your position in Me.

As you begin to take your position, you begin to hear My voice clearer. For when you hear My voice, My voice changes things. It will instruct you, give you a plan, put you into motion. And that’s when My Spirit will then come upon you to allow you to complete the tasks that I’ve asked you to accomplish. So take your position, hear My voice, be empowered by My Spirit and you will get the job done!

    • He tried to justify his actions.
      • Justification is the first sign you aren't in submission.

Proverbs 28:13

  • Those who cover their sin will not prosper, but those who confess, forsake and repent will have mercy.
    • Adam and Eve tried to cover their sin, and it didn't work.
    • They tried to hide from God, and that also didn't work.
      • Numbers 32:23 says, Be sure your sin will find you out!
      • Proverbs 15:3, The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
      • You can pass the blame to whoever you want, but the Lord will know the truth.
  • But the Word says whoever confesses their sin and forsakes it will have mercy. If they admit fault and repent.
    • It's a heart change. You can say you are sorry but never change. You have to forsake, repent of the sin, have a change of heart.
      • When you make a change and own up to your sin, there is mercy.
      • 1 John 1:9

2 Samuel 11:1-5

  • David should have been on assignment, but wasn't.
    • When you aren't on assignment, it's amazing how easily you can be led astray by sin.
  • James 1:14-15
    • David saw something that wasn't his, and his OWN desire began to draw him away.
    • His desire conceived and brought for sin.
  • 2 Samuel 12:8, 13-14, 19-22.
    • David's sin was found out, he finally owned up to it and repented.
    • And because of his change of heart, God was able to spare him, and his second son with Bathsheba was still the lineage that Jesus came out of.

How often do we pass the blame on to others instead of holding ourselves accountable?

  • We blame people, circumstances, we even blame God!
  • James 1:12-15
    • You weren't tempted by God, but drawn away BY YOUR OWN DESIRES!
    • God didn't tempt you. The devil didn't make you do it. People didn't make you do it. Situations didn't make you do it. YOU made a choice.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

  • Paul said, "I discipline my body. I bring it into submission."
  • That means that YOU are responsible for YOUR body and decisions.
  • And each choice you make will affect others.

Genesis 4:1-12

  • Looking at the actions of Cain's parents, it's not surprising that he tried to escape the blame of Abel's death.
    • It's a behavior that will be passed down. This can happen in family's or any place where YOU are a leader of others.
    • A team is only as good as their leader.

James 4:6

  • It's better to lose your pride and receive grace from God, than to keep the pride and have God resist you!

Blaming others will leave you in a victim mentality, when Jesus died for you to live a victorious life!

  • Take a step of becoming like Jesus.
    • Isaiah 53:4-7
      • He took the sin of us all on Him, and yet opened not His mouth. He didn't blame anyone.
    • He always told the truth, but never blamed anyone.

Foundational Text: Psalm 145:8-16 It’s easy to hear the Word of the Lord for the year in January, stand on it until February, maybe even March, then forget about it. But if you want the Word to work for you, you’ve got to see it through.

We have been given a Word for this year: 2022 is the Year of the Open Hand of God. In the midst of more chaos and disorder, I will open my hand and freely give to those who refuse to be shaken by it.

  1. **The importance of the prophetic word

I would like to establish today the importance of this Word from the Lord. You cannot receive from that which you do not honor. The Word is unprofitable where it is dishonored. In other words, the amount of importance that you place on a Word from God is the amount of benefit you will receive from that Word.**

1. **Matthew 13:57 (NKJV) So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.”**
2. **A person can honor the Word concerning finances and be blessed financially while at the same time be ignorant concerning healing and give no importance to what the Word has to say about healing and so walk in sickness and pain all their life, even though healing is no less true, no less God’s will, than our financial prosperity. What’s the difference? That one person honored God’s will for finances but did not honor His will for healing. I’ve seen this happen in my own life!**
  1. The purpose of prophecy:

    1. To bring edification, exhortation, and comfort 1 Corinthians 14:1-3

      1. 1 Corinthians 14:3 (ERV) But those who prophesy are speaking to people. They help people grow stronger in faith, and they give encouragement and comfort.

        1. It is a weapon which is to be wielded so that you may wage a good warfare 1 Timothy 1:18
      2. **Where is the battle fought?

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 The battle is fought in our mind**

      1. **2 Corinthians 10:5 (TPT) We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.**
      3. **So the purpose of this word from God is so that you will demolish every deceptive and lying thought that the enemy throws at you by strengthening your faith, encouraging you, and comforting you.**

      1. As thoughts, imaginations, and circumstances try to tear down everything that God has said, stand on this Word from Him: THIS is MY YEAR and the Hand of God is open to me because I REFUSE to be shaken by the chaos and disorder all around me!
      2. Psalms 91:7-8 (NKJV) A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
      3. The Word of God for you:
    2. **Daily Word:

There is a Word from God for you every day, and that is found by spending time with Him in His presence daily, reading your Bible. That is your “Daily Bread.” (Matthew 6:11) 2. A Word in Due Season:

There is also a Word from God for you for the season that you are living in.**

    1. **Isaiah 50:4 (NKJV) "The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.**
    2. **Proverbs 15:23 (NKJV) A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!**

    1. Here’s what we need to do:

    2. Give this Word extra attention

    3. Give this Word extra focus
    4. Give this Word talk time: Talk it! Say it!
    5. Give this Word extra thought

      1. **Timothy was in a specific season as a new Pastor of a church exploding with growth. He was a young man with a nature of being timid and afraid. Paul gave him instruction and encouragement. Then he said,

1 Timothy 4:15 (NKJV) Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.**

      1. **Meditate on the Word!**
      2. **Μελετάω (STRONGS)

       Meletaō

       Mel-et-ah'-o

From a presumed derivative of G3199; to take care of, that is, (by implication) revolve in the mind: - imagine, (pre-) meditate

God has given us a Word. Give it attention. Focus on it. Speak it! And meditate on it.**

Mark 16:15

  • Jesus commanded the disciples and the believers to go into all the world and preach the gospel. We are the disciples and believers. That means it's our job to preach the gospel!

Romans 1:16

  • Paul said this: "I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ"
    • We are to preach the gospel of Christ and not to be ashamed of it!
      • Why? Because it is the power of God to salvation!
    • In verse 15 he says, So as much as is in me, I AM READY to preach the gospel.
      • Has the gospel changed your life?
        • If it has, you should be ready to share it with others!
      • How thankful are you for the gospel?
        • Do you not want everyone to experience what you have experienced?
          • Paul said he was a debtor to the Greeks and barbarians. To the wise and unwise. Because the gospel had changed his life and it was only right that he share the life changing gospel with others!
  • In the parable of talents, we see that something was entrusted to others to make more, not to hide. We've been entrusted with the gospel to go out and make more disciples, not to hide what Jesus has done for us.
  • John 15:16
    • We are to bear fruit.
  • Matthew 5:15-16
    • We are to share the gospel, not to hide it.

2 Corinthians 3:3

  • You are read by all men. If you are ashamed of the gospel why would someone want to be part of it?
    • The gospel made your life better! Let others see that!

1 Corinthians 2:1-5

  • It's the power of God, not the power of us!
    • You don't have to be powerful to share the gospel, the power is IN the gospel!
    • Your testimony isn't about how good you are, but about how good the power of God in your life has been!

1 Corinthians 1:18

  • Don't be ashamed of the gospel because the world thinks it's foolish.
    • The word says it's foolish to those perishing, but to those being saved IT IS THE POWER OF GOD!
    • Those who are IN CHRIST have seen the power of God transform them, they are a new creation.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
    • Those perishing are blinded by the devil. Until WE share the glorious light of the gospel with them.
    • And when the light of the gospel is shared with them, the power of God can change them!
    • Paul is a great example of this. A man zealous for God and the law, killing Christians, who had an encounter with Jesus, and the power of God changed him into a man who wrote a majority of the New Testament!

There is no reason to be ashamed of the good news of Jesus Christ! IT IS the power of God!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is A SEASON, a time for every PURPOSE under heaven …

[vs 11] He has made everything BEAUTIFUL in its TIME…

Everything is beautiful IN IT’S TIME ... But out of season - it can just be AN ABSOLUTE MESS.

EACH SEASON has a “PURPOSE” – the LENGTH of that season is determined by HOW LONG IT

TAKES TO ACCOMPLISH THE PURPOSE.

As we DO THE RIGHT THING IN THE RIGHT SEASON – we will end up FULFILLING the WILL

OF GOD.

Legos-Building Blocks

● Most things built from legos consist of different

shapes and sizes of the two basic lego pieces:

Bricks & Plates

We are starting a new series on Wednesdays

covering the basic pieces of Pastor Larry’s 7 week bible

study. The first being A New Creation.

  1. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a

new creation; old things have passed away;

behold, all things have become new.

  1. When we call on the Name of the Lord we become

new creatures.

  1. Rom 10:8 But what does it say? "The word is near

you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the

word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you

confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and

believe in your heart that God has raised Him from

the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart

one believes unto righteousness, and with the

mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For

the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will

not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction

between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all

is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For "whoever

calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

  1. We receive a new heart

a. Ez 36:24 For I will take you from among the

nations, gather you out of all countries, and

bring you into your own land. 25 Then I will

sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be

clean; I will cleanse you from all your

filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give

you a new heart and put a new spirit within

you; I will take the heart of stone out of your

flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will

put My Spirit within you and cause you to

walk in My statutes, and you will keep My

judgments and do them. 28 Then you shall

dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers;

you shall be My people, and I will be your

God.

b. We become “new wineskins” Luke 5:36-39 A New Life

  1. At salvation we receive eternal life.

a. 1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony: that

God has given us eternal life, and this life is

in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he

who does not have the Son of God does not

have life.

  1. We become children of God

a. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to

them He gave the right to become children

of God, to those who believe in His name: 13

who were born, not of blood, nor of the will

of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of

God.

A New Nature

  1. We can partake of the nature of God

a. 2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to

you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus

our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to

us all things that pertain to life and

godliness, through the knowledge of Him

who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which

have been given to us exceedingly great and

precious promises, that through these you

may be partakers of the divine nature,

having escaped the corruption that is in the

world through lust.

b. Saul went from murderer to apostle

i. Acts 9:1-6 & 10-18 A New Kingdom

  1. Col 1:12 giving thanks to the Father who has

qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of

the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from

the power of darkness and conveyed us into the

kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we

have redemption through His blood, the

forgiveness of sins.

John 11:23-26 Jesus is the resurrection and He is life:

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Luke 19:1-10 Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost…

Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up [a]and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, [b]make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6 So he [c]made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. 7 But when they saw it, they all [d]complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”

8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”

9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

  • Jesus is thinking of those that we have cast out.

Colossians 3:1-4 raised with Christ…set your minds on those things…

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Ephesians 2:4-10 raised us up together…

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you

have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

3 John 1:2-4 Prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers…

2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in [a]truth.

BFBC functions as a force, not a field

● Church as a field - The church is a place where

people come and the work of God is done.

○ Inside the building the work of the Lord is

done by trained professionals, the building

becomes the harvest field. ● Church as a force - The church is people, equipped

to serve, meeting needs everywhere in Jesus’

Name.

○ Inside the building worship, training, and

fellowship are done. The building is a Holy

Ghost Hospital where believers can assemble

to recoup, recharge, be restored, repaired,

encouraged, sharpened, and head back out

into the field to do the work of the ministry

again. Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus

● Luke 24:1 Now on the first day of the week, very

early in the morning, they, and certain other

women with them, came to the tomb bringing the

spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found

the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they

went in and did not find the body of the Lord

Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly

perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood

by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were

afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said

to them, “Why do you seek the living among the

dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember

how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into

the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the

third day rise again.’ ”

● This action of the resurrection is a crescendo of a

long list of God bringing something dead back to

life...

○ 1 Kings 17 the widow's son (Elijah)

○ 2 Kings 4 shunammite woman’s son (Elisha)

○ 2 Kings 13 Israelite man thrown on Elisha’s

bones

○ Luke 7 the only son of a widow woman

(Jesus)

○ Luke 8/Mark 5 Jairus’ daughter (Jesus)

○ John 11 Lazarus (Jesus)

● or you could say it this way...God making

something out of nothing.

○ Abraham & Sarah

○ Joseph

○ Gideon

○ David

● Life is hard, marriage is hard, raising kids is hard,

owning a business is hard, working for someone is

hard, caring for livestock during snowmageddon is

hard, shopping for groceries is hard, filling up with

fuel is hard...shoveling snow is hard!!

○ This building is a Holy Ghost Hospital where

believers can assemble to recoup, recharge,

be restored, repaired, encouraged,

sharpened, and head back out into the field

to do the work of the ministry again.

○ This is who we are, this is what we do. We let

God do what He is good at, bringing dead

things back to life, making something out of

nothing.

○ Do you need a little resurrection in your

marriage, your business, the relationship

with your kids, your career, your ground,

your body...

■ Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who

raised Jesus from the dead dwells in

you, He who raised Christ from the

dead will also give life to your mortal

bodies through His Spirit who dwells in

you.

Bass Pro, Cabelas, Scheels (These stores have it all)

1 Cor 12:12 For as the body is one and has many

members, but all the members of that one body, being

many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one

Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews

or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been

made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is

not one member but many.

● Here at BFBC, it doesn’t matter if you’re from

Wibaux, or Beach, it doesn’t matter if you’re this

color or that, young or old, it doesn’t matter if

you’ve spent time in the clink or if you run the

clink. We are all here to worship the Living God.

● Diversity of gifts is what makes us great.

Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some

prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry,

for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to

the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of

God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the

fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children,

tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of

doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of

deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may

grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16

from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by

what every joint supplies, according to the effective working

by which every part does its share, causes growth of the

body for the edifying of itself in love.

● Part of our DNA is that we are joined and knit

together.

● Heb. 10:24 And let us consider one another in

order to stir up love and good works, 25 not

forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as

is the manner of some, but exhorting one another,

and so much the more as you see the Day

approaching.

● BFBC is one church in many locations. We are very

purposeful in assembling ourselves together. We

have the Rally, BFBI graduation, and Empowered.

Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the

grace that is given to us, let us use them:

● We don’t bury what God has given us in the dirt.

Matt 25

● Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come

to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a

ransom for many.”

● We use our talents and giftings to serve others.

● We have opportunities to serve our church family,

our communities, our region, and the world.

Everything that Adam caused by disobeying in the garden was reversed by Jesus' decision of obedience to the will of God made in the garden of Gethsemane. Genesis 3:13-24

  • In verse 15 we see the first glimpse of our Savior in scriptures, the beginning of the scarlet thread, and the plan for redemption!

Romans 5:12-19

  • Through Adam's disobedience, sin entered and spread to all men. But through Jesus' obedience many were made righteous!

Galatians 3:13

  • Christ REDEEMED us from the curse of the law
    • Colossians 1:13-14
    • Ephesians 1:7
      • If you are IN HIM, then you have been REDEEMED!

What is redemption?

  • Payment of a price to recover from the power of another, to ransom, buy off
  • Metaphorically of Christ freeing the elect from the dominion of the Mosaic Law at the price of His vicarious death
    • Mark 10:45
      • He gave Himself a ransom for many!
    • Colossians 2:13-14
      • He wiped out the debt against us! Paid it in full!
        • It was a debt we couldn't pay, if we could have, we didn't need Christ!
  • Galatians 4:4
    • He redeemed us in the time that God appointed

In Adam there was death and the curse, but in Jesus there is life, blessing and redemption.

  • What did He do to change that?
    • Romans 5:18-19
      • Jesus was obedient to the will and plan of God

Adam wasn't the only one tempted by sin.

  • Luke 4:1-13
    • Jesus was tempted by the devil as well. But Jesus quoted the Word and remained obedient to the will of God.
  • Luke 22:39-44
    • Jesus had a choice. Obey the will of God that was going to lead to suffering and death and separation from the Father for the first time in eternity, or do what was easy and do it another way.
    • Jesus chose to be obedient, even knowing the outcome!
      • Hebrews 12:2
        • For the JOY that was set before Him, He ENDURED the cross!
  • 2 Corinthians 5:21
    • He became sin so that we could be righteous and redeemed.

Everything that Adam lost in the garden, was given back to us for a choice Jesus made in the garden to be obedient to the will of God. To ENDURE the cross for us!

  • Too many Christians are living a life of defeat, when Jesus gained the victory and authority back for us. He paid the ultimate price so that you could have life abundantly!
    • Don't let the deceiver keep you thinking you can't enjoy the benefit of why Jesus came! YOU ARE REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE!

John 5:19-20 Then Jesus answered and said to them,

"Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of

Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever

He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the

Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He

Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than

these, that you may marvel."

● To be a son implies a relationship.

● A relationship can take two forms.

○ The first is a positional relationship.

■ This relationship simply means you are

a child of God.

■ You are a child of Mr. Jones. The child

may never see his father in this kind of

relationship, but he is still the child. ○ The second is living relationship.

■ A living or vital relationship means that

there is communication, dialogue, an

exchange of thoughts and feelings,

sharing experiences, sharing vision and

goals between two people.

■ Mr. Jones and his children

communicate, see each other and

express feelings to one another. They

each know how the other thinks, feels

and acts. This is a living relationship.

○ Some Christians, who may have a positional

relationship with their heavenly Father, do

not necessarily have a living relationship

with their heavenly Father. ● For a person to be led by the Holy Spirit means

that somewhere this person is getting to know

God.

● They have fellowship with God.

● They know Him and take on His character and

nature.

● To be born again qualifies a person to be led by

the Spirit of God, however, the believer must

develop a relationship with God in order to walk in

the fullness of His leading.

Philip in Acts 8:26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to

Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the

road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is

desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of

Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the

queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her

treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was

returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading

Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go

near and overtake this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him,

and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do

you understand what you are reading?”

● Philip found himself running to the Ethiopian's

chariot, getting him saved and baptized. The next

moment he found himself caught away by the

Spirit to show up in another town.

● There is no limit to what God can do with a person

who pleases Him by listening to and obeying the

voice of His Holy Spirit.

Satan deceived himself by thinking God would obey him, now he wants to deceive you into obeying him. We have to exercise our God given authority over him the way Adam should have in the garden! Genesis 3:1-13

  • We have to look at the root of why satan deceived Eve in the garden.
    • Why was satan even in the garden?

Luke 10:18

  • Satan fell FROM heaven.
    • Ezekiel 28:12-15
      • He was:
        • Full of wisdom
        • Perfect in beauty
        • An anointed cherub
        • Established by God
        • Perfect in all of his ways since being created by God
      • UNTIL iniquity was found in him.
  • Isaiah 14:12-15
    • He deceived himself into thinking he could be above God.
      • He wanted the authority, the worship and the glory.
      • He wanted what didn't belong to him, and he was cast out of heaven because of it.
    • So we see that he wanted his own kingdom. His own authority.

In the garden, man was made in God's OWN image and likeness, and was given dominion or authority over:

  • The fish
  • The birds
  • The cattle
  • Over ALL the earth
  • Over EVERY creeping thing that creeps on the earth.

He then told them to subdue and have dominion.

  • It was man's responsibility to use his GOD GIVEN authority on earth!

But we see in Genesis 3:1 that the serpent was MORE CUNNING than any other beast of the field.

  • Cunning means having or showing skill in achieving one's end by deceit or evasion.
    • Cunning can also mean crafty, which means clever at achieving one's goals by indirect or deceitful methods.
  • He is a deceiver. He wanted man's authority, and achieved it through an indirect and deceitful method.

Notice how he did not say, "I want your authority." Instead, he questioned the word of God, lied about the consequence of disobeying the word of God, and told them they would be like God, even though they were already made in the image of God.

  • So Eve saw it was good, pleasant and desirable. So she TOOK, ATE and GAVE. And he ATE.
    • 1 Timothy 2:14 says that Adam wasn't deceived, Eve was.
      • Adam failed to use his God given authority over the devil.
      • Instead of using his authority, he handed it over to the devil.
        • Luke 4:5-8
          • Satan said the authority had been delivered to him.
    • Jesus then used His authority the way that Adam should have.

In Luke 10:19 we see that Jesus has given that authority to us!

  • If you are a believer, you have authority over the devil!
    • But just because you are a believer doesn't mean he isn't going to still try to get you to worship him. He still wants to exert his will over yours.

1 Peter 5:8-9

  • Be aware and alert that the devil is looking for someone to deceive. But you have to resist him steadfast in the faith, you have to use your authority!

2 Corinthians 2:11

  • We aren't ignorant of his ways, schemes, cunningness, craftiness, or deceit.
    • What tactics did he use in the garden?
      • Question the Word
        • 2 Corinthians 11:3
      • Lie about the Word
      • Make something deadly appear good, pleasant and desirable.

Are you using your authority?

  • Adam didn't use his authority, he stood by, watched and partook.
    • Are we standing around unrighteousness and not doing anything about it?
    • Are we partaking in it also?
  • Jesus stood up to the devil. Jesus flipped tables when the house of the Lord was becoming a den of thieves.
    • Are the voices of unrighteousness speaking louder than the voices of righteousness in the world today?
      • Are we standing up for the things of God?

You have been given authority! We aren't ignorant of his devices.

  • People often say, "The devil made me do it!"
    • The devil doesn't make anyone do anything. He will make it look good, but you have the choice.
      • Adam had a choice, Jesus had a choice, YOU have a choice.
  • Don't fall into his trap.

Brandi shares Sunday in Dickinson. HOW DOES GOD LEAD US?

  • GOD does NOT GUIDE through our … SENSES or INTELLECT

  • He LEADS through OUR SPIRIT … BY HIS SPIRIT

Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, SEARCHING all the inner depths of his

heart.

John 16:13 [AMPC] But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will GUIDE

you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will NOT speak His own message [on His own

authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been

given to Him], and He will ANNOUNCE and DECLARE to you the things that are to come [that will

happen in the FUTURE].

LEARN TO LISTEN … even if YOU can’t rationalize or figure out why He is telling us to do it

  • Sometimes the SPIRIT OF GOD will tell you something that DOESN’T MAKE SENSE to the

“senses.”

It’s NOT HARD to listen to YOUR spirit --- It just takes TRAINING.

THE PRIMARY WAY THE LORD LEADS US IS THROUGH THE INWARD WITNESS.

PRAYING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT is how you ALSO TRAIN yourself to “hear.”

Jude 20 YOU, beloved, building yourselves UP on your most holy faith, praying IN [NOT:

to] the Holy Spirit.

Catherine Booth said, “If we are to better the future we MUST disturb the present.”

This WILL take some “TIME” to develop … but I truly believe if you start LISTENING IN THE

“LITTLE” THINGS … you won’t have a hard time hearing in the BIGGER things.

Sports teams have a system designed to create,

develop, & restore talent called their “Farm System”

In the business world this process is known as a company’s

“leadership pipeline."

God has used a farm system since the

beginning... companies and sports teams have

modified/twisted and adapted these principles to serve

themselves rather than serve people/generations.

God’s Farm System

  1. Create believers

a. Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob

i. Gen. 18:19 For I have known him, in

order that he may command his

children and his household after him,

that they keep the way of the Lord, to

do righteousness and justice, that the

Lord may bring to Abraham what He

has spoken to him.”

ii. Deut 6:5 You shall love the Lord your

God with all your heart, with all your

soul, and with all your strength. 6 "And

these words which I command you

today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall

teach them diligently to your children,

and shall talk of them when you sit in

your house, when you walk by the way,

when you lie down, and when you rise

up. b. Samaritan Woman - John 4

c. Ministry of the Holy Spirit upon a believer

i. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power

when the Holy Spirit has come upon

you; and you shall be witnesses to Me

in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and

Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 2. Develop believers

a. Jesus’ ministry with the 12

b. 2 Chron 20:

c. Ministry of the Holy Spirit in a believer

  1. Restore believers

a. Jesus w/ Peter John 21

b. The lost son in Luke 15

c. The ministry of the Church here on the earth.

  1. The Importance of knowing God’s will through His Word

    1. Mark 11:22-24 You cannot say without doubting if you do not have the Word on the matter. This is why generic prayers never work because there is no Word to back them up. The power is in the faith that the Word of God unleashes!
    2. Faith comes only through the Word of Christ

      1. Romans 10:17 (AMPC) So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).
        1. Acts 14:8-10 (NKJV) And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. [9] This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, [10] said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped and walked.
      2. 1 John 5:14-15 What does the Word say about Healing?
    3. Healing in the Word:

      1. Exodus 15:26 Healing in the first covenant
      2. Exodus 23:25-26
      3. Deuteronomy 28:58-61, Galatians 3:13
      4. Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17
      5. Matthew 4:23
      6. Matthew 8:3
      7. Matthew 14:14
      8. Matthew 12:15, Hebrews 13:8 Everything that Jesus did before He is still doing today
      9. Matthew 15:22-28
      10. Acts 10:38
      11. Mark 16:18
      12. 1 Peter 2:24

        1. Healing and salvation are received the same way: by faith. You cannot earn your salvation, and so you can not earn your healing (Ephesians 2:8). Faith is the door to enter the Grace room, where salvation is sitting on the table for you freely. It is also on this table that healing waits for you. The meal is made, all you have to do is come and eat!
          1. The promise is for YOU
      13. All of God’s promises in Him are yes, and in Him amen, to the glory of God through us (2 Corinthians 1:20)

      14. Thankfulness keeps the door of faith opened so you can receive all that God has done, where unthankfulness locks it shut Luke 17:11-19
    4. Every one of the lepers was cleansed, but only 1 received the creative power of God at work to restore what the leprosy had utterly destroyed

      1. By faith this man and the other 9 called on the name of Jesus and were cleansed; by faith the one remained in the power of God and continued in that healing
      2. Thankfulness is the voice of faith. Thankfulness is the only appropriate response for a guarantee that what has been promised will be delivered upon.
      3. 1 Corinthians 12:9-10 There are different kinds of healing, and healing is different from the working of miracles altogether. The gifts of healings are as He wills, so it can

        1. Anytime that the creative work of God is involved, there is a miracle. The miraculous can be seen in a number of ways (such as Jesus calming the sea, or feeding the 5 thousand), but where a person’s health and body are concerned, a miracle re-creates destroyed parts of the body or creates what should-have-been but never was.
          1. Thankfulness shifts your focus from your inability onto God’s ability
          2. Israel: an example of unthankfulness
        2. When you see what God has done, thank Him for it! Stand on the Word
        3. 2 Corinthians 1:20 this promise is for you! Will you receive it?

Everything God tells us is for our good and safety. God has set His Word before us to live our best life. Genesis 2:16

  • At this point man has access to EVERY pleasant tree that is GOOD for food.
    • Man only has ONE commandment. And the commandment leads to LIFE.
  • We need instruction.
    • Have you ever ignored instructions while building something because you thought you knew better, and when you get to the end you forgot a vital part? It can ruin the whole thing!
    • Thinking you know better than the instructions, written by the creator, is careless.
      • The Bible is sometimes explained as this:
        • B - Basic
        • I - Instruction
        • B - Before
        • L - Leaving
        • E - Earth
      • It's our guide to our best life! Written by the Creator. The same God who created you in His image, gave you instruction on how to live in His blessing and protection!

Genesis 3:1-3

  • We see the serpent comes in questioning the Word of God, and deceives Eve.
    • The command from God was "You shall not eat".
      • Eve said, "You shall not eat OR touch it."
        • Not touching the fruit wasn't a bad idea. They had no business being around that tree!
        • You don't hang around things that bring death!
          • James 1:14-15
    • But she misquoted what God said. And the devil brought in deception when he questioned the Word.
      • It's the biggest lie we can buy into.
        • When she touched it, she didn't die, and if she thought she would die the minute she did, but didn't, she's now going to question what God really said.
    • How much time did they spend meditating on the Word of God?
      • Joshua 1:7-8
      • Psalm 1:1-3
      • Proverbs 4:20-22
        • Meditating on the Word is prosperous, life and health!
    • Romans 1:21
      • The people knew God, but did not glorify Him or HONOR Him as God.
        • The dictionary says when you honor something, you fulfill or keep the command. You treat it as important, regard it with great respect.
      • We can see in Genesis 3 that Adam and Eve did not keep or fulfill the commandment of God.
        • They did not honor His command.
      • It goes on to say that they became vain in their imaginations, futile in their thoughts.
        • They became empty in their reasoning, incapable or producing any useful results.
          • When we are not honoring the Word of God in our lives, we will be incapable of producing any useful results in our lives.
    • Romans 1:22-25
      • When you quit honoring the Word of God, you exchange the truth for a lie.
        • Lies will never set you free. Only the truth can do that. (John 8:32)

Deuteronomy 6:1-9

  • God gave Moses the 10 commandments, things that would keep them from harm, and in the promises He was going to give them.
    • He said if you follow these commands your life will be PROLONGED!
      • The Word of God is for our good!
    • Then he told them to:
      • Teach their children
      • Talk about God in front of their children
        • Share your testimonies with them
          • How you got born again
          • How you got filled with the Spirit
          • What God has done for you in your life
      • Show them how to honor the Word of God

Deuteronomy 8:1, 11, 19-20

  • The Word of God applied to your life will bring life and the blessings of God.
    • But if you don't honor the Word, you will forget the Lord, follow other things, and it will lead to death.

Are you honoring the Word of God?

  • It started with one commandment, turned into 10 commandments, then into hundreds of laws. But when Jesus came He said this in John 13:34, "A new commandment I give to you..."
    • Romans 13:8-10
    • Galatians 5:14
      • All the law is fulfilled in this, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
  • We are to honor the entire Word of God.
    • In loving the Lord our God with all our heart, our mind, our soul and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves we are obeying and honoring the Word of God.
  • The Word also tells us to teach this to our children.

We are to obey His Word, honor it, respect it, meditate on it. And to teach and live it out in front of our children.

It is our responsibility as believers to “adjust the dial” or

“put ourselves in a position to be led by the Spirit of

God”

● What we’re made of...we have to set ourselves up

for success in each area.

Spirit

● Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;

for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8

For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap

corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of

the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not

grow weary while doing good, for in due season

we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore,

as we have opportunity, let us do good to all,

especially to those who are of the household of

faith.

○ If we want to be led by our spirit, we are

going to need to sow to the spirit.

○ Even when it gets boring, old, or we don’t see

the results we want to see.

○ We will reap what we sow!

● Several ways to “sow to our spirit”

○ Read the Word of God

○ Pray - Jude 20

○ Develop the fruit - Gal 5:22 But the fruit of

the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23

gentleness, self-control.

○ Attend church

○ Listen to the “inward witness”

■ A divine sense...independent of your

soulish realm.

■ “Spiritual radar”

■ Checks, uneasiness, promptings,

excitement from the inside

■ Mark 2:8 But immediately, when Jesus

perceived in His spirit that they

reasoned thus within themselves, He

said to them, “Why do you reason

about these things in your hearts? Soul

● James 1:22 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and

overflow of wickedness, and receive with

meekness the implanted word, which is able to

save your souls.

● Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that you may prove what is that good and

acceptable and perfect will of God.

● We must make our mind, will, & emotions line up

with the Word of God.

● What you think about, ponder, meditate on will

affect the degree you are led by the Spirit.

○ Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the

flesh set their minds on the things of the

flesh, but those who live according to the

Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be

carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually

minded is life and peace.

○ You can’t control the thoughts that come, but

you can control what you think about. Flesh

● Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by

the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a

living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is

your reasonable service.

● Gal 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you

shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh

lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the

flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so

that you do not do the things that you wish.

● 1 Cor 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in

a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in

such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And

everyone who competes for the prize is temperate

in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable

crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26

Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I

fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I

discipline my body and bring it into subjection,

lest, when I have preached to others, I myself

should become disqualified.

○ Your body needs rest, nutrition, & exercise

Hab 3:17 Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit

be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail,

And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be

cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the

God of my salvation.

Genesis 1:26-27

  • We saw last week the original purpose in the creation of man, to be a reflection of Him. To bear His image on earth.

Genesis 1:28-31

  • God provided every tree and herb for man to have for food.
    • And it was VERY GOOD.
      • Very carries the idea of EXCEEDINGLY
      • Good is defined as:
        • Bountiful
        • Pleasant
        • Beautiful
        • Cheerful
        • Prosperous
        • At ease
        • The BEST
  • The provision of God in the garden was:
    • EXCEEDINGLY BOUNTIFUL
    • EXCEEDINGLY PLEASANT
    • EXCEEDINGLY BEAUTIFUL
    • EXCEEDINGLY CHEERFUL
    • EXCEEDINGLY PROSPEROUS
  • It was at ease.
    • Free from worry or problems.
    • It was the absence of difficulty
    • Freedom from pain or discomfort
      • Genesis 3:17-19
    • Freedom from embarrassment
      • Genesis 2:25, 3:7-10

Genesis 2:7-15

  • We see the creation of man out of the dust of the ground, and the breath of life breathed into him.
    • God planted the garden, gave man a place to reside, with all of his food being provided.
      • Man was PUT into the provision of God.
    • Also in the garden we see the provision of gold. And the gold was GOOD. The same word used earlier to describe something bountiful, beautiful and prosperous.
  • God put Adam in the garden to tend and keep it.
    • He was PUT there, he did nothing to earn it.
      • Everything he needed was already provided, all he had to do was to tend and keep it. AND obey the command of the Lord.
    • We don't have to earn the provision of God, it's already there. But we have to tend it, keep it, and OBEY His command.
      • Joshua 1:7-8
      • Psalm 1:1-3
      • Proverbs 4:20-22
        • Adam was in the garden with the tree of life. But also the tree he was commanded not to eat of, that would give him knowledge of good and evil.
          • Proverbs 3:8
      • The disobedience of the Word God gave him took him out of the provision God had put him in.
        • Genesis 3:22-24
          • Before he was driven out, he only had to tend and keep the garden, now that he's been driven out he has to till the ground from which he was taken.
    • Disobedience took him away from the provision.

The garden was God's original plan for man.

  • It was for provision, prosperity, life, right standing with God.
    • God's intention for man has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
      • In Christ, we have the same provision, we only have to obey.
        • Disobedience will take you out of the provision of God, just like it took Adam out of the garden.

Genesis 2:18-24

  • This was the first time God said something wasn't good.
    • He made provision.
      • Proverbs 18:22
        • Same word "good" as in Genesis 1:31
        • Not only did man gain a wife, a helper, a GOOD thing, he also obtained favor from the Lord!
  • This is what provision from God looks like.
    • It's not earned, but it can be lost from disobedience.
      • It's showing the character of who God is.
    • Ephesians 3:20

Examples of the Provision of God

  1. Abraham
    • Obedient to God, father of many nations (Genesis 15)
    • Obedient to offer up Isaac, a ram provided in the thicket. (Genesis 22)
  2. Joseph
    • Obedient to God, overseer in Potiphers house (Genesis 39:1-6)
    • In charge of the prisoners WHILE in prison himself. (Genesis 39:7-23)
    • Second only to Pharaoh in all Egypt. (Genesis 41:37-45)
  3. Moses and the Israelites
    • The passover, those who were obedient to God were provided for (Exodus 12)
    • The Red Sea Crossing (Exodus 14)
    • Bitter waters made sweet (Exodus 15:22-27)
    • Bread from Heaven (Exodus 16)
    • Water from the Rock (Exodus 17:1-7)

All of this provision from God, even as the Israelites complained and murmured about how life was better as slaves in Egypt. The character of who God is was shown to them time and time again. God told Moses about the Promised Land all the way back in Exodus 3:7-10

  • The promised land is already prepared and waiting for them.
  • Numbers 13:1-2
    • Which I am GIVING to you.
      • They haven't earned it, it's the provision of God if they continue to be obedient.
  • Numbers 13:17-31
    • Moses never asked if they were able to overtake it. God already said He was giving it to them.
    • They went in to spy out the land to see that what God told them about it was true.
      • The land was exactly as God said, but the people became focused on the inhabitants instead of God.
        • Caleb tried to get their focus off the inhabitants and back on God.
      • They continued to focus on the inhabitants.
  • Numbers 14:6-10
    • The land was EXCEEDINGLY GOOD
      • The same words used to describe creation in Genesis 1:31
        • They have come to a land with provision just like the garden of Eden.
    • But because of their complaining, and not heeding to the Lord saying He was GIVING them this land, they were sentenced to the wilderness for 40 years. (Numbers 14:26-38)
    • Then they made an attempt to enter the land after the Lord told them they would die in the wilderness, and the enemy drove them back. (Numbers 14:39-45)
  • Numbers 20:1-13
    • Instead of obeying the Word of God, Moses did what he did in the past, and struck the rock.
      • God still provided for them, but Moses' assignment was taken away from him and he never saw the provision God was leading them to.
    • This happened with Samson as well.
      • Judges 13:5
        • He would only begin to do what God had called him to do because he would be led by sight and not faith.
        • It cancelled his assignment and took him out of the provision of God.
          • If Samson had been submitted to God, he would have never been betrayed by Delilah and lost his sight. The Word of God is life and health to us.

In Joshua you see the Israelites cross over the Jordan into the land God promised them and they begin to obey the commands of the Lord and partake of the provision God made for them. An EXCEEDINGLY GOOD land.

We've seen the original provision for man, the provision for the people in the Old Testament.

  • But we are under a better covenant
    • . Hebrews 8:6
  • John 10:10
    • Satan stole, killed and destroyed in the garden.
    • But Jesus came to restore that, He came to give life, and life more abundantly.
      • Exceedingly, abundantly above all we can think or ask! (Ephesians 3:20)
  • Matthew 6:24-34
    • He said you can't serve two masters, you can't be obedient to God and obedient to satan at the same time.
      • We saw Adam in the garden with all the provisions he could ever need, but when he submitted to the devil he lost it all.
    • We are to seek FIRST the kingdom of God, and with that, everything we ever need will be provided for us.
      • God is providing everything the birds need. Are you more valuable than a bird? Will He not MUCH MORE do for us?
    • You don't earn the provision of God, He's already provided it.
      • But if you don't obey Him, you hinder the provisions in your life.
      • He said don't swerve to the left or the right of the Word, be obedient to it and you will prosper. Because His Word, it's life. It's health. It's prosperous.

New series on Following The Spirit Of God - “Subscribed”

● Now more than ever we need to be led by our

spirit, rather than our flesh, our opinion, our

political party, the news, or our intellect.

● The results of learning how to follow God, and

developing our spirit will always outweigh the

effort needed to do so.

Man is a 3-Part Being

1 Thes 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify

you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and

body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord

Jesus Christ.

We are a spirit

● Gen 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our

image, according to Our likeness; let them have

dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of

the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and

over every creeping thing that creeps on the

earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image;

in the image of God He created him; male and

female He created them.

● John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship

Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

● The image of God is a spirit having complete

authority. We have been made in His likeness.

See yourself as a spirit.

● God’s first contact with Adam was Spirit to spirit

○ Gen 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of

the dust of the ground, and breathed into his

nostrils the breath of life; and man became a

living being.

○ John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the

flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak

to you are spirit, and they are life. ● 2 Cor 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even

though our outward man is perishing, yet the

inward man is being renewed day by day.

○ There is an “outward” man and an “inward”

man.

○ Eph 3:14 For this reason I bow my knees to

the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from

whom the whole family in heaven and earth

is named, 16 that He would grant you,

according to the riches of His glory, to be

strengthened with might through His Spirit in

the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in

your hearts through faith; that you, being

rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able

to comprehend with all the saints what is the

width and length and depth and height— 19

to know the love of Christ which passes

knowledge; that you may be filled with all the

fullness of God.20 Now to Him who is able to

do exceedingly abundantly above all that we

ask or think, according to the power that

works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church

by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and

ever. Amen.

○ The inward man is your spirit, the real you,

the part of you that is strengthened, the part

of you that is filled with the fullness of God. We have a soul

● When God made Spirit to spirit contact with Adam

he became a living soul.

● Man has a mind, will and emotions. Man was

given a thought life, a will and the capacity to feel

emotions.

● The soul is the link or bridge between the material

world and the spiritual world. It is here that the

crucial battles of life are fought. The soul is the

primary issue for the believer.

○ 1 Peter 2:11 (AMPc) Beloved, I implore you

as aliens and strangers and exiles [in this

world] to abstain from the sensual urges (the

evil desires, the passions of the flesh, your

lower nature) that wage war against the soul.

○ 2 Cor 10:3 For the weapons of our warfare

are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling

down strongholds, 5 casting down

arguments and every high thing that exalts

itself against the knowledge of God, bringing

every thought into captivity to the obedience

of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all

disobedience when your obedience is

fulfilled.

○ Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this

world, but be transformed by the renewing

of your mind, that you may prove what is

that good and acceptable and perfect will of

God.

We live in a body

● The body gives us contact with the material world.

We cannot function without a body. The body is

our ‘earth suit’ for our spirit and soul. In order for

God to manifest and execute His will in the earth,

he requires a body.

18 But

if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the

law.

Wheelhouse - a person’s area of expertise.

● Baseball - The great Hambino said it this way in

the Sandlot “Low and outside, just like I like it”

● When the situation suits your strengths and you

are the most confident.

Matt 4:1Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the

wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He

had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was

hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said,

“If You are the Son of God, command that these stones

become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is

written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every

word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” 5 Then

the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the

pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the

Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He

shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their

hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot

against a stone.’ ” 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again,

‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” 8 Again, the

devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and

showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their

glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give

You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus

said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You

shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall

serve.’ ” 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels

came and ministered to Him.

Jesus had a “wheelhouse”

  1. His relationship with God

  2. The Word of God

  3. The Spirit of God

  4. John 10:10 ... I have come that they may have life,

and that they may have it more abundantly.

Satan has a “wheelhouse”

  1. John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the

desires of your father you want to do. He was a

murderer from the beginning, and does not stand

in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own

resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

  1. Rev. 12 Jesus refers to satan as the one “who

deceives the whole world”

  1. John 10:10 The thief does not come except to

steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

The enemy is like Pedro Cerano...he can’t hit a curveball

You could say it like Col. Jessup “He can’t handle the

truth” Your “Wheelhouse” is:

  1. Fighting from a place of victory because of your

relationship with God.

a. Salvation

b. Righteousness

c. Faith

d. As a member of the body of Christ

  1. The Word of God

  2. The Spirit of God - your helper - endued with

power from on high (Acts. 1:8)

Examples of how to stay in your “wheelhouse”

Addiction

  1. Resist addiction with a relationship with God, by

being born again and a member of the body of

Christ.

a. Surround yourself with other believers who

will encourage you.

b. If God is for you, who can be against you

c. You aren’t a “sinner” hoping to make heaven,

you are a child of the Most High God who is

resisting your flesh. 2. Resist addiction with the Word of God

a. Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ

b. Is 10 says the anointing, or the power of

God, breaks the yoke of bondage.

c. Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren,

by the mercies of God, that you present your

bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to

God, which is your reasonable service.

  1. Resist addiction with the Spirit of God

a. John 14, 15, & 16 talk of the “helper”

b. Acts 1:8 receive power

c. He will never leave you nor forsake you A lifestyle doesn’t honor God

  1. Relationship - Repent and get back in relationship

a. Jonah

b. Prodigal

  1. Word - 1 John 1:9 & Rev. 2:5 Remember therefore

from where you have fallen; repent and do the

first works

  1. Spirit - build yourself up in your most holy faith,

praying in the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 104:26 There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it. 27 These all look to you, to give them their food in due season. 28 When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.

Psalm 145:14 The Lord upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down. 15. The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season. 16 You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

  • God’s loving hand is open toward us!
  • If we won’t draw back, but rather respond to His love, His hand of provision will be seen.

    • “Take the Word of the Lord and begin applying it, expecting every part of it in your life. Make seeking and receiving the wisdom of God for every part of your life a priority.”

      • I Corinthians‬‭‭I ‭5:14-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
      • Haggai 1:2... Consider your ways...
        • Knowing God’s hand is open will compel you toward Him.
    • Luke 8: 42-48 Woman with the issue of blood…

    • It is clear that His hand of provision had already been expressed. Because she received her health.
    • Let His open Handed love compel you to call on Him.
    • Despite this woman being where she was not suppose to be, received life from the open hand of God.
    • But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.

45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”

When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, [p]and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”

46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.

48 And He said to her, “Daughter, [q]be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

These people are inwardly changed, but their old thinking patterns have become a bad

THIS is what you HAVE TO DO for the Word to become “IMPLANTED” in you!

Ephesians 4:8,11-12 “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to

pastors and teachers, 12 FOR [Purpose] the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for

the edifying[building up] of the body of Christ,

HOW to RECEIVE the IMPLANTED Word:

  1. SUBMISSION: You have to CONTINUOUSLY live in SUBMISSION to the Word of God

whether you “like it” or “not”

  1. ILLIMINATION: You MUST ILLIMINATE anything or anyone that tries to keep you from

SUBMITTING to the Word of God.

  1. ACT ON YOUR DECISION - Once you SEE IT in the Word … DO IT

  2. CONTINUATION: This is NOT something you’re going to “try” ONCE

  3. RECEPTION: When you do the FIRST 4 things – you will begin to RECEIVE THE WORD

OF GOD

We were created in the image and likeness of God. That means that we are to resemble and bear His image on earth. If we label ourselves Christians, and don't bear the image of the Father, we leave no desire for others to come to believe in Christ Jesus Genesis 1:26-27

  • Genesis 5:1
    • Created to bear the image of God on earth.

Romans 5:12-13

  • 1 Corinthians 15:45, 47, 49
    • Sin entered the world through the first Adam. All men sinned and bore the image of the transgression of Adam, but as we used to bear the image of the man of dust, we will also bear the image of the Man of heaven.

Hebrews 1:3

  • Colossians 1:15
  • John 14:9
    • Jesus is the express image of the Father, the image of the invisible God. If you have seen Jesus, you have seen the Father, because He bears His image.

Ephesians 5:1

  • We are to be imitators of Him as dear children. When people see you, will they think you look like the Father?

John 14:15-20

  • The image of the Father is dwelling within you!

2 Corinthians 5:20

  • An ambassador represents and promotes the interests of another.
    • Are we representing the Father?
      • In the way we talk?
      • In the way we act?
      • In the things we take part in?
    • Are we promoting the things of the Father?
      • Living in sin does not represent or promote the things of the Father.
  • God is making his appeal through us.
    • Appeal means a serious or urgent request, typically made to the public.
      • The world urgently needs representatives of God on earth.
        • "Out of 100 men, one will read the Bible, the other 99 will read the Christian." D.L. Moody
      • If we label ourselves Christians, and don't bear the image of the Father, we leave no desire for others to come to believe in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-16

  • When you bear the image of the Father, and they see the Father in you, they will glorify Him. They will be drawn unto Him.
  • We were created to be in the likeness of Him, not the likeness of sin.

So how do we apply this to our lives?

  • 2 Corinthians 13:5
    • Examine yourself!
      • Are you living according to His word?
      • Do you look like the Father, do you look like Jesus?
        • Jesus Christ is in YOU!

What does it mean to change the narrative? It means we need to change the collective story we tell ourselves in order to support a thing.

We tell ourselves stories that don't go along with the Word of God and we believe them to be true! [Romans 12:2]

There is a war going on! The devil, the enemy, has been on his assignment to do exactly what John 10:10 says: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”

There’s a comparison of the devil to a lion: lions go after the young, weak, sick, and the stragglers.

The devil loves it when God’s people get discouraged, depressed, isolated, down on themselves or others because he enjoys pouncing on their vulnerabilities!

That’s why we are told to be alert and watchful.

When we’re alert or sensitive, we’re ready for what’s coming. We have a plan in tact to combat the forces of the enemy.

Not only do we have HIS Word on the matter, we’ve been given a word for this hour to EXPECT THE OPEN HAND OF GOD in the midst of chaos & disorder.

Robin of Loxley vs Little John

1 Chron 20:1 It happened after this that the people of

Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them

besides the Ammonites, came to battle against

Jehoshaphat. 2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat,

saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from

beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon

Tamar” (which is En Gedi). 3 And Jehoshaphat feared,

and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast

throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to

ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah

they came to seek the Lord.

  1. The first thing that Jehoshaphat did was fear.

a. Some Christians would say that Jehoshaphat

wasn’t in faith because he feared.

b. Some would say that he just needed more

faith

c. Some would ask “what did he do, or what

has he been doing for this to come upon

him” 2. Fear is going to come...circumstances are going to

come...what you do with them will determine the

outcome of your story.

  1. You can choose to fight the devil for victory in his

domain...or you can choose to fight from victory in

the spirit.

a. Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in

the Lord and in the power of His might.

b. Col 2:11 In Him you were also circumcised

with the circumcision made without hands,

by putting off the body of the sins of the

flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried

with Him in baptism, in which you also were

raised with Him through faith in the working

of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13

And you, being dead in your trespasses and

the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has

made alive together with Him, having

forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped

out the handwriting of requirements that

was against us, which was contrary to us.

And He has taken it out of the way, having

nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed

principalities and powers, He made a public

spectacle of them, triumphing over them in

it.

c. 2 Cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh,

we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For

the weapons of our warfare are not carnal

but mighty in God for pulling down

strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and

every high thing that exalts itself against the

knowledge of God, bringing every thought

into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6

and being ready to punish all disobedience

when your obedience is fulfilled.

  1. Jehosophat “Changed the Playing Field”

a. He set himself to seek the Lord

b. He proclaimed a fast

c. He asked help of the Lord

d. He magnified the Name of the Lord

i. Big God, little problem

e. He listened to the voice of the Lord

f. He was a doer of the Word of the Lord

Paul related marriage to our relationship with Christ. But because the marriage union has gotten so perverted and distorted, it can seem as if marriage is a horrible comparison to what our relationship with the Lord should look like – but the Word of God is the will of God and there is a correct way we are to look at marriage!

Marriage takes effort, energy, and focus! - Our relationship with the Lord takes effort, energy, and focus. EVERYTHING screams for our attention – Now!

Effort - conscious exertion of power - a serious attempt – hard work! The total work done to achieve a specific end!

Energy – ability to be active, physical & mental strength that allows you to do something, natural enthusiasm, vigorous exertion of power.

Focus - the center of interest or the center of activity, a point of concentration.

You fall in love because you work at it and you fall out of love because you take each other for granted.

Freedom comes with KNOWLEDGE & APPLYING the knowledge you have!

You’ve got to KNOW, so you can GROW & you’ve got to DO, so you DON’T LOSE.

Jerry Sevelle - 2022 will be the year of the open hand

of God. “In the midst of more and more chaos and

disorder, God will open His hand and freely give to

those who refuse to be shaken by it.”

● Notice this is in the midst of chaos and disorder.

That means there are troubles and hardships that

will arise in 2022. This will cause the world to be

unstable, but God has different plans for you!

While others are saying, “Worst of times, worst of

times”, if you stay in faith, you’ll be saying, “Best of

times, best of times.”

1 Sam 6 The Philistines send the Ark of the Covenant

back on a new cart being pulled by two milk cows.

● God had given the Israelites instructions on how to

handle the Ark...call it “Ark of the Covenant Etticut”

● The world doesn’t follow God’s ways...they are lost,

ignorant, and don’t have the ability to understand

the things of God.

● Many people died after the Ark was returned

because they didn’t follow the protocol God had

laid out for handling it.

● We see something the world is doing and

something that looks like “success” and we copy,

duplicate, or imitate the world’s way and then get

upset because the Hand of the Lord is not upon

that strategy.

● 1 Chron 13 & 15 Uzzah dies pulling the Ark on a

new cart. David then repents and in chapter 15

tells the levites to follow God’s “gameplan” on

transporting the Ark.

Mark 16 Jesus says these signs will follow you: In My

Name you will: cast out demons, speak on tongues,

have supernatural protection, and supernatural power

1 Peter 5 says your adversary walks about seeking

whom he may devour...resist him steadfast in the faith.

James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and

he will flee from you.

Eph 6 Paul describes how we are to function during the

“evil day”

● 2 Cor. 10:3-6 Although we walk according to the

flesh we don’t fight that way.

● 1 Time 6:12 fight the good fight of faith, lay hold of

eternal life

Buffalo Bills: Perfect Playoff Game

● No punts, no turnovers, no field goals

● They gained yards on 49 of 51 plays (kneeled twice

at the end of the game)

● Afterward the media interviewed the players...they

all said “we came to play”...they say “coaching staff

had a good game plan, we just came out and

executed”

If we are going to have success during this chaotic

season, we are going to have to have the testimony “we

came to play.” We are going to have to recognize God’s

game plan in this thing and go out and be doers of the

Word!! ● We suited up, took what we knew about the

Word of God, applied it to our lives, were

doers of the Word and not hearers only.

● We resisted the devil in Jesus Name. We

didn’t allow him to have his way in our life,

our family, our church, our city, state, or

nation.

● We preached the gospel to all creatures,

making disciples from every nation, baptising

them in the Name of the Father, Son, and

Holy Spirit

Perception - Medora, ND - a tourist attraction that uses

illusion, perspective, and perception to take some pretty

cool selfies.

David - Perceived that God was greater than any lion,

bear, or giant. His focus and attention wasn’t on his

problems, his focus and attention was on his God...God

was greater in David’s eyes than anything else.

1 Sam 17:45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You

come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a

javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of

hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have

defied.

There was a room that made it look like you were

walking on the ceiling.

Elijah - On Mount Carmel prepared the sacrifice for the

living God, then he doused it with water. This seemingly

made it impossible to ignite...but with God nothing is

impossible.

1 Kings 18:24 Then you call on the name of your gods,

and I will call on the name of the Lord; and the God who

answers by fire, He is God.”

There was a house that was built square, normal,

it was just placed on a 45 degree foundation.

Matt 7:24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of

Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who

built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended,

the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that

house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
