Hi Kids. Chapter 9 of the Wind in The Willows. I'm sorry if I have been a little erratic in loading some of these chapters but each one is recorded fresh, edited, and put out there for your enjoyment! This means that sometimes I'm not at my best. Some of these chapters have only been possible thanks to liberal doses of Lemsip and Halls Mentholyptus sweets. Hope I don't disappoint you too much, Bill.
Hi Kids. This track is 'Cheval'. 'Cheval' is the old french word for 'Horse'. Used today it describes a tall, slender mirror that stands free on four feet. Sometimes those feet can be very ornately carved, like the proud horses in the story. The story may be a little beyond some of our listeners, but it's a story about how we begin as a child with an open mind to the magic in our imagination, then as we grow older and have more responsibility we begin to lose touch with it. But don't worry, as we get older still our imagination finds ways to reconnect us with the magic. I hope you enjoy this one, Bill

Hi Kids. I know that by now that you probably all think I'm a bit silly, just from listening to the content of these stories, but I'd like you to remember that I only wrote them. The stories were directed by the children from Sharrow School who suggested characters, plot and everything else I had to include (including skeletons and blood). I suspect that they were children just like you are now. So go ahead and enjoy letting your imagination run free!
Hi Kids. This is the first chapter of Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows'. For those of you familiar with Ratty, Mole and Badger this will need no introduction, but what I have recorded is the original version of the story as printed in October of 1908, 110 years ago in another month or so. Some of the words Mr Grahame uses might make you think a little but it's worth the effort. Sit back, listen and enjoy... and no, you can't have a go at the oars... not yet anyway, maybe later...

Hi Kids. Very short podcast this week, just a poem. This poem is dedicated to all the trees saved by protesters against the Sheffield City Council policy of cutting down viable trees because they feel it will make the pavements safer. But much less nicer than before, especially in summer.
Man-Child and The Talking Stone is a story about understanding each other, and accepting that while we are basically the same, we do have differences in our abilities. It is also about the way that Life shapes us for the different tasks it has in store for us, and how we can use our differences to make things easier and better for all of us. But mostly it's about Danger, Fun, Tigers, Parrots and Monkeys!

Hi Kids! Another of my 'Sharrow' stories today. This is a poem called 'And The Ship Sailed On...'. I was given the cast of the crew by Saniya, who wanted to be both a Princess AND a Movie Star, and Kenttoon, who wants to be a Ninja when he grows up. It had to take place on board a ship and there had to be shark(s) and soldiers! Now, start to work that one out. As always, I did my best... and here it is...

Hi Kids. A Wish for Wings is another of my 'Sharrow' stories. This time, Hudeifa and Hannah wanted to be horses, but not ordinary horses, very special horses. At first they wanted to be very different horses too, but did they find at the end that perhaps they didn't want to be so different after all...?
