So many guys talk about feeling stuck or being in a place or unhappiness or boredom even when they’re successful by all counts, looking from the outside.
Maybe that’s you. Maybe you want to feel more alive, to know that there’s a Divine guidance system & that you’re not just out there on your own. If it’s hard for you to ask for help, you’re not alone in that either. Receptivity is difficult for most men. It’s not what culture, parents, school has trained you to do.
But, if you want to feel like you’re worthy of claiming & living your dreams, if you want to align with your true identity as a man with a brave heart & a bold spirit, you’re going to have to open yourself to receive Divine guidance.
Receiving more can also mean letting go of what is no longer working for you. What are you willing to let go of, so you can move more of what you want into your life?
You don’t have to make it difficult. There are so many tools that can help you open up in a very natural way that just feels right. Music being one of them. Music has the power to move us in ways that words can’t. When you feel “stuck”, that’s just a perception. Get your physical body moving & the rest will follow. Find your favorite song & let it shift you into a different state of being.
Then just move! It may sound too simple to really do much of anything. But, music is quite literally movement. As it moves & you move with it, you can move yourself into a new reality. The key is to be intentional about it.
Crank up U2’s “Mysterious Ways”. Get yourself moving to it & see what kind of energy that stirs up within you!

SHOW NOTES:
8:00 - The definition of “dangerous” has changed. Today, it’s more about fear of looking like a moron, rather than out-running saber-tooth tigers.
11:30 - A lot of us are waiting to “get off the couch”, playing it safe. But, engaging in a more expansive, playful life opens up aliveness.
12:40 - Relationships have become more transactional, resulting in loneliness. We need to get together in the same room, just to hang out.
13:10 - Kimberly talks about her response to the mass shootings in Allen, TX by creating Group Empowerment Drumming events for men. The Remo Drums HealthRhythms experience is a great outlet for stress relief, learning to be present while playing and coming together in community, and feeling supported as we navigate life’s trials.
What is going on in the human spirit, in men’s spirits, that’s driving them further into violence in our culture? Exploring this question can lead to finding the courage to share our challenges and realizing we’re not alone. Then, we can get creative and forge new opportunities for healing and welcoming more love into our lives.
15:54 - It’s easy to become isolated, making life about only work and family. Tripp talks about the vital “nutrients” that can only come from hanging out with other men. Without it, men go looking for it in other things, like overwork and porn. It’s a tell-tale sign, when life feels empty, that you’re missing vital connections with other men. Having genuine interactions and not getting stuck in surface-level conversations about work and politics is essential for feeling seen, cared for, validated and nurtured. Those vital nutrients, Tripp says, relieve stress and keep men from being assholes!
19:12 - Musicians tap into “flow” or “the zone”, elevating into higher frequencies where a different kind of communication happens. Tripp talks about some of the most rewarding moments he’s experienced by being connected to others playing music together.
20:40 - Life is not linear in the way that so many people try to live it. Allowing space for cool things to arrive, that you’re not expecting, is where the magic happens.
22:32 - Tripp talks about having fun getting back into recording new songs.

28:50 - Tripp talks about the creative process of writing and recording “Throw Myself to Fire”, the fun of allowing it to create itself by opening up to all the possibilities...
Rhythm is a process that's baked in to our human design. And into the fabric of the Universe. But, where does it come from and why is it significant in regulating men's mental health - as well as the physical, emotional, and spiritual? In this episode:
James Wedmore joins the podcast for Pt 2 of “Are you hardwired for entrepreneurship?” in this series on the energy of money.
He talks about starting everything from abundance. Most people have a relationship with money that comes from “lack”, creating an imbalance between time and money.
When you have a perception of yourself that is low value, it’s difficult to make a lot of money. You have to value yourself in order to be able to receive a level of money that reflects that value. Core beliefs need to be healed first.
Time is more valuable than money.
Going through difficulties helps you to help others through your experiences. It helps you acquire value. Stop hoarding money and giving away your time. It’s backwards.
Most people are living conditionally from the outside in. Changes have to occur from the inside out.
Every “yes” is a “no”. Learning to say “no” to money opportunities helps you learn to focus on what you need for your business. Your goal, as an entrepreneur, is to build a machine that makes money.
Entrepreneurs are in the business of solving problems, so learning to love them and getting creative about solving them, is a key for success.
Entrepreneurs think differently and we must change how we look at things. Seeing from a different perspective or angle leads to solutions and opportunities.

James Wedmore joins the podcast in the second episode of this series about the energy of money. He talks about the things that make the entrepreneurial mind different and how people with this way of thinking and seeing the world can maximize their potential to make money.
James says the most valuable thing he can offer you is the ability to see things differently – a change in perspective. His book opens with the idea that when you change the way you look at things, the things you’re looking at change. Your world changes; your life changes.
James’ “Mind Your Business Podcast” has the double meaning of seeing things with Divine Mind, as well as your own mindset.
The concept of The Guardian of the Mind prevents you from being in a growth mindset by keeping you in a fixed mindset of what you already know. * Get James Wedmore’s Free E-Book, “Hardwired for Entrepreneurship” which also gets you a seat in his epic 3-day Free live event Rise of the Digital CEO. What we’re all seeking is a connection to deeper meaning, to beauty, to the intrinsic value of our souls. But, we often confuse these deeper desires with surface level distractions.
Harvard University’s long-running study on happiness shows that men are more fulfilled when they feel a sense of purpose, are engaged in meaningful work, altruism and connection to loved ones than with simply pursuing more “stuff”.
Ralph Marston, publisher of The Daily Motivator, visits with me in this excerpt from a recording where we discussed the value of commitment to cultivating beauty, art, creative endeavors and contributions to the world that may take a lifetime, or longer, to bear fruit. You’ll hear stories about two garden sanctuaries that took decades to cultivate by men who were dedicated to the journey of their own soul’s calling and the satisfaction it gave them. The results have provided joy for many thousands of people who have had the pleasure to visit them.
You’ll also learn two exercises to stop your mental chatter and shift gears, simply by using the sound of your voice or with the rhythm of “body beats”. Music is medicine!

In this episode:
More men are seeking deeper meaning in life. The experience of the pandemic has forever changed our world and the way we relate (or not) to one another. It can be a painful, yet beautiful, process to go through the questioning, doubting, elevation of understanding, and then questioning some more. But, that is the journey of life. You can choose to stay surface level, but really living requires deeper exploration of ourselves and intimate connection to others.
Singer/Songwriter, John Waite, in the documentary film, John Waite: The Hard Way shares his vulnerability as a musician navigating the disconnected landscape of the music business shutdown. No matter what industry you’re in, it paints a picture of what life has been like for many people longing to express themselves and be connected to others.
Your soul is calling you to go deeper. Music helps men connect more easily.

Men often take on so much pressure to perform that they forget how much fun it can be to learn new things. It takes a lot of energy to keep up the pace of being the expert day after day. And it can also become boring to hold that position without an infusion of fresh energy. Vitality comes with the courage to quiet the ego, that inner voice that pushes you to worry what others will think, whether you’ll look or feel stupid, or fail at a new endeavor. Being a beginner means you will most likely fall down…and then you can laugh about it. You can feel the joy of the challenge to become better. And laugh some more! Don’t let your ego cause you to miss out on the joy of being a beginner.

I’ve done a lot of other programs where people were teaching concepts without giving me a map, or role-playing that I never really got. Kim approaches things a different way – she has a way of seeing what I can do, what’s already in me that I haven’t even seen for myself yet. So much simpler than the way we’re all trained to do things. And I felt comfortable. That was huge. Kim is kind & encouraging & the other people in our mastermind group were also supportive. In this episode:
Men in a black and white thinking pattern struggle to enjoy life by seeing their dreams and desires in the past and their present responsibilities as the only choice, leading them to burn-out, depression and anxiety.
When Mark Thomas didn’t take time to play guitar due to other responsibilities, he became frustrated. Growing up listening to the radio led him to want to learn to play guitar at an early age. So, getting back to it was key to putting him in the right mindset to start his own business.
His company, Thomas Media, was formed through understanding right timing with the right people as partners and has been a successful outgrowth of his creative approach to relationships with customers.
The journey of being an entrepreneur or small business person can be scary because the success of your career is on your shoulders. But, having the courage to do it, in the face of fear, is worth it.
Now Mark enjoys the success of his band, The Mojo Brothers, and performing live as an integral part of who he is at his core. The energy of creativity brings him joy and allows him to thrive.

KB CainIN THIS EPISODE:
This is considered to be the holiest month in religious traditions around the world. But, we can use the meaning, the lessons, and the energy of it year-round to help us stand in the vibration of Truth and Love. Good Friday, Passover, Easter and other religious traditions point the way to our highest level of being in the world.
3 things to hold onto, to ponder, or to lift you up:1. Think of the worst things you’ve gone through to date. Not to bring you down. Not to dwell on. But, as a reminder that you made it through. You survived. Think on the ways you’re better for what you went through. Granted, it may have been a hell that you don’t want to repeat. But, I believe we can always find seeds of good in our experiences, seeds that grow us into stronger individuals. 2. Understand the difference between inconvenience, or discomfort, and real pain. You can weather the inconveniences. You’ll adapt and come around with different methods to get things done. In some cases, you’ll come up with better ways of doing things. If you experience real pain, it’s the time to reach out – to get help. This kind of vulnerability is human and it’s also a window into the knowledge that you’re loved. You will find strength in pain and hardship because you’re vulnerable. Others will rise to the occasion to bring the help you need – just as you would for them. And, if you should find yourself alone in your pain, reach UP – to the Love that is higher than any of us, as humans, can fathom. I’m talking about the Love that is part of your DNA. The love that created you. If you’ve never reached for it before, take the chance. I promise you will find Love waiting for you – in the most beautiful and unexpected ways. 3. If you’re afraid of death – for yourself or someone you love – know this. It is inevitable that we will all reach that place – the place where we leave and transcend this physical body. Because it is part of the cycle of life, we can really take comfort in the fact that it must be all right. Though it’s a mystery, we were born into the cycle that includes death. It’s going to be okay.
As always, music is the healer that touches our souls. I want to share a song with you, guaranteed to lift you up!

and Rhett in these individual episodes.
I don’t know about you, but for me, the fact that Love never dies is really Good News!
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear. ~ 1 John 4:18So, whatever you celebrate – be it Easter, Passover, Spring, or anything else – just be sure you continue to celebrate.
I did a podcast episode in March 2018 on the Life-Renewing Energy of Easter. You can take a listen to that episode here if you’d like to dive a little deeper into the energy of resurrection and renewal – what I call the Christ energy – and how it’s different from a lot of religious thinking.
Take care.
Love,
Kimberly

How do you transition from the energy of a high stress work situation to an intimate moment with a lover, or any other situation that requires a more relaxed vibe? Music can be your rescue remedy.• If this episode inspires you in some way, message me on Instagram @kimberlycain.music.media.
I love hearing from you!
In this episode:
The brain requires time to transition from one type of situation to another. So, it can be difficult to be present with your lover, your spouse. You may be present physically, but your mind is still working on the last task. And in our busy world, we often don’t carve out the necessary time for peaceful transitions.
It can be extra challenging to move out of the energy of “work mode” and into the energy of intimacy.
Music is an amazing tool for helping you to shift gears. Though the brain still requires the time it takes to make the transition, music can jumpstart the process. Try the exercise in this episode and let me know how it works for you.

In this episode:
Many men restrict their love, literally to the detriment of their own hearts, for fear of appearing weak or less masculine.
Dean Brown was my father and a wonderful example of what powerful, masculine love looks like. Through his leadership, many men were able to reframe their perception of masculinity.
In this excerpt from one of his talks, you can hear that love in his own voice. Let it inspire you to open yourself up to experience more joy and to live life more fully.

IN THIS EPISODE:
• Tightness in your chest isn’t just about muscle constriction. It can stem from withholding forgiveness for your past mistakes or for holding on to the ways others have wronged you.
• The fear of appearing less masculine can cause men to limit the boldness and power of their love, resulting in feeling a lack of love and acceptance from others.
• The greatest leadership skills stem from love as the foundation. You become a magnet for others and those you lead naturally want to follow you because they feel valued by you. This starts with recognizing your own value.
• The body gives us clues, in advance of physical problems, that we’re headed in a direction that’s harmful to us. When we learn to allow the body to inform us, we can live with more energy and vitality because we’re able to re-center ourselves before we go too far.
• Grief comes in many forms, from loss of a loved one to job loss or loss of a dream. It can cause physical constriction in the chest.
• Accepting your flaws creates freedom from stress and allows you to accept, love, and forgive others more easily.
• Gratitude opens your heart center.
• Forgiveness is a powerful tool for freeing up the energy in your heart chakra. It’s an act of love for your own self first and can create a literal feeling of weight being lifted off your chest.

• Want to coach with me this year? Kimberly’s Mastermind Adventures
IN THIS EPISODE:
This is the second episode in a series on the Seven Energy Centers in the body, known as the Chakra System. Understanding the flow of energy through these centers can move you into higher levels of consciousness and provide a sense of well-being, courage, clarity, and purpose.
Key Points from this episode:
6:50 – The first time I saw Brendon Burchard speak, he asked an audience of a few hundred people, “Do you think about your energy on a regular basis?” When only five hands went up, he responded, “We gotta fix that!” I agreed and eventually did his coaching certification program.
• Because everything is energy, it means we can move from one level of energy (or state of mind) to another more quickly than what most people would think. We can plug into a power source that is much greater than what we can generate on our own and through that, we’re able to shift our thoughts and understanding by direct knowing, instead of through traditional learning methods.
The energetic state change of music from verse to chorus is a great example of the way we can quickly change our own state and our perspective, which can in turn, change everything! The smallest changes, over time, can move us in the direction of our dreams.
• A healthy dose of humor is helpful when traveling the path of consciousness and personal development! We don’t ever “get there”. We just become more aware and can learn to allow ourselves more grace on the journey.
• No matter what you find as your purpose in life, it’s vital to our world. The “size” of your purpose, from being the President of the United States to being a small community leader or a great dad, is irrelevant. You have a unique footprint and are every bit as valuable as the next guy.
23:27 – Description and practical use of the First Chakra energy, known as the Root Chakra. It’s connected to the energy of safety, groundedness, money, food, family, and generally, to survival.
• Finding solutions becomes much easier when the first chakra is balanced and you’re not cycling through a mental state of worry. Meditation, prayer and spending time in nature can provide the needed balance.
34:00 – The importance of asking questions is that, when you get connected to a Higher Source of Energy, you will get answers!
37:46 – A simple exercise for getting grounded and releasing the energy of worry, fear, and anxiety.
39:30 – A practice using music to help you tune into the energy in your body, as it’s connected to your emotions, thoughts, and ideas. Body awareness is key to alleviating difficult emotions and debilitating thought patterns, so you can move into courage, confidence, and purposeful action.
42:30 – A meditation to put you in the energy of success and purpose.

TAKE IT FROM SOME GUYS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED A MASTERMIND ADVENTURE WITH ME:
“Mind-blowing. That’s all I can say. I don’t even know how to describe my sessions with Kim. I just know that I feel accepted & comfortable in my own skin in a way I never had before. She has a rare gift. She opens up the best in me.”
~ Michael M., 7-figure Sales Professional
“I had the time of my life on Kim’s mastermind adventure day! Trying to think of what was most valuable about it, it’s like reaching into a treasure box – which thing do I grab?! I wasn’t going in for a spiritual awakening, but I sure got one – & that’s got nothing to do with religion! If I could sum it up, I’d say Kim really shows you how to quantum leap.”
~ G Luna, Entrepreneur
“I went to a job interview shortly after I did some rhythmic exercises Kim gave me to find my energy source & improve my communication…& I want to tell you how powerful it made me feel, how much clarity I gained. I was able to express myself in a way that landed me a new career position. I highly recommend that you connect with Kim & open yourself up to a brand new experience.
~ Todd Watson – VP/General Counsel, Marco’s Franchising
“Kim’s mastermind adventure made a huge difference for me! Learning, with her guidance, about how physical, psychological & spiritual energy are tied together, immediately raised my confidence level. Her coaching led me to understand how I can intentionally create more joy & vitality in my life.”
~ Price Newton, Entrepreneur, Financial Services Professional
“You owe it to Yourself, your Loved Ones, and all whose lives you touch to read and hear Kim Cain. She has an amazing gift to peel away the layers of BS that limit your potential, and she shows you how you can ignite, or re-ignite your Creative Genius, your Passion for Life; Give her a try. IN THIS EPISODE:
We’re talking about energy! You need it. I need it.
And we can be masters of generating what we need to live an adventurous, joyful life – full of courage, passion and purpose.
I’ve been coaching and acting as a mentor to people for a long time. And, because I’m a life-long learner, I took Brendon Burchard’s coaching certification course about eight years ago. Talk about channeling a massive amount of energy! Picture Dave Grohl, but without the guitar or drums, and as a public speaker. Big energy! And all of it channels through Brendon and gets released onto his audience.
The first time I saw him speak, he asked an audience of a few hundred people, “Do you think about your energy on a regular basis?” About five hands went up. He responded, “We gotta fix that!”
You guys who may still see this “energy stuff” as “woo-woo”…I’m talking to you. Most guys who listen to this podcast, or have come to live events where I’m speaking, or reached out for coaching, have some level of awareness of energy as a powerful force. You’re smart. You understand energy movement as an electrical current, or as the force of friction, or the activity within an atom – things that can be measured scientifically and feel “real world” tangible or explainable, as opposed to the world of the “woo-woo”.
You may not think about it a lot, but as soon as I say it, you also understand changes in dynamics of a meeting when one person enters the group after it’s already been established. Something shifts; it changes. You may not know what’s happening, but something either feels better or it doesn’t feel right. It’s the dynamic of the energies embodied by each person in the group. Their thoughts, feelings, words, movements.
A lot of you are musicians – either professionals or lovers of music who play for fun or just listen to a lot of music. You can feel the changes in the music – the movement of energy. Music is such a fantastic way to understand energy in a less mechanical way. Because it touches your feelings and your body, and creates changes, simply by coming into contact with it.
So, we can use that. I’m here to help you change your perception of “woo-woo”.
I agree with Brendon Burchard, and that’s why I’m going to dive into this with you – because you simply need to know how to master your energy. This understanding is so powerful and so necessary if you’re going to live a whole, conscious life. I’ve had so many people ask if I could coach someone else in their family – because, let’s face it… if we could just fix that problem person in our lives, we’d be more comfortable. You know I’m right! That’s just human nature.
What I tell them, though, is that when you take the focus off of them and start learning to master your energy, you’re actually going to see them change. It’s inevitable. I can honestly say that I’ve never coached anyone who didn’t experience that shift, whether in their own perspective or an actual shift in the other person’s behavior.
Just like the additional person who joins an already established group, the energy shifts. When you shift your energy, the dynamic in your family, with your team, your friendships, or in your intimate relationships is going to change.
I’ll be going Live on Facebook all week Feb. 13-17, 2023 for some free “Fireside Sessions” (as in “Let Me Stand Next to Your Fire”) where I can go deeper into the various types of energy that flow through us. What’s great about looking at energy this way is that you can really get a feel for where you may be low on energy – exactly where that’s coming from and what’s causing it – besides just a generalization, like:
“I feel tired” or “I’m basically doing ok, but other than that, life is kind of blah”, or “sex isn’t as exciting or as interesting as I want it to be.” When you know the “why”, then you can really do something about it. You can turn yourself back on, so you can get more joy, focus, clarity, passion, strength, courage – whatever it is that seems to be bogging you down (or not lighting you up).
So, sign up for that right now! It’s free. I’ll be sharing more in-the-moment and helping as many guys as I can to wake up to their energy in a conscious way. There are too many men feeling depression, apathy, boredom and just feeling resigned to living in a way that’s so much less enjoyable than what they could be experiencing. And, too many men going far enough down that path that they get to a level of self-harm. A wonderful fan and patron of the holiday show I do with my sister every year, took his own life just before the holidays this past December. He was well-loved and successful. So, we’re talking about anyone who can come to this place in their lives and we have to be more vocal and more mindful of what’s happening to our energy, to those around us, and to tap into the daily opportunity and practice of elevating our energy and our mindset.
The energy of a live session is always great! You can feel the difference between live and a recorded video. And you can give me a shout in the chat and send me your questions.
Then, at the end of the week, I’ll do a special Q&A where I can answer some of those and you can ask me about whatever questions come up for you around your energy field and what I’ve been sharing.
You have energy dynamics with your family, in your career and with people in your business, with your lover.
Feb 14 – don’t miss that one! Because I’ll be talking about the second energy center in the body and it relates to sex. If you’ve got some blocked energy there, for any number of reasons, you’re not going to be enjoying sex as much as you might like on Valentine’s Day. I’ll give you some tips and you’ll thank me later!
And, guys, you don’t have to be embarrassed about this. Most people in our culture have blocked energy in this area. Our culture has a lot of mixed signals, advertising, “This is tantalizing and sexy. Look at it,” followed by “Don’t look at it!”. It can be confusing, so don’t feel like you’re less of a man if you’ve got some blocked energy there for whatever reason. So, show up for the Live Facebook sessions next week and participate, or just listen. You’ll get a lot of information that will be helpful for you, and create more fun for you..more flow, more creativity, imagination, and your ability to enjoy your life.
In this episode, I give you a quick rundown of what I think is a helpful system for understanding the energy that moves through you and how it affects you. And then, here on the podcast, I’ll do a series of episodes moving through this system.
You may have heard the word “Chakra”. It’s an ancient Sanskrit word that means “wheel”. You can visualize this energy movement in your mind’s eye – like little spinning “wheels” at various points along your spine – the energetic highway of your body. And, you can feel the movement of this energy at the various points.
It’s easier when you can get a visual of what I’m describing.
Used with permission, William Vroman, Public domain, via Wikimedia CommonsUsed with permission, mpan, CC0, via Wikimedia CommonsBut, even if you’re not looking at that graphic, you can visualize this energy movement in your mind’s eye – like little spinning “wheels” at various points along your spine – the energetic highway of your body. And, you can feel the movement of this energy at the various points.
If you go deep into the study of it, there are different takes on the systems from different spiritual traditions, but we’re going to look at it as seven energy centers in the body. These centers correspond to their own frequencies of sound and light, and to various abilities and the kind of energy we need to process those abilities, both in our bodies and as a vibration we send into the world. I’ll go deeper into each of the seven centers both as stand-alone episodes here on the podcast, but also in the upcoming Live “Fireside Sessions” I mentioned. Those will be in a quicker sequence because I’m going to do one each day next week. Sign up!
Here’s an amazing song that embodies a wonderful movement of energy. Rhett Butler is a phenomenal guitar player who really understands the use of movement in music. I chose this song because of its dynamic range. Stop and allow yourself to feel the movement and the frequencies in your body.
12:00 – SONG: “Shindo Scale” – Rhett Butler, Guitarist – RhettButler.org
(features vocals by singer/songwriter Kelly Brown (aka Local Honey).
18:13 – Descriptions of each of the seven chakras and the way energy moves through them from the non-physical into the physical world. Light and sound are frequency and everything is energy.
The Seven Chakras:
Root
Sacral
Solar Plexus
Heart
Throat
Third Eye
Crown
If you haven’t already, subscribe to the podcast, right here at the top of this page, so you’ll be sure to catch the individual episodes in this series. You’ll learn about each one of the Chakras separately, in the way they vibrate within your body and how they affect you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s all about raising your awareness of who you are as a person and about bringing you into alignment with your most powerful Self, alerting you more quickly when you’re getting out of balance and moving off your center.
Why is that important? Because if you want to live at your highest level of excellence and joy, you have to become more aware of yourself and the energy you’re generating. You have the power to master that. To be the master of your own body, your own reality.
Most people live in a reactive state to the world around them. If you’re listening to this podcast, you’re not most people – that’s not the way you want to live. You are the one who leads others – so you have to understand the flow of energy within and around you. Once you have some of the basic concepts, it’s going to become easy. I don’t mean you won’t experience any upsets and get off balance. What I mean is that you will have mastery over your life in a way that allows you to see and feel that you are headed in a direction of being off-balance and you can self-correct. How much time, money, and heartache could that save you?!! And how much joy and abundance could it bring you to see more clearly how to head in the direction of what you do desire, rather than what you don’t?!
33:39 – Fun homework assignment! Use music to find the energy centers in your body. Learn how to draw in the highest quality energy.

• Song “Dark Sky” – my newly recorded song as The REALM – soon to be released. Hear it @ 21:34 in this episode
In this episode:
Do you actually think of yourself as powerful?
Most people don’t … because we all have that inner voice that can give us a beating at times … even when we’re really successful and we’ve achieved a lot of great things.
And, while we’re thinking on it … it seems a little pretentious, doesn’t it? POWERFUL…me?
I want to remove any idea that you’re not powerful and tell you that YES, YOU ARE!
And I want to tell you why and how. You deserve to feel FULLY ALIVE with vibrant, joyful energy!
Words matter. The word “powerful” means “full of power”. Why is that distinction important?
Well, for one thing, it takes the pressure off of YOU to achieve such a status and, instead, puts it on something you can easily access at any time. Like cranking up a fine-tuned motor.
The motor itself doesn’t have any power. It receives power. But, it only becomes useful when you direct it. Like driving yourself along coastal Highway 1 with the ocean by your side. Or winding your way up into the mountains towards a snowy peak.
That power leads to a feeling of FREEDOM. And you didn’t have to do a lot of hard work to feel it. You just directed the power in the engine to your goal of driving and received the feeling of freedom in return.
I hear from men all the time wanting to shift gears. Wanting to know how to take their life – or the dreams they’ve kept under wraps – and catapult into a new level of experience. A desire for a new experience in their intimate relationships, career, or a personal adventure to shake things up a bit. Because, they sense….there’s more.
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
Then, join me on anepic adventurethat will take you to that next level of experience and freedom you dream about.
I’ll be leading a small group of guys to Sedona, in April, to learn from the land. Literally. It’s a POWERFUL place where I learned, first hand, the connection that Native Americans have and how it can show you the path to manifest your desires.
And that transformation can happen fast – lightning fast. Because you’re putting yourself in an environment, and an experience, designed to create a quantum leap. It’s not a school of the intellect. It’s a direct line from the most potent energy field into your own “knowing”.
You’ll come away knowing what you didn’t know before without a bunch of mental “work” or study. And you’ll immediately be able to use it to bring your desires into your tangible, daily 3D reality.
This isn’t for everyone – and it’s an intimate gathering. Only a small number of guys, by application, are eligible to attend. All will have the understanding that they’re investing deeply in their own best interests, which will in turn, have a profound and loving effect on others in their lives.
I’ve had many Sedona experiences over quite a few years, and I promise you’ve never experienced anything like it. We’re gonna have a blast!

Public speaking is one of the greatest fears men face. Even if it’s just speaking up in a group of peers or stating your truth to an intimate partner, men can feel paralyzed when called to speak up. Learning to connect to the high-level vibration of Divine energy to increase your awareness and that of Earth energy to ground you is game-changing. Using powerful, unseen energy can give you the confidence to speak and make the difference in your success.• If this episode inspires you in some way, take a screenshot of you listening on your device and post it to your Instagram Stories, then tag me @kimberlycain.music.media.

In this episode:
Whether you’re thinking on it fondly or happy to give it the boot, there always seems to be an excitement around the coming of the new year.
So many resolutions are made that, come the end of January, have already been abandoned. So, here’s an alternative. NO RESOLUTIONS! Just enjoy the season, use it to reflect on what you’ve enjoyed in your life over the past year, or years, and would like more of. I want to touch on the thing, above all others, that will amplify & enlighten every area your life, giving you the knowledge of your abundance, whether you actually feel it or not – because sometimes we get in a funk. But, this knowledge will pull you out of the funk more quickly than anything else ever can.
That’s the recognition and the acceptance of Energy that is far more powerful than any of us is on our own. Making it a daily practice to engage will eventually feel like breathing – simple and completely necessary for life. And, the result will be a feeling of gratitude, no matter what circumstances may come your way.

Learning how to tap into Divine Energy as a sense of knowing you are here as a force to be reckoned with, how to ground yourself in Earth energy, so you feel stable and confident, and how to use your voice as a powerful conduit for good is life-changing.
I’ve talked with many guys who have shared with me privately, their fear around speaking out publicly. These are smart, successful, effective men in their jobs. Some of them sales guys who feel fine talking one-on-one, but when having to make a presentation, they’re overcome with fear, self-doubt, inability to know what to say or how to say it. One guy said he turns beet red, his face flushes with heat, and he’s overwhelmed with embarrassment when making presentations to his company.
If that sounds like you, you’re not alone. Believe me. Fear of public speaking ranks among the greatest fears people ever face. And I’m not necessarily talking about presentations before groups – it could just be speaking up in the presence of several other peers, or speaking your truth in your intimate relationships, even.
It can also be one of the greatest skills you can ever develop and will serve you well throughout your life and career. I’m not necessarily talking about becoming a public speaker – just a person who is capable of expressing yourself in any situation; being who you are, comfortable in your own skin.
This all relates to understanding unseen energies, lower-level vibrations that affect you and pull your thoughts down to a place where you are not as effective as you can be (even into depression) to the higher vibration of Divine Energy that is your fuel for being everything you can be.
Positive thinking, as a solution, doesn’t always work when you’ve already taken a dive into “bah humbug”. And, it’s inevitable that those moments are gonna come. Learning to accept it and knowing how to quickly shift, so you can get back to enjoying your life, are key. Fortunately, there are some handy tools for getting back “in the spirit” and in this quickie episode, I’ll help you gear up.• If this episode inspires you in some way, take a screenshot of you listening on your device and post it to your Instagram Stories, then tag me @kimberlycain.music.media.

In this episode:
I want to broaden the idea of “the spirit of the season” for you just a bit. Think about the phrase “spirit of the game” in sports or hearing someone say, “that’s the spirit” or “I can’t make the party, but I’ll be there in spirit”.
“Spirit” refers to the heart or the essence of something – the “core of existence” of that person, idea, concept or entity. So, what does it mean if you’re “not” in the spirit? If you’re not tapping into the truth or the reality of the thing?
Let’s face it, sometimes we’re not in the spirit of things – for whatever reason. Could be grief, detachment, stress – or a number of things. It can be that we float in and out of it. It happened to me tonight on my way to a rehearsal. In this episode, I share that story with you because I think it can be helpful to you when you experience this “falling out of the spirit” and into a mindset that doesn’t serve you well. Listen to learn how I quickly got back into the spirit of the season. You can use the same tool to get a quick shift!

Every year, for 13 years, I’ve had the privilege to be a part of an amazing eclectic holiday show produced by my sister, Kelly Brown. And, I thought I’d make December a month of sharing some behind-the-scenes from the show, because it touches on a lot of things – the business of creating a successful, long-running show and what it takes to do that as an entrepreneur. The leadership skills involved in wrangling a bunch of musicians, though they’re all top-notch professionals, is a feat, as we’re talking about pulling together a bunch of individual entrepreneurial souls to collaborate in a concentrated amount of time in order to make magic happen.
This is Part 1 of a 2-part conversation with Kelly.
Show Notes:
**Links to songs will be updated later today.
3:15 – Sisters!
3:40 – Introduction of Kelly Brown, Artist & Producer of The Local Honey Holiday Mix.
Kelly talks about what has been the driving force for her to continue producing such a time and labor intensive show for thirteen years. She considers it a gift to work and play with such talented, well-known artists.
6:30 – The inception of the show in 2006 and the way it has evolved into a tradition for many fans who have made the show a part of their holiday tradition year after year.
7:29 – Prior to the live show, we got so tired of hearing the same tired versions of Christmas songs, we finally recorded our first holiday CD.
8:24 – Frankly Scarlet’s recording of “Coventry Carol” was included on a compilation of holiday songs from Deep Ellum bands.
8:39 – Kelly purchased Pro Tools and learned it while recording the CD. Musicians loved being a part of it because the songs were joyful. Then, great producers like David Castell could come in and mix it. It’s been one of our most loved music offerings.
11:12 – Kelly talks about the process of making the decisions necessary to launch a large production and holiday music event. The first year, she collapsed from fatigue and learned a major lesson about pacing!
13:04 – SONG: “If We Make It Through December” – Local Honey from Jingle CD/music compilation – Get it on Apple Music
16:45 – Kelly talks about the choice to record “If We Make It Through December”. She tells a fun story about starting the process with Kenny Withrow (New Bohemians), going through a snow storm, adding Hunter Hendrickson to the mix, then cutting her favorite lick with her Telecaster. Reggie Rueffer’s fiddle tops it off.
19:30 – Kelly’s Wire-Fox Terrier, Winston, joins in the conversation.
20:04 – Having fun with great players capable of pulling off the Western swing the song calls for. Playing live with Chad Rueffer and Reggie Rueffer.
21:18 – Our first holiday CD, Rejoice, includes my favorite holiday song to perform – “Holiday Cheer”.
Kelly talks about how the song was born out of her work as a session singer, writing and recording for her client, The National Cheerleader Association, and their performance at the Hula Bowl.
23:30 – A Carpenter’s song started as a jingle and became a huge hit. Lots of silly mayhem ensues in this segment.
26:14 – SONG: “Holiday Cheer” (Live) – from the Jingle CD/music compilation – Get it on Apple Music
31:04 – The choice to record a song that I don’t like. Kelly doesn’t like it either! So…why? Kelly decided to straighten out the beat to see what would happen and the result is a cooler, sexier version of this classic that has remained a period piece recorded in the same way by a lot of artists…until now.
33:15 – SONG: “Santa Baby” – from the Jingle CD/music compilation – Get it on Apple Music
Kelly Brown, as a singer, has a wonderful ability to emote and bring the deep feeling from a song.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of this conversation with Kelly Brown, aka Local Honey, where we’ll dive deeper into entrepreneurship, leadership skills, and more on the talented musicians involved in the show.

SHOW TRANSCRIPT:
Hey, it’s Kimberly Cain & this is a Tune Your Vibes episode today.
I’ve got a special treat for you later in the show, so be sure to stick around to the end.
It’s Thanksgiving week in the U.S. & I’m so thankful for you, my listeners. And, even if you’re not celebrating Thanksgiving … (I have a lot of listeners in other parts of the world) – this episode is for you, too. I want to particularly shout out to my listeners in Australia, France, the UK, Japan, & Belgium. I’m thankful for all of you...wherever you are as you’re listening to this.
I may be catching you already in a thankful mode today…& that’s great. Or, you could be a bit challenged at the moment, feeling like things aren’t going quite the way you’d like.
Either way, you’ll eventually find yourself in the latter, because all of us vascillate between fulfillment & seeking fulfillment to varying degrees. You might even believe you’ve never felt completely fulfilled. I hope that’s not the case, but wherever you find yourself on that spectrum, I have a very simple exercise to help you shift your mindset in this area.
I’ve found thankfulness & gratitude to be one of the most powerful methods for getting a quick mindset shift. Make this a “go-to” exercise often enough & it will become a foundation for the way you live, instead of just something you hope to get to “one day” when everything is going smoothly.
When you’re on that downside, it can cause you to feel like you don’t have much to be thankful for – after all, nothing is going your way. So, the key is to shift the focus away from circumstances. And this is a good practice period because, if you’re used to tuning in to current events, you’ll note that the news media is not in the business of helping you feel thankful. Current circumstances do not necessarily equate with the truth of what is.
This is one of the reasons I chose to sit outside while talking with you today. So, you can see (if you choose to tune into the video) the beauty around me that I’m so thankful for. Even if you listen to the audio only, you can look around in your own environment & focus on the spaciousness. If everything around you is cramped & stifling, the first thing I’d like for you to do is get outside, even if it’s just for a short break. Find a place where you can walk or just sit & observe nature.
This is going to start the mental shift away from circumstances & into the larger world around you – into a world that sometimes seems to be hidden, though it’s right there in front of us.
If you watch the activity of birds for a bit, you’ll notice a carefree feeling…a sense of accessibility to all that’s around them. You & I have the same access to an abundant world.
Most of the time, though, we have to do some mental shifting to recognize it. We’re so used to focusing on circumstances as reality, that we forget there’s a much larger world around us with a different set of circumstances. So, the circumstances are ever shifting. What’s constant, though, is an underlying thread of peace, abundance, beauty, support, & love that we can choose as our focus.
What we focus on the most is what is going to become the more prominent energy presence in our lives.
Last week, my beloved aunt passed on unexpectedly. My family is all gathered together to celebrate her life. She had already been preparing food for our Thanksgi...

I love Halloween! It’s that time. And I am set! With crazy bags of candy and possibly a witch costume. We’ll see about that. Then we have Dia de los Muertos a couple of days after that.
I found a fun read about different celebrations around the world for honoring deceased loved ones. There are a lot of beautiful, fanciful, magical traditions - and one thing is clear - we all have a need to remember those who came before us in some way. And some of these traditions were born out of a need to acknowledge death or transition - because it is an inevitable part of our lives.
Halloween was born out of the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain to mark the beginning of winter. The Celts believed this time to be a marker for spirits to come out and destroy their vegetation, leaving a barren winter landscape. So, they would leave food and wine on their doorsteps to appease the spirits and wear masks, if they left the house, to blend in with them. In the 19th Century, Irish and Scottish immigrants in America began to revive these traditions with more of an emphasis on the trick-or-treating, rather than the religious introspection from their ancestry.
I found a fun read online at Smithsonian Magazine that lists seven festivals around the world if you’re interested in traveling to exotic places for their festivals of music and dancing - like the Obon Festival in Japan, where you see beautiful floating lanterns on the rivers, or Gai Jatra in Kathmandu.
A lot of our festivals have evolved into fun, with a blend of fear - because of our human experience with the unknown. We don’t know what we don’t know and that’s spooky! But, along with the fun, there’s a very real need to connect with the mystery of death - of “what happened” to our loved ones - to the question of “where they are” and “where will I go?”
4:32 - I’ve talked with a lot of men who really want to talk about these deeper mysteries, but don’t because…who are they gonna talk to? There’s a suppression in our culture, because we like to focus on the lighter, more fun side of life. And, especially for men, there’s the expectation of knowing how to fix things, how to handle things…but guess, what? Death will not be “handled”. It has its own say. And, if you leave it there, that can make you feel really powerless. HOWEVER…what you can handle is your perspective and your response.
Because there is a power so much greater than death…and that is Love. And the power you have, personally, is the ability to tap into Love - which overcomes ALL things - death and all manner of things that go bump in the night…like anxiety and worry and fear - be/c those are monsters unto themselves - and they can raise their heads on any given day or time…for any one of us.
5:43 - SONG: “Tell Me Walker” from Frankly Scarlet,
Guitarist, songwriter, & business owner, Mark Thomas, shares his wisdom on using music to open doors in both personal and business relationships, using music to relieve stress, create a balanced life, feel happier and more energetic. He has a lot of wisdom to share with men about following your passion and staying true to what matters most in life.
Mark's band, The Mojo Brothers, has recently released a music compilation that can be found on all the platforms where music is streamed. In this episode, you'll hear a couple of songs from that compilation, plus hear him play live, as we talk about the importance of music to us as individuals and as a culture.
Great music playlists, curated with a specific purpose in mind, can help you get to know yourself better. You can use music consciously and powerfully for healing, resurrecting dreams, awakening confidence and accessing your creative core.
Transcript / Show Notes:I’m Kimberly Cain. Welcome to the Naked Vibes Show. In this episode, I'll discuss the value of music playlists for self-discovery and living a more adventurous life - getting back to your core Self. If you’re new to the show, you’ll find it’s a blend of music and personal development because I love both and I know we all learn better when we’re able to relax our minds and have some fun in the mix. Some episodes of the show contain provocative conversations with musicians for stimulating your core creativity and inspiring you into greater levels of energy, conscious productivity and joy. And other episodes are what I call Tune Your Vibes, where I deliver some ideas and inspiration, and often some fun exercises to help you shift gears when you’re stuck, to enlarge your world by helping you see from more angles than you might have otherwise considered, and to help you recognize how amazing you are - to see how much the addition of your particular energy at work in the world matters in the grand scheme of things. And there’s always music involved. This is one of those episodes.

2:23 - I’ve was just listening to a playlist that swings from “No Quarter” (because a friend mentioned that song the other day and I hadn’t heard it in a while - awesome) to “Nina Cried Power” from Hozier (featuring the amazing Mavis Staples), to Midland with “Drinking Problem”, to a new one from Norwegian singer Sigrid, “It Gets Dark”, London Grammar’s “Missing”, which has some cool, interesting lyrics, and onto “Black Hole Sun” from Soundgarden. I wish I could play all of those for you…but, copyright issues. So, I have to stick to playing my own music and the music of those I know who have given me permission. But, I have other ways of getting those lists to you, so you can access them on your own. When I was a rock ’n roll DJ, I loved it, but I was constrained by corporate playlists. Now, I can mix up whatever I want to fit the mood I’m in or create the one I want to be in. Stick around and I’ll tell you how you can access some very cool, curated playlists later in the show.
3:30 - Music is the most mysterious, amazing, rapid form of healing. It has these energetic properties that are so powerful and unique and it touches us in places and ways where nothing else can. It travels across great distances and through time and gives us complete connection to one another, to the natural world and to the Divine. I love hearing stories about the way it transforms people.
As I mentioned in Episode 29, I’ll be getting back to bringing you conversations with musicians to take you deeper into their creative processes and inspire you to dive into your own, so you can continue to get to know yourself better and better.
Making yourself your own best friend has immeasurable benefits. I’ve always enjoyed personal growth and have delved into a lot of methods of self-discovery. It’s interesting how it has a way of deepening my compassion for others. As I understand more about myself, I understand more about you. And I grow to care for you even more. We’re human and we go through many of the same joys and pains, even though they come wrapped in different packages.
I’m hearing a common thread from people in regard to their feelings about life on this side of the pandemic.
A lot of people have experienced, and are still experiencing, a great deal of hardship in a lot of different areas. I’ve experienced my own and even though it can feel very isolating - ...
I was recently at a podcasting convention, Podcast Movement, where I got to see a lot of cool new recording gear and meet a lot of great people. I was at an expo booth talking to a guy about video gear and somewhere in our conversation, I mentioned that I lost my father a couple of years ago.
Our conversation turned to the recent loss of his dad & the grief he was feeling. It was very fresh for him. He said he hadn’t really shared that with anyone. When I told him how much I could feel my dad with me in Spirit, still encouraging me, his face lit up with joy and he expressed how much relief he felt in hearing that.
We laughed about it and the conversation and connection went much deeper because we were able to be vulnerable, instead of just having the same conversation he was having most of the day about gear.
5:14 - SONG: Love Remains - from Local Honey's Late Bloomer CD

Welcome to Season 3 of The Naked Vibes Show!
:50 - Seeking to know yourself, sleuthing unmet desires, and tapping into your highest Self should always be a fresh experience. I read a morning devotional that contains works written in the 1800’s and 1920’s and the authors’ experiences still ring true today. The works we create now can inform others throughout the ages, if we seek to share truth, higher knowledge, and comfort. Along with good humor and provocative works of art!
2:30 - If you allow grief and loss to work in you, to inform you about who you have been in relation to those loved ones or circumstances that have passed, it will help you move into the future of who you are becoming.
3:00 - Everything and everyone in the whole world has shifted. We’re going through all kinds of changes and it helps to realize we’re doing it together. No one is alone in the experience.
3:25 - I’m inspired to rev up the Naked Vibes Show again because Podcast Movement is happening next week & I’m excited to be a part of that mix. There will be so many people there who put out a lot of energy to help others move the needle towards more success & fulfillment in their lives, and we can all learn from each other.
4:10 - Todd Cochrane, CEO of Blubrry, interviewed me on Podcast Insider. That conversation was also part of the inspiration for me to go ahead & dive into my next season now. You can hear that interview here. You’ll find it at 16:18 in that show.
5:46 - The Naked Vibes Show has two different types of episodes: Artist Conversations and Live Music to inspire and entertain you. And the Tune Your Vibes episodes, which provide you with tools for living an amazing life. I’m a Certified High Performance Coach and a Remo Drums HealthRHYTHMS facilitator and I’ve got plenty of ways to help you get a lot more satisfaction and joy from life.
7:00 - It would be helpful for you to let me know what you want most. What are your greatest needs right now? What are you struggling with? The more I know, the more I can address it specifically. Email me: info@ nakedvibes .com. (No spaces. Just hoping that will cut down on spam 🙄)
7:30 - I’m working on a way to engage in more group conversation, as opposed to just one-way delivery of inspiration. It’s a private group called REALMen Rock! designed for successful, creative men to come together for inspiration, for finding comrades to walk the sometimes treacherous journey of life and bring as much joy to it as possible. I’ll share tools for learning new ways to reduce stress, to flow around the obstacles you face, to communicate better with your spouse or partner and have much greater intimacy, to be a better dad, to move through creative blocks… So, yeah, we’ll be talking about body, mind, and spirit - learning how to tap into your highest levels of Energy in areas of sexuality, spirituality, health, & leadership.
Unlike a Facebook group where you’re distracted with ads and not really sure if it’s secure, this is a proprietary platform created just for this private group because safety and privacy are a must. You’ll be able to connect with each other, including through video if you like. You’ll be able to share with me the kinds of issues that are most pressing for you in the moment and I can address those. I’ll be able to bring in guest experts to really tap into what you need most.
You know there will be MUSIC - always gotta have music! If this interests you, sign up for news here on the site. My subscribers will be the first to know when the doors open to REALMen Rock!
Oh…AND we’ll have a specific, private space for entertainment business professionals to connect as well.
11:15 - I’ve been recording new music as The REALM and I’m super excited for you to hear it! I just finished a song I wrote called “Dark Sky”. I’d been working on it prior to my daughter’s passing and when that happened, everything shut down and I went into a season of hibernation, grief,
It's not just one particular profile that makes a good man, but a combination of characteristics. Men's Leadership Mentor, Dean Brown, shares some essential ingredients for helping men step into their personal power, claim their leadership role, and develop fulfilling relationships, both business and personal.
A recent conversation with a friend made me aware that men are more hungry than ever for leadership mentoring. Continually shifting and uncertain times have left you unsure of where you stand in the world of business and personal relationships with women and how you can best lead others.
Dean Brown. Men's Leadership lessons...always listening, teaching, encouraging.
Dean Brown mentored thousands of people in his life and I thought it would be helpful to share a conversation I recorded with him during a Men's Leadership Mastermind.
Dean is my father and he passed on last year. He still has much wisdom to share through videos and audio recordings, though. He not only mentored and guided many men in their roles as leaders, he was also responsible for saving the lives of more than a few. I think you'll enjoy hearing the insights of a man who was highly successful as a business owner and entrepreneur, as a husband and father, and as a spiritual mentor. The fact that his wife of 51 years adored him and his daughters considered him their best friend says a lot about his ability to honor women and to lift them up in ways that only a strong, confident, and secure man can do. Guys, take notes!
Show Notes:4:48 - Leaders are willing to step into the unknown, bringing their whole selves along for the ride. The dance of masculine/feminine energies is always at work - yin/yang. There's not such thing as "just business". People do business, so that makes everything personal. Two sides to the same coin.
6:15 - Men's leadership is particularly important at this time because as many women step into leadership roles, we need men to stand in their masculine energy to ground our changing world. Masculine power is a gift, not a competitive power to the feminine. Together, we make an integrated whole. Dean was a powerful mentor and example of men's leadership at its best because he was a masculine man with the ability to share his compassion and his love with everyone around him. He understood that his receptive skills were equally important to his skills and his success as a proactive leader.
10:53 - Dean shares some stories of life-changing events that propelled him into his role as a public speaker, leader and mentor.
Dean Brown - lifelong teacher, men's leadership mentor
14:05 - As a young professional, Dean was approached to lead a group of teens and was initially reluctant, but he recognized that he had a responsibility to step up as a leader. It led him to a love of inspirational and motivational speaking that became a lifelong passion.
Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value.Albert Einstein
Dean Brown - Business Owner, Entrepreneur
17:00 - Dean talks about the importance of developing listening skills in order to become more successful in business. He describes the need, from his experience working with a crisis center, to be discerning with people who pull you down with unrelenting talk about their problems. You have to learn how to know when to engage in deep listening.
19:15 - Men can have a hard time listening to women. Dean describes some of the reasons for this and why, in helping others to step into men's leadership roles, he considers it vital to master your mindset in this area if you want to be successful in your business and personal relationships.
21:15 - We have many different personality styles and ways of approaching things. We may need to examine our views of the other gender to recognize men and women have equal value as human beings. Our roles have changed drastically since our origins of man as hunter/gatherer and woman as nurt...
The Naked Vibes Show has been on hiatus for a little while & I’m ready for resurrection. How about you?
This feels like the right time – as this week is special for many people. In the Christian and Jewish faith traditions, it’s Holy Week – the time of Good Friday, Passover, and Easter. There are traditions celebrated by other faiths this month as well. Also, in most of the Northern Hemisphere, it’s Spring – a time of rebirth, rejuvenation, and renewal – no matter what your faith orientation. It’s fall in most of the Southern Hemisphere, by the way. I don’t want to leave you out – that’s another time of transition.
So, the reason for my hiatus... I was the primary caretaker for my father for a couple of years, during which he was challenged by cancer. I needed to, and chose to, put my whole focus on him. He was a vibrant person. So full of life, despite the circumstances. He passed on last year and I’ve needed time to recuperate and grieve the loss.
But here’s why this is a perfect time to bring on a new season of The Naked Vibes Show. My dad was my champion. He was my friend and mentor. He believed in me, loved me unconditionally, and continued to tell me so until he passed.
He cherished the creative spirit he saw and, along with my mother, cultivated in me and my sister. He fully expected me to rise up and continue inspiring others through their challenges and celebrating in their joys, just as he always did.
Kelly's Cross - watercolor by KB Cain
This is a time of resurrection, both in faith traditions and in nature. I did a podcast episode in March 2018 on the Life-Renewing Energy of Easter. You can take a listen to that episode here if you’d like to dive a little deeper into the energy of resurrection and renewal – what I call the Christ energy - and how it’s different from a lot of religious thinking.
This is also a strange time in the world right now. We’re in the middle of a global pandemic due to a Coronavirus. A lot of people are afraid – afraid of job loss, loss of loved ones, of their own health & well-being, of the daily working of life as we know it, and mostly, I think, loss of control. Though we never truly have control over most things outside of our own thoughts and actions, we often perceive that we do. A situation like this puts it right in our faces. We don’t.
So, I’d like to give you a few things to hold onto, to ponder, or to lift you up.
Think of the worst things you’ve gone through to date. Not to bring you down. Not to dwell on. But, as a reminder that you made it through. You survived. Think on the ways you’re better for what you went through. Granted, it may have been a hell that you don’t want to repeat. But, I believe we can always find seeds of good in our experiences, seeds that grow us into stronger individuals.Understand the difference between inconvenience, or discomfort, and real pain. I promise you will find Love waiting for you – in the most beautiful and unexpected ways.If you’re afraid of death – for yourself or someone you love – know this. It is inevitable that we will all reach that place – the place where we leave and transcend this physical body. Because it is part of the cycle of life,
Hit Songwriter, Producer & Performing Artist, Billy Yates “does his rockin’ on the stage”! The healing power of music is Billy Yates' ministry & with songs recorded by George Jones, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans & more, plus two concurrent shows in Branson, he stays busy evangelizin’. I had the privilege of connecting with Billy for a conversation & impromptu guerrilla style video shoot between his shows - the powerhouse Raiding the Country Vault concert & the more intimate Hit Songwriters in the Round. It was awesome to sit with him while he performed some of his hit songs in the theater setting before the crowd arrived. He shares his insights regarding our human vulnerabilities & how songs provide a vehicle to alleviate loneliness & suffering as well as lifting us into joy. Be sure to catch the moment when, during the Raiding the Country Vault concert, I knew I had to have him on The Naked Vibes Show! Enjoy the show on NAKED VIBES TV:
SHOW NOTES (times are for audio): 4:33 - Billy Yates talks about moving to Nashville to pursue his dream of being a singer, finding great songwriters to mentor him, & recording his first song that was eventually recorded by George Jones. 5:03 - LIVE ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE: Billy Yates plays the intro to “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair”, recorded by George Jones. The song won a CMA Event of the Year. 5:57 - “I do my rockin’ on the stage” is one of my favorite lines from this song. The song became an anthem, not only for Jones, but for many of his older fans who intended to keep livin’ large! George Foreman was a huge fan & appeared in a video for the song. 6:38 - Julia Cameron talks about, in The Artist’s Way, the importance of starting anything you desire to do at any age. It’s never too late! 7:18 - Billy Yates’ show is about to start at his theater, where we’re recording, so there’s a lot of activity in the room. He talks about the evolution of becoming a songwriter in Nashville by singing on song demoes for other writers. They encouraged him on the value of his gift for phrasing. He had to learn the craft to tap into his skill for writing lyrics & melodies. 9:04 - Frank Dycus & Dean Dillon were instrumental in Billy’s development as a songwriter. He’s written & recorded many songs with them & says he most enjoys the friendships & feels like it’s therapeutic to collaborate, putting a puzzle together with others & having fun in the process. 10:09 - Billy talks about the inception of the creative process as a gift from God. He’s dreamed complete songs - when he wakes up & records them, he knows it’s coming from something beyond him. 11:11 - Music is healing. We don’t think about how important it is to our lives. Songs help us to feel less alone, uplift us when we’re down, & often teach us to see ourselves. 11:45 - Billy Yates likes writing from a first person perspective because it helps the listener connect with the artist. He knew his song “Choices” had to be recorded by someone who could really own it & allow themselves to be very vulnerable in performing it. George Jones made it a hit. 12:34 - All human beings have the same experiences - pain, joy, hardship, love - even though they may come in different shades. This is how even the solo writing experience becomes collaborative with the recording artist, making it their own by bringing their personal experiences & emotions to it. 13:23 - “Choices” was written Billy Yates with Mike Curtis, a great piano player & melody writer. He was coming to Billy’s house to write & Billy didn’t have a piano. Billy told him, “We’ve got three chords & the truth; that’s all we’ve got today!” Though they didn’t have George Jones in mind when writing the song, they eventually approached him with it because Billy felt like it was a song that offered healing.
14:00 - Billy knew the song would eventually find its way to the right artist. It took some time before it was recorded. When he was touring with Alan Jackson,
Drummer Dale Baker shares insights from recording & performing with platinum artists Sixpence None The Richer to his new solo venture as singer/songwriter with The Maudlin Fee.
Dale performed with my sister, Kelly Brown, & me in Frankly Scarlet prior to his time with Sixpence. So we've got some good stories & laughs for you in this episode! We cover a range from secret crushes - to falling short as human beings - to Dale's dealings with church pastors rockin' six-pack abs. Yeah.
Dale goes deep & shares much about his spiritual journey, his questions & reckoning with ideas around sexual "sin", & the benefits of being a masculine man with soft edges.
Dale is an artist, a dedicated musician, & an all-around beautiful guy. I can't wait for you to hear his new music as The Maudlin Fee in this episode. You're gonna dig it.
SHOW NOTES: 2:52 - Dale talks about songwriting as a new creative venue & realizing the difficulty of being the “front person” in a band. Stretching his creative muscles to learn to play guitar, write, & sing has brought the joy back into music for him. 5:27 - I’ve realized how physical it is to be the drummer in a band as I learn to play them myself! Successful entertainers work hard to make it look easy. 7:30 - Dale talks about what made him finally get the nerve to do his own project. He shares the urgency brought on by the loss of loved ones, realizing the brevity of time & life. 10:25 - Julia Cameron & The Artist’s Way - discussion of the ways all creative people get shut down by others. It’s never too late to start learning new ways of expressing yourself. 11:47 - Dale talks about the challenge of starting The Maudlin Fee to push through his shyness. He’s getting more & more comfortable with failing in order to get better. 13:02 - I’m always experimenting - combining rock music with meditation because it’s my background, even though it’s not the norm. If I’m feeling it, other people probably are, too. 15:23 - Affirmation is nice, but Dale’s goal is more about joy & the excitement of being alive. 16:31 - Songs that didn’t exist prior to writing. We’re making a difference as we create. From his work with Frankly Scarlet, Sixpence None The Richer, & now The Maudlin Fee, Dale is adding to the creative history of our world. As artists, we all create this rich landscape. 17:41 - Experiencing a friend doing new things, you get to know them in a new way. 18:18 - SONG: Lily of Valley 22:42 - Dale shares the story behind the song & how he can tie the percussion directly to his time playing in Frankly Scarlet with my sister, Kelly, & me. He describes the influence of Jonatha Brooke & talks about his perception of the 16th note pattern “train beat”. 25:06 - Energy of collaboration. Other artists & friends have also had a direct impact on his solo project. The drummer who recorded "Lily of the Valley" with him was a big influence, pulling him into the world of percussion when he was at the University of North Texas. Dale taught me a lot about playing percussion as well. We’re all more tied to one another than we even realize. 27:54 - Importance of having a great drummer behind you as a front person. Dale has had the experience now, so we laugh about the fact that even he doesn’t always know what to say to another drummer to make it work when it’s not jiving! 30:40 - Dale brought Richard Rohr to my attention & a video on his website about the healing power of rhythm. It turned out that Rohr was highlighting Christine Stevens, my trainer as a Remo Drums HealthRhythms facilitator. Christine said, “Music is the language of diplomacy of the future.” Remo has researched the effects of drumming on the body, as well as its ability to dissipate tension between people. 32:56 - Rohr & men’s initiation rights. Dale talks about Rohr’s series on sexuality & gender. For those who don’t fit the ideals, where do they fit in? Dale has become comfortable with his masculinity,

Spending the time in natural settings allows you to experience the magic of life. You’ll find that you solve problems more easily by making this a practice for yourself. 9:50 - Einstein integrated play time into his schedule as a part of creating wholeness in his work & life. He understood the role of play in genius. 11:11 - You can’t operate & thrive at your highest level without connecting body, mind, spirit. Don’t be afraid of the spiritual part of this. You have to plug into a power source that’s greater than your own mind in order to draw new energy & ideas. 12:19 - Challenge: Make it a regular practice to spend at least an hour allowing yourself to get into the natural rhythm & flow of nature in order to develop your greatest skills. 12:59 - Tree Frog - The sounds of nature are the music for this podcast episode. The visual aspect of the surrounding creatures are like the moving sheet music of a symphony. 14:26 - Exercise for coming into greater levels of strength, creativity, & productivity. It’s a prescription for being less busy & more productive at the same time. 15:24 - The beautiful, mysterious call of the owl. 16:14 - High performers want to do all they can to increase overall levels of excellence. Prayer allows us to reach for higher levels to connect to the truth of who we are & all we can be. It’s the way to plug into the highest Source of strength & energy. Dean Lindsay dares you to ask, "What's possible?" He's a multi-talented business thought leader, drawing from his background in performance & songwriting in order to be helpful to others. Dean has performed for audiences all over the world as a vocalist for Up With People. He's authored three business books and has much to share on the ways we can all make a difference in our own lives and in the world. Infusing music into his presentations for corporate and teen organizations alike is just one of the ways he intends to rock your world.
SHOW NOTES: 2:56 - Story of Dean’s return to music after a few years away from the craft.
3:41 - Rock music is meditation for those of us who come from that background.
4:39 - Dean’s journey through meditation courses with The Art of Living. The breathing exercises he learned helped him reduce stress when he most needed it. As a thought leader and performer, breath exercises are essential for staying centered.
9:16 - SONG: “Long Breath In”
15:00 - Remo Drums HealthRhythms® - a drumming protocol backed by scientific evidence for reducing stress, releasing cancer-fighting cells into the bloodstream & promoting overall health & wellness. My trainer in this protocol is a long-time friend & colleague of Dean's. Christine Stevens was instrumental in putting Dean in front of audiences all over the world as a solo vocalist in Up With People. Dean talks about how he pushed through the fear that was holding him back prior to this experience.
17:46 - Musical training & performing has helped Dean in business applications, as a thought leader, & with the understanding of people & how to be most helpful & compassionate. He talks about Love as an essential attribute in life & business & the misconception that it's a frufru concept. It promotes curiosity & growth. It manifests in respect & willingness.
20:41 - Big Phat Goals is being embraced by, not only corporate groups, but also teen organizations. The audio version of the book contains the song, “Long Breath In”.
22:23 - It’s never too late & there is never a wrong time to connect with music & creativity. Dean talks about the importance of reconnecting to this energy in his own life & the meaning of being a "whole person".
27:32 - Building a business presentation uses essentially the same tools as writing a song. It’s all “stating your case”.
28:00 - Dean’s message comes from a spiritual place. It’s not a religious message, but it carries a message of encouragement & progress.
Self-talk is powerful & Dean endeavors to teach people how to transform the way they see & talk to themselves.
30:22 - Instead of moving from “negative” to “positive” thinking, Dean explains that the next best step can be to move from “negative” to “possible”. It may be a very small step that progresses you into the positive. Dare to be all you’re made to be.
33:26 - Walking with no headphones, no buddies, no other distractions leads to greater clarity & broader perspectives. It's an essential tool for creativity.
34:45 - Dean is no longer looking to write "good" songs, but to write "helpful" songs. We can use music to create better health for ourselves & better lives. Music is a very intimate medium of communication & can reach places in people like nothing else can.
37:13 - Songs or other manifestations of creativity can often become the “friend” to another person in their darkest moment. Once you release your creation into the world, it becomes its own entity with a life of its own.
39:38 - Dean shares the story of performing his song, “Can’t Fight The Devil On Your Own”, at the House of Blues, which led to a songwriting connection with the group, The Relatives. The son of the group’s founder explained that his father always wrote songs from a “place of suffering” & this impacted Dean’s own writing.

The Difference Between Belief And Faith Have you ever had what you might call a spiritual crisis? Or what’s sometimes called a dark night of the soul?
I have. And what I’ve learned through those circumstances is that there is a real difference between belief and faith.
I grew up with belief in a loving God. I had loving parents & extended family, so that belief came easily. But then more life happened – experiences in the larger world – out from under the shelter of my immediate family – experiences that challenged my beliefs.
I don’t remember exactly when it happened, but at some point I noticed the voices & ideas of religious leaders that spoke of a God I had never heard of – one who was mainly concerned with who He would allow into Heaven & who He would keep out. And these leaders clearly believed they had a direct line to that information. Over time, the voices got louder & louder.
This caused a spiritual crisis for me. The thoughts & ideas I encountered were so incongruent with my own that I began searching for new ways to express my spiritual self. I felt like the word “Christian” had been hijacked & was no longer a fitting description.
This was one of the driving influences for writing my novel, Heaven. It’s irreverent because I felt an irreverence to the brand of Christianity I was encountering. The novel is about the nature of God as seen through the eyes of an exotic dancer. People have asked me, "Why a stripper?" Because the lead character, Eve, is stripping off the brand. That brand of Christianity that I felt like I was experiencing and that I still see so prevalent in our culture.
There's a quote that's been attributed to Ghandi. I don't know if he actually said it or not. "I like your Christ, but I don't like your Christians." It's not my intent to lump every Christian into the same category, because we all have different thoughts and ideas. This isn't so much a categorization of people as it is a description of a brand of religious thought.
Interestingly, as I studied other religions & scientific thought, my beliefs changed & broadened to encompass, not less God, but more of God – a much larger God capable of embracing all people, everywhere, engaged in every type of sacred thought.
Did I feel a sense of fear that I was losing my “belief”? Yes, I did. But the payoff was that I grew - as a spiritual being having a human experience.
6:36 - SONG: "Heaven" - written & performed by Kimberly Cain, from the soundtrack to the novel (available only as a bonus included in the book. Get it here: Heaven, the novel & cd or on ITunes as a single.
I’ve come to see belief as a function of the mind - & the circumstances that inform the mind change over time, so it stands to reason that extremely painful experiences can challenge our beliefs. Cultural shifts & new discoveries in science, history, medicine, psychology, & so on, can also bring new perspectives on our long-held beliefs. Unless we want to hold so rigidly to beliefs that no longer serve us & actually prevent us from growing & living up to our potential, we may have to experience some pain with these shifts.
If belief is a function of the mind…faith is a function of the spirit. It doesn’t rely on circumstances or knowledge, from the intellect. Don’t worry – we don’t have to throw out the mind & get weird about “blind faith” being a danger here. I’m talking about the higher principle of Love at work – as an energy that is pervasive, regardless of what anyone believes or understands at any point in time.
I learned, when writing Heaven, that there is an inherent mystery in the Divine, that cannot be captured & put on paper or into speech. It cannot be apprehended by any person & explained in human terms. It can only be experienced. And this experience leaves a knowing. Not a knowing of any fact or belief. Just simply a knowing of its existence (in whatever form you want to describe it – because it is formless – so any form is only ...
Guitarist, songwriter, & producer, Jamey Perrenot, shares adventures of his christening into rock superstardom while touring Argentina with Guardian, to his experience in the studio with a female WWE champion, to the spiritual works that have most deepened his faith.
He shares some sweet moments playing acoustic guitar live from his Nashville studio in this episode, along with some rockin' songs written for upcoming films. As you'll hear, we had too much fun, so I'll just have to invite Jamey back for another round.
SHOW NOTES: 3:23 - Jamey talks about how he makes his songwriting collaborators comfortable in the sometimes uncomfortable moments of getting started on a project. Great tip for applying to relationships in any area, both personal and business! 7:23 - Challenging communication requires us to become fully present in order to come to resolutions. 8:05 - Writing songs for movies adds a new level of collaborative effort. Jamey talks about the process of creating music for pictures. 9:57 - SONG: Excerpt from “Help Me” performed by Kat Perkins (from The Voice). Producers/Songwriters, Jamey Perrenot & Sean Gasaway. 11:16 - Stories about Jamey’s experiences playing guitar and touring with LeAnn Rimes. 13:20 - Bands and collaborative partnerships can be like a marriage, sharing intimate parts of ourselves with one another and allowing our vulnerability to open the door to creativity. 13:45 - Guys who know how to hang well with women. Why do some men know how to do it while others create sexual friction (and not in a good way)? 16:15 - Jamey’s experience working with WWE superstar, Mickie James. She’s a cool chick who wrestles and sings and…FYI…she can throw a grown man down! 18:14 - Jamey works with a lot of women as a producer in the studio and as a touring musician. The current climate of sexual harassment accusations that have been coming out regularly in the news affects men as well as women. He talks about the way it’s affected him. #MeToo 20:42 - Intentions make all the difference in the way we, as men and women, interact with one another. We have to use compassion and discretion in allowing people to be themselves, in addition to being strong enough to draw clear boundaries when necessary. 26:45 - Jamey hasn’t personally witnessed abuse. I wonder if it could be that the presence of an upstanding guy prevents other guys with ill intentions from acting on them. 29:33 - We need men to be men. The interplay of the masculine and feminine is creative energy and it’s very powerful. We all need the freedom to express ourselves, but in order for that to occur, we must create an environment of trust. Men who create an environment of genuine safety get to experience the best and most playful feminine energy because women know they are respected and loved. 32:17 - LIVE ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE - Jamey plays the intro to “Almost Home”, recorded by Guardian Sign up for Kimberly's newsletter to stay in the know about upcoming videos, courses, performances, & more! Get it on ITunes. 42:50 - The inspiration behind “Firefly”. Many songs “coincidentally” turn out to have a meaning that was never intended when the writing began. 44:00 - Influences of Dr. Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, and The I Am Discourses open up creative spiritual thinking and eventually deepen our faith in more traditional spiritual works like the Bible. 47:00 - People need Good News, but they often think spirituality shouldn’t be connected to money.

There's always a story behind the song. Christmas & holiday music can really set the tone for our gatherings & our overall feeling around this sacred time of year. We know this, innately, in our spirits. 25:04 - SONGS: “Coventry Carol” & “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” 32:27 - SONG: Now for some sexy! “Santa Baby” 36:18 - SONG: “Mary, Did You Know” (Live from the Local Honey Holiday Mix) 41:11 - Intentional awareness of love saves us. 42:15 - No matter what path we’re taking, putting our attention on our spiritual life can make the greatest difference. Want more? Abundance begins with gratitude for what you have now. It's rare to find a person who doesn't want more than he already has. It's part of the human condition. And, that's fine, because it drives us to be our best. The thing is, it can also rob us of our happiness.
When we spend our time wanting, never recognizing what we already have, we're choosing to experience a state of lack. That mindset can last a lifetime. Because, most often, what we "get" isn't quite what we thought it would be, so we have to start "wanting" again.
Gratitude will get you out of that loop, pronto. Start saying "thank you" in your heart. It'll free your mind.

Brian talks about the “servant” mentality & the integrity of bringing your own creative contribution while also serving the other person or project. 5:41 - Bands strive for democracy, but in reality, someone has to rise up into a position of leadership. A lot of bands fail when they lack this understanding. 6:15 - A band that’s operating well is a great example of deep listening skills. If the players don’t engage in the practice of deep listening, it’s a train wreck. 6:56 - Being in a band forces individual players to do things they wouldn’t have done otherwise - to stretch their creative limits. 7:16 - Some bands stand the test of time because they work out their understanding of roles & allow a leader to emerge that brings a cohesiveness. Successful businesses of any kind operate this way. The principles apply in successful marriages as well. 8:00 - Our culture is well-versed at the active principle - making our voices heard. We need more practice with the receptive principle - really listening, so we can respond better. 8:11 - How does Brian listen for creative inspiration? He explains that it’s spiritual & internal, yet it’s undefined. It suddenly appears & then he has to grab onto it, work it, & grow it. 9:08 - The genesis of ideas works the same way for entrepreneurs. When you open yourself to new possibilities, you find the idea or answer has been right in front of you all along. 9:32 - Be open to the understanding that knowledge & the creative spark appear instantly, so you can grasp it when it does. It’s a primal force & all of our good emotions & intentions come from this same place. 10:14 - LIVE MUSIC: “Penance” by Brian Miller. • Rhythmic Movement Meditations - Music is scientifically proven to provide health benefits in every area of life. Loneliness is a growing problem in our global society. You're not alone in your feelings of loneliness. Learn a simple exercise to help you connect to your own powerful essence & to your community in this Tune Your Vibes segment of The Naked Vibes Show. SHOW NOTES: 1:36 - A financially successful, mid-30’s entrepreneur confesses the problem of his growing loneliness over the last decade. 2:48 - Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging & the Courage to Stand Alone by Brene Brown, PhD. Studies show 20% of the U.S. population reported feelings of loneliness in the 1980’s. Today, that has doubled & rates of reported loneliness are growing rapidly around the world. 3:17 - Brown says sorting ourselves further & further into groups of like-minded people, rather than growing our sense of belonging, is creating a greater effect of lonleliness. She titles one of her chapters, People are hard to hate close up. Move in. 4:36 - The less we learn about others, the more likely our compassion for them is diminished. The practice of listening allows you to hear what’s not being said & creates deeper levels of understanding. 5:30 - Livestream event with Radical EvolutionAry Love Makers, aka The REALM, featuring Kimberly Cain & Brian Miller. A recorded segment from the live presentation, Harmony & Foreplay. 7:01 - Balance System helps you understand how to bring yourself back into balance when you feel pulled off center by daily stressors. Why do you want to do this? Because it creates more pleasure! 8:15 - Exercise: Experience the calming effect of tuning, in harmony, to the breath of another person. 10:55 - Brian accompanies Kimberly, with haunting guitar, on a spoken word journey that moves from broken systems into peace. This connects the use of primal energy as spiritual awakening + conscious use of intuition & creativity. 15:24 - You’re not alone - however, connection requires you to lean in to others & move through the discomfort you may feel when you're not in agreement. It can lead to moments of intimacy you never imagined & healing on an exponential level. 16:28 - The Christ Consciousness is the most powerful energy available to us, as Love never dies. Jesus taught us how to elevate our energy to the highest levels of spiritual mastery. He said, "I AM with you always". 17:52 - Relax into ending conflict within the self, between one another, & in the world as a remedy for loneliness. Rhythmic Movement Meditations get you connected & aligned in your body & your spirit to help awaken your energy. Music is scientifically proven to provide health benefits in every area of life. The Naked Vibes Show features conversations with musicians, artists & healers to ignite your creative genius & elevate you in your spiritual growth. This episode features juried artist, Gloria Newton, from a conversation in her Nashville studio. This audio was taken from the Naked Vibes TV episode where Gloria joined me to show her art & talk about the creative process, the fact that it's never too late to dive in to your creativity, & more. Enjoy the show on NAKED VIBES TV:
SHOW NOTES (times are for audio podcast) 2:10 - Gloria Newton, artist, says she got started late in the game. Julia Cameron, in The Artist's Way, talked about how she'd still be the same age in ten years, but wouldn't know how to play the piano, so it's right to get started at any age.
3:05 - Gloria explains how the “unknown” is what keeps her going in her creative work.
3:45 - Most people fear the unknown. Gloria did at one time, but her art has taken her beyond it. She talks about what shuts us all down & the revelation of what breaks us free.
4:38 - Where do the ideas come from?
5:37 - The key to making anything work. It’s all about the foundation.
6:30 - The creative process itself brings freedom. The project reveals its self when we just do the job of putting the elements down.
7:29 - Is there really destruction - or is it just another beginning?
8:01 - Fear of death - fear of killing off our creations (our lives). Moving through it takes us to bold new levels.
11:30 - As an abstract painter, Gloria feels like she often goes into a Zen-like state, a place of none-thinking, during her sessions. Other times, she can’t get there. The process can be hard, but she keeps at it because she doesn’t know where she would be without it.
12:29 - The promise of new ideas emerging on their own - things she could never have thought of unless she was in the process - compels Gloria to keep going when it gets hard.
12:51 - Gloria studied art history & was influenced by Helen Frankenthaler, Paul Klee, Pollack, Gorky.
13:51 - We’re inspired by what goes in, so it comes out in new ways. It’s a total life. All of our experiences are valuable, more fluid than we realize.
14:47 - Gloria doesn’t like to put a finite definition on her work, but abstract towards non-objective probably comes the closest. It comes from an emotional place.
15:12 - Labels - we use them in order to communicate, but we’re all richer & more complex than that.
15:52 - Gloria’s paintings have been in juried shows: Huntsville Museum, Parthenon, Columbia State solo show. You can see the video from the Columbia show here. (soon to come)
16:29 - Gloria’s two-sided works - you can walk around them. Painted on wood panel & suspended from ceilings or mounted on bases - sometimes rotating on a ball bearing. Her husband, Wood Newton, builds her frames, which are also a work of art.
18:41 - The use & blending of color is one of Gloria’s finest talents & skills. Her favorite medium is acrylic & she uses all kinds of tools & techniques to bring depth & curiosity to her work, such as the placement of objects, wire, & windows that reveal secondary paintings within the primary piece.
19:23 - It seems many artists have particular mediums that work better for them than others - mediums that flow better as extensions of their bodies, even.
21:03 - A little hidden key in one of Gloria’s paintings brings a squeal of delight from moi!
23:43 - Collective consciousness - does art want to be born through us, therefore coming through the artist most receptive at the time & with the skills to manifest it?
24:19 - A new technique is born through the accidental puncturing of one of Gloria’s paintings.
27:07 - The piece that feels like it comes from a spiritual place for Gloria.
28:07 - Gloria likes to watch tennis while she paints. She’s inspired by her favorite player, Rafael Nadal, & I imagine he’d be inspired by her work as well!

Why does it get such good ratings? 5:50 - Porn, used to take the place of intimacy in marriage, eventually leads to desensitization. 6:56 - Why do we have to engage in intimacy? Why can’t we just f*#k, already?! When you create intimacy, you can have both. It’s up to you to create it. 8:10 - Daily spiritual practice can bring new ways of seeing & experiencing yourself & the other person. 9:24 - Falling in & out of love is not a real thing. You choose a state of love, so if you step out of it, you can, intentionally, step back into it. 10:30 - Many marriages that are not engaged in a loving sexual practice end in divorce. It doesn’t have to be that way. You can reconnect through intentional sexual practice. Disconnecting sex from spirit = death! 12:21 - Listening to deep bass grooves in music can bring on sexual feelings. It’s a vibration that travels through the body. Use it to awaken the energy. 12:57 - Spirituality is sexy! 13:49 - Religion is not the answer to spiritual balance, as most of it is pretty uncomfortable with sexuality. 14:10 - Good sex is God+Sex. It releases pleasure-producing hormones & brings joy. 15:18 - Music is a way to invigorate & enliven your sex life & reach into higher states of being. Sex, engaged intentionally as a practice of love, can change everything in your marriage. 16:07 - SONG: “House of Pain” - Frankly Scarlet (Kelly Brown & Kim Brown Cain). The Naked Vibes Show features conversations with musicians, artists & healers to ignite your creative genius & elevate you in your spiritual growth. This episode features Grammy-winning songwriter, Wood Newton, a veteran of the Nashville music scene, a performing artist & activist. This audio was taken from a Naked Vibes TV episode where Wood joined me to play live & to share conversation about the creative process, his insights on the importance of commitment in relationships, his activism on behalf of songwriters' constitutional rights, & more. Wood is well-known in music circles as a lyricist adept at turning a phrase. He has a great sense of humor, so we enjoyed some good laughs! Enjoy the show on NAKED VIBES TV:
SHOW NOTES: 1:55 - SONG - LIVE PERFORMANCE: "Private Malone" performed live by Wood Newton at the Bluebird Cafe, Nashville. 6:31 - We're recording our conversation in the studio of painter, Gloria Newton. Wood respects this as her sacred space. We all need sacred space for our creativity to blossom. 7:04 - Wood has over 2000 songs in his catalog, recorded by Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Steve Wariner, Oak Ridge Boys, David Ball, B.J. Thomas, Anne Murray, George Jones, Restless Heart & many more. 7:42 - Everyone is creative. As a songwriter, Wood's antennae are always up for new phrases & ideas. Inspiration comes from everywhere. It's amazing what people say on Facebook. Watch out - that could end up in a song! 9:00 - Wood respects the ideas that other songwriters share as part of their own creative work. Though inspiration is everywhere, ideas shared as titles or "works in progress" are not up for grabs. 9:35 - Tim & Miles Thompson had the idea for the song, "It's Time For Me To Go" & Wood helped them phrase it. One of his strong suits is creating phrases that work easily for the singer. Great video on YouTube. 10:33 - Wood has collaborated with so many other songwriters. He talks about the benefits of collaboration & the way that process continues to benefit him even when he's writing solo. 11:40 - When you're writing with another artist & the hair on your arms stands up, you've probably got something! The intuitive nature of creativity is where the power lies - & that comes into play in business, relationships, & every other endeavor. 12:26 - Wood relies on his intuition as his editor in writing & business. He's been published by Sony, Jerry Crutchfield at MCA, Kenny O'Dell & Bob Montgomery at House of Gold Music, Jim & David Malloy, Even Stevens & Eddie Rabbit. Wood counts on his intuition to alert him to what direction to take, even moreso now that he runs his own publishing business. 13:30 - Wood pays close attention to his emotions about an idea when writing. Joy, sadness, & fun are all guides. He loves the comedy of Roger Miller. What a laugh! 13:58 - Miller's song "Husbands & Wives" brings forth strong emotions. Wood talks about the premise of this song, pride, being the demise of many good relationships. Celebrating his 42nd wedding anniversary on the date of this video shoot, we discuss the richness of lasting relationships. 15:09 - There's freedom in commitment. Wood tells the story of meeting a couple celebrating their 50th anniversary & telling them, "That's a good start!" He also tells of marrying Gloria in Oklahoma because there was no waiting period. When he shared their story on Facebook, it got more "likes" & comments than anything he's ever posted - & he has over 5000 fans there. That says something about the fact that people ultimately want good, lasting relationships. Wood talks about never taking your relationships for granted. 16:57 - Many young men have come forward searching for answers to that these days. Wood is happy to share his wisdom with them in these personal areas & is also open to creative collaboration with writers getting their start. 17:53 - Wood is very real & open, not interested in shallow relationships. That kind of openness is what brings success - in eve...
The Naked Vibes Show features conversations with musicians, artists & healers to ignite your creative genius & elevate you in your spiritual growth. This episode features musician/songwriter, Reggie Rueffer of Spot (rock band formerly with Interscope Records) & touring violinist for Charlie Pride. His other bands/projects include The Hochimen & Mildred. In this radio archive, Reggie joined me in the studio to play live & to share his insights on the creative process. Some spicey conversation ensues. SHOW NOTES: 2:34 - SONG: "Hymn" from the Heaven, the novel Soundtrack. Written & performed by Reggie Rueffer. This special version is only available on the complimentary CD that comes with the book.
7:57 - Story of how “Hymn” came to be. Reggie talks, with humor, about how easily he was able to write about religious issues mixed with sexual issues - & with the added challenge of writing from a woman’s perspective.
10:40 - Example of how creative ideas are not our own, but are shared universally.
11:03 - Sexual repression brought on by outside forces shapes our relationships & ability to express ourselves.
11:56 - Sexual energy can be channeled through artistry & music. Great examples - Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots) & Prince.
13:08 - SONG - LIVE PERFORMANCE: “Brush with Religion” - Tierra del Gato - Hochimen.
17:33 - Reggie & his brother, Chad, performed on the Local Honey Holiday Mix show with my sister, Kelly, & me. Reggie’s favorite part of the night was when we did “Noelle Nouvelet” as Brothers & Sisters.
18:34 - Broad range of musical influences & perspectives - classical training from SMU + rock star bands Mildred (XTC-inspired rock ’n roll) & Spot.
19:17 - Mildred lyrics were inspired by Reggie’s experience as a Christian.
19:54 - Perceptions of Frankly Scarlet, the band I shared with my sister, were often that it was a Christian band because we sang about Love & Consciousness. You can't remove who you are from your art.
20:38 - Expanding, through art, leads to places that are larger than religion. Music helps people connect on deeper levels.
20:56 - Great pop songs have always been written about “boy meets girl”. Reggie originally wrote more about the issues of the day.
21:36 - True that you’re perfectly who you are. Perfectly human. Mistakes & all. Recognizing this creates so much freedom.
22:05 - Fun with the collaborative process between Reggie & me for the Heaven soundtrack, on “Exposed”, by fictitious band XXX.
23:43 - Bands that play live exactly as the recording sounds often have no passion. It becomes craft instead of art. Art has to stretch. It can bring the darker human emotions a little closer to the surface, so we can recognize we’re not alone in those feelings. Example: Van Gogh’s paintings.
25:25 - SONG: “Exposed” - XXX - Heaven soundtrack. Only available on the complimentary CD that comes with the novel, Heaven. Written by KB Cain & R. Rueffer. Performed by Reggie Rueffer.
29:43 - Mistakes can turn out to be better than the original. When a voice cracks or someone hits the "wrong" chord, it can be a beautiful serendipity.
30:51 - The version of “Hymn” that can only be found on the CD that comes with Heaven, a novel is the original demo version & has more of a raw sexuality to it, more vulnerability. The Hochimen version on Tierra del Gato, called “Hymn To Them All” is more polished.
32:38 - Reggie is an accomplished violinist & fiddle player, touring with Charlie Pride.
33:31 - SONG - LIVE PERFORMANCE: “Hymn To Them All” - violin instrumental.
36:37 - What happens when an artist loses himself in “The Zone” & creativity flows without filters.
38:40 - Teaching young people that you have to learn skill first. Important to put in the hours to learn what you’re doing - then you can let go to the passion of the music, the art.
39:23 - It’s just like making love - think less & be a better lover!
Special Edition of The Naked Vibes Show in tribute to Chris Cornell - musician, singer, songwriter - who passed on May 18, 2017, leaving the music community stunned & with a feeling of deep loss. His music - recording & performing with Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, & several solo albums - has been a soulful part of many a life soundtrack.

SHOW NOTES: 1:12 - I had a different podcast scheduled for today - an archived conversation with my friend Reggie Rueffer, a brilliant musician/singer/songwriter, who with his band, Spot, was on the same record label as Chris Cornell at one time. Interscope. You’ll hear some related music from Reggie in this episode. 1:40 - Chris Cornell’s death took the whole music community by surprise & his songs have been running through my mind ever since I heard the news. I’ve awakened in the middle of the night to “Fell on Black Days” several times. So, I felt it was important for me to change the podcast schedule & talk about him & how impactful his music has been on me. “Fell on Black Days” - Soundgarden from Superunknown
2:05 - Most of it can't be put into words - as is usually the case with any person who passes from our lives - whether in our families, friendships - or in the landscape of our artistic lives. Music is an intimate relationship. It connects all of us. Artists channel our personal, as well as our collective emotions & our deepest levels of expression - levels that many people could never reach without the music. It’s a wave that allows all of us to ride. 2:43 - Chris Cornell died just after Soundgarden’s show in Detroit - apparently by suicide - though reports say his wife is disputing that & many close friends are shocked because his previous behavior didn’t indicate anything like that. She says he may have taken an extra dose of his anxiety medication, of which suicidal thoughts are a potential side effect. So, we don’t really know - this is only what’s in the news at the moment. 3:10 - Last podcast, I talked about the Divine or Sacred Feminine - & Chris certainly embodied that energy. He was such a masculine man, but his lyrics & music bring forth the mystery of human nature - the deeper secrets, longings & desires - & it taps into those places where all of us house things we don’t know & don’t understand - the secret places. 3:39 - Death is one of those secret places. One of those places we don’t like to talk about much, but we need to - for many reasons & on many levels. For one, to remove the stigma. And also, to bring into the light, the things that cause people to feel alone & eventually find themselves in a place where they believe there is no other choice, but to exit the physical body. 4:05 - When I was writing my novel, Heaven, Chris Cornell’s music was a clear & present muse for me as that masculine presence, but one who also embodied the presence of the Sacred Feminine. The passage where Chris’ music comes into play is really the darkest & most explicit chapter of the book. It contains lyrics from “Pretty Noose” - Soundgarden from Down on the Upside. Should you read it, that particular chapter will take you on a journey into the deep mystery of the feminine energy - the place where our sexual & our spiritual nature connects. It illustrates the darker side of the feminine energy & how, when out of balance, it can lead us down a darker path than we ever intended to go. Music illuminates that path like nothing else can. 6:10 - In another chapter, the lead character in the book, Eve, is dancing to a song by a fictitious band, XXX. I wrote the lyrics for this song within the chapter, & later completed the music. Because Cornell’s music (Soundgarden & Audioslave), along with Alice in Chains, had been such a constant companion during the writing process, I was really feeling that kind of vibe & energy. I could hear Chris performing it. So, when I finished the novel,

8:52 - We need to transform our mindset in regard to the feminine. An easy place to start is with an understanding of Mother Earth. The movie “Avatar” is a gorgeous, entertaining & thought-provoking example.

14:38 - Story of woman who couldn’t look at her own body, leaving it up to a doctor, only, to examine her because she thought it was dirty.
16:29 - What image do you conjure when you hear about a “sexually powerful” woman or a “spiritually powerful” woman? Power is not above others, but with others.
17:14 - Our sexuality is basic to who we are, yet deeply mysterious
17:35 - SONG: “Black Coffee” – Everlast
18:02 - SONG: “Closer” – Nine Inch Nails
18:33 - Trent Reznor adept at expressing sexual/spiritual confusion
19:07 – Potent energies being awakened in our culture. Your body is your vehicle. Music is a primordial vibration, so it moves us in powerful ways. Meditation - consider standing naked before a mirror with an attitude of gratitude. Love & honor yourself.
22:20 - SONG: “Hari Om, Shiva Om” – Deva Premal
22:59 – Make your movements interesting & fun, like a whirling dervish! It will get you in touch with the Divine Feminine.
23:21 - Be willing to allow yourself to let go, without judgment, so your Higher Self can speak with you, unhindered.
23:57 – Power in waiting to receive. It’s the creative process - & music is an amazing way to start understanding how the active & passive energies work together. You can use music, intentionally, to create shifts that move you out of discouragement, confusion, anxiety, & fear - & into courage, productivity, greater energy levels & joy. Rhythmic Movement Meditations are the perfect tool.

In life, when you make changes, the subtle are the most profound. 6:08 - Impatient with subtle changes because we want instant results. 7:07 - Understanding what “ego” means - the unconscious part of ourselves. 7:57 - How does Lynn get a student to start understanding the difference between walking in ego vs Spirit? Understanding fluctuations in energy & the ways movement becomes very natural. 9:19 - How often do you practice Aikido? An exact answer can signal that you’re not really understanding the practice! 9:40 - Being “more spiritual”. Understanding prayer that never ceases & associated misconceptions. 10:30 - When you learn to be in spirit all the time, you feel it when you step out of it! 11:00 - When you step beyond the physical, you gain a broader perspective of life. 11:14 - If you could see yourself when the light-bulb moment of expanded consciousness goes off, you’d see that it looks like nothing happened, though everything shifted! 12:11 - Confidence in spirit can be confused with arrogance by those living in the ego. The difference between the two is in being assertive without fear. 12:47 - Why do people sometimes fear those who are “assertive without fear”? 14:04 - Physical appearance is the least informative energy. Pre-judging can cause us to miss the more powerful,
The ego is fragile, but the spirit is bold & connected to Universal Truth. This Tune Your Vibes segment of The Naked Vibes Show will raise your awareness of Universal Truth vs Personal Subjective Truth, of your connection to Divine Love, & learning to be an observer, free from judgment. Truth has a “ring” to it, a high vibration. Discerning between this & the painful voice of the ego can make all the difference between merely surviving & thriving in life. SHOW NOTES: Show sponsored by RockItU - Get a Free Video to help you hone your intuitive skills for practical use in everyday life. 2:06 - Many paths, one Truth. Jesus & Lao Tzu: The Parallel Sayings, edited by Martin Aronson. (get the link here) 2:57 - SONG: "Truth" - Kelly Brown (aka Local Honey). Also available on the CD that comes with Heaven, a novel. 6:30 - Personal Subjective Truth vs Universal Truth. When we hold out our personal subjective truth as "The Truth", we put ourselves in place of God in our own judgment. It puts others in the wrong if they don't fit into our paradigm. We can always find everything we need to back up our “positions” & put others in the wrong. When holding rigidly to our positions, we’re operating from fear & stifling our own growth. 7:11 - Positions prevent us from seeing vastness of time, space & consciousness. 7:34 - Story example - Medieval Christian belief in a flat Earth. Old beliefs will eventually give way through the process of evolution. 8:07 - Quantum physics & Christianity. Belief in a Personal Savior has led to war throughout history. 8:38 - Jesus - “I am the way, the truth, & the life” - Universal Truth 9:03 - “No one comes to the Father but by me.” Understanding this through Personal Subjective Truth vs Universal Truth. Jesus goes far beyond the personal, leading us to the “Father” or “Supreme Mind”. 10:10 - Meditation removes barriers, so the Universal can become Personal. 10:18 - Can Universal be personal? Yes - we walk it into the world through our personal selves. 11:19 - Stiff positions keep us from growth. 11:34 - SONGS: "Whatever I Fear" – Toad the Wet Sprocket. "Drive" – Incubus. 13:00 - Trust that Universal Truth will be your guide, if you allow it. I believe in presenting you with ideas, then giving you some space to move those ideas into the body through music. Even if we don’t know exactly what to do with new ideas on an intellectual level, our spirits know exactly what to do! Music, dance – movement shakes old ideas loose & allows our bodies to integrate new ones without the resistance we create on the mental plane. 14:31 - As an intuitive guide, I have the opportunity to see a person’s true spirit. I find that most people are unaware of how powerful they really are. Story - Young woman "buys into" the idea of being flawed & it sets her up for a lifetime of health issues. 15:50 - Addressing health only through symptoms covers up deeper issues. Adhering to stories from past pain causes us to define ourselves as powerless victims, which is not a Universal Truth! The ego is fragile, but the spirit is bold & connected to Universal Truth. 16:12 - EXERCISE: Ask yourself – “What if my belief system were not true?” Pay attention to any emotions that arise. You may experience anger, dread, anxiety – all signals that you’re alive & you have somewhere to go from there! 18:05 - SONG: "Second Chance" - Shinedown 18:52 - Meditation - This is how you find that you’re connected to Universal Truth - that you are a part of it. 19:22 - Era - Composer Eric Levi uses made-up words to convey & invoke emotions. You can hear truth in music. It’s very powerful & peaceful at the same time. 20:17 - Questions to ask yourself in preparation for meditation. How important is Truth to you? Are you willing to set aside worn out beliefs that no longer serve you, or the greater good, in order to grow? If you experience discomfort with these questions, it’s just resistance. 21:03 - Meditation

This episode features singer/songwriter/visual artist, Kelly Brown of Local Honey. In this radio archive, Kelly joined me in the studio to play live & to share her insights on the creative process.
Show Notes: :55 - Show sponsored by RockItU - Get a Free Video to help you hone your intuitive skills for enhanced creativity & practical use in everyday life. 1:20 - Introducing Kelly Brown of the musical entity, Local Honey. 2:01 - Kelly lets us know what’s naked! Kim & Kelly get silly - one of the best ways to get back to your joyful inner child is to get with a sibling! 3:01 - Kelly’s websites (get the links here) 3:46 - Kelly created the cover art for Heaven, a novel & her music is featured on the CD that comes with the hardcover book. As an artist & musician, she channels amazing creative energy. 4:16 - How does Kelly use music & art to bring out her childlike self? 4:45 - Subconscious mind works during mundane tasks to bring forth creative ideas. 5:09 - How do you take higher levels of consciousness & intentionally tap into it, so you can use it? 5:38 - When we become blocked, we’re dealing with very human issues. Kelly chooses to let the creative process rest at times, so she doesn’t repeat the same patterns - to let ideas decay & be reborn as new creations. 6:50 - Be gentle with creative ideas as they show up. They don’t have to come out as a full-blown song or art piece. 7:16 - Channeling frustration into a rock ’n roll energy to push momentum & get ourselves back into the groove, after laying low, helps us individually & collectively, as a band. 8:42 - SONG: “Truth” - Kelly Brown & Local Honey from Late Bloomer. The song can also be found on the CD that comes with Heaven, a novel. 12:00 - Kelly & I performed as Frankly Scarlet, opening shows for David Bowie, Sarah McLachlan on Lilith Fair, Joe Walsh & more. We wanted to explore more, so Kelly got her Masters Degree & created Local Honey as a result. 12:53 - Kelly talks about the entity of Local Honey – how it was born, its way of creating new works of music & art. We discuss aspects of creativity as a sometimes gentle, sometimes tumultuous process, singing/songwriting as emotional & physical process, performance as a process of energy channeling. 14:49 - Einstein credits his genius in discovering the Theory of Relativity as a “musical perception”. Musical vibrations are more powerful than most people realize! 15:50 - How do you use creativity (singing/songwriting/performing) to process emotions & then teach others to do the same? Music is a higher form of language & understanding. 17:11 - Act of singing expresses all kinds of emotions. Audience receives the transmission, so it’s a full circuit. 18:05 - When the experience is good with musicians, it’s like a higher-level sexual experience. Performing with a band, like sex, is a form of communion. 19:14 - Prayer takes us to a higher level of expression in our creativity. Sometimes the energy can become overwhelming, as with short performances, when the adrenaline takes over. Many performers & athletes experience headaches or migraines after intense performance. Learning how to dissipate the energy is as important as receiving & channeling it. 21:00 - Kung Fu has helped Kelly to better understand the balance between the intellectual & the physical. Martial Arts is a study of martialing your power. 22:46 - Connecting with the earth to neutralize excess energy. Our father, a Master Gardener, & our mother, an Earth sign, taught us in various ways about the power of the Earth to heal & reconnect. Our trip to New Orleans to celebrate their 50th anniversary, & connect with friends who had been in their wedding, was an amazing revelation of Love. The inner child was there & everyone came out to play! 25:11 - Kelly & I discuss our opportunities,
Why is the connection of sexuality to spirituality so vital on both personal & global levels? This is a special edition of Tune Your Vibes on the The Naked Vibes Show in honor of International Women's Day. Show Notes: Show sponsored by RockItU - Get a Free Video to help you hone your intuitive skills for practical use in everyday life. 2:12 - A friend worried that some might consider me to be too sexually “forward” with this message, so International Women’s Day is a good opportunity to share why I find it important to connect sexuality to spirituality - & why it’s more a message about human potential. 3:58 - Some really personal stories I’ve never shared publicly. They’re important because they happen to most women at some point – different situations & scenarios, but with the same underlying issue. 4:06 – Story of the young guy who grabbed my breast in a gift shop. Was this guy an animal, a victimizer, or just a guy who hadn’t learned how to channel his sexual energy? 6:21- Freak out – As a college freshman, a businessman ambushed me & planted a huge kiss right on my mouth when I delivered sandwiches to his office. Is that what the $100 tip was for? 9:03 – Many ways sex can be used inappropriately – stemming from the energy of anger, pain, loneliness, & fear. We can learn to channel it appropriately. It’s not a women’s issue, it’s a human issue. 10:31 – A police officer seized an opportunity to whisper sexual innuendos in a professional situation when I worked for the Dallas Cowboys. It’s not about getting him in trouble; it’s about helping him & others learn how to channel their sexual energy in ways that truly empower him. This ain't it. Wonder why he has to catch a woman off guard to feel powerful? 13:26 – Corporations spend large amounts of money dealing with sexual harassment issues. 13:45 – An attorney used my vulnerability to unleash his sexual repression when I came to him for help. Maybe he’s a good guy for the most part, but as a person in a service position who gains a woman’s trust, then uses it to act out his personal fantasies, he disempowers himself at the same time he harms others. 16:30 – A producer hired me for a voice-over. When creative energy is flowing, it can be confused with sexual expression. He certainly forgot about the job he called me to do. Or was that really the job he was calling about in the first place? 17:08 – Heightened sexual energy is natural – primal - but must be understood better. 17:50 – My personal stories may help women feel less alone - we’ve all got stories. They may help men understand that their thoughts & desires are normal, but that they are actually more powerful when they learn to channel that energy well – in ways that benefit, rather than harm, others. 18:26 - Workplace sexual harassment is misdirected, inappropriately channeled, sexual energy. Anger can be masked as a sexual advance, using sex as a weapon. Men who fear the powerful draw of the feminine nature – you can learn to channel this & empower yourselves instead of disempowering others & degrading your own self-worth in the process. You can’t hurt someone else without hurting yourself because we’re all connected. In a workplace "harassment" situation, it’s important to ask, “Does the punishment fit the crime?” 19:35 – Remo HealthRhythms provides an amazing release in the workplace! As a trained facilitator & also as a musician, I know the power of the drums for self-expression. Drumming channels primal energy. You can release sexual, creative energy in a way that empowers you & connects you to people in your community. It’s a great way to get ahead of sexual harassment issues, instead of dealing with it on the back end. 20:39 – Misdirected sexual energy, on a global scale, is destructive to humanity. 21:13 – Heaven, a novel – I spent 10 yrs. researching as I wrote this book. Conversations with ministers, therapists, strippers, & people in general,
