The one thing you should never give up on or loose is hope.We need to have hope even when it seems things are hopeless. Despite what is going on in the news or even in your own life, do not loose hope. You see, hope is a feeling of expectation or a desire for a certain thing to happen.

You have heard that saying, "Tough times don't last, but tough people do." But, I also believe that it is what we do in the tough times that makes a difference in our outcome. Our faith isn't tested in the good times; but during trial and challenging times.

Many times we go through the storms of life wondering ,"why me?" I know there has been numerous occasions where I questioned if God saw what was happening to me.  I recall one of the most difficult times in my life was when I was going through a divorce.  There were days I felt like I wasn't going to make it.  I wanted to give up.  I wanted to quit. I didn't realize that I was stronger than I thought!

But God will pull the good out of everything you go through, you just have to believe that all things are working for your good.  You may not always see the good, but give it time.  I came out better and stronger.

It is so important to understand the value of the right perspective especially regarding your life.  The viewpoint from which you look at your life and current situation affects your daily thoughts and emotions.  It so easy to get focus on our problems.  We focus on what we don't have in life or the crisis we are going through. If we aren't careful we will become bitter, depressed, and ungrateful.  We start to take things for granted like life, health, and family. When that happens our persepective has gotten off.  Remember perspective is how we see things (viewpoint).

As I send my kids off to another year of school, I want them to remember who they are and how strong they are.  I want them to keep their mind renewed with the Word of God.   As parents, we are always trying to do the right things for our kids. One of the best things you can do is teach them the Word of God, teach them who they are in Christ, and teach them confessions to speak over their lives.

Listen to Latrese as she speaks over our children for the 2016-2017 school year.

Are you speaking what you see or what you saw?  Are you speaking what you feel or what the Word is saying? It is easy to get caught up with life and the punches that are thrown at you.  We have all been guilty of speaking facts instead of truth.  Facts are what you see and they are temporary, but truth is the Word of God. Your words are a manifestation of what you are saying whether it's good or bad. Listen to Latrese as she challenges us to speak our blessings and not curses.

I know, it doesn't always seem like you are making a difference but you are. Be the light and the example. You were placed there to be an agent of change but you can't do that because you have become bitter. Trials and adversities comes to make you stronger not to destroy you.
