Building a business is no easy feat. In this episode, we sit down with Jamie Gonzalez, owner of JNG Auto Recon, to explore his journey from running a mobile detailing service to managing multiple facilities that handle detailing, paint bays, and restoration.

Jamie opens up about how he’s built not only a successful business but a culture centered around exceptional customer service and strong team development. He shares his belief that many business owners hesitate to fully equip their employees for fear that they might leave and become competitors, but emphasizes that empowering your team is key to success.

Understanding his employees' needs—recognizing burnout, finding the right roles, and aligning work with their natural talents—has been crucial in Jamie’s approach. He highlights how investing in and supporting his team not only benefits the individuals but also strengthens and grows the business.

In a nutshell,

"It's like if you're mad about this guy is because you're holding out a you don't want to teach him properly. You don't. You have some ego in your head that you're like, oh, I don't want to teach him that because he's going to go and start his own company. You know, people like that. It's like, bro, like, what are you talking about?

Like, your customers need to be taken care of right now. Like you can't pull back this dude because you just want to go make yourself look good or belittle the guy. Dude, That's just such a weak way of thinking"

This week we have the privilege of visiting Jonathan Munsell. Jonathan currently is serving as the President of The IDA and also the COO of Spiffy On-Demand Car Care. We have a great conversation of his roll as COO of Spiffy. He shares how he guided Spiffy from a young mobile company to a thriving detailing business across multiple states. One of the key things he implemented early on was utilizing Google calendar to more efficiently schedule his team. He quickly outgrew this and shares the adoption and evolution of technology and systems that helped them grow.
