Leah Baterbonia

20 Episodes

I am Leah Baterbonia, currently a Volunteer Ambassador of the Philippine Embassy and also a Committee Member of the Multicultural Association of Hawkes Bay from 2017 up to the present. I am passionate about community development, project planning and monitoring and advocating for social change for the better. When I was in the Philippines, I worked with program related to reproductive health and resource management in partnership with local government units. This experience have changed my perspectives in life between the upper class and the lower class but there is always something that can be done to uphold equality. In December 2006, I migrated to New Zealand and started working in an orchard, followed by other employments. I studied postgraduate diploma in International Development at Massey University in 2016. As the Volunteer Ambassador, I want to speak about the Philippines and promote Filipino language and culture, tourism and uphold universal diplomacy.
