This week on the podcast is Johannes Soulages of Four.Consulting in a recent Instagram live. How can we break the male infertility stigma and how does infertility impact men and their mental health? We don’t always hear about the impact infertility has on men from an emotional and psychological view.

Johannes was born in France and came to the US in 2007 as a post-doctoral fellow at MIT, leading a research project aboard the international space station. He is a material scientist by training (science of plastic). Johannes is currently working on transitioning the plastic packaging of a large beauty corporation to 100% recycled by 2030.

He is also an infertility coach. Johannes’ journey with infertility started in early 2011, when he was diagnosed with poor semen quality. He went through several IVF cycles as a man, including a miscarriage at 12 weeks. He did not receive much help or support at the time and was not ready for it. Johannes recently joined a Resolve support group and was encouraged to start his own men's group. His mission is to break the male infertility stigma and create a brotherhood of IVF dads.

D. Neil Elliott lives in a peaceful historic village on the West Coast of British Columbia with his wife and a house full of art, books, and plants. He names all his plants—his favorite is a tall and lean Yucca called Rogelio. Neil has three children and five grandchildren, all of whom, of course, are brilliant. He loves ALL wildlife, and domestic pets too. In his twenties, he raised a variety of parrots and Labrador dogs. Neil has a passion for motorcycling and loves to travel, particularly in Europe, to visit museums, churches, and art galleries.  He likes to visit cities and enjoy all they have to offer, but prefers a peaceful country life close to water, forests, and plenty of wildlife.

Dr. Melissa Thompson Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist is a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.    She has been working exclusively with the pelvic floor and women's health population for several years.    Dr. Mel attended multiple specialist trainings for pelvic floor and work exclusively with women's health and pelvic floor problems, including pregnancy, postpartum, pain with sex, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, and bladder, and bowel issues.

She loves addressing the body holistically and the difficulty she had finding this kind of care for her own pelvic pain is what drives her to do this work.    Dr. Mel wants to get YOU the best care from a comprehensive, holistic, evidence-based standpoint because that's what works in my years of experience.

She knows that many women are not asking for the help that they should be and are not preparing for pregnancy and birth.    A lack of preparedness is shown clearly in the evidence to lead to more interventions, not understanding what decisions are being made, and not practicing in your body to be set up to take the most control of your labor and birth that you can. This ultimately leads to more leaking, more injury, and slower recovery postpartum returning to your favorite exercise and intimate life.

Dr. Mel is currently practicing in her clinic that she opened in July 2020 in Houma, Louisiana

Mollie is the creator of Sleep Is A Skill, a company that optimizes people’s sleep through a unique blend of technology, accountability, and behavioral change. She became fascinated with chronobiology, and by extension, its practical applications to restore a state of homeostasis not only to her sleep but also to her life as a whole. In this podcast episode, Choosing Love After Tragedy, Scarlett Lewis talks to me about losing her six-year old son in the Sandy Hook Massacre and how she started the Choose Love Movement. Scarlett founded the organization, which advocates teaching kids social emotional skills to help them make positive choices in challenging situations, have courageous conversations, and respond to difficult situations by “choosing love”. She talks about her courageous ability to overcome the unthinkable and why social-emotional learning is the answer to preventing future tragedies.

Scarlett Lewis founded the nonprofit Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement after her son was murdered during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in December 2012.  After his death, Scarlett became part of the solution to the issues that we're seeing in our society—and that also caused the tragedy. She created the Movement and became an advocate for social and emotional learning (SEL) and character development that teaches children how to manage their emotions, feel connected, and have healthy relationships. Speaking across the US and internationally to diverse audiences, and now virtually, Scarlett urges everyone to become part of the solution.

Scarlett created the Choose Love for Schools Program, a no-cost, comprehensive, lifespan, next generation SEL and character development program that teaches children and adults how to thoughtfully respond with love in any situation, handle adversity, and have courageous conversations by using the Choose Love Formula of: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion-in-Action = Choosing Love. Choose Love has been extended into homes, communities, athletics, and the workplace. The programs have been accessed in all 50 states and 110 countries, reaching more than 2 million children.

Welcome to the Dismantling You Podcast with Lisa Pineda.  In this episode, I'm sharing about why this show came to be and what can you expect for each episode.  Each week I’ll have a new episode talking to an expert or thought leader in all industries. Every once in a while I’ll throw in a solo show so you can ask questions and connect with me on social media and so we can chat and dive in and ask questions about some of those issues that you might have going on in your own life. But each week with a guest we’ll talk about what’s lighting them up, the kind of work they are doing and also the routines, practices, habits, books or podcasts that they are listening to or using in their lives to live their best life. My goal is after each show to have you leave feeling inspired and have some tactical takeaways to implement in your own life that are simple and not overwhelming and make you feel really good. Because at the end of the day, I believe that its about dismantling those rigid thought patterns. This is a podcast that explores leaning into self-trust and discovering the truth about who you really are. Let’s just say I call it unlearning all those programmed concepts we learned as a child and sometimes even as an adult. Whether its your mindset, routines, or habits we are going to change it up in a positive way!
