Joos(t) The Vanished Dutchman is, as you might have guessed, from The Netherlands. You cannot pronounce his name easily: Juiced? Well it's an anti- artist name lads and gents! He's a musician first. Inspired by the likes of Gino Vannelli, Todd Rundgren, Miles Davis, Boz Scaggs, John Martyn, Tubes, Terry Callier, he started out as a drummer before turning his hand to writing. His latest album, I Mimic Me was released in april of 2014 and he describes himself as a "zelfbevlekkende, narcistische, selfkickende, obsessieve, uitknijpende liedjesmaker" which loosely translates (I think) as a "self-denigrating, narcissistic, self-flagellating squeezer-out of songs" as freely translated by Tom Robinson. JoosTVD´ song Bomb Won´t Go Off featured on his BBC6 Radio show in november 2012. Now reguarly played on Croydon radio.
What you hear is the song that opens the 2016 album "Open Up My Parachute (release 04-04-2016): Chalky. The supporting promo video (https://goo.gl/K6n3fc) shows all the pictures that have been involved with the artwork. You can see the changes in design, colour and fonts. Yes, it's all in a lowbudget DIY way that keeps it personal and what drives me to do it like this.
My rhythmic side pushed forward and I seem to use each frame as a rhythm response to any accent in the music. Well, it's a funky track so I had to.
Who is this... "Chalky"? It's inspired by that afro-american guy, who played this cool, smooth survivor in the thrilling TV series Boardwalk Empire. Chalky (White), a ironic nickname. I liked the sound of it and it fit perfectly with this "dangerous" groove I've been working on.
Online services will follow ASAP....
Enjoy!
Title track of the 2014 album of The Vanished Dutchman, where JoosTVD tries to imitate himself-in vain-as a child. With the support of the obvious visualisation where he tries to come to terms with himself and his mirror...(just watch that video)

Lyrics Velvet Shoes
Now Andy Boy And Mary Lou
They Used To Wear Those VELVET SHOES
They Did The Walk On The Very Wild Side
In The White Heat And The White Light
Now Mary Lou She Used To Play
All Of Your Records On A Perfect Day
Until She Couldn't Listen No More
Now She's Walking Out Of The Door
You Want To Have a Good Time
You Want To Get It Out Of Your Mind
You Want A Change Of The Scene
You Can Blame It On The New York Dream
Well You're Wasting Time
Your Precious Time
Drinking Cheap Cheap Wine
All Of The Time
Now You're Out Of Your Mind
But You Have A Good Time
Down In Your Hole
Hey LOU This Is My Ode To You
Finally Learned To Talk Like
You're Supposed To Do
Maybe I Walk More On The Safer Side
Well This Ain't The Big Apple
But I Give It A Try
I Have Jolly Good Time
I Want To Get It Out Of My Mind
I Wanna Change Of The Scene
I Blame It On The New York Dream
I'm Wasting Time.....
