Today in honor of Father's Day I catch up with my favorite human on this planet to learn more about how he as a man without a father grew into such an amazing one.
This man has over come racial segregation, growing up fatherless, and countless other setbacks

💋🎙 Today in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I catch up with an old friend, Kara who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 30 years old, with two young children.
1 in 8 women will get Breast Cancer. To quote Kara, “Think of 16 women you know, 2 will get cancer.”
Kara very beautifully and bravely shares her journey and serves as a gentle reminder to:

🎙👄 I’ve begged Ryan to join my podcast for months, and finally tracked him down! While the intent was to discuss being the child of divorce within a Catholic community in the early 90’s, Ryan and I instead bond about… yup, you guessed it DATING. And basically how our parents’ divorce offed up our dating life.
Thank you so much for sharing your sagacity with me, Ryan. I still contend you are by far the most underrated content creator I follow and the most brilliant to boot.

In 2012, Forbes reported that 65% of Americans would rather see their boss fired than receive a raise. As an employee this stat shocked me; as a boss, it terrifies me.
Today Gram and I discuss the idea of working with terrible leadership; his first job was at an establishment that engaged in less-than-legal activities.
You can find Gram on @HeavierThanAGram on Instagram & all Podcast platforms.
You can download his music on AmazonMusic.

🎙👄 Jeff, my #1 Eavesdropper randomly hops on my podcast, with no prompt, rhyme, or reason just to see where the conversation goes.
We end up speaking about Jeff’s new business, Fanny Paca (IG: @FannyPacaOfficial)

We also play Marry, Murder, Make Love with:

And for the record, I realize her name is Meg Griffith, not Megan.
Shout out to Triple C, always love to you.
🎙👄By 9 years old, Laine endured more than many of us ever will in our entire lives- God willing. Recapping any segment of his journey would feel unfair and too shallow, so you will have to listen (that’s not a teaser, I say that genuinely) to hear about his broken road to happiness.
I am incessantly inspired by the resilience of the human body and mind, and the many champions that came throughout support those in need.
All I can say is listen to this podcast if you need to remember that YOU can truly overcome anything, and together we can build each other into greater humans.
I am moved, I am touched, I am HONORED Laine would so valiantly share his story with me.

“The coming together of people who otherwise wouldn’t meet.” As BLM gains more traction than ever, I wanted to offer some hope and inspiration. Today I speak with my dear friend, Michael Fratangelo, founder of DivserseCity.
In 2007, DiverseCity (a sports camp) began as a way to bridge divides among fractured communities by intentionally integrating children from various socio-economic, ethnic, religious, abilities, and backgrounds.
Mike’s valiant & vigilant efforts towards anti-racism is nothing short of inspiring.
We need more Michael’s in this world.

Todayis June 4th. I am not okay. The world is on fire following the death of George Floyd, and I forgot to cancel my podcast guest- Gram (IG: @HeavierThanAGram)
Note: Gram and I do not know each other personally, nor had ever spoken to one another before- we simply connected on IG as fellow Podcasters.
So when I saw his name on the line- I figured I would answer and tell him, "Sorry- I am not in the mood to host today." The conversation quickly turned into our thoughts on the BLM movement and more. This is a real and raw conversation, and I am so grateful for Gram's openness to speak to a complete stranger across the country over such a painful topic to address.
🎙👄 Today’s podcast is a conversation I think everyone should be having. I’d like to note that while it may seem relevant to recent events- this podcast was recorded weeks ago before the death of George Floyd.
If you believe, “My parents’ life is and always has been perfect, and I want the exact same life for my children and myself,” this podcast is probably not for you. You have some growing to do first.
Many of us are asking ourselves: How can things get better? How can I be better?
And I’d like to propose a peaceful, yet painful option: looking inward at the flaws and dysfunctional in your beliefs and behavioral patterns. Yikes. Did I just call you flawed? Rude, but yes. Friendly reminder: you’re not perfect. You have work to do. You really could be BETTER.
One exercise that I think all communities- especially the #BlackCommunity- could benefit from is identifying generational cycles and then strategizing how to break dysfunctional behaviors and mindsets. (*Now, when I say “especially the Black community could benefit,” I am not saying only the Black community should participate; This is a joint effort, fam).
DO THE WORK now to make for a better world tomorrow. You have to seek, recognize, and admit to your past in order to make a better future… This transcends racism btw. This means addressing your FAMILY’S history of codependency, abuse, violence, poverty, obesity, incarceration, sexual abuse, premature death, eating disorders, alcohol abuse, Rx drug abuse, marijuana abuse, a dissatisfactory sex/love life, divorce, infidelity, pornography addiction, mental health concerns, attachment issues, and yes, racism. Whew.
Thank you so much @itstheracq for being open and vulnerable and sharing intimate details of topics that aren’t easy to address. I still have a lot of work to do myself #serioustrustissues
🙏🏾 Prayers that we all continue to identify and BREAK these chains 🔗
PS- I’ve said it before, I will say it again: all y’all need to go to therapy.

🎙👄 Today I catch up with my gorgeous girlfriend, Victoria, to discuss how to properly end things, when and how it's time to leave a 'situationship,' and being ghosted in the digital age.
I also reveal some of super-special-secret-way-to-dump-someone-nicely texts that help me sleep with a clear conscience.

🎙👄 I am unapologetically obsessed with the entire concept of high school; perhaps it's because I did not get the typical HS experience (all girls school).
Today I speak with Thania, who shares some of the experiences being a cool girl in high school.
She also shares some of her health journey (fitness and mercury poisoning) and elaborates on the community she had built on IG and her Podcast.
Also, I am enneagram Type 8, just like Thania!
You can find Thania on instagram @tataconquers and listen to 'F & Other Words' on your favorite podcast platform!
🎙👄 Gen Z is the world’s first generation to have access to Internet their entire lives, which I’ve always found fascinating. If you plan on having a job in the next 10 years- you better get ready for this revolutionary generation real quick. They’ve flipped several generational trends upside down; As they enter the workforce (and start voting in the 2020 election) I feel Dr. Grace’s research is relevant, necessary, crucial. These kids will soon be your coworkers, teachers of your children, or if you’re me- your future dating pool.
PS- our MySpace pages don't exist anymore, and I’m upset about it.

🎙👄 “Can women and men be just friends?”
My acquaintance @mosterjoffrey and I debate an age-old debate.
Ultimately, I believe a platonic relationship is merely a façade, where someone (or both) suppresses romantic feelings.*
Jeff feels otherwise. It gets awkward.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Crazy Caroles out there! 💐
*exception- childhood friends.

🎙👄 "We haven't spoken in 19 years, wanna join my podcast?"
Siede and I attended 3rd - 6th grade together.
Aside from a few 'likes' and comments on social media, we hadn't taken the time to catch-up. I really wanted to know what was going on with her, because I was certain no matter what she was doing it was pretty darn fabulous. Siede is one of those people who so multi-facted: highly intelligent, Ivy-leaguer, empathetic, kind, well-rounded, beautiful, well-traveled, the list really goes on...
Unfortunately for me, she's some big name spy in a secret society, so most of her answers were vague and not podcast-friendly, ha.
Nevertheless, my intention with this podcast was not to create amazing content, but to reconnect with an old friend and I find it admirable and impressive we could speak for the first time in 19+ years without skipping a beat!
Thank you Siede!!

🎙👄 We know there's a direct correlation between a woman's romantic relationships and her relationship with her father.
So while contemplating the question, "How Am I Still Single?," I figured, who better to ask than the person probably most responsible?
As we navigate through the conversation one thing is evident: he is a total #GirlDad
He even surprises me with with a list of 13 qualities he expects from my future husband.
If you've wondered how the hell I am so [insert eccentric adjective here], look no further than this little podcast episode.
🎙👄 I don't like make-up, and I do a lot of work to avoid having to wear it.
To me, make-up is a means to an end.
So I really don't understand people who make a hobby of going to Mac or buy Fenty items presell without even trying them on.
I figured make-up would be an easy, nonabrasive topic.
Can't wheel-barrel your first time, ya know?

In one word, my intention with this podcast is storytelling. So... come Eavesdrop with Ella while I talk some story! If you have a story or topic idea to share, I'd love to hear from ya! My email ellayourbellapodcast@gmail.com, you can also find me on Instagram @ellayourbella.
