Lena Cebula is a wife, a mother of three beautiful children, and the author of the spiritual autobiography, Miraculous: My journey from hell to heaven.

Today, Lena is a social justice advocate, a professional public speaker and the host of Love&BLoved Podcast. Her mission is to share the Good News of God’s love and create awareness about the reality of human trafficking.

Sometimes, the challenges and trials we face in life can make us feel hopeless and ready to give up, but what part do we play in what happens to us?

Too often we blame the enemy for some of our missteps, not realizing that our own sin may contribute to the problems we endure.

In this week’s episode of The Faith Based Storyteller Show we sat down with Jeffrey S. Simpson, a man who turned his pain into purpose after embracing repented faith and allowing the Lord to truly cleanse him from sin.

Jeff's life began with hardship, marked by abandonment and followed by decades of challenges throughout his military service in the U.S. Navy. However, it was during these trials that he discovered faith, which became his guiding light, offering solace and redirecting him towards a path of meaningful leadership.

His journey led him to a pivotal role at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where he excelled as Principal Staff, leading a Major Program for the Department of the Navy. Concurrently, his spiritual quest deepened through seminary studies, enriching his insights and commitment to service.

Retired from Johns Hopkins, Jeff now shares his wisdom, serving as a mentor, teacher, and preacher in his church community. Through his entrepreneurial venture as a Christian Executive Coach and Consultant, he blends his life experiences with assertive leadership skills, passionately advising and empowering others to excel in both their professional and personal lives while aiming to fortify the Kingdom of God with integrity, compassion, and leadership.

When it comes to fighting the enemy it’s important to know when God given us the strength to fight and when He fights on our behalf. Every fight is not our responsibility, but those that are come with armor and instructions!

Charlene Warren (aka “Charlie”) is a Christian artist, writer, Author coach, business coach, and entrepreneur, who through various struggles in her own life, has found her calling…helping creatives to fight through things like fear, self doubt, and self sabotage to become who God designed them to be from the very beginning.

Charlie has always been a creative, and her books, ‘Flaming Arrows’ in which she helps women to overcome the lies of the enemy in order to step forward into where God is calling them, and ‘Fighting Fear’, a 31 day devotional to Biblically fight fear and step into the ‘IT’ that God is calling you to, are set to release this year.

Brittany lived in Haiti full-time from 2009-2021. She is fluent in Haitian Creole and considers Haiti “home.” After graduating with her Masters Degree in Social Work she moved to Haiti to serve for what she thought would be a short time. A one year commitment soon turned into her life’s mission after the malnutrition she saw everywhere deeply affected her. She began working with local doctors and nurses, helping coordinate malnutrition clinics and facilitating emergency care for children.

Did you know that 20% of adult females and 5-10% of adult males recall a childhood sexual assault or sexual abuse incident?

When we experience childhood trauma of any sort, it typically lives in our bodies and follows us into our adult years. We can carry trauma without even being aware, and until we learn to fully heal and cast our burdens on the Lord, trauma can sneak up on us when we least expect it.

In this episode, we hear the testimony of the amazing Faith Based Storyteller and Founder of the Self Empowerment Mentorship Program, Winsome Alexander.

Winsome empowers adult survivors of childhood abuse and trauma of find their personal power, grow out of survival mode and go from stagnant to unstoppable to create their dream.

Supporting survivors to get confident about who they are, what they want and developing a plan to get it is my passion, she is the former founder of OUTSPOKEN magazine - The Voice for Adult Survivors of Child Abuse which ran for five years and helped thousands of survivors break through their Abuse and tell their stories.

As an advocate and speaker for survivors of trauma including incest, sexual assault, domestic violence and depression. Winsome is also a member of RAINN speakers bureau - RAINN - Rape and incest national network where she serves as a rape and suicide crisis hotline counselor.

Motherhood is a desire that many women have, but outside of conception many of us are not educated around fertility and the spiritual mindset that we need to have before becoming mothers.

This is the story and testimony of this week's Faith Based Storyteller, Lydia Nicole!

Lydia Nicole is an actress, comedienne, producer, and author whose career spans 50 years. She started as a go-fer at 13 years old working at WBLS-FM, moved to Hollywood at 18 to pursue an acting career and her first big role was playing Rachel, a gang leader in a two part episode of The Jeffersons.

Not satisfied with the roles Hollywood was offering, Lydia started doing standup comedy when there weren’t many women, let alone Latinas doing it which led her to star and co-produce the first all Latina standup show The Hot & Spicy Mamitas.

Lydia started working with filmmaker Robert Townsend and has produced films, TV Series including award nominated films like Making the Five Heartbeats, In The Hive, and Why We Laugh as well as the first Latino dramatic web series, Los Americans starring Esai Morales and Lupe Ontiveros.

Too often, we believe being content means becoming complacent and settling for what we have and not asking for or desiring more. Although Paul explains the power of contentment as having everything he needs, the Holy Spirit has led to be look at contentment as “contentmeant” or simply creating “content with meaning”.

We are God’s creation and we are called to imitate our creator through creation. The content we create is intended to inspire, encourage, and sharpen others while giving all glory to Jesus Christ! She had to switch gears and treat herself as a whole woman, not just focusing on the outside.

Evelyn now helps her clients in the very same way by letting every woman know that she can want to change her body and love it at the same time. What would happen if you found something to be grateful for every single day?

Do you question your purpose?

After years of jumping from project to project, Kyria Williams found herself in church asking God the famous question: What is my purpose?
