This week we see that the process of discerning God's will for our lives is found in prayer. Prayer is the primary way to process our will from God's Will.

Am I Doing God's Will? By far is THE MOST asked question among Christians. In this series we break it do we know and why is it important. This week we "set the table" and lay down some framework for this series. Our Goal for this series is a disciples deepest joy is found in discovering and doing God's Will.

As we continue with part 2 of Paul's letter to Timothy and these particularly difficult passage, we see that the Church shines brightest when it operates under God's divine order. Big questions require big work and to do this we carefully and prayerfully let scripture interpret scripture. This week on the Rest of the Sermon we talk about the wise, the foolish, and the evil as well as some big things that are coming up this month as we "Fall" into October!

In the scripture we see that although Judas was close in proximity to Jesus, that does not mean that he was intimate with him. We can define sin as complete and total self-absorption at the cost of everything else, including God, but the beautiful thing is: There is more grace, love, and mercy in Jesus Christ than there is sin in us!

Colossians 3 begins with these words, "If then you have been raised with Christ." That is good news! Paul is saying 'since you've been raised with Christ, now live THIS way. Put these things to death and put on the new self that Christ purchased for you!'

Last week we learned our penultimate axiom, 'THE GOAL OF DISCIPLESHIP IS DIVINE UNION.' Jelly on the bottom shelf: the goal of our relationship with Jesus is to be in unity with God and with one another, and this union is supernatural and motivated by God's love.
If this goal is motivated by love, we must LEARN how to love this way as we live our lives to the glory of God and the good of our neighbors. How do we learn this love? That is our final axiom. We learn this love through participating in the work that God is already doing in our lives and the lives of those around us!
