About Kevin Hayden

Kevin Hayden is an American drummer and producer currently living in Milwaukee Wisconsin. However, he was born and raised in Fort Wayne Indiana. Influenced by his drumming father, Kevin's musical journey began at age two in church. In high school, he was introduced to jazz by his father. Consequently, Kevin's drum sound changed after hearing jazz artists, The Yellowjackets and Dave Weckl. This would mark the beginning of his signature sound which fuses jazz and gospel.

Pursuing Music Business

After graduating high school, Kevin completed four years in the Marines. Afterwards, he decided to pursue music as a career. This decision brought about his relocation to Milwaukee. After attending local jam sessions, he quickly became one of the most hired drummers in the area.

A few years after moving, Kevin would go on to study music business at Milwaukee Area Technical College. During, he gained a wealth of knowledge under drum instructor, Ben Hans. One year later, Gospel Chops CEO, Gerald Forrest took notice to Kevin’s talent via YouTube. As a result, Gerald invited him to be a part of a video series, Bass Sessionz Vol 1. This video recording allowed Kevin the privilege of working alongside drumming legend Peter Erskine. It also helped him develop a working relationship with the bassist Damian Erskine. Later that year, Damian would make two appearances on Kevin's debut solo album, Delegations and Assignments.

Kevin Hayden Band

Kevin eventually expanded his business mind under the guidance of Gerald Forrest. As a result, he carried out plans to start his own band, the Kevin Hayden Band. Kevin Hayden Band is an instrumental music group. The band plays a mix of styles to include jazz, hip-hop and R&B. Kevin went on to record six independent music projects with his group. They also published a host of music performance YouTube videos. Kevin Hayden Band continues to perform at various jazz clubs, music festivals, corporate socials and other private events across the mid west.
