NOTE: I quote some figures for "upper class, middle class, and lower class" incomes and incorrectly call it a measure of socioeconomic status. Socioeconomic status is much more nuanced since it also factors in race, education level, etc etc. Of course, there are correlations between income level and things like education level, but the studies that I talk about in this section strictly take income level into account--not socioeconomic status.
