Our conversation went so long that I had to split it into a second episode. We just continued the great conversation from the first episode over!
This episode has to be my most favorite, by far. Caesar had me burning for more of this thing called discipleship, that unfortunately, we do not really and truly have in today's church. I can't wait to learn more from him and read some of his stuff.
I was honored that for my first episode that I could get one of the most influential people in my life on this podcast, let alone, an untested, first episode. I remember after we finished out sitting for another 20 minutes writing down ideas for questions he though I should ask, the majority of which I still use!
I spoke with Pastor Steve McCranie on the effects of disunity in the Church along with various other questions and topics. I have known Pastor Steve for many years and even attended his Wednesday gathering with my mom from time to time in my youth. This was a great conversation.
I interviewed Drew Koehler after stumbling on his facebook page, which at the time had 23,000 followers, and it would climb to upwards of 27,000 before being shut down. I have great respect for a guy that can build a huge following on social media, and we talk about his influence as well as Unity in the Church.
I had an awesome opportunity to speak with Frank Turek, who travels all over the country to debate with Atheists, as well as to preach the gospel to College kids who have been raised in a cultural void.
In this episode, Steve and I had a long discussion around unity in the church, his mission in Peru, we also talked a little about Warriors on the Wall, which is a joint Podcast that Steve, a guy named Travis, and I host.
In this episode I am joined by David Joannes, a missionary in East Asia, and the surrounding areas. I have known him for many years through Facebook, so it was great to talk to him about the challenges of mission work in China, as well as Unity from a global perspective.
By this episode I was beginning to get frustrated with my attempts at getting interviewees to join me on my podcast. I had been rejected by Steven Furtick's people, as well as Perry Noble's. They say hindsight is 20/20 because unfortunately Perry was fired from his church shortly after I recorded this episode.
I was proud to have gotten a personal hero of mine to join me for an interview on The Warrior's Cry. I was personally shown to Christ via the work of his partners and himself through the Brownsville Revival of the 90's. I was so nervouse while talking with him, but all in all this was an awesome conversation!
I finally got to sit down with a man whom I have a great level of respect for. Pastor John Pelonero had a hand in raising me in my Christian walk, literally. His family is also my family, and indeed he is the closest thing to a real dad that I have. Because of this you can hear the tension of a father/son conversation.
