To mark Empty Homes Week (15-21 February), this podcast finds out how many empty properties there are in Telford and Wrekin and what the borough council is doing about it.

Telford & Wrekin Council has written to the government asking for support in delivering a permanent flood defence system for Ironbridge.
In its letter to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the local authority also asks for support for the town’s residents and businesses affected by flooding and an improvement in the accuracy of flood reporting.

Telford & Wrekin Council is working each day with its partners to offer accommodation to ensure no one has to rough sleep in the borough.
During the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, all those who would otherwise rough sleep have been offered accommodation. It has had the effect of all but ending rough sleeping and homelessness in Telford and Wrekin.
