Big Al joined me as we dove deep into an MLB postseason and NBA Finals preview. We're used to October baseball. But when have we ever been this excited about the NBA in October? WARNING: This episode is a bit lengthy! Big Al and I are trained to go an hour and a half. For your convenience I have timestamps below so you can choose whatever you want to listen to. (6:05-31:20) An in-depth NBA Conference Finals breakdown. Are the Heat the Finals favorites? Are Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic a better tandem than LeBron James and Anthony Davis? (31:31-39:43) Bryson Deschambeau captures his first Major Title by shooting 6 under at the extremely difficult US Open at Winged Foot. (39:58-1:00:01) An NFL Weekend overview. How bout them Cowboys? Not quite, Mike McCarthy has a lot of questions to answer about his decision-making. Who's surprised us and who's our favorite in each conference after two weeks.

Programming Note: This episode was recorded Monday afternoon before the Monday Night Football game so we did not talk about the disappointing performance by Drew Brees and Co.

This week, I preview the Stanley Cup Finals that starts tonight! The Dallas Stars are my favorite to win it all and not just because they are my favorite team. But also mostly because they are my favorite team. I also get caught up on some NBA playoff action where I make a bold prediction that the Murray-Jokic tandem is better than the Lebron-AD tandem. We'll see how that holds up. The last major agenda item was an NFL week 1 overview. Mike McCarthy makes a terrible mistake, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes are picking up where they left off, and the Washington Football team might be the favorite in the NFC east all jokes aside.

Long-time friend Eric Hasse joins me this week as we eventually get to an NFL preview of the upcoming season. Before that, we mourn over the Bucks' exit from the playoffs. We also do a sports wraparound and look at the remainder of the NHL playoffs, discuss the significance of Dustin Johnson's Fedex Cup victory, and laugh about Novak Djokovic's default from the US Open. Hasse says he had it coming.

Correction: I boldly claim the Chiefs open up the season against the Ravens Thursday night. Maybe that was just wishful thinking as the Texans will actually be the Chiefs' opponent in the season opener. Still a great matchup, but not as great as a potential conference championship preview.

Besay talks about what Messi means to him and the sport of soccer as a whole. Then the conversation shifts to discuss how each league should handle the pandemic as cases surge in many states. Testing is important, but also a pool of players that are in a separate bubble should be available in case teams experience a lot of players test positive and need to add emergency players to the roster.
