This week is Emily's choice! The actual comfort movie is the pro shot of Legally Blonde The Musical, but we ended up talking about the movie too. In this episode we meander through all the characters, and we talk a bit about the staging and each of the songs. Incredible soundtrack, great adaptation, impressive actors, and CHRISTIAN!!! BORLE!!! IN THIS PRODUCTION WE ABSOLUTELY CANNOT!!!!!!!!

When we saw the trailer for this movie, we knew that we wanted to review it for this podcast. It seemed like the classic spunky teen movie that also tries to tackle some big topics. And we gotta say, we enjoyed ourselves! We got to meet a strong cast of awesome people, and we were treated to a lot of capital-M Moments. This movie does still have its faults--some that can be shrugged off, and some that are a little more... glaring.

That's a wrap on Glee Season 2! And what a disappointing wrap it is. Our characters traipse around New York in a fantastical fever dream of the city and cause buttloads of secondhand embarrassment for us, the viewers. The Glee club decides to take their whole original song thing to Nationals (?!?), Wll creates some nonexistent conflict, and Rchel takes up way too much space with her <33<3<3<333<3 energy for New York. Also sorry to Sunshine, Jesse, and MS. PATTI LUPONE!!!

We were dreading watching this episode... and then we were dreading recording this podcast... because this episode is just so sad. RIP Jean <3 But worry not! This episode also contains the usual rage-inducing moments, like the stupid Finn/Quinn breakup and basically everything that Jesse St. James does... Jon Groff was really going ham this time. But it was somewhat worth the suffering--we got treated to some incredible solos from Kurt, Mercedes, Santana, and yes, even R*chel, though we hate to admit it.
Ah, the event we've been building up to for several episodes now: PROM!!! In an unexpected turn of events, Jesse St. James returns; and in a very expected turn of events, the love square of Jesse, Rachel, Finn, and Quinn is unbelievably annoying to watch. It's a little silly that the New Directions is performing at their own prom, and then half of them either get kicked out or run out in the middle for some wild drama. And we're left with a couple questions: Is Kurt in the right for just wanting to enjoy his prom? Is Karofsky a well-written character?
What we learned during this Fleetwood Mac episode is that we know very little about Fleetwood Mac. Also that the Glee club SUCKS!!! (Except Sam, Kurt, and Quinn in this episode, who were just being normal and awesome.) There are too many messy love triangles that we do not care about, Brittany is a little too into taking her relationship public, and we can't fully agree on our opinions of April Rhodes. Big props to Sue and The Muckracker for being the comedic MVP of this episode.
WOW this is a long-ass episode. How is it even this long? On network TV??? We get our usual bits of W*ll being an absolute villain, Kurt flooring us with his never-ending strength, Santana and Karofsky's Bully Whips (lmao), the ICONIC but problematic Born This Way shirts, and even a sprinkle of Faberry goodness. Oh, and 3 cis white men proving that they don't know a damn thing about high school girls and prom queens.
And please give a warm welcome to our special guest this week: Tara!!! Honestly, it was refreshing to hear a new opinion for once... Emily and Claire are tired of sharing the same brain.
As per usual, W*ll does something useless and executes the dumbest possible fundraiser idea for this club. Ms. Tina Cohen-Chang was ROBBED AGAIN, and Mike Chang makes a very strange song selection for his dance solo. But at least Mercedes finally gets some juice—and the best song. Sue never fails to bring us some quality comedy, this time with her league of doom(?), and we can finally breathe easy because Holly Holiday has ended her romance with our least favorite Spanish teacher. (Thank goodness.)
We're finally at the Regionals episode and... this? Is this what we were waiting for??? All the characters start going wild (perhaps the beginning of the end for Blaine and Quinn) and there are lots of great songs, NONE of which are performed at Regionals. Sigh. Anyway, we still got to enjoy some classic shenanigans and a slew of incredible songs from Puck, Santana, and Mercedes.

Ugh, this could be it... this episode might be the beginning of the end for Blaine. His singing sounds kinda weird in this ep, and he stomps all over the Hummels' boundaries. Luckily, MVP Burt was there to save the day but Blaine... you're on thin ice. Also in this episode: Wll somehow pulls both Emma and Holly?!?! Santana is only allowed to communicate her super compelling, deeply emotional arc through vague songs??? And we try our hardest not to PERISH as Mrk Sall*ng is told to his face that child pornography is a crime. Unsurprisingly, what a mess.
We appreciate the simplicity of this episode--it had one main storyline and some small tangential ones, all very related to alcohol. But of course, our least fav Spanish teacher continues to be the most useless man alive. Rachel is off being the worst. Ryan Murphy lurks behind his characters as a frightening, insidious, problematic presence. So basically the usual! But Finn is a pretty stand-up guy this week, and in a sad turn of events, Kurt and Burt fall a liiittle short. But much love to them still, and much love to Mercedes, Tina, and Blaine.
In this episode we see Sue being WILDLY problematic but Jane being incredible, Ashley Fink doing the absolute most with Lauren Zizes, and Lea finally putting on a good performance?? But only because it was a Broadway song. And Amber Riley outsings her anyhow. We're heartbroken for Sam and Quinn... and speaking of Santana, she's the only one who actually makes a comeback in this episode? Maybe? So why is this the title???
Give this episode a listen if you want to hear Emily's opinion of Rachel Berry's "Firework" deteriorate in the span of an hour! And also if you want to hear us gush about the other great musical numbers, Darren Criss' acting (as usual), and Lauren Zizes. With a big absence of Will Schuester in this episode, it was hard to find things to get very angry about, but Tina's number and Finchel kind of fulfill that for us... hope you enjoy!
We're back after a long holiday break!
What an enjoyable episode that we... spent an hour ripping apart? We realized that the iconicity of this episode was protecting us from the dumpster fire that is the plot--apparently the writers don't know how people work. Here we remember that football is stupid, the Glee club girls are stupider, and Sam and Quinn are still dating (yes, Claire forgot about this). Unfortunately, we forget all about the Warblers. And in Emily's words, that's how you know that this episode of Glee is jam-packed with tomfoolery.

Another iconic, drama-filled episode of Glee. In this podcast we gush over Darren Criss, professional actor, for acting. We try to work through the web of drama that Rachel has spun for herself. As usual, we wish anyone but Finchel would get some love from the writers. And after all that, we're still left with one question... why is this episode called Special Education? ?? No but like really why we don't get it

¡Hola clase! We talk about how Gwyneth is a star but Holly has some wasted potential as a character. Sue is a tyrannical icon, Kurt needs to chill a bit, Mercedes deserves better, Terry probably deserves better, and as usual Will deserves nothing. This ep is home to so many iconic Glee moments--join us in paying homage.
Will we ever finish an episode without a long list of reasons that Will Schuester is terrible? Will Coach Beiste ever catch a break? Where does this version of Blaine go in later seasons? All questions with painful, painful answers--questions that we ask ourselves in this ep!

Final ep of ATLA the remix :'((( As usual, we are cyberbullies and really picked these four episodes apart, but we both agree that this is a great finale to the series (and to this era of our podcast). We love ATLA <3

We accidentally POPPED OFF while airing some of our grievances about the Netflix ATLA adaptation and about Legend of Korra... It was such a long discussion that we decided to make it into its own mini-episode!
Finally starting Book 3! We got tired of watching our low-ranked episodes so we switched up the format ~just~ a bit to talk about episodes that we wanted to talk about.
Finishing up with the best of Book 2! Kinda makes us laugh that we ended up with these 2 eps, but they actually ended up being pretty good bookends of each other!
Feeling a little embarrassed about our Top 4 ranking... these two episodes were silly and fun but overall not exceptional. But def give this episode a listen if you want to hear how Emily THOUGHT 'serpent' was spelled.
Neither top 4 nor bottom 4, just two episodes that we wanted to talk about. And glad we did bc they were quite enjoyable!
Finishing off Book 2 bottom four... we're not excited to be swept up in the corruption of Ba Sing Se or to be facing off with Wan Shi Tong. Not to mention losing Appa :(((
Bottom 2 episodes of Book 2. Found ourselves with not much to say about the episodes themselves because... these episodes are truly lacking. But somehow we still went over an hour talking about this and that!
And that's a wrap on Book 1! Ultra long episode this time around--there's just too many amazing things to talk about with these 3 episodes!
Moving on to our top 4 episodes of Book 1! Much easier to talk about than our bottom 4... lol. 2 great Zhao episodes!

We had such high hopes and ended up pretty disappointed, both with the movie itself and the reviews we read afterward... so here is basically an hour of us being cyberbullies. We do say some good stuff too though!
so... tired.... after watching this episode... emotionally drained... full of anger....... but on the bright side this might be the most reliable audio we've ever had! pros and cons amirite
Practically just an episode recap because the members are going all out! They're laying out the drama pretty plainly for us, so we have no deep insights. As usual, please excuse our audio problems... glitches and out-of-sync in this ep... pls someone help us... our audio makes us sad :((
