The breakdown varied by gender in that study as well: 69% of women said they’d be uncomfortable footing all the bills compared with 46% of men. Stats: http://www.quora.comFear - In some experiences and hearing the confessions from women, they are absolutely terrified to ask a man. The fear of him saying “No” completely dismantles these variety of women. Control - Many men love the illusion that when they are the hunter, they are in control, however many men also do not realize this is just an illusion and that the control goes to the “hunted” and women realize this. As the “prey” women know they have the power to stop it at any time, they have the control and why would anyone want to give up control? Eyes on me - many women have stated they love the attention and when a man is “hunting” them, their attention is focused on just them but on the woman’s terms, she can ghost him out for a couple days and claim it is all in the name of the hunt and when she wants that attention again, just flips the switch. Value Increase - If a woman is being chased by a man, her social value among her peers and other women, even strangers increase and if one man is hunting her, she may even get the attention of another man because that man notices she is being wanted by another and this has sometimes spawned into a small competition for her and from there she has pretty much her pick from options. Scripture: Matthew 6:33 KJV But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Stats: https://www.dnaindia.com Psychiatrist Dr Hemant Mittal believes that it’s easier to create a long-term happy relationship with your BFF’s sibling because you have a history and know them well. He adds, “Before entering such a relationship, it’s important to weigh in the pros and cons of such a decision. One has to realise that if things go south, your friendship is at stake and you may not have the support of your BFF when you really need them as they will be place in a difficult position — choosing you or their sibling’s side.” Clinical psychologist Seema Hingorrany believes that this is a tricky situation to be in, and one needs to be very mature if they choose to go ahead with things. She adds, “If you have fallen for your BFF’s sibling, it’s best to let them know first, to avoid any misunderstandings in the future. The plus is that you know them and their family and generally have a great equation with all. The flip side is sometimes if things are not handled maturely, it can cause rifts between friends.” Scripture: Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.

Happy Man: Sweet and sunny aroma with a lively and uplifting linger, and an initially bold, earthy flavor with a honey-like finish. Diva’s Table Topic: Do you involve yourself with someone who has a history? Stats: In some instances, your partner's past might be of concern: Everyone has a past. What you really want to make a note of is how your partner talks about theirs, and if it seems like they've changed after making mistakes or bad decisions in their past. "Your biggest concern is in seeing: Have they learned from their past or are they repeating the same patterns?" "That's hard to tell in the beginning, but you can pay attention to how they speak about their past partners and respond when asked about their past." One major thing to look out for is how they talk about their exes. But some things in their past have no bearing on your relationship at all. Some things should never impact your trust in your partner? How many people they've dated or slept with before you. "How many sexual partners they have had," "Don't ask if you don't want to know. And they are with you now, so focus on that. [Also,] how many people they've dated casually. You just want to know about their major relationships — if they haven't had any, that could also be a red flag that they have intimacy issues." So, how should you handle concerns or jealousy issues? Wondering or having concerns about your partner's past is pretty normal, so what should you do if you're feeling that way? Honesty with a touch of diplomacy" is the way to go. "Why do you want to know?" you should ask yourself. "Why are you concerned? Is it a gut feeling or are you feeling insecure? It's important to check in with yourself before you have the conversation." "Or better yet, you can lead with sharing something personal about your past and then invite them to share back," "The key is to never make them feel like they have to be on the defensive." Word of the Day/ Definition: Feted; to be honored or celebrated. Scripture: Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

SOURCE: www.womenshealthmag.com Researchers followed 373 couples since they were first wed in 1986. In each couple, both the husband and wife rated how close they felt to their in-laws on a scale of one to four. Marriages in which the wife reported having a close relationship with her in-laws had a 20 percent higher risk of divorce than couples where the wife didn’t report a close relationship. Conversely, marriages where the husband reported being close with his in-laws had a 20 percent lower probability of separation than couples where the husband reported a relationship that wasn’t as close 1. 1. Draw the Lines (with Your Spouse) Beforehand Make sure to discuss with your spouse what makes you uncomfortable and how much interaction with his folks you would prefer. 1. 2. Let Him Do the Dirty Work If there’s an issue with his parents, ask your husband to handle it first. This strategy has a dual benefit: It guarantees that he’s the primary guardian of the relationship with them, rather than you; and also, it helps avoid unnecessary additional conflict due to misunderstandings—he knows them best, after all 1. 3. Never Badmouth Him to His Folks Avoid talking about your marriage with your in-laws, Orbuch says. Especially avoid talking about troubles between you and their son, because it can open up a line of communication (either critical or “helpful”) that isn’t appropriate. 1. 4. Prepare Your Responses If your in-laws frequently say offensive things, or make you feel as if they’re meddling or judging your lifestyle, prepare responses to their common quips in advance of seeing them. “Instead of being defensive, respond with a simple answer and move on to another topic, or shift focus to someone else at the table,” Syrtash says. SCRIPTURE: Romans 12:9-10 says, “Love must be completely sincere. Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good. Love one another warmly as Christians, and be eager to show respect for one another”

Stats: A commonly raised piece of dating etiquette is that women want men to pay for the first date. However, a surprising revelation from the study is that it’s the men who are more likely to think that men should pay. As you can see in the chart above, nearly two-thirds of men (63%) think that the man should take care of the check on a first date. Women don’t agree. Less than half of the women in the study (46%) think that paying for the date is the guy’s responsibility. Men and women also disagree on whether women should foot the bill instead. Just 2% of men want women to pay when they’re on a first date. However, women themselves are more likely to want to pick up the tab, with 5% saying they’re the ones who should pay for a date. Stats: Social scientists have documented a substantial increase in both mothers’ and fathers’ time spent with children since the 1960s in the United States. To understand rising parental investments in children and persistent class and gender differences in parenting, popular accounts and academic studies have pointed to an apparent cultural shift toward norms of time-intensive, child-centered parenting, particularly for mothers and among middle-class parents. However, prior research has produced inconclusive evidence relating to social class, gender, and contemporary parenting norms. Using data from an original vignette survey experiment conducted with a nationally representative sample of more than 3,600 parents, this study examines cultural norms related to parenting elementary school-aged children, considering how both social class and gender shape views about good parenting. Results indicate that parents of different social classes express remarkably similar support for intensive mothering and fathering across a range of situations, whether sons or daughters are involved. These findings suggest that cultural norms of child-centered, time-intensive mothering and fathering are now pervasive, pointing to high contemporary standards for parental investments in children. Stats: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/living-Six things you should never do when you have opposite sex friends. Never prioritize an opposite-sex friend above your intimate relationship. Telling an intimate partner that if he/she doesn’t accept your opposite-sex friendship that you will break-up with them, is not only lethal to the intimate relationship, it is akin to the emotional abuse used by narcissistic individuals when they engage in the abuse tactic of triangulation. Don’t hide activities with your friend from your intimate partner. Lies of omission are lies, and when you start hiding your behavior from your partner you are engaging in a form of deception that is aimed at controlling your partner’s perception. Once you have made the choice to hide your behavior you are already keenly aware that what you are doing is likely to harm the relationship. This type of behavior directly kills any bond of trust. If you take a weekend trip out of town with your opposite-sex friend and neglect to tell your partner that your friend is with you, that is disrespectful and threatening behavior to the bond you have with your partner.

That’s where he really got the courage to fight for him, the pandemic gave him time for himself, something he had been asking for a while, with time on the table there were no excuses to get it done. Antojitos de mi tierra started out as an idea in 2017 when he was in NJ. And would sell on the weekends to people he knew. Once they moved to Florida it kind of got sidetracked bit, he never stopped thinking about it. 2 years later in 2019 they were able to save up; with help of some family got their first trailer. They moved 6 months later to California, his job transferred him out there Feb 2020, so never started it in Florida. In California covid hit and with his hours reduced he started putting the trailer outside his garage and started advertising everywhere he could. August 21 we got invited to a car show, blew us up, everyone wanted us at their events, they had only hotdogs at the time and after that started adding the rest of the menu, towards the end of his California run he was doing 2-3 events per day but unfortunately the state closed again and with housing being an issue decided to move back to NJ Feb 2021. Stats: https://www.nydailynews.com/life-styl..."Common wisdom says that women are more hurt by problems in a relationship," lead researcher Robin Simon, a Wake Forest University sociologist, told ABC News. "But we found that the benefits of support [in a relationship] and the disadvantages of strain are exaggerated for the men." When hurt, women are likely to become depressed while men tend to engage in substance use or abuse, according to Simon. And the more problems a guy faces in a relationship, the higher he tended to score on a substance abuse scale. Psychologist and author Frances Cohen Praver believes the emotional gender difference could be due to the fact that women are actually less sensitive to the issues. "Women are more naturally expressive," Audrey Nelson, author of "Code Switching: How to Talk so Men Will Listen," told ABC News. "We'll cry, show our feelings – when a woman is having a hard time, she has two or three friends she can talk to, to ease the pain. Men have the same feelings and emotions, but they have no outlet." In this situation, you’ll have close emotional ties to both individuals. It may also be unclear if the friend is intentionally flirting—with the goal of a romantic or physical benefit—or is trying to engage in harmless joking. Either way, if the situation bothers you, it’s appropriate first to privately discuss matters with your spouse and see how they took the situation. At some point, you may need to politely confront the friend, ask them their intentions, and request that they stop the flirtatious behavior. Diva’s Table Topic: Religion vs. Relationship with God Word of the Day / Definition: Humbug (noun) To be deceptive or false talk or behavior. Stats: https://biblereasons.com/religion-vs-relationship-with-god/ Many people like saying things like Christianity is not a religion it’s a relationship. This is true, but it’s not the entire truth. Christianity is a religion, but as believers we treat it as a relationship. The problem that I see in many Christian circles is that many people use the grace of God to indulge in sin. They say things like “relationship over religion” or “Jesus over religion,” but they forget things such as repentance and sanctification. I hate the aspect of religion that says you have to do something to be right with God. I hate when someone tries to put legalistic rules upon believers. However, evidence of your faith in Christ is that your life will change. Evidence of your faith in Christ is that you will have new desires for Christ and His Word. I heard someone say, “Jesus hates religion.” This is not true. The reason? Women trying to rise up into leadership face cultural and systemic hurdles that make it harder for them to advance, such as unconscious bias. The study suggests that a way to overcome some of these hurdles is to form close connections with other women, who can share experiences from women who have been there, done that—from how to ask for what you’re worth to bring your unique talents to leadership. DISHES: Loaded Potatoes Chicken; Steak and Shrimp DIVA’S TABLE TOPIC: Dating in the Faith - Dating "your" way vs. God's way WORD OF THE DAY: Quiddity 1. DEFINITION: Quiddity 1. The essence of something or someone; a distinctive feature STATS: www.boundless.org Basically, we can make three general statements about modern dating vs. biblical dating in terms of their respective philosophies: Modern dating seems to be about “finding” the right person for me biblical dating is more about “being” the right person to serve my future spouse’s needs and be a God-glorifying husband or wife. (Reference:Michael Lawrence has written on this site, “Stop Test-Driving Your Girlfriend“); In modern dating, intimacy precedes commitment. In biblical dating, commitment precedes intimacy. The modern dating approach tells us that the way to figure out whether I want to marry someone is to act like we are married. If we like it, we make it official. If we don’t, then we go through something emotionally — and probably physically — like a divorce. In biblical dating, Scripture guides us as to how to find a mate and marry, and the Bible teaches, among other things, that we should act in such a way so as not to imply a marriage-level commitment until that commitment exists before the Lord. SCRIPTURE: Timothy 2:2222 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. #Dating #Faith #DatingInFaith #NadivaShow

Almost every exotic surf town they visited offered its own unique version of an acai or pitaya bowl. They decided to recreate their favorite recipes with their own twist at home at the Jersey Shore. WORD OF THE DAY / DEFINITION: Besiege - (verb) surround (a place) with armed forces in order to capture it or force its surrender; lay siege to. EXAMPLE SENTENCE: '"the television station was besieged with calls". FEATURED RESTAURANT: Cafe Metro 477 Cedar Ln, Teaneck, NJ 07666 (201) 530-7500cafemetronj.com BIO: BERNADINE HARRIGAN - OWNER Café Metro opened in 2015 Once they opened Café Metro, it was as if the community was longing for something like this! Not only did they come in for the delicious food of the islands, but also karaoke on Thursday and Saturday nights, birthday celebrations, weddings, anniversaries, and all types of gatherings. Café Metro’s authentic dishes have attracted people of all ethnicities to explore the fresh and flavorful colors and tastes of the Caribbean. Traditional Caribbean dishes are influenced by many world cultures, including Spain, Britain, and West Africa. Cafe Metro thinks that’s part of the reason why when people visit Café Metro, they feel as though they are part of the family! Ms. Bernadine Story: Cooking has been Ms. Bernadine's passion for as far back as she can remember. Growing up on the Caribbean island of Antigua, she was the seventh of eleven siblings, so home-cooked meals were an essential part of her family’s life. In those days, she used to cook outdoors on a clay coal-pot. Ms. Bernadine could make or bake almost anything with the coal-pot! There was something about going into our backyard, gathering ingredients, and combining them to create different dishes that she loved. Ms. Bernadine remembers rushing home from elementary school so that she could prepare dinner for her siblings. To this day, they continue to tell stories about how much she loved cooking. As Ms. Bernadine got older, she would cook local authentic Caribbean food to sell to her community. Ms. Bernadine's greatest reward is to see the people she loves enjoy my food. "I hope that my passion for cooking traditional Caribbean food will shine through in every meal served at Café Metro." “Eat till you belly full!” DISHES: Oxtails Salmon Rasta Pasta and Stewed Chicken Ginger Tea/Ginger Beer DIVA’S TABLE TOPIC: When does eye candy become lust? WORD OF THE DAY / DEFINITION: Besiege - (verb) surround (a place) with armed forces in order to capture it or force its surrender; lay siege to.EXAMPLE SENTENCE: '"the television station was besieged with calls". STATS: https://www.gotquestions.org/lust-of-the-eyes.html Satan uses the lust of the eyes as one avenue of temptation. Part of the reason Eve listened to the serpent in the Garden was that she looked at the forbidden fruit and saw that it was “pleasing to the eye” (Genesis 3:6). Satan used a visual image to help entrap her. Satan tried a similar tactic on Jesus. One of his temptations in the wilderness was an attempt to make Jesus covet earthly power. Satan used a visual: he “showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor” (Matthew 4:8). He then promised to give them to Jesus—for a price. Of course, Jesus did not succumb to the lust of the eyes, and Satan was defeated (verses 10 and 11). Simply put, the lust of the eyes is the sinful desire to possess what we see or to have those things which have visual appeal. This coveting of money, possessions, or other physical things is not from God, but from the world around us. John emphasizes that these physical things do not last; they will pass away. In contrast, the child of God is guaranteed eternity.
